Location JDBC jar file while building Jetspeed2

Hi,
At the moment I'm trying to get Jetspeed2 installed. Reading the manuals it seems soooo easy. I installed Jetspeed using the default installation method, and wanted to change the database from derby to MySQL.
To change the database from derby to MySQL I need to start an Ant script. As a result of running this script, I got the following error:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: -> Unable to start DBCPCDatasourceComponent: -> java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
(tabs and -> added for readability)
There is a mysql-connector-java-5.1.6-bin.jar in Tomcat's shared/lib directory. This jar file is also part of my systems classpath.
Does anyone have a suggestion in which way I can look?

  • Locating a JAR file

    Has this happened to you? You search the internet for some concept in Java and find a nice piece of code that illustrates perfectly what you want to do. So you do a little cut-n-pasting and off you go. But then you're suddenly stopped in your tracks due to an error in an import statement. Scratching your head, you stare at the import statement wondering where that particular package is located. You've got 6 million JAR files to search containg that illusive package. With nothing more to go on, you go looking for any JAR file on your system that might come even the slightest bit close to containing that package you desire - without luck. So there you sit, still sratching a bald spot on your head wondering how the heck you're going to find that JAR file. And here I sit too, slightly balder, and still searching.
    This happens all too often I'm affraid. Where oh where is the JAR to package cross reference search engine web site tool thingy I so desire? Being president of the "procrastinators society for ..", I have no desire to take on such a dubious project. I'm hoping someone out there with a bit more energy than I to taken on such a task and someone else to have researched and found that gem of a utility web site I spoke of and would kindly educate me on such web site.
    Thanks a bunch!

    You've got 6 million JAR files to search containg that illusive package.
    Load them all into your IDE's classpath. Then do a Java type search. Most IDE's will take you directly to the relevant JAR(s).

  • Adding patch jar file while starting Managed Server through Node Manager

    Hi,
    I am using Weblogic Express 10.0 on Linux env, Jrockit JVM.
    I have a patch jar file from BEA, I added it to Weblogic start script, when I start the Managed server by using startManagedWeblogic.sh script, I can see that patch jar file is added to classpath when I grep for Java process.(ps -ef | grep -i java).
    But when I start the Managed server through NodeManager and grep for java process, I dont see the patch jar file added to classpath of Managed server process which is started.
    Can someone let me know if I have to add the patch jar file somewhere else along with Weblogic start script if starting Managed server through Node Manager?
    Weblogic Consultant

    Thanks for your response.
    I found another way to do this.
    Edit nodemanager.properties file and set StartScriptEnabled=true (By default it is false), and then restart the Node Manager process.
    Enabling this setting to true will enable the NodeManager process to use startManagedWeblogic.sh script while starting the managed server, all the added jar files, memory settings will be taken from start script of Weblogic

  • Setting the L&F located in jar files

    Hi.
    How can you set the L&F to a custom Look And Feel located inside a jar file?
    I used the following to accomplish that:
    java -classpath "C:\LookAndFeelSwaper\lf.jar;C:\LookAndFeelSwaper" LaFSwaperI have a class located in "C:\LookAndFeelSwaper" which uses the L&F in "C:\LookAndFeelSwaper\lf.jar".
    I want to have the same effect by changing the source code and not in the java command as written above.
    My goal is to give the user the option to switch from L&Fs, which have been downloaded.
    Thanks in advance,
    SIJP

    Step 1: Create a class loader
    File file = getJarFile();  //The location of the jar with the look and feel
    ClassLoader cl = new URLClassLoader(new URL[] { file.toURL() });
    Step 2: Create an instance of the custom look and feel
    Class clazz = cl.forName("plaf.MyLookAndFeel");
    LookAndFeel laf = (LookAndFeel)clazz.getInstance();
    Step 3: Use the UIManager class to set the look and feel.
    UIManager.setLookAndFeel(laf);That should do it for you .

  • Location of jar file for com.sapportals.wcm.service.IService

    Hi,
    Can somebody tell me that from where can I get the jar file for <b>com.sapportals.wcm.service.IService</b>
    Regards,
    Manish

    Hi Manish,
    I think you'll find it in <b>bc.sf.framework_api.jar</b>
    located in <b>..j2eeclusterserver0appssap.comirjservlet_jspirj
    ootWEB-INFportalportalappscom.sap.netweaver.bc.sflib</b>
    I'd also recommend trying JAR class finder.  More details here: JAR Class Finder

  • Maintain local in-house jar files while java plug-in is upgraded

    I have some in-house developed jar files which are kept at C:\Program Files\Java\jre_xxx\lib\applet. However, starting from Jre 1.4.2, there is
    an "autoupdate" feature which allows auto-download and installation of newer version of JRE to the client PC.
    Though it is a good feature, there is problem in using the in-house developed jar files because the local jar files will not copied to the
    corresponding java jre directory automatically. I need to copied the jar files manually to the new jre\lib\applet directory.
    Besides me, there is many users at the site encounter the same problem. Are there any suggestions to improve the matter.
    Thank you.
    Newton

    This is why you should not put your files inside Java's system directories.
    Bite the bullet and make the change - move your files outside of Java's directories.
    The alternative is to develop and maintain a corporate intranet Java update functionality.

  • Locating a jar file into JDeveloper 11g

    Hi there,
    I'm looking for a easy way to find out which jar files are part of each predefined library on JDev. Is there an xml file inside JDev where it is defined?
    Best regards,
    George

    For programmatic access to the library definitions, the libraries are defined in the shared-library definitions in the server.xml files in the following directories.
    C:\JDeveloper\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j\config
    C:\JDeveloper\jdev\extensions\oracle.adfp.seededoc4j.10.1.3\srcimage\j2ee\home\config
    C:\JDeveloper\j2ee\home\config
    The code-source path specifies the library jar fles.

  • How to debug the jar files while developing the native extension for android

    ANyone???

    I'm having the same problem. I learned FB and Eclipse. I've read the tutorials, created an ane, and built it into a test app. I can debug my test app within FB 4.7 on my mobile device via USB. But there are bugs and they silently fail. Despite all my Log statements in my android java code, they won't output to the FB console. I'm blind, without even trace statements to help fix my ane. I've searched the internet and can't find anything. It must either be terribly obvious or arcane, because no one mentions it.
    Can anyone tell me how to get trace out of an ane?
    The Android reference claims debug and verbose priority are stripped out at runtime. I switched to Log.i() but still get nothing. I suppose for now I'll try throwing errors and see if I can report trace info that way if possible.
    Anyone perhaps have a JUnit test that will mimic AIR using the ane jar file as an extension? Perhaps it will be easier to go full native until the android side is debugged.
    Update Edit: Ok, now spending more time reading the Android developers website. I've found I can use logcat to get all kinds of useful system logs, including the log output of my embedded ane. I created a nice big command line window (180 char wide with a 500 deep buffer so I can scroll back through all the messages), then from the android platform tools directory I ran 'adb shell', then at the shell prompt $>logcat

  • Deployment Rule Set Centrally Managed location of .jar file?

    Hello,
    We are currently looking at implementing the Deployment Rule Set in our company and I was wondering if there is a way to centrally manage the Deployment Rule Set?
    Having to keep up with deploying the jar file for every change and expiring certificates isn't ideal

  • Access JAR File while running App with Java Web Start

    Hello guys,
    I want to delpoy my application so that I can run it when I click on the appropriate button in a web page.
    I have a Jar file for all the files that the app needs. No, not all of the files are included.
    Indeed, I use JAR files such jdom.jar or postgres...jar that I must use in within my application.
    How can I access these JAR files knowing that I can't point to files in a JAR file A from within a JAR file B, if the JAR file B contains the JAR file A?
    The main JAR file that I put on the web server can be seen as the JAR file B and the other JAR files must be stored somewhere for the java classes within the main JAR file to have access to them.
    I wonder whether there is another way to structure the project.
    Thanks.

    Hi Andrew.
    I have followed your suggestions and here is what my .jnlp file look like:
    <tt>
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="http://localhost:8080/koedops" href="beta.jnlp">
         <information>
              <title>KOEDOPS</title>
              <vendor>Pr. Fischer</vendor>
              <homepage href="http://localhost:8080/" />
              <description>Downloading koedops with Java Web Start</description>
         </information>
         <resources>
              <j2se version="1.6+" />
              <jar href="beta.jar" main="true"/>
              <jar href="jcalendar-1.3.3.jar" />
              <jar href="jdom.jar" />
              <jar href="postgresql-8.4-701.jdbc4.jar" />
         </resources>
         <application-desc main-class="general.Application" />
    </jnlp>
    </tt>
    The three other jar-files reside in the same directory as the .jnlp file and the beta.jar file on the tomcat server.
    When I launch the application though nothing happens upon the download. In contrast, if I change the main class to a class file that requires no extra library, it runs perfectly.
    I can't be sure whether the jar-files are successfully accessed.
    Regards.
    Edmond

  • Specifying the location of the support files while building installer.

    Mr requirement is to store a support file in a directory just above the install directory.
    example...
    my support file is good.xls
    I have installed my application at c:\motion\move\go.exe
    I want the support file to be installed automatically at c:\motion\infos\template\good.xls. when i install my application.
    i tried to do this by specifying the path at the files tab in the installer settings. I am not clear with the destination directory settings.
    how is achieve this .

    Hi again,
    let me see if I undersood your problem: you need to build an application with which a support file has to be created in the sub-folder INFO\TEMPLATE relative to the main folder where the program is installed; and you want to leave the possibility to choose the main folder.
    If this is correct, I modified your build file to show how to do it.
    Open the test3.bld with the app. builder:
    - Target tab: here you set the destination of your application when you hit the Build button;the support file directory is where the builder and installer will place automatically any needed support file ( for example dlls)
    - Source files tab: click on custom destinations and select test.txt; you see that the destination is c:\test\info\template. Thi
    s is the place where this speciific support file will be placed when buiding the app.
    - Switch to Installer Settings tab: you see that the default installation foldet is Program files with sub-folder Application. This is the default destination of your application when you run the installer. But keep in mind that you have the option to change this destination during installation (you get a message dialog).
    - Hit the Files button and select Test.txt. The installation destination is set to Install directory (it is the destination directory you choose during install). And as Insatllation application subdirectory I typed info/template. This is the path destination of your support file relative to installation dir.
    With the installer created you can choose the install dir. and the test.txt will be created in \info\template.
    Let me know if you need more explaination.
    Good luck,
    Alberto

  • Jdeveloper remove some Jar files while create deployable of ADF Application

    Hi,
    i am using JDeveloper11.1.1.5 with weblogic server 10.3.5
    i have created one ADF application.
    it works fine with integrated server.
    now i want to create the Deployable EAR file for this application to deploy it on another server (Other Than IntegratedWeblogic Server)
    when i try to create the EAR following trace would be printed on Deployment-Log
    [05:39:40 PM] ---- Deployment started. ----

    [05:41:01 PM] Elapsed time for deployment: 1 minute, 21 seconds
    [05:41:01 PM] ---- Deployment finished. ----
    if you see the lines highlighted by @
    here it removes the trinidad-api.jar and trinidad-impl.jar from my EAR saying that "Removing the following prohibited entry from the EAR: lib/trinidad-api.jar "
    so why this happen ?
    this EAR file creates problem while deployment.
    if i manually put both Jars in EAR, it works fine..
    can anybody please help on this ?
    thanks in advance...

    hi timo,
    thanks for quick reply..
    but i don't think so it is present on weblogic because i not put that files in EAR it gives me some classDefNotFound or classNotFound exception.
    and when i put those files, my application is deployed and workes fine..
    thanks,

  • How to include .xml file while building a stand alone application .exe file from a Labview program

    HI,
    I have a labview program which loads default values of all the variables from a .xml file when executed.  I am trying to build a standalone '.exe application'  using
    (Tools Menu --> Build Application from VI) , however I am not sure where to include this .xml file in the process?  I really appreciate if some one could let me know.
    Thanks
    Vish

    As GerdW said, it is preferable (and better practice) to use the project explorer. My guess, you didn't configure the build correctly (and probably used the default settings).
    First, you have to specify your xml file as Always included is the source file tab
    Now look at how the build folders are built:
    The .ini file (xml in your case) is in the data folder. So in the build the relative position of the xml file is not the same as in the development environment. You have to be aware of this difference and use a diiferent relative path for the exe. You can do this using a conditional disable symbol in the project and then use the conditional disable structure in your VI.
    Here in the deploy case the exe will look for the file in the data folder and in the development environment it will look in a folder name Files.
