Location tempInit (what is it?) Syntax errors 1084 & 1086 in lines that don't exist.

I am getting the following errors:
tempInit, Line 280
1084: Syntax error: expecting identifier before true.
tempInit, Line 280
1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before dot.
tempInit, Line 376
1084: Syntax error: expecting identifier before false.
tempInit, Line 376
1086: Syntax error: expecting semicolon before dot.
I don't know where tempInit is in the location and I especially don't know where lines 280 or 376 are because I only have 111 lines of actionscript!  I don't know where to start.
Any help would be appreciated.

Pardon my intrusion.  I thought I'd throw this in since oddly enough it just showed up in the General forum today about an hour before you posted... it might have some info to help (or not).

    I am making an applescript for my modding tool for Minecraft. It used to use multiple apps and I am now trying to make one app for all the tasks.

    else
    display dialog "Restore aborted"
    end if
    end
    When I try to compile/run it gives me Syntax Error: Expected end of line, etc. but found end of script.

    Your script got mangled when pasting it into your message, but the main problem looks like you are missing a bunch of end if statements.  Unless your if statements are contained on one line, you need to terminate them with a matching end if statement - for example, the following are equivalent:
    if someString is "whatever" then display dialog "foo"
    if someString is "whatever" then
      display dialog "foo"
    end if

  • AppleScript -  Syntax Error: Expected end of line found """.

    The following AppleScript code works on Tiger and Snow Leopard but not on Leopard (10.5 > 10.5.8).
    tell application "FileMaker Pro"
    tell database "SomeDB.fp5"
    -- some code to execute
    end tell
    end tell
    In Leopard, the code won't compile and is complaining of a Syntax Error: Expected end of line found """. I click OK and then the quote symbol ( " ) to the left of SomeDB.fp5 is highlighted.
    Has anyone else experienced this and have resolved this in Leopard?
    Thanks

    If you copy/pasted the script from somewhere, the line endings in the source may not be translating. Try replacing the line endings (the return) on the lines around the one that is being highlighted.

    I agree completely. How about also providing a link to a set of input files so that we could actually run the code ourselves? Otherwise, there is no chance to debug the source code, it is just a mess.
    You might have better luck with an older version of the file. To quote the comments:
    // Modified on March 31, 2005. Initialized maxchange in nonlinvoltra() as
    // INFTY. Replaced crnmbr() by a similar, but faster routine interior().
    // Many thanks to Stuart Anderson for pointing out this shortcut.
    I suspect that the "interior" function is just plain incorrect. It doesn't matter if it runs on some other OS. Something about it is wrong and the code is so cryptic that it can't be deciphered.

    I think that you may be trying to construct an SQL query using some logic. Is that right?
    I hav encountered this problem when trying these types of code - If possible please debug the code and see if there is any particular case in which the SQL string in which the command is saved becomes null.
    When it is null or blank - the SQL Driver will throw such an error.
    Also, if you can elaborate more on the problem - I can give you some more help.
    Thanks.

  • XML syntax error 1084

    Hi,
    this is my first post on the forum and I'm a new to Flash.
    I got an error which I can't seem to figure out on my own what is the problem, I've read through some of the 1084 errors but still couldn't figure it out
    I got "1084: Syntax error: expecting rightparen before colon" on this line: myXML = new XML(e:target.data);
    And here is the whole code:
    var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
    loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,onLoaded);
    var myXML:XML;          // Variable to hold XML class
    function onLoaded (e:Event):void{
    myXML = new XML(e:target.data);
    loader.load(new URLRequest("names.xml"));
    trace(myXML);
    Thanks in advance
    Regards Sakujin

    I've discovered the error after I got help from a friend the culprit was a colon instead of a punctation after XML(e.target.data); instead of XML(e:target.data)
    Thanks for everyone that has visited my post.

  • What is this syntax error?

    The standard SAP program SAPDBZDF giving error in ECC6.0 version in line 211:Field "%_GET" is unknown. It is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement . . .
    The line declared is
    IF B0SG-XASGL <> 'X' AND %_GET+10(1) <> ' '.
    What is the %_GET? how to eliminate the error?
    This code doesn't give syntax error in 4.0B version.
    If it is standard SAP report, please help me.

    Hi,
    this rather looks like some kind of inactive query, infostructure or other generated stuff.
    As already mentioned: Our system knows
    SAPDBDDF                                   Logical Database SAPDBDDF
    SAPDBIDF                                   Real Estate Logical Database
    SAPDBKDF                                   Logical Database SAPDBKDF
    SAPDBMDF                                   FM Master Data Mass Selection
    SAPDBSDF                                   SAPDBSDF Logical Database
    SAPDBVDF
    If you copied one of the standard logical databases to customer name space SAPDBZDF: I did this and I found OSS notes guiding through additional necessary process.
    Regards,
    Clemens

  • Syntax Error 1084

    ICan someone help, please? I'm having trouble with ActionScript 3.0, and I keep getting an error:
    1084:syntax error: expecting rightparen before colon
    And this is the script:
    home_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, takeHome);
    function takeHome(evt:MouseEvent){
        gotoAndStop(1)
    flash_button.addEventListener(event:MouseEvent)void:)
        nextFrame(2);
    clients_button.addEventListener(event:MouseEvent)void:
        nextFrame(3);
    If anyone can see anything wrong with this, I'd be more than grateful.

    There are a number of errors.  The following lines are correctly written... so based the rest of the code you show on their example...
    home_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, takeHome);
    function takeHome(evt:MouseEvent):void {
        gotoAndStop(1);
    Also, nextFrame() does not accept a numeric argument... it only goes to the next frame in case you are trying to go more than that.

    Well Jon, the code is very simple... it's generated by DW's form check... and, as i said, it happens with unfailing regularity the minute it's put in to a template generated child.
    This is what the code on the page looks like:
    <head>
    <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->
    <title>Title Here</title>
    <meta name="Keywords" content="some keywords here" />
    <meta name="Description" content="Description here" />
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function MM_validateForm() { //v4.0
      if (document.getElementById){
        var i,p,q,nm,test,num,min,max,errors='',args=MM_validateForm.arguments;
        for (i=0; i<(args.length-2); i+=3) { test=args[i+2]; val=document.getElementById(args[i]);
          if (val) { nm=val.name; if ((val=val.value)!="") {
            if (test.indexOf('isEmail')!=-1) { p=val.indexOf('@');
              if (p<1 || p==(val.length-1)) errors+='- '+nm+' must contain an e-mail address.\n';
            } else if (test!='R') { num = parseFloat(val);
              if (isNaN(val)) errors+='- '+nm+' must contain a number.\n';
              if (test.indexOf('inRange') != -1) { p=test.indexOf(':');
                min=test.substring(8,p); max=test.substring(p+1);
                if (num<min || max<num) errors+='- '+nm+' must contain a number between '+min+' and '+max+'.\n';
          } } } else if (test.charAt(0) == 'R') errors += '- '+nm+' is required.\n'; }
        } if (errors) alert('The following error(s) occurred:\n'+errors);
        document.MM_returnValue = (errors == '');
    </script>
    <!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
    </head>
    And, whammo: "There is a syntax error on line xx. Code hinting may not work until you fix this error."
    And, the error always highlights the closing </script> line.
    The script itself is fine:
    1. If one puts it into an external js file, there's no problem
    2. If one puts it in the body section, there's no problem
    3. If one puts it in the template, there's no problem
    Also, if one removes the closing </script> tag, the error goes away
    The problem only happens in a child generated by a template and in the location I've illustrated. Apparently, this is a problem a lot of users are facing...

    Hello all,
    I have a drop down menu with 7 options. The menu is a movie clip with a mask that reveals each of the buttons when a person mouse_overs the menu button. Each menu option does the same thing, it will call a function based on the button clicked. The function for each button does the same thing:
    function INDEX_Safety (e:MouseEvent):void
              play();
              INDEX_SAFETY=true;
              Sound_Stopper ();
    Each of the functions will change the value of its respecive boolean variable. One for each button. Sound Stopper is a function that stops any FLV Sound that is currently playing.
    When it goes through play() it will come to a particular frame that has:
    Index_Jumper ();
    this function determines which boolean has been set to true, and does a gotoAndPlay("Label Name") based on the boolean that has been set to true. Then sets the boolean back to false.

    The issue i am having: When i click on the 6th option, TDBL, i get the error:

              at RaisingtheOperatorsPlatform_fla::MainTimeline/frame147()[RaisingtheOperatorsPlatform_fla. MainTimeline::frame147:10]
    It says frame 147:10
    From my understanding this means the 10th line on Frame 147.
    This is my frame 147:
    1. stop ();
    2. Caption ();
    3. IndexMC.Safety_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Safety);
    4. IndexMC.Tools_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Tools);
    5. IndexMC.Methods_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Methods);
    6. IndexMC.Method1_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Method1);
    7. IndexMC.Method2_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Method2);
    8. IndexMC.TBDL_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Tdbl);
    9. IndexMC.Raising_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Raising);
    I dont have a 10th line.
    also, when i click the 7th option, nothing happens. However, options 1 - 5 on the drop down menu work just fine.
    Thanks for any insight.

    Right after posting that, I got an idea to try adding the following to frame 1:
    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, Frame_147);
    function Frame_147 (event:Event):void
              if (currentFrame==147)
                        stop ();
              Caption ();
              IndexMC.Safety_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Safety);
              IndexMC.Tools_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Tools);
              IndexMC.Methods_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Methods);
              IndexMC.Method1_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Method1);
              IndexMC.Method2_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Method2);
              IndexMC.TDBL_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Tdbl);
              IndexMC.Raising_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Raising);
    I then commented-out frame 147.
    the error i got pointed to line 36 of frame 1, which is:
      IndexMC.TDBL_Menu_Button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, INDEX_Tdbl);
    Being able to focus on this, i see that i have IndexMC.TBDL instead of IndexMC.TDBL, i think this was one of those "been looking at this thing for too long" errors. Thank you for looking into this, the problem is now solved. As for the error pointing to a line that doesn't exist:
    I still have no idea why it would say the issue was frame 147:10

  • MS SQL - Syntax error for valid query

    I have a problem with the second query in this code (gives me
    a syntax error in my HAVING line)
    <cfquery name="getDupes" datasource="#application.ODBC1#"
    dbtype="ODBC" username="#application.userNameODBC1#"
    password="#application.userPassODBC1#">
    SELECT *
    FROM view_FormCount
    WHERE formCount >= 2
    ORDER BY formNum
    </cfquery>
    <cfset variables.lstForms = "">
    <cfoutput query="getDupes">
    <cfset variables.lstForms=
    listAppend(variables.lstForms,"'#getDupes.formNum#'")>
    </cfoutput>
    <cfset variables.whereClause = "(formNum =
    #ReplaceNoCase(variables.lstForms,',',' OR formNum =
    ','ALL')#)">
    <cfquery name="getDetails"
    datasource="#application.ODBC1#" dbtype="ODBC"
    username="#application.userNameODBC1#"
    password="#application.userPassODBC1#">
    SELECT tblForms.formNum, tblForms.formName,
    tblForms.formCustNum, tblCompanies.companyAbbr
    FROM tblForms INNER JOIN tblCompanies ON tblForms.formCustNum
    = tblCompanies.companyNum
    GROUP BY tblForms.formNum, tblForms.formName,
    tblForms.formCustNum, tblCompanies.companyAbbr
    HAVING #variables.whereClause#
    ORDER BY tblForms.formNum, tblForms.formCustNum
    </cfquery>
    Now, the really odd thing is if I just take the query text
    out of the CFQUERY tags and use CFOUTPUT instead (to see in my
    browser what query is getting executed) I get a query that I can
    paste into Enterprise Mgr and runs fine.
    I can even paste the resulting text into my code in a CFQUERY
    and CF will run it fine.
    In other words, the dynamic version query gives me an error,
    but if I just output the SQL statement, copy-and-paste that into
    the CFQUERY that's erroring out (replacing what's there) to run as
    a static query, it works fine (sample of static query below).
    The error I get when I try to do it dynamically is "Error

    As I said the default behavior is to escape the quotes in
    your variables
    as data. So the default output of your SQL statement, before
    preserveSingleQuotes() would be like this.
    HAVING formNum = ''12345'' OR formNum = ''54321''
    As you can see that is not the desired results in your case.
    In your
    case you have the proper number of single quotes in your
    string and you
    do not want any added. You want to preserve them so to say.
    Thus
    adding preserveSingleQuotes() around your whereClase
    variable, i.e.
    preserveSingleQuotes(whereClause) says do not add any quotes,
    keep them
    all single.
