Lock the progress bar in the Adobe Captivate 5.5 playbar.

I recently read some interesting postings from cpguru website. One of them is how to lock the progress bar.

It says that we can lock the progess bar with simple three lines of AS2 code.

I would like to use this code, but my captivate version is 5.5, which means
I do need to have AS3 code. Is there anyone who already figure out how to do it with AS3?
If so, could you give me some guidance.

Hi Sami,
I am not sure if you would like to hide it or lock it.
I can recommend you to use the a system defined variable and set it to hide the play bar on ceratin slides so it would not appear on those slide.

The Adobe Captivate logo appears while the flash files are loading, which is okay, but it also appears while the file is playing.
Is this because we are still using the evaluation software? Will it disappear when we purchase a license?

As described in the Frequently Encountered Issues topic we have created (click here to view) many folks ask the same thing. They somehow believe that Adobe has crippled Captivate in some way during the trial period. That isn't true. Captivate is fully operational.
What they have done is to configure the default set of Playback Controls and the default Preloader with the Captivate logo. As a Captivate author, you are free to change these if you like. For the playback controls, click Project > Skin Editor. For the Preloader, click Edit > Preferences > Project node > Start and End node.

Removing the Adobe Captivate loading screen

Hi,
Is it possible to remove the Adobe Captivate loading screen on exported .swf files?
Or if not to remove the loading screen create my own?
Any help would be appreciated, as a total newbie to captivate!

Sure is!
Depending on your version of Captivate things may be worded slightly differently. But here is for version 4:
Click Edit > Preferences...
Click the Project node and the Start and End node.
To turn it off, clear the check mark for the check box labeled Preloader.
To choose a different preloader, click the ellipsis icon and choose one.

Question on the Adobe Captivate 6.x Google LMS Widget With Email Reporting

Im looking to use the Adobe Captivate 6.x Google LMS Widget With Email Reporting to collect quiz answers and results but due to security issues I would like to put the results directly into a databse and not into google.
Does anyone have any experience in doing this and if so how what do I have to change to get the widget to send the results to the database.

Email reporting has been removed in Captivate 6 out-of-the-box, though it can be achieved using a widget.

Error on installation of the Adobe Captivate 8. Lost second day already and start to regret. Please help me.

Removing the "Adobe Captivate" logo from the playbar

Hi,
I'm fairly new to the software, so sorry if this isn't possible - but I have a PowerPoint that I published through Captivate and so far works great, but the client would like to remove the captivate logo from the toolbar. I didn't see any options for this in the publish settings - is there any way of removing it?

Is there anywhere I can find the Adobe Captivate 3 software? I have my license key, but not the software itself.

I need this version of Captivate because it is compatible with the version of flash for certain hardware, and I already have a license key for it, but I need the software itself. Any help would be appreciated.

I understand it isn't officially supported, but it was actually installed on a Win 7 64-bit laptop and was working for what we needed it for.
However, with a Flash update that happened sometime around November/December, the flash version was no longer recognized by the program. It's still installed on that laptop, however I can't downgrade flash on that machine. My goal is to get it re-installed on a machine that would not receive any newer versions of flash.

I've downloaded Adobe Captivate 8 64-bit Free Trial, installed but the program won't open.

I've uninstalled and re-installed, tried the 32-bit version with the same result. It says it's installed successfully. I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit PC.
Recommendations??

Exporting the result of output of adobe captivate to moodle LMS

Please i am new to adobe captivate,
I'm working on a project and we are using Moodle as LMS, i have developed some learning material for student using adobe captivate. The learning material has some quiz in it (tutor marked quiz).
My major challenge is that i want to be able to put the scores from the quiz for each student into moodle as the student is taking the learnig material.

For Moodle, I would suggest you use Report to LMS as Percent, not Score, and use Quiz Results Only. Unless there is some compelling reason why you need to report Interactions and Score, I would just use Report Score. The less information you throw at an LMS, the more likely it is to work for you in many cases.
In your Manifest settings, set the Duration to a number of minutes tha corresponds to the duration of the course or module but make sure it is in the format shown (e.g. 00:30:00 for 30 minutes). Some LMSs won't work properly without this setting. If you will be setting up a number of courses or course modules in the same Moodle server, you need to alter the default Identifiers that Captivate inserts so as to differentiate between all the various courses and course modules you may need to track. If they all have the same identifiers, Moodle will think they're all the same course and your results will be faulty.
When you add a course to Moodle you can specify if it's a SCORM course, which will mean that you can ONLY use a SCORM module as the content for that course. But you can also insert a SCORM module as an activity in a normal Moodle course. You just need to select that as the Activity type.
If you will be working a lot with Moodle, I suggest you go to www.moodle.org and start reading their forum posts about setting up e-learning courses.

Why are videos not playing in Adobe Captivate 6?

We are having issues with videos (F4v or .mp4) playing in Captivate 6 produced projects? We've set them as progressive downloads like we did in CP5 or 5.5 that still work corectly, but now they do not. Has anyone else had this issue? It is the biggest one of a few i've found in captivate 6 so far.

Adobe Captivate 5 DEMO

Hello,
I am using the Adobe Captivate 5 DEMO. I am trying to record about one hour worth of screen shot, in full motion video. I am recording an application which streams live stock market prices onto a chart. I have tried this repeatedly and have found that the 'filmstrip' in captivate only records 503 seconds, or about eight minutes worth of my one hour recording.
Does anyone know if the demo version has a limit as to time or file size recording? Any help is appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum,
The trial version is a fully working version. But I am answering just to warn you that it is normally not a very good idea to capture screen demonstrations in Full Motion Recording. Is there a particular reason why you do prefer this to the more natural (for Captivate) Automatic Recording. Not only does this lead to much smaller files (perhaps your system was not capable to keep up with such a large movie) but editing is much easier afterwards. For the user the experience will not be that different, when necessary Captivate will switch automatically to Full Motion Recording to show p.e. drag-and-dop actions, moving the scroll bar.... The user experience will not be that different, but also for the user it will be possible to have much more control over the movie.
If you told more exactly what you were trying to capture, perhaps we would be able to give you some more tips. Just hoping you did not mind my popping in, because it is not really an answer to your question.

CS6 Installation package doesn't show a progress bar when installing?

I'm trying to install an upgrade from CS5.5 Prod Prem to CS6 Prod Prem onto my iMac (10.9.3). I've downloaded the file twice, and tried twice to run it. The install drive will mount from the .dmg, I run it, click on "Install", a progress bar shows up that says "Initializing Installer" which takes maybe a minute or two, then that progress bar disappears and Adobe Application Manager shows up on the doc and nothing else appears to happen. The Activity Monitor does not appear to show any type of installation happening.
How do I get this to install? Shouldn't I be seeing some kind of progress bar?

I just remembered something else which might be helpful. We had the exact same thing happen last year when we had to re-install the Flash Player at work. It was supposedly some kind of problem with the installer not being able to function through the company's firewall, which I didn't have the access or permission to turn off or alter in any way. The only thing that worked was locating and using the full installer package.
So... does anyone know where I could get the full installer package for CS6 Production Premium?

Adobe Captivate 7 Installing Problem

I purchased the Adobe Captivate 7 software on Feb 4 through Adobe website. As there were some issues on my computer yesterday, I uninstalled Captivate 7. But today, when I tried to download the software again and reinstall it, it did not work. After “Initializing installer”, it just stopped and did not do anything. What should I do in order to successfully install Adobe Captivate 7? Thank you.

Can a quizz created in adobe captivate be published through adobe formscentral.

I currently give printed question papers to my students. As the adobe captivate is most suitable for quiz creation, is it possible to distribute the quiz created in the adobe captivate through adobe form central and collect the answers given by the students.

There is a web viewer but there is no way to allow anyone to download the folios from your website.
You might want to look into Fixed Layout EPUB for that.
