Locks in CCM 2 publishing

Hi All,
I published a catalog in CCM 2 but I cancelled the job via SM37 and now I can no longer publish because it still has locks on the catalog I'm trying to publish...
Does anyone know where/how I can remove these locks??

SE38 and program /CCM/CLEANUP_CATALOG to unlock or delete catalogues.
Just select the correct option !

If you are logged in OK maybe you should look at your Keychain.
Finer/Go/Utilities/Keychain Access.app.
Try "Keychain First Aid" from the "Keychain Access" drop down menu.

CCM Publisher issue

wh have CCM version5.1 and the publisher keeps on rebooting. Any idea why this could be happening or has anyone come across this problem before

I would personally download the RTMT Plugin from the CallManager and monitor the performance of the server.
There is obviously a service or environment issue causing your server to re-start (processor over-utilization etc.), and you should be able to tell from the performance counters what this is?

CCM - Publishing Master catalog gives short dump and terminates publishing

we are implementing SRM 5.0 with CCM 2.0 in SP08.
When we tried to publish the master catalog in CCM. we are getting the following error.
FYI..
i ran /CCM/initialize_cme once.
Checked TREX it is working fine. (checked with reports as well)

Locks up when publishing with Flash Video

I'm trying to have a flash video in my project. (Captivate 2)

CCMS Monitoring of SM12 locks

We need to monitoring SM12 locks that are older than 1 day. I am not
sure why lock entries remain in SM12 after user logged off. Old entries
found in SM12 which is causing performance problem. Kindly adive how to
monitor SM12 locks from CCMS and generate alerts.

I know this is an old thread - but issue tracked me, so I occupied myself again with it.
Here are possiblities I found out meanwhile:
Monitoring with 'sapcontrol -nr 00 -function EnqGetLockTable' or EnqGetStatistic
-> doesn't work on our systems, error "FAIL: EnqMon_GetTable failed"; I didn't investigate in this.
Monitoring with 'sapcontrol -nr 00 -function GetAlertTree'
-> no possibility to show entries older than a specified time, only QueueLength and something like this can be monitored (same as CCMS via SAP directly)
Monitoring with function module ENQUEUE_READ (not recommended by SAP!)
-> need of an ABAP programer to realize this for dumping the created table into a file on os-side
Monitoring with 'enqt pf=/usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/SID_DVEBMGS00_hostname 20 0 3'
-> this seems to be the solution for us; we realized this request in a regulary executed script on os-side and grep for dates older than one day - if so an alert is triggered.
So perhaps this might be useful for anybody.

Master Catalog is locked!

Need you help!
Our master catalog is locked and I'm trying to unlock it. As I read some of the postings in this thread, I checked /CCM/D_CTLG_REG and I see two versions of our master catalog. However, both versions are inactive (there's no x next to either one).
To unlock or delete inactive catalogs, there's /CCM/CLEANUP_CATALOG. Since our master catalog is inactive for both versions, if I delete 'inactive' version, would that delete both of them? How do I set one of these to active and delete the inactive one?

Which CCM version are you using ?
We faced fimilar issue ... SAP has suggested this long back ->
The problem is as a result of a system restart which occured while a
publication job was in process. The shutdown cancelled the job for
program /CCM/PE_START_REG_PUBLICATION but did not cancel or clean up
the corresponding table entries which are causing the error you now
encounter
Go to table /ccm/d_pub_st
Here you will see one entry in status 'R' (Running) this needs to be
changed to status 'E' (Published with errors)
Then Use report again /ccm/cleanup_catalog

Unlock catalog
Go to transaction SE38 and execute program /CCM/CLEANUP_CATALOG. Information about the catalog status is held in table /CCM/D_CTLG_REQ.
If your catalog is locked by UI (i.e. publishing) try the report /CCM/CLEANUP_UPDATE_STATUS.

Lock phone problem

Hello,
I have developed a java application that locks the phone when the user is out of the office:
1)User enters service
2)User is asked to enter their PIN.
3)Application checks pin against the CCM and if valid, reconfigures the phone so that no external calls can be made anymore (I use AXL to change the CSS of the line).
It has been working perfectly for months. BUT recently, I’ve had a very important problem. There was a problem with the hardware of the CCM Publisher and it broke down, and the users that had locked their phones couldn’t unlocked them (because the application can’t change the CSS of the line in the CCM Subscriber…)
Have you ever faced this problem? Any suggestion to solve it?

The point is that when I developed the application I didn’t consider the possibility that the Publisher fail, and now that I think about it I can’t figure out a way to avoid this possible scenario, in which the Publisher server is not available and the Subscriber take control. Since its database is read only, the users that have locked their phones won’t be able to unlock them and place calls, because there is no way to change the CSS of the lines to their original values….
Those who have developed a similar lock/unlock application, have you ever had this problem? Do you know a workaround?

In general:
1) You receive an 11-digit PAK code from Cisco.
2) Go to www.cisco.com/go/license, and register the PAK code. For this you need your CCM licensing MAC address; one way to find this is go to CCMAdmin (ccmpublisher/ccmadmin), log in, go to System/Licensing/Upload License, then view an existing license to see what the 'host' part refers to. Another is to go to ccmpublisher/cmplatform, log in, and go to Show/Network.
3) You receive a .lic file from Cisco via email
4) Log into the CCM Publisher at ccmpublisherip/ccmadmin
5) Go to system/licensing/Upload License and upload your file

how can i degrade a ccm publisher to be a subscriber?

I dont know why you want to degrade the publisher to subscriber...
But one time, I replace my publisher because I need more memory and CPU power upgrade from 3.3 to 4.13. Then i reinstall the old publisher to become a subsciber...
Add more redundancy power to the cluster....

Adobe Reader Browser Plugin - How to disable right click print

Here is some background to my question
I'm using Adobe Reader 9.2 and have configured to use the Adobe Reader Active X browser plugin.
which has the effect of launching pdf's within the IE browser rather than launching the full client. This is all working fine
I have a requirement that I need to lockdown certain menu items (for the purpose of this example, lets say "SaveAs" and "Print") and toolbars which I have also done successfully using folder level javascripts. For example I have created a HideMenuItems.js file and placed this in the "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Javascripts", here is a snippet of the file which relate to hiding / removing the SaveAs and Print items

app.hideToolbarButton("SaveFileAs");
app.hideToolbarButton("Save");
These work fine and hide the Print and Save toolbar buttons from the Adobe Reader Browser plugin menu.
As an aside If I wanted to hide the same icons from the full adobe reader client I could use app.hideMenuItem("Print");
So this all works fine and I'm happy so far. Now, with these settings in place I launch the pdf within the browser, although save and print buttons are now hidden and I cannot add them back, I can still RightClick anywhere in the pdf and get the context menu, from there I can select print.
What I'm after is a way to either
(i) Selectively remove menu items from the right click context menu, and therefore remove the print option e.g something like app.[hideRightClickMenuItem]("Print") would be great but I dont know what that method is called.
or
(ii) Disable the RightClick context menu altogether for Adobe Reader Browser Plugin
Not bothered what the solution is whether its a reg hack - HKCU / HKLM / or javascript line I can add to my HideMenuItems.js, But basically I want to lock down the ability for the users to select print button from all sources including "CTRL + P",
Or if this is not possible let them hit CTRL P or right click print, but then not display the Adobe Print Dialog.
Basically the printing of the documents in handled by our web app sending a silent print to the adobe application which again works fine, I just need to prevent the users from being able to initiate a print from within the pdf when displaying the pdf in a browser.
Having searched around there is an API called AVAppRegisterForPageViewRightClicks which is supposed to prevent right clicks, But I dont know how to use this, or whether it can be used within my HideMenuItems.js file, tried many different syntaxes but to no avail.
Does anyone have any experience in this? Adobe - do you have any suggestions ?

I am not a developer writing my own custom plugins, I simply want to use the out of the box adobe reader product, specifically the Active X browser plugin, but I need to be able to customise and restrict what the user is able to do.
The reason I need to do this is that we publish IE on a citrix server which users access to launch this highly secure web based application. The sensitive data that they view is in the forms of PDFs which are viewed by the Adobe reader browser plugin within the browser. The web application controls who can save, export, print etc, so I need to be able to lock down the Adobe Reader Active X browser plugin so that the user cannot initiate save, and print functionality from within the viewed pdf. I've done this successfully by restricting the menu and toolbar items but it is still possible to right click on the viewed pdf and click select print from the context menu. This would cause us a big security flaw, which would result in users that are only supposed to view being able to click print.
I published a desktop (locked down) and published IE (locked down) all successfully with GPOs so the users cannot do anything they are not supposed to do, however Adobe reader it seems cannot be easily locked down and this is a problem as I might have to start looking at viable alterantives. Surely a simple requirement as this could be acheieved with relative ease.
In an ideal world there would be an available GPO template (.ADM file), which could be used to centrally manage these type of settings. I dont even mind writing an ADM myself, I've written many before, but for example what I need is the appropriate registry entries and how they are used to lock down / restrict certain functions so that I can write such an .ADM file.
I dont mind how I achieve this, I just need a way to do it. So if using the API AVAppRegisterForPageViewRightClicks would achieve this, can someone please tell me how I can implement something that would use this API to restrict the right Click Print options for example.
The sort of answer I;m looking for would be
Create a file, paste in this code, place the file is this location xxxxx, this is a per machine fix so will affect all users
or
Edit the regstry and make this HKCU change xxxxx - This is obviously a per user fix so use normal methods to get this into every users profile.
or
Open up the file in this location xxxxxx and add AVAppRegisterForPageViewRightClicks = AlwaysDisable (or whatever the syntax is)

Communication Between Multiple Executables

I'm building a system that needs to communicate with several different external executables (all were programmed in LabVIEW) at approximately the same time. I say several because this number is not known until runtime, and I say approximately the same time because all of the executables will be communicating asynchronously. Essentially I need to receive commands from each executable, put them in a queue of some sort, run a test with my system in the order the commands were received, and then send a result back to each executable.
Because the number of external executables is not known until runtime, I was thinking about using a network published variable that would be an array of clusters. I could then tell each executable which array element it should use to communicate with and then when data needs to be sent back and forth I could update or read from this array element in each executable as necessary. In my VI, I would simply build a watcher that would constantly watch the array to see if new data came in, put this data in a queue, and then process it as necessary. The communication back to the executables would be handled in the same way (perhaps with a second network published variable only to be used for results).
The problem with this approach is that I would need to lock the network published variable (a functional global would really help here) while I'm writing to it from each of the executables so I could be sure that I wouldn't miss data. The number of commands won't be high, but there is a chance that 2 commands could arrive at the same time. I've played around with this in the Shared Variable Properties dialog ("Single Writer" and "Use Buffering"), but can't seem to get it right.
I know that I could open a TCP communication port for each executable and then use that port to communicate directly between my program and the executable, but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions. If you've got a suggestion, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.

You can use a network queue. The attached code works very well for us. It is a modified version from some code I got from LAVA several years back. Just unzip this file into your user.lib directly. The queues work like normal queues except they work over TCP. This means your messages will be added to the receiving queue in the order they were sent. Simply dequeue the commands and execute them.

Reading content during SMB upload

I need some urgent help.
I created the MyFolder class and override the extendedPreAddItem method to perform a validation when a document is uploaded to the folder. Basically, I have to inspect the content of the document being uploaded and, if it is correct, I let it to be uploaded; else, I raise an exception. Everything works fine, except when the file is uploaded through the SMB protocol, which is my main need. With SMB, the getContentSize() always return 0 and the getContentStream() always return null. How could I get the content of the file being uploaded via SMB in an override????? My code follows.

I'm sorry that FTP has been proving unstable for you. We are aware of some issues with our current FTP implementation and plan to address them in future versions of Muse. For now, if you are seeing problems with FTP locking up during publish the workaround of exporting the HTML and using a third-party FTP client is what we reccoemend.

I can't save the category in final cut generator in motion 5.1?
Is posible to lock and unlock publish?

A Motion project can also be "Published" as a FCPX Generator.
When working with a Motion project, select "Publish Template"
In the sheet that appears, you'll need to enable "Publish as Final Cut Generator"
Also you need to create a new category for it to reside in.
Once you do, the Motion project will appear as a generator within FCPX.

users names and their extensions can be obtained from the LDAP directory call manager uses. (if they have been configured in that directory) this would be DC Directory on the CCM publisher by default.
also, a quick view of all the tables in database CCM030x will show you 1000s of tables. you may find some in here that contain the info as well.
