Logarithmic scales in VIEW

Hallo,
I'm using Diadem 9.1. I want to analyze data with a 2D system, x-axis is time. My y-values are in the range 1e-3 to 1e3. I haven't found a way to set the y axis to logarithmic scaling in the DataView. How can this be achieved?
Thanks a lot
Oliver Friedrich

Hi Oliver,
There's no way to set a graph property in VIEW to display the Y axis logarithmically.  You can do this in REPORT, but if you need to see logarithmic display in VIEW, your only option is to use the FormulaCalculator to create a new channel that has the logarithm of the values in your first channel-- something like:
Ch('LogCh'):= Log(Ch(1))

  • Problem with logarithmic scale in combination chart

    Hi Experts,
I have a combination chart where in primary axis i am showing column chart and in the secondary axis, i am showing line chart. Now as the range of values used in the column chart is big, I have to use logarithmic scale in primary axis. But if i do so, the line chart is also being affected. The markers for negetive values in the line chart plotted in secondary axis disappears if I apply logarithmic scale in primary axis.
    Is it a bug ?
    I am using Xcelsius 2008 SP3.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi:
Yes, I also noticed this problem, seems when you set primary axis as "Logarithmic", the secondary axis with negative value "<0" will be ignored as "0". I think it should be an issue.
A quick work around here is, swith your primary axis and your secondary axis, when you set seconary axis as "Logarithmic", the negative values in primary axis will not be ignored.
    Hope it helps.

  • Line bar combo with logarithmic scale

    hi, I found that
logarithmic scale is not supported for line bar combo.
I have checked the checkbox "Use logarithmic scale" under "Tick Marks & Scale Type" under "Axis Scaling" for the left axis.
but the charts (both checked and unchecked) are the same, there is no difference.
And it is unable to check the checkbox "Use logarithmic scale" for the right axis.
    is it the limitation ?

  • Graphing with logarithmic scale in AI5?

I received a graph in MS Excel that uses a logarithmic (as opposed to linear) scale, but as far as I know, it isn't possible to create a scatter-plot graph with logarithmic scale in Illustrator. Does anyone know if there is a plug-in or a script that can do this?
I am happy to upload the Excel file if that would be helpful. This is my first time using this forum, though, so I just need to know how to attach it.
    Thanks

I found this link that has a plugin that states it does logarithmic scale, it is called ToolDemo here is the link, hope it's what you are looking for. http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/#tooldemo

  • IWeb: changing the slideshow image scale and viewing time

I moved my iWeb sites over to another server (iPage) and went through the sites to observe for inconsistencies and problems.  While doing this, I noted that my image galleries, when placed into the slides show mode, were very small on my iPad 2 and that they cycled through at a very high speed.  I thought this was odd and I wondered if anyone else has observed the same thing?  It sounds to me that an HTML under-the-hood modification may be required or a bug fix to the iWeb code is in order, to change the sideshow image scale and viewing time/slide value.  Comments?  [I suspect that Apple does not hold iWeb bug fixes at or near to the top of its software development to-does priority list.  Sounds like I need to change web authoring software.]

Why do you think it's a bug?
    Anyway :
Is there any reason photos in an album page display small on the iPad, but normally on an iMac? And videos on a movies page don't play on the iPad, but are OK on the iMac?
I use my own show :

  • Logarithmic scale in Charts - please clarify your prior answer

I have seen this CRVS2010 Beta2 -  Logarithmic scales in Charts in the forum.
I don't think the question was clearly answered as I have a graph open in the 2008 Crystal Environment not Visual Studio and
I see Time Scale, Ordinal Scale and Numeric Scale.
My boss tells me that Logarithmic scale was in the older versions such a 8.5 .
What happened to it. Is is available and I just don't see it...??

    Hello,
Moved your post to the Report Designer forum.
What that post indicated, because it was in the .NET SDK forum, is that to access the Chart Options is not available through our report engine. Nothing has changed, we've never been able to access those features in an application you write.
The Charting dll is supplied to us by a third party company called 3D Graphics. For what ever reason either 3D removed it or there were problems reported by us with it and it was removed.
If you want it back add your suggestion to the Idea Place, top right corner of this page, and if it gets enough votes PM's will look into it.
    Thank you

  • Logarithmic Scale For Charts

With Bar Charts, I seem to remember in earlier versions (that XIr2) there was an option to use a Logarithmic Scale - so that high maximums would not result in very low maximums - but I am unable to find that option now.  For example, in one chart I have ranges from 1 to 500 - I don't want the 500 to result in the 1 not registering on the chart risers.
    Thanks for any assistance!

  • Logarithmic Scale disabled

I am not able to select the logarithmic scale. I am trying to plot a simple bar graph in 3D and the logarithmic scale option in grayed out or disabled. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Hello
    Welcome to the club.
It seems that you just failed to search in the Help.
Searching for the keyword "logarithmic' you would have discover:
    +*Formatting the Value Axis*+
+To display values on the value axis as logarithmic values, choose Logarithmic from the X-Axis or Y-Axis pop-up menu, depending on the chart. *This option is available only for 2D bar/column charts that aren’t stacked and for line charts*. You can’t plot negative values on the log axis.+
Remember, the Help is not reserved to helpers, _it is also for you_.

  • Logarithmic scale

    Hi,
I want to change the scale of y-axis of the plot to "logarithmic", Does anyone know how can I change it?
I look at the "numeric " part but I don't see the logarithmic operator among them.
    Thanks
    Petar

you can do it manual in the scale legend
or use rigth click and set the property
or use a property node in your program
the property Active Y Scale is only of importance if you have more than one Y scale
and finally: this is a LabVIEW question and not related to signal conditioning

  • Active Ingredient Management with Logarithmic Scale

    Dear Gurus,
I would like to manage the batch specific concentration of an active ingredient that is measured on a log scale.  This is similar to pH, but the active ingredient I would like to manage is a virus particle.
    Any guidance would be appreciated,
    MediSteve

    Dear MediSteve
    You could use the Characteristics
Characteristics are criteria according to which you can search for batches. These characteristics are defined when creating a class. There are two different types of characteristic:
    User-defined characteristics :
These are characteristics which are not defined as fields in the batch master record.
For example: Active ingredient potency, viscosity, color, weight

  • Power View Line Chart - Line size

    Hi,
Is it possible to change the thickness of lines on a line chart in Power View? How can we interact with axis to change them to logarithmic scale or create double axis?

    Hi Tim,
I am trying to involve someone more familiar with this topic for a further look at this issue. Sometime delay might be expected from the job transferring. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • Viewing Marker's Name in Canvas

I have previously added about 48 Markers to my sequence. Their positions are all still located on the Timeline scrubber bar.
But when I select a Marker, the Name does not appear in the Canvas as it did previously.
If I control-click on the Scrubber, I get a drop-down list of all the Markers. I just want to be able to see/access the Name on the Canvas.
Can anyone suggest what I can do to remedy this? I can get around the problem but I would like to know how to see them as before.
    Freesh

    Hi(Bonjour)!
May be it's related to display option for canvas's display.
Make sure that "canvas overlay" option is checked.
If you park the playhead at the first ot last frame of a clip, there will be a small light blue "L" in the canvas .
All other "informations cues" will appears in the canvas.
I'm not currently in front of my Mac, but look at the top of canvas window- where you select the scale of viewing- to check this option.
    Good luck

  • Scale in line chart??

    Hi Experts,
I have a req, in which i have to show two measures as line, and one measure as bar. I used line-bar combo but the problem is one of the measure in line is in the range of 400,000 to 1,000,000 and the other measure is in the order of positive and negative 100's. I need to show them on the same chart is it possible??
    Thanks,
    DK

    Hi DK,
Well, it definitely is possible to show multiple lines in a line-bar combo, the issue is having it display and make sense. If you put them both in the same graph, the first line measure will make the second line look completely flat.
One option is that you could enable "logarithmic Scale", however, I tested that out and it forces you to do it for both the line and the bar parts of the graph (might be a bug). If that's acceptable to have both displayed logarithmic, then go for that solution.
Otherwise, how were you picturing the metrics being displayed as lines on the same graph? Since they are pretty much completely different scales, were you hoping to get a total of three y-axis's (2 for the lines and 1 for the bar)? If that's what you are hoping for, you'll probably need to do some heavy digging into Corda Pop Charts. Here's John Minkjan's work on Corda charts: [http://obiee101.blogspot.com/search/label/CORDA]
    Good luck!

  • Logarithmic Axis in DIAdem-VIEW

I can't find an option to set my graph's y-axis scaling to "logarithmic" in DIAdem-View. Isn't there an easier way than writing a VBA-script? It's a breeze to do for reports, but I need the zoom and selection featurs available for views.

If I remember correctly, this is a feature planned for on of th next DIAdem releases. Look for it in a new DIAdem release sometime next year.

  • Logarithmic axes in scatter plots

    Hello,
Maybe I am wrong but reading the documentation and doing some tests, I do not succeed to do a scatter plot with one axe on a logarithmic scale.
It seems that, in this mode, both axes X and Y are linked and need to have the same origin. In my try, X goes from 0 to 5000 whereas Y goes from 1E15 to 6E20.
So if both needs to begin at 0 because of X, it is a bit stupid and a serious problem to use Numbers
Does anybody knows how to do that ?
    Best regards
    Alef
