  • Error of method not found in C# class in VS 2013 on win7

    I am changing a C# code in a solution (it has many files and projets) from VS 2013 on win 7.
    I added some properties in class1. It was built well.
    But, it has run-time error:
    Method not found : class1.set_p1(system.string)
    The code logic is as follows:
    public class class1
    public string p1 {get; set;} // **have updated**
    class1 is defined in a C# project that has been added in the solution.
    public abstract class class2 : class1
    class2 ins2;
    ins2.p1 = myData.order.data_file; // myData is from an xml file after deserialize and serialize, data_file is a file path.
    I have cleaned up the solution before building. I have also search the error online but none of them can solve my problems.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Check your dependencies in your projects. I understand the project was added to the solution but was it also added to the projects that will be 1. implementing/inheriting types from that project and 2. consuming types from that project
    Check your name spaces to make sure that the type class1 is not also defined in another namespace in that or even a different project. In that case class1 might not have that property available because its pointing to the wrong type.
    If that does not solve your problem it would be helpful to include.
    the fully qualified namespaces of the types in your type hierarchy that are giving you the problem
    the full calling code, the sample above is not correct in syntax.
    the project dependencies for the code in question and where the types are located in each project

  • Tomcat error: "method not found"

    I'm starting a new thread because the issue is method not found.
    So kindly bear with me.
    I'm using Tomcat 5 with Javac 1.4.2. I have created a test class
    called hellothere. The idea is to call a method from JSP.
    package helloworld;
    import java.lang.*;
    public class hellothere {
    public String sayworld()
    String st="hello from hellothere";
    return st;
    public int returnint()
    return 1;
    And the jsp looks like:
    <%@ page import="helloworld.*" %>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title> hello there </title>
    <body>
    <%
    hellothere h=new hellothere();
    String st2=h.sayworld();
    out.println(st2);
    out.println(h.returnint());
    %>
    </body>
    </html>
    The error I get is:
    method not found helloworld.hellothere.sayworld()Ljava/lang/String;
    blah blah
    When I call the returnint after commenting sayworld I get the same error, i.e. method returnint not defined.
    Does anyone know what's going on?
    Thanks

    Make sure that there is only one version of the class
    file on your system. Then check spelling and
    capitalization of the method names.
    You are not trying to run this from an IDE are you?No. I was using Tomcat 5. I don't see this problem with Tomcat 4.
    Thanks

    Hello,

    Hi Vetsrini, Thank you for your response.
    1. I checked the values in the xml and found no nulls. I see all 0 or non-zero numbers.
    2. Following MetaLink Doc ID 362496.1, I find:
    - PDF Producer: PDF file properties shows PDF Producer "Oracle XML Publisher 5.6.3"
    - AD_BUGS SQL: The SQL results show that I have the 5.6.3 patch, but the SQL in the Doc only includes patch numbers up to 5.6.3. I'm not sure how I can find out the patch numbers of more recent patches, to see if i have those.

    What is the latest XDO patch? I can't find anything newer than what I have in MetaLink, but I probably am missing something...

  • Method not found: 'Void National Instruments.LabVIEW.Interop.LV Runtime.throw MissingDependencyException()'.

    Method not found: 'Void National Instruments.LabVIEW.Interop.LV Runtime.throw MissingDependencyException()'.
    My colleague created a Labview DLL for me to use in .NET.
    I have tried getting this DLL to work in 3.5 framework however it only worked on framework 2.0.
    I recently tried again and now it will not work in framework 2.0 or any available frameworks.
    He is using Labview 2011.
    I am a little baffled as to how the application just stopped working. The National Instruments Runtime I am using is Labview 2011, version 1.1.0.0. The labview dll he gave me is using 1.1.0.0 as well. I have tried using 1.0.0.0 and I get an error saying there is a mismatch.
    In addition, for some reason I was never successful in making this work in 3.5, and now I can't make it work in 2.0 either.
    Any help is greatly appreciated. I have tried re-installing the runtime engine, tried different versions like labview 2013 but no luck...
    Everything works except when I call the dll procedure:
    LabVIEWExports.AxBClusterArrays(out ERR, out OUTDLL, INDLL);
    My Code:
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Windows.Forms;
    using NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop;
    using InteropAssembly;
    namespace WindowsFormsApplication1
    public partial class Form1 : Form
    public Form1()
    InitializeComponent();
    private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    InteropAssembly.LVCluster_1 OUTDLL = new InteropAssembly.LVCluster_1();
    InteropAssembly.LVCluster_2 INDLL = new InteropAssembly.LVCluster_2();
    double[] TestA = new double[1];
    double[] TestB = new double[1];
    for (int runs = 0; runs < 1; runs++)
    TestA[runs] = 1;
    TestB[runs] = 1;
    INDLL.A = TestA;
    INDLL.B = TestB;
    NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.ErrorCluster ERR = new NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.ErrorCluster();
    MessageBox.Show(NationalInstruments.LabVIEW.Interop.FrameworkVersion.Fx35.ToString());
    try
    //LabVIEWExports LVE = new LabVIEWExports()
    LabVIEWExports.AxBClusterArrays(out ERR, out OUTDLL, INDLL);
    catch (Exception f)
    MessageBox.Show(f.Message.ToString());

    Figured it out, I thought we where using Labview 2011, however it was Labview 2011 SP1.
    Thus i had to install the runtime envioment 2011 SP1.

  • Method not found error even though method exists....

    hello
    i m a newbee to sun and oracle technologies
    these days i m doing teh SRDemo tutorial with JDeveloper (ADF)
    I m having a problem and cannot figure out its solution so far
    problem is i have a utility funtion defined in a AFDUTIL javaclass,
    when i call this function in any class ,
    and one of its method
    compiler gives me error method not found
    even though i select the method from the list, plus when from cotenxt menu it can go to method as welll
    please help me to solve this issue
    regards

    well the code behind for the button is as follows
    public String cancelButton_action() {
    This action is actually reused from two pages, so we just need to ensure that we
    use the correct binding container reference.
    DCBindingContainer dcBindings =
    (DCBindingContainer)ADFUtils.findBindingContainer(getBindings(),
    "app_SRCreatePageDef");
    Reset the product list to the first item:
    DCIteratorBinding productsIter =
    dcBindings.findIteratorBinding("findAllProductsIter");
    productsIter.setCurrentRowIndexInRange(0);
    Clean out the description field:
    AttributeBinding problem =
    (AttributeBinding)dcBindings.getControlBinding("problemDescription");
    problem.setInputValue(null);
    Navigate back to the list page
    return "GlobalHome";
    and in ADF UTILS the method findBindingContainer is defined as
    public static BindingContainer findBindingContainer(BindingContainer bindings, String pageDefName){
    BindingContext bctx = ((DCBindingContainer)bindings).getBindingContext();
    BindingContainer foundContainer = bctx.findBindingContainer(pageDefName);
    return foundContainer;
    plus in source code of cancelbutton window message gives error BindingContainer findBindingContainer(BindingContainer bindings, String pageDefName) cannot invoke BindingContainer findBindingContainer(BindingContainer bindings, String pageDefName)(ADFUTILS)

    JPEGImageEncoder isn't a JMF class...so this isn't a JMF question. You need to go to the appropriate forum, which would be Java2D, I believe.
    Also, is there a specific reason you're not just capturing from your web camera directly?

  • JSF newbie question - ServletException - Method not found

    I just started learning JSF (and JSP) by following the tutorial:
    JSF for nonbelievers: Clearing the FUD about JSF
    http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/library/j-jsf1/
    I'm getting a ServletException and I'm not sure why. Instead of starting the tutorial over, I'd like to learn what I'm doing wrong.
    The exception is:
    exception
    javax.servlet.ServletException: Method not found: [email protected]()
    root cause
    javax.el.MethodNotFoundException: Method not found: [email protected]()In the calculator.jsp page (a simple page with two form fields), I noticed that when I type CalcBean., my IDE (NetBeans) only autocompletes the class variables and neither of the methods (add and multiply). I quickly searched and someone suggested restarting the server. This did not fix my problem. I must be doing something completely wrong or I missed something in the tutorial. If you don't mind, please read the simple files below and see if you can spot anything wrong. Please keep in mind this is my first time using JSF (and JSP for that matter). If you can suggest a better newbie tutorial, please do! Thanks

    In the future, please add some line breaks so I don't have to scroll horizontally to read your post.
    The problem is that the CalcBean.add/.multiply method is requiring two parameters. This method should be parameter-less. When talking about action methods, they should return String and not take any parameters.
    So, remove the parameters. You collect a firstNumber and a secondNumber from the user. These are the numbers you want to add (or multiply). Use those values (instead of the parameters) to calculate the result.
    The code changes aren't too complicated. I'd write them out for you, but you seem interested in learning (which is great by the way!). Let me know if you need more help on this.
    CowKing
    ps - I see more problems with the code, and I haven't given you all the answers. I know, I'm mean. You'll learn better if you try to fix things on your own first. I've just given you enough info to overcome the immediate issue. =)

    Why doesn't it recognize 'round' as a valid function?
    XML Pub v5.6.3 lists "round" as one of xsl functions.
    Any idea or workaround?
    Thanks in advance.

    Any solution for the above problem?

    The following script class will write a log file entry. See if it will run for you.
    The script is using a class object that you might not have seen before. A little intro:  The top section is just for testing the class. Normally I just comment this out after the class is working well.  It should run right way. I would save the vbs file in the editor, That way when you are using autoactpath or currentscriptpath variables they will be able resolve the paths.
