Logging configuration problem

Hi all
I am working with JRun4. My problem is logging.
logging mechanism can send messages to these destinations:
1) The console screen
2) The Log file.
In both cases , logging information is obtained. but The console screen shows information which i print by System.out.println() , and The log file shows information which is Event generated. I want to store information in a file , which is given by System.out.printlln().
I have done entries in jrun.xml as
<service class="jrunx.logger.LoggerService" name="LoggerService">
<attribute name="format">{server.date} {log.level}{log.exception}</attribute>
<attribute name="errorEnabled">true</attribute>
<attribute name="warningEnabled">true</attribute>
<attribute name="infoEnabled">true</attribute>
<attribute name="debugEnabled">false</attribute>
<attribute name="metricsEnabled">true</attribute>
<attribute name="metricsLogFrequency">60</attribute>
<attribute name="metricsFormat">Web threads(busy/total): {jrpp.busyTh}/{jrpp.totalTh} Sessions: {sessions} Total Memory={totalMemory} Free={freeMemory}</attribute>
<service class="jrunx.logger.ThreadedLogEventHandler" name="ThreadedLogEventHandler" >
<service class="jrunx.logger.ConsoleLogEventHandler" name=":service=ConsoleLogEventHandler"/>
<service class="jrunx.logger.FileLogEventHandler" name="FileLogEventHandler">
<attribute name="filename">{jrun.rootdir}/logs/{jrun.server.name}-event.log</attribute>
<attribute name="rotationSize">200k</attribute>
<attribute name="rotationFiles">3</attribute>
<attribute name="closeDelay">5000</attribute>
<attribute name="deleteOnExit">false</attribute>
</service>
</service>
</service>
what should i do for this?
Please guide me.

You should put it in the root of your classes (Ex: with JBuilder is
$projecthome/classes)

  • Log-Configuration.xml Problems

    Hi, I have been trying to use log-configuration.xml but it seems like i cannot get it to work at all.
    From what i understand, once i deploy my application, i should be able to edit the config via the Visual Administrator. However, after i deploy my app, i am still unable to see it with visual administrator. furthermore, i cannot find the file anywhere on the sever. Also, my settings are not reflected in the behaviour of the defaultTrace.
    Am i suppose to be able to find the "log-configuration.xml" file in the server if i have done the correct steps? If so, what are the likely mistakes i have made? I am at my wits end, anyone can help me?
    Just to add, this post seems to describe exactly my situation except i have no idea how to "manually" correct it... log-configuration.xml outside META-INF due to NWDS
    TIA!

    Hi Rajeshkr,
    Sorry, i am kinda new to web dynpro and sap in general so i may need you to be more explicit
    I am not quite sure what this part means or how to check "...has been deployed successfully in the deploy node of the visual Node and check for the Log Configuratior Node and check for your deployed application...."
    What i did do is go to the server to and search the entire directory structure for the log-configuration.xml but could not find it. Also, the config cannot be seen via the log-configurator in visual administration engine which its supposed too i think. and lastly the behavoiur i set in the log-configuration.xml is not reflected in the defaultTrace
    Then i saw this post so i went to check the EAR file in my workspace and found that it was just like Manik described.
    Maybe u could check this link where i posted more about my problem Log-Configuration.xml Problems
    I would love to award points if it helps

  • Problem loading log-configuration.xml

    Dear Experts!
    I am developing J2EE application. I created file log-configuration.xml using SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and put it into META-INF directory in ear file. If I use SDM to deploy ear, it displays message that deployment is successful. But Logging categories and trace locations are not created (I checked it using Visual Administrator -> Log Configurator). When I run my application it writes messages to defaultTrace instead of destination described in log-configuration.xml.
    I checked logs of J2EE server and logs of SDM. No error messages.
    Where is my mistake? Any ideas are welcome.
    WBR,
    Anton

    Hi Anton,
    Last week I was trying to explore more on the Logging and Tracing concept and I followed these documents.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f361cbea-0c01-0010-a3a0-8948bebb0a23
    /people/sap.user72/blog/2004/11/10/log-configuration-for-a-web-dynpro-application
    The Logging categories and trace locations are created and I was able to see the application specific logs in the specified location.
    Also try to create a blank .log file on the server and then try running your application.

    Rekha Malavathu

    Hello,
    1)
    May be the problem is a network connectivity issue. Do one thing copy the "cahce" folder from some other client PC(which has successfully opened IR and ID) to your client PC. The folder resides in "C:Documents and Settings<yourUserProfile>Application DataSunJavaDeploymentjavaws".
    Copy "cache" folder to your client PC under the above path.

    Click on Administration -> Java™ Web Start -> Java™ Web Start Administration ->
    Try
    1. Re-initialization (then try logging)
    2. Re-initialization and force-signing (then try logging)
    3. Delete lock (then try logging)
    Do this for IR and ID tabs.
    3) Check can be a firewall issue.

  • Can't run form from Form Builder 10g - Port configuration problem?

    Hi,
    I have installed the Database (10.2.0.1.0) and the Developer Suite (10.1.2.0.2) on two Linux machines (Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 Basic).
    If I enter the frmservlet-URL manually everything seems to be fine.
    In one case I enter http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet, in the other http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet; in BOTH cases I get eventually a dark square and the status bar says "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started".
    HOWEVER, if I create a simple form with Form Builder and click on the Button with the green traffic light ("Run Form"), the form runs only on the machine where frmservlet listens on port 8890.
    On the other machine (frmservlet configured to listen on port 8889) Firefox pops up, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:32979/6dOrpwghCqnp8PhMT7KVT533m3IaArqFbPqPBOztZXWYSsNy" gets called, and nothing else happens. The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and it stays like this forever.
    I assume this is a port configuration problem, but I don't have a clue where to start.
    Any suggestions how I should proceed are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I doublechecked my configuration.
    In the dialog Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime the Application Server URL is set to "127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet".
    However, when I attempt to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33140/W2dwbV9eXS2fPkuKlxNhCxFWdEihwDviat2uV7ycrSotqwDN" gets called.
    The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and that's it.
    I wonder how the port number 33140 got selected. Interestingly, this time it is a different number; last time it was port 32979. In fact, the port number seems to change each time; I tried again and now it is 33189.
    I will now try to set the port number for the frmservlet to 8890.
    I choose Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime and set the application server URL to "127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet".
    I stop the container, open /home/oracle/OraHome_1/j2ee/DevSuite/config/default-web-site.xml and change the port number to 8890:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone='yes'?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-site PUBLIC "Oracle Application Server 10g XML Web-site" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/web-site.dtd">
    <!-- change the host name below to your own host name. Localhost will -->
    <!-- not work with clustering -->
    <!-- also add cluster-island attribute as below
    <web-site host="localhost" port="0" protocol="ajp13"
    display-name="Default Oracle Application Server 10g Java WebSite" cluster-island="1" >
    -->
    <web-site port="8890" protocol="http"
    display-name="Oracle Developer Suite 10g instance of Oracle Containers for J2EE Web Site">
    <!-- Uncomment the following line when using clustering -->
         <!-- <frontend host="your_host_name" port="80" /> -->
         <!-- The default web-app for this site, bound to the root -->
         <default-web-app application="default" name="defaultWebApp" root="/j2ee" />
    <!-- Do not delete this line. -->
    <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" />
    <!-- -->
    <!-- <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" /> -->
    <web-app application ="reports" name="web" root="/reports" />
    <web-app application = "reports" name="demo" root="/repdemo" />
         <!-- Access Log, where requests are logged to -->
         <access-log path="../log/default-web-access.log" />
    </web-site>
    I restart the container, start Form Builder, connect to the database, and open my test form.
    When attempting to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33437/Pl0n3ky9vmU5z37A7ScBnQhsGwq3jwuzJpgTAKWPMOYIzT8K" gets called (again a new port number, apparently picked radomly within a certain range) and nothing happens: "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...".
    However, when I enter the URL http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet I do (eventually, after confirming that I trust the certificate etc.) get a darc rectangle and the status message "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started", which tells me that my setup can't be that far off target.
    Here is the output of netstat:
    [root@localhost ~]# netstat -anp --tcp

  • Configuring problem..again! h-e-l-p!

    So, I switched to the Linksys router after my other router would not be recognized by my computer. Configuring problems. Then I get this one..and the directions are so easy, I don't think that anything can go wrong. I have followed the directions exactly, all the proper lights are on..but once it gets to the installation part where it has to configure...it says that there is an error! Again! NOOO! I want this to work more than anything, so I hope someone may be able to help me. The first time I tried it said there was a problem sending a language pack? Then I pressed retry and the next time it said there was a data sending error. I pressed retry once again and the configuring would not go past 0% before 5 or so minutes passed and that dreadful "Data sending error!" and then "failure configuring router, would you like to try again?" screens came up!
    Someone pleassssse help!

    Just log into the router at 192.168.1.1 and configure it manually. No need to use the cd.

    Now I am able to access the logon page of the access manager.
    But the problem as I mention in (https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2549716) my ObSSOCookie value is still loggedcontinue.
    My Authentication return (ExecutionStatus.SUCCESS) Successful from the Java Code , and I am unable to login in the application. The thing is I can't manipulate ObSSOCookie from Java code.
    I have apply Patch 12363955 to resolve this issue. But this patch is now to resolve this issue.
    Have you any idea how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks

  • Deployment of Logging configuration

    Hi,
    I have a problem, when I deploy an EAR-DC with a log-configuration.xml.
    I cant see in the Visual Administrator (under Cluster->J2E->Server 0
    0_..->Services->Deploy) the log configuration deployment. There was no
    error/warning after the deployment in the console.
    I have another EAR-DC and there I configured this xml-File similar and everything works fine.
    Regards,
    Trian

    I'm not sure whether you have the same problem as I have:
    I deployed EAR from NWDS and log configuration didn't change even if I had created log-configuration.xml. Then I found this file in root of EAR instead of inside META-INF folder. I made manual modificaton to that and manually deployed. And configuration worked. Still I want to have correct deployment automatically from NWDS.

  • ACE4710 logging configuration

    Dear all
    I have a problem with logging configuration in the different contexts.
    logging works fine in some contexts and in others not. As far as I know the logging configuration needs to have some resources configured in the contexts but so far I wasn't able to get the logging running in all contexts. If someone please can tell me how to configure the resources to get the logging running or can point me to the appropriate documentation.
    best regards
    Werner

    Hi Werner,
    This is the documentation about it:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/ace/vA5_1_0/configuration/virtualization/guide/config.html#wp1262573
    It sounds that some of the Context were eating all the syslog resources. At the moment you configure the syslog resource basically you hardcode a amount of resources to this Context and thats why now the syslog are sent.

  • Windows 7 x64, Outlook 2010 and iCloud configuration - error "Outlook configuration problem"

    I'm running Windows 7 x64
    I had iCloud 1.x working with Outlook 2007 x32.  A few months back I upgraded to Office 2010 x64, which (of course) broke the iCloud integration.  I've waited for the "fix", and have now tried to get it working again with iCloud 2.11.   I've tried repairing, I've uninstalled/reinstalled iCloud, I've set different default profiles, I've changed mail accounts...nada.
    No matter what I do, when I get to the point of opening up the iCloud configuration and try to set up Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc.  I immediately get the following error:
    "Outlook configuration problem.
    Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile.  Check your Outlook settings and try again."
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

  • Log-Configuration-xml

    Hello!
    I configured log-configuration.xml in Developer Studio in this way:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE log-configuration SYSTEM "log-configuration.dtd">
    <log-configuration>
         <log-formatters>

                   type="Trace-Formatter"></log-formatter>
         </log-formatters>
         <log-destinations>
              <log-destination
                   count="5"
                   effective-severity="DEBUG"
                   limit="2000000"
                   name="FMLDestination"
                   pattern="./log/applications/de.FileModule/FML_default.log"
                   type="FileLog">
                   <formatter-ref
                        name="FileModuleLogger"></formatter-ref>
              </log-destination>
         </log-destinations>
         <log-controllers>
              <log-controller
                   bundle-name="de"
                   effective-severity="DEBUG"
                   name="de.FileModule">
                   <associated-destinations>

                   </associated-destinations>
              </log-controller>
         </log-controllers>
    </log-configuration>
    Unfortunately after deploying of the ear-project I cannot find it in the Visual Admin. Shouldn´t there be a location-node "de" in the Location-tree? "destinations" and "formatters" also ignore my Logger.
    Can anyone see my mistake?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Peter!
    I have found the same problem in my application, the log-configuration.xml is not deployed correctly... did you finally solve it automatically?

  • How to package log configuration into META-INF folder of an SDA

    Hi all,
    I work with Developer Studio 2.0.20. After some struggle I managed to configure my DCs by a a deployed log-configuration.xml.
    I use a "Portal Application Standalone (Packed in SDA)" DC to package and deploy. The created SDA contains a META-INF folder and a PAR file. If I copy the log-configuration.xml file manually into the META-INF folder of the SDA then the log-configuration.xml is used by the server.
    Now, my problem is, that I did not manage to have the log-configuration.xml automatically included in the META-INF folder of the SDA. Does anyone now how this can be accomplished with Dev Studio 2.0.20?
    Thanks for your attention,
    --Stefan

    You may add any .txt file as add manifest file or you click the "edit manifest" toolbar button to add comtent for manifest file...
    it will create meta-inf folder automatically.
    At least the tool can save lot of your time.
