Logging doesn't work from my Struts portlet

I've got a Struts portlet that uses (or tried to use) Log4J logging. I don't get any logging - not even .log file creation. When the OC4J instance starts up it gives a warning about not having the Log4J system initialized properly. I have a log4j.properties in my WEB-INF/classes directory so I don't understand why it gives this warning, though.
Is Struts overriding Log4J logging with its commons-logging.jar?
I also don't get an application.log file which the portlet should create in the applications-deployment/ directory.
Has anyone run into this with a Struts portlet?

I should have mentioned that I'm deploying my Struts Portlet in a local OC4J (with PDK support) and using it as a provider to a remote Oracle Portal. For some reason OC4J doesn't recognize the log4j.properties that is in my WEB-INF/classes directory.
I've also got a TAR opened with Oracle Tech. support and when they deployed my .ear file to a Portal they get an application.log file which I do not get. There must be something on my local OC4J that prevents any logging (neither the application.log or the log4j .log file gets created on my local OC4J).

I configured skill search and it works fine from search center, but it doesn't work from Lync client. An error appears says"error occurred during the search, please try again".

Autoreaction doesn't work from client 000 but works from other clients

We set up a new local auto-reaction.   This is not a central auto-reaction. The auto-reaction writes a
message to the UNIX system log /var/adm/messages when a "Security"
alert i.e. - Logon, RFCLogon, TransactionStart, etc. occurs.
The RZ20 alerts are being properly generated and can be seen in both
the CEN system and the local system. On the local system if I view
all alerts for the MTE using transaction RZ20 and select one of the
alerts and choose Edit -> Nodes ( MTE ) -> Start methods -> Start auto-
reaction method. The auto-reaction writes the message to the UNIX
system log. If I execute the same procedure in client 000 nothing is
written to the UNIX system log.
I've also tried triggering a new alert and running SAPMSSY8 from SE38
while the alert is still in status ACTION_REQUIRED. If I do this from
client 010, an entry is written to the unix system log. If I do this
from client 000, nothing is written to the unix system log. In both
cases, the status of the alert changes from ACTION_REQUIRED to ACTIVE.
Since the System Cyclic program ( SAPMSSY6 ) that triggers SAPMSSY8
always runs in client 000, the auto-reaction never writes the messages
to the UNIX system log.
I have been working on this issue for days. There are several posts and notes relevant to a similar situation with e-mail alerts that are not working from client 000 because SAPCONNECT is not set up in client 000.   However, this auto-reaction does not send an e-mail, so SAPCONNECT set-up should not be necessary.   I've searched Service Marketplace and could not find any notes that resolved the problem either.
I've also checked CCMS Self-Monitoring and cannot find any alerts or errors relevant to this problem.
Does anyone know why the auto-reaction only works from a client other than client 000?

I can tell you their first question: does it work with Acrobat XI? There will be no fixes for Acrobat X.

I found the solution .,,,
1) click on your current plan and press done your payment details will appear .
2) the first section is your plan and there is a botton "change" click on it
3) it will take you back to the upgrade options
4) press on the downgrade options
5) choose the 5 GB and the done botton will be enabled
6) click on it you'll back to the step number 2 , here read carefully you'll see that your changes will take effect after the current plan expired with the date.

The phone does not charge when linking with adaptor. But it is OK when linking PC using USB instead. I do not know why, but I am just sure there is something wrong with the adaptor.

[SOLVED] KDE Start New Session doesn't work from lock screen

On my laptop, if I lock the KDE 4 session and then click Switch Users > Start New Session, I get a login screen and can log in as a different user. All good.
If I do the same thing on my desktop, it doesn't work. When I click Switch Users > Start New Session, it doesn't start a new session or switch VTs. Instead, I just get reprompted for the existing user's password.
Both machines are running fully updated Arch. Anyone know how I can troubleshoot this? The only difference I can think of between the laptop and desktop is that the desktop has nomodeset specified as a kernel boot parameter. (It won't boot without it.) Could this be interfering with automatic VT switching? Manual VT switching (e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F1) works fine.

Little more detail. Checking the journal, I can see Xorg is failing to start on display :1. If I compare Xorg.0.log with Xorg.1.log, it appears that it's not finding the proprietary NVIDIA driver in the second case. Don't know why it would be any different for :1, though. See?

Any idea what would cause it to work for :0 but fail for :1?

My keyboard doesn't work from the login screen, but when I login as a guest user it works fine (minus the brightness buttons, playback buttons, etc.).

I've already switched out the batteries and the keyboard works fine, so I fear it might be some sort of bug? All the methods of restarting or resetting certain settings can only be done from the login screen or from within an account, when the keyboard doesn't work, and the guest options are limited to non existent.

Try doing a SMC reset, you may need to do this 2-3 times as sometimes the reset doesn't always "take" the first time. To do a SMC reset, shut down the computer, unplug the power cord from the wall and computer, wait 15-20 seconds and restart normally and test. If after 2-3 resets it still does not work test another keyboard. If that keyboard works then this indicates your keyboard has failed and needs to be replaced.

Get-DfsrBacklog cmdlet doesn't work from remote computer (pssession)

I try to manage our Server 2012 R2 boxes from a Windows 7 remote machine using PowerShell. For some reason the cmdlet "Get-DFSRbacklog" seems not working remotly. The same cmdlet work when logging in locally to the server(s) with the
same credentials. UAC is turned off on the target machines and i have local admin permissions on this servers using my domain account.
What i do is:
Enter-PSSession <servername>
Get-DfsrBacklog -SourceComputerName <servername> -DestinationComputerName <servername>
Then i receive the following error:

Printing doesn't work from remote computer.

I used to be able to print from my windows laptop to my linux printer.
I recently upgraded stuff to get a new xorg and am now having problems.
Printing works fine locally. Here's the debug log from cups.
I see httpgets getting nothing, but I don't know how to find out why.
How can I track down the problem?

Cups has done their usual great job of upgrading, breaking things, and not mentioning it.
What version of cups. 1.2.0 broke samba, though that was fixed.
Also, the new default cupsd.conf only allows printing from local host. In addition to the advice given above you can increase the debug level, changing LogLevel from info to debug2.
Samba logs might also be helpful.
FWIW, we have an Arch box doing some print serving, but I haven't upgraded it in awhile. (I upgrade on test machines first, and saw that there were some problems with cups, so I've left it alone--also on production machines, there's a lot of truth to the adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
One thing to try, in regards to troubleshooting, is to go into cupsd.conf and allow All in the <Location> directive and see if that helps. If it fixes the problem, you can then tighten it up. (Also put allow before deny.) I ~think~ (I only have on box with a brand new cupsd.conf--on the others, I'm using pre 1.2.0 configs, and on the new one, I've already edited it so I don't have a sample) that by default, it puts allow first, has allow from localhost, and so by default, everything else is denied.
Is the Windows box using ipp or samba. That is, did you add the printer to the Windows machine with \servernameprintername?
Good luck--Cups came by its nickname of C(an't)U(sually)P(rint) S(tuff--or other, more vulgar words) honestly. Gotta love their manpages too, it's the only one I've come across where they mention an option without telling what it does---their lpadmin page lists the -x option with no explanation--for the curious, -x will delete a printer.

Wifi suddenly doesn't work from time to time (OSX 10.9.5)

I am having this problem a while now and I have tried many different fixes, which all didn't help me.
My Problem is that sometimes my MBPr (Late 2013) just stops the WiFi connectivity. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It's completely random and extremely annoying. When I connect to any other WiFi network, it's the same thing. OS X doesn't give me some real error either. It just says that I am supposed to go nearer to the source of signal, which is nonsense, since the router is directly besides my MacBook. Furthermore, since this problem is independent from the used network, it has to be a problem of the laptop.
Funnily, after a while, WiFi works like nothing happened.
Do you guys have any idea?

I do not know whether or not it will address your issue, but I would reset the SMC. Since it is the same problem on other networks, it appears the problem is related to your computer.

Import doesn't work from compact flash card

Trying to import photos directly from memory card into LR. Tried 2 ways. First, using a memory card reader, LR did not react to the presence of the card in the reader, even though the reader showed as a drive in My Computer. Secondly, tried connecting directly from my camera (Nikon D200) --- a windows window came up asking how to handle images, but LR was not on the list, and the LR import function (window) did not pop up. Any ideas how to get the LR import pop up to pop? Thanks.

From reading the posts to this thread (and others), I tried a hunch and went to the LR directory on C: drive and found the executable for adobe downloader. I double-clicked on the .exe file, and "installed" this program. This placed the camera icon in the right taskbar, and then tried to download images from the same card into LR. As soon as I did that, LR's import photos dialog box popped up ... so it works now. Not sure why the adobe downloader did not get installed when I installed the LR program.
Another question now. I've got the properties of the downloader set that it will install itself in my right taskbar everytime I boot up. Is there any way to get the downloader initializes whenever I need up ... so that I don't have unnecessary things getting installed at boot? I see I can disable after it gets loaded at boot ... but would prefer to not have it install and then allow me to initialize when I am ready to use it.

Web SAPconsole doesn't work from remote host

we have a SAPconsole server (Win XP EN, SP2, last windows update). win a full SAPgui 6.40 comp 5 with SP23.
SAPconsole with a telnet server works fine in local and in remote hosts.
Web SAPconsole works fine in local but when I try from a remote host such a PC with IE6 with right url we stay in wait status forever... no error message ora other warning.
Have you have any idea ?

although I do not know if XP (which version?) is officially supported it should work, please remember that XP probably has a (crippled: max 10 connections) IIS5 on it and win2003 comes with a IIS6. Since you stated that it works locally it must be something with you IIS, network or firewall security settings.
Please upgrade your web/sapconsole to the latest patch for 640 since there are known concurrency issues for the patches < 25.
