Logging in with md5 passwords.

Hi,
How is it possible to allow users to login when their passwords, have been encrypted into md5?
Thank you.

You encrypt the submitted value and compare it to the stored value.
The way I do this with the Dreamweaver Log In User server behavior is to add this at the top of the login page:
if (isset($_POST['password'])) {
  $_POST['password'] = md5($_POST['password']);

Which keyboard layout you were using? German, French ... I suppose your layout is reset to the default: US and you are unable to find the "?" or "/" ...
Please have a look into the keyboard viewer, to see how the layout of your keyboard is actually.

  • Itunes on iphone won't let me log in with correct password

I have been all over the forums trying every options I have found. But when I go to update my apps my iphone/itunes asks for my password again. I have double and triple checked my password and it is correct. It is logging me in to my cloud, to the apple website etc. I am not typing it in wrong, believe me I have checked that as well. I have gone and reset the cache and reset the warnings in itunes. I have updated the software. I have made sure my icloud password is retyped in. What else can I do? I don't know what to try. I have reset the password and it still won't let me log in with the new, correct password. This has been going on for the past 3 months and nothing.

Yes, it is showing my apple id. And no, I don't have any other apple id's. I have gone into my settings into iTunes and App Store and signed out and signed back in in the apple id section. It connects no problem in my settings. But when I'm actually in the app store "App" and it prompts me for my password it comes back saying that the apple id and or password is incorrect.

  • LDAP authentication with MD5 passwords

    Hi,
in one of our Linux servers we have MD5 passwords stored in /etc/shadow. We want to implement pam_ldap on that machine, and move passwords to an LDAP database.
I know it is to be done with {crypt} storage scheme.
This works with DS 5.2 running on a Linux box, but under Solaris 8 I couldn't get it working. I know that Solaris 8 doesn't support MD5 passwords in its crypt(3) function, and I suppose Directory Server uses that. Somewhere I read that, however crypt() in Solaris 9 does support MD5.
Can you confirm that after upgrading to Solaris 9, authentication with MD5-hashed passwords will be possible? Has anyone tried it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kristof

    Thanks you for your reply.
    Our openldap version is openldap-2.3.39

    Hello to everyone,
We are trying to enable ldap authentication with pam_ldap and md5 passwords on a Solaris 10 system to an openldap server. If passwords are stored using crypt, everything works correctly. But if the password in openldap is in md5, then authentication fails.

  • Log In Error "Can't log in" with my password - Win...

I log in to my microsoft account on Windows 8, usually Skype will just automatically connect.  Recently it will say "can't sign in, please type in your password" and it pops up my microsoft account information as log in name and then I type in the SAME exact password I just used seconds ago to sign into my computer and it says "can't sign in."  Then I have to go to live.login and change my password.  I have done this more than a handful of times in the past month.  It happens on my computer and also on my phone.
As soon as I change my password, I go to my skype, type it in, and it works fine.  I am pretty sure the problem is with Skype and not my microsoft account because I can still log in to my computer and my hotmail just fine.
I am tired of having to change my password all of the time!! It happens at least once a week.  It is particularly annoying, say, when on my lunch break I would like to just call my boyfriend overseas, but since skype can't recognize my password (even though it hasn't been changed and it is usually always automatically connected) I have to go to change my password (which includes me accessing an alternative email and typing in a code and blah bla hblah" from my phone.
    WHAT GIVES ????

Have you enabled the optional "two-step verification" login option?

    Hi...
My credit card is from El Salvador And I can't buy english movies?
Your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • Migration Users with MD5 Passwords to Directory Server 6.1 on Solaris 10

    Hi,
We are currently in a requirement of migrating some users to a application database to inside LDAP. Currently Application maintained the passwords in the MD5 hash form. Typical 32 digit Hex value - 41da76f0fc3ec62a6939e634bfb6a342
Is there a way we can migrate these Users password to directory Server as-is so that they don't end up facing the prospect of resetting post migration.
I have done some of the initial ground work but seems to be missing other critical info if at all it's possible.
I believe it's possible to have CRYPT password policy (which directory server uses from underlying OS) as one of the plug-ins to configure in a way that underlying CRYPT utility starts to process/provide/support MD5 hashes. I got it to work, my using the below command on DSEE instance:
    dsconf set-plugin-prop -p 389 CRYPT argument:'$md5$'
But for some reasons the MD5 hash (Sun MD5 library) provides does not match with the original hash value. It's 22 char long (as I have not specified any salt length) so I am assuming it's Base64 encoded. I have a perl script which converts the original 32-digit hex values to a base64 encoded representation (which I have also verified with other open source tools)
Is there a way I can tweak CRYPT utility or something so that it understands typical standard MD5 hashes. (Confused between Sun MD5 and BSD (Linux) MD5 - none of them seems to match standard MD5 generated value).
Any leads on this would be really helpful ?

Just to reclarify or throw more information:
    a password - cleartext value - testuser1 has 32-digit HEX value as - 41da76f0fc3ec62a6939e634bfb6a342
Same password when converted to Base64 pattern becomes - Qdp28Pw+xippOeY0v7ajQg==
But when I use pwdhash utility in DSE after configuring CRYPT to use MD5 hashes it becomes -
    {crypt}$md5$$LiB/H70zXr3xfQPoXVuUQ1
    I used below command :
    pwdhash -D /opt/SUNWdsee/dsee6/ds6/slapd-oha-dev -s CRYPT testuser1
Actual hash value of pwdhash is -LiB/H70zXr3xfQPoXVuUQ1 with rest of the prefix is to meet RFC standard and salt and algo name separator.
I am wondering if Sun MD5 default uses any salt even when I haven't used or DS does it. Or if any other MD5 option is there which can be used.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

  • Stuck at startup and can't log in with valid password

    Hi,
I have a MBP late 2011 and can't get past the startup screen with my valid password. After inputting my password the screen flashes and prompts me to input my password again (the password bar does not shake). If I go into safe mode, the same thing occurs. Note that I have no guest account either. I've tried PRAM reset and repaired disk via Disk Utlilty. I've also tried /sbin/fsck -fy. I have no installation CD either. Is there any other options I could try?
Before this happened, I tried to plug in my HDMI to my external monitor but got a random grey screen I couldn't avoid. After many hard resets I'm faced with this problem.
    Thanks

The lack of a backup history makes this problem very hard to solve.
Erase and install OS X. This operation will destroy all data on the startup volume, so you had be better be sure of the backups. If you upgraded from an older version of OS X, you'll need the Apple ID and password that you used.
When you restart, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process in Setup Assistant. That’s when you transfer the data from a backup.
Select only users and Computer & Network Settings in the Setup Assistant dialog—not Applications or Other files and folders. Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled.
    After that, run Software Update.
If the problem is resolved after the clean installation, reinstall third-party software selectively. I can only suggest general guidelines. Self-contained applications that install into the Applications folder by drag-and-drop or download from the App Store are usually safe. Anything that comes packaged as an installer or that prompts for an administrator password is suspect, and you must test thoroughly after reinstalling each such item to make sure you haven't restored the problem.
I strongly recommend that you never reinstall commercial "security" products or "utilities," nor any software that changes the user interface or the behavior of built-in applications such as Safari. If you do that, the problem is likely to recur.
Before installing any software, ask yourself the question: "Am I sure I know how to uninstall this without having to wipe the volume again?" If the answer is "no," stop.
Never install any third-party software unless you know how to uninstall it.

  • HT1689 I changed my apple I'd and password but my old I'd keeps coming up and I can't log in with new password

I have an iPad.  Couldn't remember password do I changed user name and password.  How do I get the old user name to stop popping up when I want to sign in for a purchase at iTunes?

Did you create a new account or did you update your existing account ? You can log out of the currently logged in account by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and you can then log back in. If you created a new account then your existing purchases will remain tied to your old account.
