Dear all,
From SCCM 2012 R2 , is it possible to force log off client machines ?
Thanks.

Thanks, i just want to reconfirm . We need to log off all the client machines.
Hope options are create a log off package and deploy it or else if we are deploying any new package we can set after deploy it can log off.

  • Applescript to log in client machines not working on Mavericks

I have been using this terminal command to log in to a local account:
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events"' -e 'keystroke "USERNAME"' -e 'keystroke tab' -e 'delay 0.5' -e 'keystroke "PASSWORD"' -e 'delay 0.5' -e 'keystroke return' -e 'end tell'
And up until Mavericks, it worked perfectly. Under Mavericks, nothing happens when I run the script following a client restart.
If I physically visit the client machine, and click the mouse, it'll drop the cursor in the user name box, and the log in script will work. If I don't click the mouse, then the cursor will not be in the box. No "keystroke tab" or any other key press will get the cursor into the box, only a physical click.
I've tried several scripts that simulate a mouse click, but they don't work. It takes a mouse physically being clicked to make the cursor appear.
So, does anyone know how to get a client log in script working in Mavericks? It would greatly speed up my process.

I've noticed that the Login window in Mavericks is not active without a Mouse Click if it has been sitting on the login screen  for a while or after restart.
You can't just start typing a user name to get it to select that user. You must click on the screen, first.
I have filed a bug report, but I haven't received any response.
It might be related to that same issue.

  • Java dying when user logs off machine

I have developed a class that monitors a MQ queue, I used the active-x bridge to allow distribution to both java and VB developers to use. The application that is to be developed should be running on a machine in the background.
I created a test VB program using the java class and created a "scheduled task" to start on system start up. When I start the machine, the application starts up and runs. Then a user logs into the machine, and application is still running. Then the user logs off the machine, and the program stops.
I have a VB porgram without the java active-x bridge object and that works throughout the login/logout process.
Any thoughts on how I can keep the program running continously, thanks.

Well, I found a solution. If you add the paramater -Xrs to the java command, it will reduce the use OS signals. Thus it will ignore the hook that Windows has.
It turns out this was a bug in version 1.3. For some non-light reading and more info, see http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4323062.html

  • BI Services Getting down when Log-Off the system

    Hi All,
Recently I have installed BI 11.1.1.7.0 on window 2008 R2, everything working fine, when I log off the system my services automatically getting down, so that I could not work on BI Answers , so what needs to be done even if I log off my machine also the service need to run in the background, any inputs plz..
    Appreciate your quick Response !!!!!!!

The ear file contains the front end application from where the reports are called. I have created a new J2EE instance and deployed the application in the form of ear file there.
After tuning the opmn.xml file following Metalink Doc. Id 261867.1 adding a value of pingtimeout, I found the OC4J_BI_FORMS was not shutting down the inprocess reports server and I was unable to generate reports by giving values from URL. But when I deploy the ear file in the newly created J2EE instance, the OC4J_BI_FORMS is shutting down . Now when I try to start the infrastructure components the OC4J_SEcurity is showing Database dependancy failed although OID and HTTP server components are up.

  • Logging query with information about ip client machine address

    Halo,
One of our most important requirements is logging user query (physical to database and logical) with following informations:
    - USER
    - SQL QUERY TEXT (logical/physical)
    - DATE and TIME executing query
    - IP ADDRESS client machine (or name of client machine) (this is very important information)
    We have following configuration:
    - BI Server with Presentation Servicess on one machine (AIX)
    - Web server on second machine (BEA Weblogic 9)
I've tested [USAGE_TRACKING] mechanism but thera are three problems with it:
    1. in S_NQ_ACCT in field NODE_ID is always written the same information: name of Web Server - WebLogic
    2. in S_NQ_ACCT are storages only logical queries.
    3. Length of field QUERY_TEXT is 1024. I'm sure that in many cases it'll be to short.
I've tested USER_LOG too (that logs to NQQuery.log file) but there are also some problems:
    1. there is no information about ip client machine but is information about physical and logical queries and other necessary informations
    2. oracle recommends turn off this mechanism on production system.
I've tested PRESENTATION SERVICESS log (it is configured at logconfig.xml file)
    1. In file is information about ip client machine
    2. In file are written only logical queries (this is big problem we also need physical queries)
Do you have some idea how to resolve my problem?
    Regards

hi, you can use the sys_context function, like this:
    select sys_context('userenv','current_user'),
         sys_context('userenv','os_user'),
         sys_context('userenv','host'),
         sys_context('userenv','ip_address'),
         sys_context('userenv','instance'),
         sys_context('userenv','sessionid'),
         sys_context('userenv','terminal')
    from dual;
Is this what you 're looking for?

What is the OS version of the PC you are running  and is it physical machine or virtual machine that is running the HRC client ..
OS Version Windows 7 Home Premium  64 bit and it’s a physical machine.
. The Max DB Connections for Report Client Sessions is set to 5 for each servers (There are two servers). The no of HR Sessions is set to 10.
I wanted to know if there is a way to find the HRC sessions active now and terminate the one or more or all of that sessions from the server end ?

We have had this "PRX5" problem with Exchange 2013 since the RTM version.  We recently applied CU3, and it did not correct the problem.  We have seen this problem on every Exchange 2013 we manage.  They are all installations where all roles
are installed on the same Windows server, and in our case, they are all Windows virtual machines using Windows 2012 Hyper-V.
We have tried all the "this fixed it for me" solutions regarding DNS, network cards, host file entries and so forth.  None of those "solutions" made any difference whatsoever.  The occurrence of the temporary error PRX5 seems totally random.
About 2 out of 20 incoming mail test by Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer fail with this PRX5 error.
Most people don't ever notice the issue because remote mail servers retry the connection later.  However, telephone voice mail systems that forward voice message files to email, or other such applications such as your scanner, often don't retry and
simply fail.  Our phone system actually disables all further attempts to send voice mail to a particular user if the PRX5 error is returned when the email is sent by the phone system.
Is Microsoft totally oblivious to this problem?
PRX5 is a serious issue that needs an Exchange team resolution, or at least an acknowledgement that the problem actually does exist and has negative consequences for proper mail flow.

  • Multiple OD users simultaneously logged in to one client machine?

I'd like to be able to have multiple OD network home folder users logged into a single client machine at a time. They would switch between themselves using Fast User Switching. I can't figure out how to make this work. Is this simply not possible or am I missing a configuration setting somewhere that allows this to happen?

The first thing that comes to mind is that the share point hosting the user's network home directory is already mounted as another user which would cause it to fail. When I try this the Login Window says the user is unable to log in- makes sense.
Next I tried creating another automount share point on the server (/Shared Items/More Users) and assigning the 2nd user to use that share point (so the homes are on different share points) and that appears to work. Not sure exactly how 'supported' this configuration is but it appears to work (in other words, your mileage may vary). Here are the mount command results from the client:
    mount
/dev/disk0s3 on / (hfs, local, journaled)
devfs on /dev (devfs, local, nobrowse)
/dev/disk0s2 on /Volumes/Loki (hfs, local, journaled)
map -hosts on /net (autofs, nosuid, automounted, nobrowse)
map auto_home on /home (autofs, automounted, nobrowse)
map -fstab on /Network/Servers (autofs, automounted, nobrowse)
trigger on /Network/Servers/server.domain.com/Users (autofs, automounted, nobrowse)
trigger on /Network/Servers/server.domain.com/Shared Items (autofs, automounted, nobrowse)
trigger on /Network/Servers/server.domain.com/Shared Items/More Users (autofs, automounted, nobrowse)
afp_3a2gxv44sbgc0lNAhO1lX1fO-1.2d000007 on /Network/Servers/server.domain.com/Shared Items/More Users (afpfs, nodev, nosuid, automounted, nobrowse, mounted by jupeman)
afp_3a2gxv44sbgc0lNAhO1lX1fO-1.2d000008 on /Volumes/Public (afpfs, nodev, nosuid, nobrowse, mounted by jupeman)

afp_3a2gxv44sbgc0lNAhO1lX1fO-1.2d00000a on /Volumes/Public-1 (afpfs, nodev, nosuid, nobrowse, mounted by rick)
As you can see, jupeman has mounted /Network/Servers/server.domain.com/Shared Items/More Users and rick has mounted /Network/Servers/server.domain.com/Users

I am trying to do a full Time Machine Backup to a new external disk. The backup starts, and it says "Time remaining about 4 days." That seems like a very long time, but the real problem is that the computer "logs off" after a few hours, and the backup stops. The system preferences are set to "Never" for Computer sleep and Display sleep. The computer does not ordinarily log off automatically, but it has done this twice since I started the Time Machine backup.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Select the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.
If all you see are messages that contain the word "Starting," you didn't clear the search box.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Some personal information, such as the names of your files, may be included — anonymize before posting.

  • Placing clients in untrusted after log off of AS SSO

I have a L3 OOB NAC deployment with AD SSO. Users are mapped to different roles depending on OU membership and then to different VLANs. What happens is that if a user with a certain role logs on to a client and is palced in his VLAN, say VLAN10, and then logs off the PC, the PC stays in VLAN10.
Another user from a different role now comes along and logs onto that same PC stays in that same VLAN, but really needs to move to another VLAN because he/she has a different role.
If the system is rebooted then everything works fine as the SNMP linkdown trap is sent to the NAM.
How can I cause the clients using AD SSO change the role of the port to unauthenticated when they log off the system? I know that this can work with in-band but i don't know if it can be done with OOB.

    Sachin,
OOB Logoff feature is coming in 4.8, due out in late summer. Currently what you're looking to do can't be done.

    Hi Kanchan,
So on each computer, you create a local user account that is a member of the Administrators group, and use the same account and password on each machine(controller and Agent), am I right?
Could you enable the detailed log message?

  • VAMT 3.0 Duplicate Client Machine ID Report showing excessive number of computers

We are running a KMS on a 2008 R2 VM with plenty of CPU, RAM and storage.  I recently configured and installed the Volume Activation Management Tool 3.0.  Everything seems to be working well except that reviewing the Volume License
Reports, specifically the Duplicate Client Machine ID Report, I noticed an excessive number (about 4 times the number of actual managed computers) are listed in this report node. Even assuming that computer images were not being sysprep'd this
seems really odd.  The License Overview shows 1,813 licensed and 1,678 unknown (possibly off or disconnected devices) and our duplicate CMID report shows about 8,300 plus.  What are the possible causes why this number is so high and how do I troubleshoot
    and remediate inaccuracies?

Duplicate CMID can come if you didnt used /generalize option when sysprep'ing. (http://blogs.technet.com/b/askcore/archive/2009/10/16/kms-host-client-count-not-increasing-due-to-duplicate-cmid-s.aspx)
Please check your KMS's log, to be sure if true or not. If duplicate, it will be logged by your KMS's host.
In virtual, like XenDesktop or View with a golden image it can easilly happen, as the CMID is kept by the server for the virtual's machine (aka the PVS for XenDesktop)

Hi Yagmoth555, thanks for the reply.  I know this is not the case for our environment as it's telling me that physical systems that were installed with the ISO have duplicate ID's.  Also, the previous version of VAMT that we were running didn't show
1,560 systems as having the same ID.  I have already deleted every "product" from the database and rescanned our environment, but I get the same result.

  • Intermittant disconnection of Shared Drives on Windows 7 Client machines hosted in WIndows Server 2008 Standard Edition

    The environment - Windows Server 2008 Standard/Windows 7 32 bit Client machine.
Share - It is not a DFS share.
    Antivirus - McAfee
The issue - 1 user is unable to connect to a particular shared drive hosted from within the Windows Server 2008 Standard file server.  This drive is one of the multiple drives which are supposed to be connected to the user machine during logon using
the logon script.  All the other drives mentioned in the logon script gets mapped fine but one particular drive does not.  The user uses a laptop and we have checked his connections while in LAN, Wireless, VPN.  Everything seems to be working
fine apart from this one shared drive.  Rest of the users within that office gets the drive fine but just not this one user.  Since we are not domain admins so we do not have a visibility of the group policies linked to this particular drive and
hence RSOP as well does not help.  We have not seen the user getting logged into the machine using a TEMP profile as well for us to ascertain that the issue may be with a TEMP profile logon.
Please note that the drive does get connected at times and at times the connection just drops off!  As an interim measure the local IT has created a batch file and given it to the user which maps the drive for the user.
Any help in resolving this long impending issue would be much appreciated!
    Suman

    Hi Suman,
You could keep the session always active to workaround this issue. Please open Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Local Security Policy -> Local Policy -> Security Options and set the value of the policy Microsoft Network Server:Amount
of idle time required before suspending a session to 99999 and see how it works.
This security setting determines the amount of continuous idle time that must pass in a Server Message Block (SMB) session before the session is suspended due to inactivity. Administrators can use this policy to control when a computer suspends an inactive
SMB session. If client activity resumes, the session is automatically reestablished. For this policy setting, a value of 0 means to disconnect an idle session as quickly as is reasonably possible. The maximum value is 99999, which is 208 days; in effect, this
    value disables the policy.

  • SSRS - Report on software deployment Exit Codes on client machines

    Hi,
Can anyone advise whether its possible to report on Software deployment Exit Codes on client machines, with a particular exit code and how many times the deployment has been retried?
    Example:
    Application deployment- App1
Failed with Exit code : 0x1388 (5000) Log off network
I would like to report on clients with App1 deployment failed with exit code 5000 and how many times on retry?
    Regards,
    Craig

Only the last return code can be queried (see the default SRS reports). Number of retries are not reported.

  • Anyway to overwrite network home on client machines to start fresh?

Had a user that had some objectionable things in his network home (sync's at log in and out). He has logged into many computers, so his stuff is everywhere. I deleted his network home on the server and created a new empty network home. Is there a way to overwrite the old network homes on the client machines with the new network home using Workgroup Manager?

How many computers are in your environment and do you have Remote Desktop?  If you have ARD, just select all the computers and run the command gracoat posted.  Again, though, just make sure the path and everything is accurate.  Conversely, if you have a relatively small number of computers (I'd say 30-40 would be about the max sanity limit), just go through them manually (could probably put a script on a flash drive to speed things up a bit).  Now, a lot of computers and no ARD, you may be stuck with the two options you listed.
Although, after typing all of that...  If you have it remove the home folder on logout, even if he logged into an old one and synced back to the server from it, wouldn't it just delete it off that computer when he logged out?  Sure, it would be back in his account, but it wouldn't continue to be spread around to other computers and would essentially self-sanitize itself from any computer he visits.  Of course, depending on exactly what the content is and your policy regarding it, you may have to deal with his account again, but it would just be in the single location of his mobile account.
