LogOnException thrown when calling ExportToStream

Hi there, <br>
<br>
I am having real problems when calling the ExportToStream method on the ReportDocument class.<br>
<br>
I am trying to load a CrystalReport that is held in a Database field, apply parameters to that report (the values for the parameters) are also held in another database table, and then export the report (complete with the parameterised values) back to another record in the DB.<br>
<br>
All goes swimmingly until I try to call ExportToStream to finally place the report (with params) back in DB. When I get to this call I get a LogOnException thrown (Message: "Logon failed.
Details: 08004:[Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Parse error: Invalid or missing keyword near 'DATABASE'
Error in File C:\DOCUME1\BARRY1.ROB\LOCALS~1\Temp\tmp16C {8CF0E4A7-E74C-41DC-BF7E-5871D40432E9}.rpt:
Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.").<br>
<br>
The code causing the excpetion is the call to ExportToStream below:<br>
public void ProcessQueuedReports(string connectionString, ProcessQueueMode processMode, string providerName)<br>
{ <br>
<br>
    List<ReportQueueDetails> queuedReportList = ReportQueueDetails.GetAllQueuedByPriority(connectionString);<br>
<br>
      if (queuedReportList.Count > 0)<br>
    {<br>
            int numberToProcess = ReturnNumberToProcess(processMode,
      queuedReportList.Count);<br>
          for (int count = 0; count < numberToProcess; count++)<br>
          {<br>
                SetQueueItemAsProcessing(queuedReportList[count]);<br>
                if (reportReader.LoadReport(connectionString,
        queuedReportList[count].ReportDetailsRef,
        queuedReportList[count].ReportQueueDetailsRef, providerName))<br>
                {<br>
                      ExportFormatType outputFormat =
        ReturnExportFormatType(queuedReportList[count].ReportFormatTypeCode);<br>
                Stream reportStream = new MemoryStream();<br>
                     reportReader.Report.ReportOptions.EnableSaveDataWithReport = false;<br>
                      reportStream = reportReader.Report.ExportToStream(outputFormat);<br>
                      byte[] reportData = new byte[(int)                reportStream.Length];<br>
                      int numBytesToRead = (int)reportStream.Length;<br>
                      int numBytesRead = 0;<br>
                      reportStream.Position = 0;<br>
                      while (numBytesToRead > 0)<br>
                      {<br>
                            int n = reportStream.Read(reportData, numBytesRead, numBytesToRead);<br>
                            if (n == 0)<br>
                                  break;<br>
                            numBytesRead += n;<br>
                            numBytesToRead -= n;<br>
                       }<br>
                      queuedReportList[count].ReportOutput = reportData;<br>
                      queuedReportList[count].Update(IyssDateTime.CurrentDatabaseDateTime);<br>
                      SetQueueItemAsSuccess(queuedReportList[count]);<br>
                }<br>
               else<br>
               {<br>
                      SetQueueItemAsFailed(queuedReportList[count]);<br>
               }<br>
          }<br>
     }<br>
}<br>
<br>
This is the LoadReport method called above:<br>
<br>
public bool LoadReport(string connectionString, int reportDetailsRef, int reportQueueRef, string providerName)<br>
{<br>
      bool LoadSuccess = false;<br>
      ReportDetails report = IyssReportDetails.GetByRef(reportDetailsRef,
    connectionString);<br>
      byte[] reportData = (byte[])report.ReportData;<br>
      int size = reportData.GetUpperBound(0);<br>
      string tempFilename = Path.GetTempFileName();<br>
      if (tempFilename != "")<br>
      {<br>
            FileStream fs = new FileStream(tempFilename, FileMode.OpenOrCreate,
      FileAccess.Write);<br>
            fs.Write(reportData, 0, size);<br>
            fs.Close();<br>
            try<br>
            {<br>
                  LoadSuccess = LoadReport(tempFilename, connectionString, providerName);<br>
                  ProcessReportParameters(connectionString, reportQueueRef);<br>
            }<br>
            finally<br>
            {<br>
                  //File.Delete(tempFilename);<br>
            }<br>
      }<br>
      return LoadSuccess;<br>
}<br>
<br>
The LoadReport method referenced in the above method is as follows:<br>
<br>
public bool LoadReport(string fileName, string connectionString, string providerName)<br>
{<br>
      bool LoadSuccess = false;<br>
      _report = new ReportDocument();<br>
      _report.Load(fileName);<br>
      LoadSuccess = _report.IsLoaded;<br>
      if (LoadSuccess)<br>
      {<br>
            if (_report.ParameterFields.Count > 0)<br>
                  ProcessReportParametersBasedOnReportInfo();<br>
            SetReportDataConnection(_report, connectionString, providerName);<br>
      }<br>
      return LoadSuccess;<br>
}<br>
<br>
And, what I guess is the crucial code, here is the SetReportDataConnection code:<br>
<br>
public void SetReportDataConnection(ReportDocument report, string connectionString, string providerName)<br>
{<br>
      string Locn;<br>
      if ((report != null) && (report.DataSourceConnections.Count > 0))<br>
      {<br>
            for (int count = 0; count < report.DataSourceConnections.Count; count++)<br>
            {<br>
                  string dsnName = GetDSNName(connectionString, providerName);<br>
                  ConnectionInfo connectionInfo = RetrieveConnectionInfoFromRegistry(dsnName);<br>
                  Tables tables = report.Database.Tables;<br>
                  foreach(Table table in tables)<br>
                  {<br>
                        TableLogOnInfo tableLogonInfo = null;<br>
                        tableLogonInfo = table.LogOnInfo;<br>
                        tableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName = connectionInfo.ServerName;<br>
                          tableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = "";<br>
                        tableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.UserID = connectionInfo.UserID;<br>
                        tableLogonInfo.ConnectionInfo.Password = connectionInfo.Password;<br>
                        table.ApplyLogOnInfo(tableLogonInfo);<br>
                        if (connectionInfo.UserID.ToUpper().CompareTo("DBA".ToUpper()) != 0)<br>
                        {<br>
                              Locn = table.Location;<br>
                              if (!Locn.StartsWith("Proc(", StringComparison.OrdinalIgnoreCase))<br>
                              {<br>
                                    if ((!Locn.StartsWith("DBA", StringComparison.OrdinalIgnoreCase))
             && (!Locn.StartsWith("SYS", StringComparison.OrdinalIgnoreCase)))<br>
                                          table.Location = "DBA." + Locn;<br>
                                  }<br>
                            }<br>
                      }<br>
                      report.DataSourceConnections[count].SetConnection
       (connectionInfo.ServerName, "", connectionInfo.UserID,
        connectionInfo.Password);<br>
                 }<br>
           }<br>
           if (!report.IsSubreport)<br>
           {<br>
                if (report.Subreports.Count > 0)<br>
                {<br>
                     for (int count = 0; count < report.Subreports.Count; count++)<br>
                     {<br>
                           SetReportDataConnection(report.Subreports[count], connectionString,
         providerName);<br>
                     }<br>
                }<br>
           }<br>
      }<br>
If anyone has any idea why the ExportToStream call in the first causes the Exception, or can point me in the direction of where I am going wrong in setting the report's data connection, I'd really appreciate it.<br>
<br>
Thanks In Advance<br>
<br>
<br>p.s. - tried to format this as best I could, apologies if it is not all that clear

You mention:
"Development language is C# Using Visual Studio .NET 2008
Reports written in version 11 of Crystal Report."
But what version is the CR runtime used in your .NET 2008 app? (e.g.; what is the version of the CR assemblies referenced in your app - say crystalDecisions.Crystalreports.engine.dll?)
Next, assuming you are using a version of CR supported with .NET 2008, I suppose the 1st question to ask is; is it export to stream, or is it incorrect db logon parameters that is causing the issue.
I'd recommend starting with the basics:
Simple app; viewer, load the report, let it do all the prompting. Does that work?
If yes, add the logon code to the above app, let it prompt for any parameter it needs. Does that work?
If yes, add the parameter code, does that work?
If all of the above works, try to export the report from the above app using the viewer export button. Does that work?
If that works, we're finally at the stage where we can point our finger at export to stream(?).

  • SEHException is thrown when calling PrintOutputController.Export (CRXIR2ES)

    Hi,
    I am using CRXIR2 server embedded to run reports on a .net desktop application.
    In one deployed environment, when trying to run one specific report, after calling:
    crystalByteArray = reportClientDocument.PrintOutputController.Export(CrReportExportFormatEnum.crReportExportFormatCrystalReports , 0);
    I get this exception:
    Error occured during report [2661].[Kathy Classification Test] execution in RAS

    Other reports run successfully on this environment, and this specific report runs successfully in all our test environemnts.
    This only happens in deployed environemnt.
    I can see in the profiler trace that the report's query finished successfully, with a result set of ~400 records.
    I never seen this exception before and it seems like it can be caused by a lot of reasons.
    Can someone please advise?
    Thanks

    Issues like this one can be quite hard to nail down. Do make sure that any memory management code has appropriate cleanup calls. It might be something that's become corrupted in the report file, especially if there's no difference between this report and other reports. Has this report been upgraded from a previous version of Crystal Reports? Does it connect to the same database? The same table?
    Try replacing the report file on the failing server with one from a working environment.
    The [Modules |https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip]utility can assist you by taking a snapshot of the DLLs loaded when the report fails. Compare this to a snapshot from the same report in a working environment and see if there are any differences.
    Also, [Procmon |http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx]may help you follow the flow of the application to see if there are any red flags such as a file access issue.
    As a last resort, you could recreate the report template.

  • Error, package does not exist, thrown when calling jsp page

    Hi
    I have downloaded sample jsp pages for interaction with Crystal reports. When I compile these jsp pages in NetBeans 3.6 there are no problems. When I deploy these pages and associated libraries to Tomcat 5, I get the following error when attempting to call the jsp page, but all the jars used in NetBeans are present in the web-inf/lib directory and I have looked in the jars and found classes in the com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer package. I have been unable to find any information after googling and looking at the jakarta bug database. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks Tien-Chih Wang. It worked...well I'm getting a new set of errors, but progress has been made!
    I understand that if placed in the common directory the jar will be available to all webapps but why does it make a difference whether a jar file is placed under the $TOMAT_HOME/common/lib or $TOMAT_HOME/webapps/appname/web-inf/lib directory if I only need to access the jar from one webapp?

  • Dealing with the AggregateException thrown when calling task.Wait().

    I am new to the Task facility and am curious on best practice here. I am dispatching tasks something like:
    Task task = Task.Run(
    () =>
    try
    this.MyMethod(paramA, paramB);
    catch
    taskCancellationTokenSource.Cancel();
    throw;
    finally
    semaphore.Release();
    So if needed, the cancellation token can end things quickly and drop me quicker into the final bit of cleanup:
    foreach (Task task in tasks)
    try
    task.Wait();
    catch (AggregateException e)
    foreach (Exception ie in e.InnerExceptions)
    Logger...
    throw;
    catch (Exception e)
    Logger...
    throw;
    Obviously this brings out only the first nested exception. What is the general way of handling this? How should rethrow in this scenario allowing me to log and track everything that may have occurred?
    Thanks!

    Hi
    Ritmo2k,
    >>Obviously this brings out only the first nested exception. What is the general way of handling this? How should rethrow in this scenario allowing me to log and track everything that may have occurred?
    Per my understanding, you could catch System.Exception and switch on the types
    catch (Exception ex)
    if (ex is Exception || ex is AggregateException)
    Logger...
    return;
    throw;

    1) from EDQ director we have imported the EDQ_CDS,EDQ-REFERENCE DATA & EDQ_HISTORICAl DATA packages sucessfully.
    2) Created dnd.param file in SIebel server SDQCOnnector folder.
    3) Copied the libdnd.so file to siebsrvr lib directory(32 bit)
    3) In dnd.param file we have mentioned the javalib file and instllation directory path(<Siebsrvr roo>/dnd/install)

    Hi Monoj,
    A few questions:
    - What OS is Siebel running on?
    - What version of the Siebel connector are you using?
    - Which libdnd.so file are you using?
    - What's the contents of your dnd.parms file?
    thanks,

  • Bug in Oracle JDBC Driver: NullPointerException when calling clearParameters

    There is a bug in the latest version of the JDBC driver that throws a NPE when calling PreparedStatement.clearParameters(). I don't need a response to this, since I have a workaround (just catching and ignoring the exception), but it should probably be fixed. I speculate that the problem only occurs when you try to call clearParameters() more than once on the same PS, but I haven't confirmed it.
    It is probably an easy fix. Following is the stack trace:

    Take a look at the method that is causing the NullPointerException:
    public void clearItem(int i)
    if (!m_dynamic && m_vector == null && i < m_vector.size())
    m_vector.removeElementAt(i);
    if (m_items != null && i >= m_items.length)
    return;
    m_items[i] = null;
    return;
    A NullPointerException will be thrown whenever clearParameters() is called when no parameters have yet been bound.
    The first IF statement should read:
    if (!m_dynamic && m_vector != null && i < m_vector.size())
    A simple workaround would be to make sure that your parameter list is never empty before calling clearParameters(). Is there a patch for this anywhere?

  • Core Dump when calling DriverManager.getConnection

    I'm very confused and hope someone can help me out with this.
    I'm trying to make a connection to a MS SQL Server 7 and am getting a core dump when getConnection is called. No exception is thrown, just a core dump and locked session. If I run the class from it's main there is absolutly no problem, but when I do a new on the class and call it's member to establish the connection: core dump. The environment is the same in both cases. The calling class did does use a mySql connection, but I tried closing it and setting it to null with the same problem. I'm not sure if the getConnection is stepping on a socket or what it's trying to violate in memory causing the dump. This is running on a SCO Openserver 5.0.5 box (green threads). Why it runs stand-alone and not when called from another class has got me tangled... Thread problem? I've tried several SQL drivers, they all do the same thing.
    Anyway, here's a snippet from the java class:
    try
    {Class.forName(myForName);
    // core dump, next line
    Connection myConn = DriverManager.getConnection(myUrl, myUser, myPass);
    // never get's here
    Statement myStmt = myConn.createStatement();
    catch (Exception e) // modified for this post
    {system.out.println(e.toString());
    Here's the dump printed to the monitor (2>&1)
    SIGSEGV 11* segmentation violation
    si_signo [11]: SIGSEGV 11* segmentation violation
    si_errno [0]: Error 0
    si_code [1]: SEGV_MAPERR [addr: 0x8]

    I have a similar problem with establishing a connection through JNI. Have you resolved your problem?
    Here's mine.
    In java, I have a class that provides an interface to a mysql database. The java programs that call this interface work fine.
    When I try to call the java interface from C++ through JNI, I get the following output -- some debug statements sprinkled through also. I am assuming that the JVM is missing something at runtime that is there in my JRE. The classpaths match , etc. Exception handling in java and in JNI code are not providing any more detail.. Thanks for comments!!
    Created jvm
    Got KBModel and String classes

  • SetQueryTimeout when calling stored procedures

    I cannot seem to get a query to timeout when calling a stored procedure in Oracle 8i. I have set the query timeout to 1 (sec.) and the query takes a few minutes to return. I get no exception and the query returns normally. When I use a prepared statement the query times out as expected and I get an exception. Should this work?

    Hi,
    The issue: I want a timeout on database locks, without doing
    a select for update wait x/ or nowait for every row concerned.
    Once the thread called java.net.SocketInputStream.socketread0() (unfortunatelly
    without a timeout), I currently only see 2 ways to get my thread out of there:
    - The lock is resolved (by the blocking instance) resp. the db server
    - By calling System.exit() (which I do not wish to do)
    So I want the Oracle Driver to call socketRead with a timeout, or if
    i can't do so. I'd like to set the timeout to the Socket myself.
    Or if I can't do so either, I plan to give a new SocketImplFactory
    to my client VM, which will implement a Socket with a fixed timeout
    on reads.
    Hint's (what I found out so far):
    - Calling interrupt on the invoking Thread wan't help
    - Calling statement.setQueryTimeout() wan't help, because the SqlException
    will be thrown at the time the statement leaves the socketRead(), which is
    when to lock is resolved, which is too late
    - The timeout used is defined by the used SocketImpl, which
    is by default the java.net.PlainSocketImpl, which is by default 0, which means
    'wait forever'
    - I did not found a way to set a timeout on the db server side, to resolve
    this problem
    Details:
    I am using Oracles JDBC Thin Driver 9i 9.2.0.3
    So far I did not specify any additional properties to the ConnectionFactory
    than user/pwd

  • NullPointerException thrown when using get method in CMR relationship outsi

    We are using weblogic 9.1 CMP entity beans with BEA's XA oracle driver. We have a bean called User that has a many address beans. When calling the getAddresses method on a UserLocal a NullPointerException gets thrown if the stateless session bean method that is marked as @LocalMethod(transactionAttribute=Constants.TransactionAttribute.SUPPORTS). If we change it to REQUIRED the method returns addresses successfully. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Below is the stack trace.
    My best guess is that an exception is occurring and when weblogic tries to handle the exception EJBRuntimeUtils.throwEJBException encounters the NullPointerException.

    Open an official support case. This has nothing to do with jdbc.

  • Netweaver throwing following exception when calling the ProductionOrder WS

    Hi,
    when calling the ProductionOrder web service I get the following exception from the system:
    nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.ts.exceptions.BaseSystemException: Exception ( SAP J2EE Engine JTA Transaction : [0ffffffaa60fffffffe00103e] ) in rollback.
    The system was migrated from Netweaver CE 7.1 SP4 to SP5 before the error started to occur.
    Any ideas how to fix this? Start/Stopping ME didn't do the trick.
    Kind Regards,
    Christoph Mertins

  • Environment.Exit hangs when called from an application domain exception handler

    I've implemented a handler for exceptions not thrown in the main GUI thread of my C# WinForms application, as follows:
        AppDomain.CurrentDomain.UnhandledException  += OnUnhandledExceptionThrown;
    This handler is called from a background thread. The last statement in this handler is a call to
    Environment.Exit with the application exit code. However, the application hangs in this call. From within Visual Studio, it hangs and I'm unable to break the application; I have to use Task Manager to terminate Visual Studio. Environment.Exit
    works fine when called from the unhandled exception handler for the GUI thread. Is there a better way to terminate the application in the context of an unhandled exception thrown by a background thread?

    Are you just trying to avoid a crash? Environment.Exit can cause deadlocking if exiting in the wrong kind of scenario; if you're just trying to avoid a crash, use
    GetCurrentProcess with
    TerminateProcess to terminate your own process.  It skips the notification phases that Environment.Exit uses which prevents the common deadlock scenarios.

  • Javascript Error when calling EPCM.raiseEvent

    Hi all!
       I'm having a Javascript error when calling EPCM.raiseEvent function. The error is :
       'The object does not accept the method or property'
      Maybe the traslation is not perfect (I'm using spanish for my browser). Here is my call:
       EPCM.raiseEvent('myPar','myEvent','myParam');
      What can be wrong?
      Thanks in advance, and sorry for my terrible english.

    Hi!
       This error is very strange... I accidentally changed the event name at consumer, but not at producer.... and the error didn't appear... Obviuslly it did'nt work, but it's so strange that if the event is not cought, there is no error (but nothing happens)
       I also noticed that doesn't matter which event I raise (I have two of them), the error is thrown at the same line, and they have totally different caller and receiver functions....
    Thanks In advance.

  • Possible thread issues when calling java from C++/Delphi/C#

    Hi,
    We have a java API for one of our applications. This API has wrapper API's in C++, Delphi and C#. There are two main top level classes in te API - Client and Receiver. Both haave a receive() method.
    We used to ship JRE1.3 with the API installation - this was needed to suport the user applications. Recently we haev moved to java 1.4 as the least suported version.
    We have two ways of using the java API in our wrapper API's.
    Method one, we instantiate the client, and call client.receive(). There are no threads etc involved here. This is working fine.
    In the second method, we set a callback on the client, which starts a thread (in C++/Delphi or C#) which calls receiver.receive() and tries to get the message. This is failing.
    It fails at a line which simply says "DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance()".
    This call has already been made when connecting the client and it is successful because we can see the client connected.
    Whether we do client.receive() or receiver.receive() in a thread, the code passes through this line.But is throwing the exception only when we come to it through a thread.
    Any ideas on what I need to watch out for when calling methods on a JVM from a thread in C++/Delphi or C#?
    Thanks
    Hari
    PS: I know we are using some really old versions, but thats needed and out of my control.

    Hi,
    I managed to solve this - finally!
    This is what was the cause in our case - should apply to all situations though.
    We had the Xerces classes packaged in a custom jar file along with other XML stuff we have. And this mega-jar was on the class path.
    We were running everything on Java 1.3 and it worked fine.
    But Java 1.4 wrecked all havoc.
    So here is what I did:
    1. I tried explicitly doing Class.forName() with the name of the Xerces class that was not found. I did this at the same point in the code where the exception was being thrown.
    2. The class was successfully loaded indicating that it was on the class path somewhere.
    3. Java 1.4 made some changes in terms of class loaders - so suspecting that, I tried printing out the System and the Context class loaders at the point where the exception was being thrown - the system class loader was a valid object, but context class loader was null
    4. We have another point in the code base where the exact same lines were used, and these are getting successfully executed even in the multi threaded situation - this is the start up sequence.
    5. I printed the two class loaders at this point - they are both valid objects, no nulls.
    With this, I narrowed down the scope and was convinced that the class loaders are the cause.
    A search on Google and after looking the the source code for Xerces, we realized that the Xerces API uses the Context Class Loader to resolve and load the DocumentFactoryImpl class - this change is from Java 1.4 onwards.
    In our case, the JNI AttachCurrentThread method called from C++/C# and Delphi was attaching the thread to the JVM, but each time the context class loader was null.
    We could not find anything on how we could make the method to put a non null context classloader.
    So, we changed all our JNI interfaces to do the following
    //attach the current thred
    jvm->AttachCurrentThread(...)
    //now get the system class loader and set it as the context class loader on the current thread
    //get things from the Thread class
    jclass thread = get the thread class
    jmethod currentThread = get the static method currentThread()
    jobject thread_object = get the current thread object into this
    jmethod setContextClassLoader = get the setContextClassLoader() method on the thread
    //get the SystemClassLoader
    jclass clsLoader = get the class for ClassLoader
    jmethodid getSysClsLoader = get the method ID for the getSystemClassLoader() method
    jobect sysClsLoader = get the system class loader by calling the above method
    //set the context class loader on the thread by calling set context class loader with the sys class loader as the argumentUnfortunately I don't have the code with me right now,otherwise would have shared the same.

    I can record voice memos fine using the built-in iPhone 4 mic.  And my Bluetooth headset (Jawbone Era) works fine when I leave messages on voice mail systems etc. when calling on the iPhone 4, so it appears my headset mic is fine.  I can also use voice activated dialing, although it fails miserably interpreting numbers.  However, I cannot record voice memos with my Bluetooth mic.   I just get barely audible static.  Any suggestions?   Thanks.

    Hello, did you ever get an answer to your question? I just picked up a Jawbone Era and using on an iPhone 4s running 5.0.1. Seems to work fine on regular calls, but not on the built in Voice memos application. It worked fine on my older Jawbone Icon, but haven't tested on the 4s or iOS 5.
    Thanks!

  • Open front panel of sub vi when called - how?

    Hello,
    I have a VI with several sub VIs.
    I want some of the sub VI front panels to be opened, if they are not yet opened and if they are called but I want them to stay in the background.
    There are two SubVI Node setups: "Open Front Panel when loaded" and "show front panel when called"
    Both are not what I want. If I select "show front panel when called", then the front panels are opened but flickering because they are called often and alternately.

    Yeah, we've heard that one before...
    @smercurio_fc: With your example I can see if a subVI is opened or not, but how can I open the subVI during run time if it is not opened
    Just call the method with it set to "write" (right-click and select "Change to Write"). I don't recall if LV 7.0 has a Front Panelpen method. Check the LabVIEW manual.
