Messages are getting lost during server restart

Hi,
we have a clustered environment.
soa_server1, soa_server2, soa_server3 and osb_server1, osb_server2, osb_server3
Queues are configured on each server.
Overall process flow is (JMS Queue (configrued in soa_server1) --> BPEL --> mediator -->JMS (configrued in osb_server1) --> proxyService --> Target System.
When there is a need to bounce the server (start / stop) ; and to make sure messages are not lost during server bounce.
we are following the below procedure for server start
1) pause soa_server1 queues then bounce soa_server1
2) pause soa_server2 queues then bounce soa_server2
3) pause soa_server3 queues then bounce soa_server3
We are observing there is a message lost after server bounce...
thanks in advance
anvv sharma

Are you using XA connection factory? If no then this may cause message loss. It is also considered a best practice to configure error queue for JMS queues to avoid message loss (as a precautionary measure).
How did you find that messages are getting lost?

  • JMS Messages lost after server restart

    Hi All,
We have an environment where Oracle SOA 11g is configured to use Weblogic JMS (Database persistence). The JDBC stores have been created to hold the persistent JMS messages. However we have observed that after server restart the messages are getting lost from the queue (non consumed messages as well).
Is there any configuration which we are missing?
    Regards
    Subhankar

    Hello Subhankar,
Which Weblogic version are you using? What are the configuration parameters of the JMS queue you defined? During server shutdown/restart, do you see any errors in the server log?
I would suggest you to raise a case with support as it may require an inspection of your environment and settings to find out the root cause.

  • I am unable to see any POP3 or IMAP tab when I set up an account in my iphone 4S. Hence by default all my email accounts become IMAP and the messages are deleted from the server when I delete them from the iphone.

I am unable to see any POP3 or IMAP tab when I set up an account in my iphone 4S. Hence by default all my email accounts become IMAP and the messages are deleted from the server when I delete them from the iphone.

ok sorry everyone but i solved it myself but the solution is so nuts i've posted it here to help others who have the same problem.
to setup a comcast imap account on your iphone:
go to mail, contacts, etc in settings
    under accts, select add account
    select "other"
new screen, choose "add mail account"
now on the new acct screen you must enter your name, email address and password for your GMAIL acct ! (yes i said your gmail acct !, or some other acct with a NON comcast address).
    hit next
    then the acct verifies
when verified a screen will open with all the acct settings for this acct AND @ the top of the screen are the 2 buttons > imap or POP
select imap and THEN CHANGE ALL THE ACCOUNT information to the comcast account !
then hit next and the account will take a couple minutes to verify but it will verify and now you have a comcast imap acct set up on your iphone.  The problem must be that when the iphone sends the initial verify acct info to comcast (if you enter that information first) the comcast server is simply not setup yet to signal the iphone that there is an imap option.

  • How the ASN in or out messages are getting created whenever there is any action performed related to these messages.

    Hi ,
Can any one please let me know with an example like,

How these ASNin or out messages are getting created.

    Hi Keith,
You stated that "I think Geoff's showing remarkable tolerance  by not just deleting the whole thread." Are we in the third world countries that there are no freedom of speech?!!!
    I appreciate your help.
Some of you mentioned that I don't know how to use it.  I have a question for you where did you learn how to use Lightroom?  I learned the same way everyone learns.  Study the subjects by reading books, videos, taking classes and enroll in some kind of training.  I am following all the instructions that I can my hand on.  I wish that instead of accusing me of not knowing have a different view of the issue.  What if there is a bug in the program?  Some of you were and are very successful and that does not mean that the program does not have some issues.  We all use the program differently, and with these differences ways in using it some problems will come out for some and not for others.
I am not promoting one program over the other, and I am not putting Lightroom down.  I am just expressing how I feel.  Put yourself in my shoes and spent just hours creating some renaming templates and suddenly you find out that it is not there anymore and all your efforts are gone with the wind.  I then go and search through the internet to find out what did I do wrong and how to solve it.  I find out that I am not alone, and there others that still waiting for the solution to come.
Let be open and do not hush people, and when you do that it will be the end of any progress or improvement on how everything is.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you.  You are all supportive and very helpful.
Thank you and have a very Happy New Year.

  • Mail 3, smtp, IMAP: sent messages are not saved on server

    Hello,
I had problems using Mail 3 after I upgraded to Leopard, so I used Thunderbird for the time being. With the update 10.5.1 I tried again: most problems solved BUT: sent messages are not saved on the server in mailbox "Sent".
Some background: I deleted the folder "<User>/Library/Mail" and "<User>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist" and configured Mail from scratch.
To be sure: I still have Thunderbird installed, and when I send with Thunderbird: a copy is placed in "Sent".
Another thing I noticed: it takes more than a minute to send from Mail 3 and a few seconds when I send from Thunderbird. I have another Macbook Pro with 10.5.0 installed: same problem with sending.
    Any help is appreciated.
    rene

Well, be stumped I did all that, but to be sure, I did it again:
I have a lot folders with subfolders and they are shown under my account name.
I created a new folder "test" in my IMAP account and designated it to be the new "Sent" folder. It replaces my previous Sent folder in the group Inbox, Drafts, Trash. My previous Sent folder now appears under my account name as a "normal" folder.
I send a message and the Activity monitor says: +"Delivering message: copying message"+. After a minute Mail is done. I check my (new) "Sent" folder and it's empty. I double check in webmail: it's empty.
So I go to the Finder and look in my IMAP folder: <user>/Library/Mail/<IMAP-account>/test.imapmbox and there is no folder "Messages", only Info.plist.
Then I try to move a message to the "Sent' folder: for a minute the Activity moinor says: Copying messages: copying message" and then Mail prompts: +"The message "testing" could not be+
+The connection to the server mail.hicetnunc.nl on port 143 timed out"+.
So it looks like Mail has a problem with the default "Sent" folder: it cannot copy messages to that folder at all! Aha!
But then I try to move a message to a "normal" IMAP folder: same thing! Mail cannot copy to any folder!
In both instances Mail says: +"The message "..." could not be be moved to the mailbox "..."+
+The connection to the server mail.hicetnunc.nl on port 143 timed out"+
Last thing: I try to move a message to a folder in the same account again. But in the process I quit Mail. I open Mail again and Mail is performing pending operations: copying message. After a while Mail prompts: +"Operation could not be completed. (MFMessageErrorDomain error 1028.)"+ and crashes... I open Mail again and it tries to peform pending operations. Again: an error message and Mail crashes. This keeps going on so I delete the whole account and set it up again. Nothing's changed...
I can receive and send, but sent messages are not copied to the "Sent" folder and I cannot move messages around within a IMAP account. But TADA!!!: I can move messages from account to account.

  • Error messages are getting swapped in b/n Idocs

    Hi everybody,
    I am using SAP R/3 6.20.
I have scheudled a background periodic batch job which automatically reprocesses the error IDocs of the same message type (say M1). It runs every 5 minutes and reprocesses all M1 IDocs in error created on the day the job runs.
The problem now is, I have noticed that the error messages of these IDocs are getting swapped in between.
    eg:
The IDoc 1122123 has an error message 'Batch B1 for material M1 does nto exist for Plant P1.'
The IDoc 1122124 also has this error message, but it is not relevant to this IDoc.
The Inbound function module (say I-FM1) being used for this is adapted from the standard SAP function module
    IDOC_INPUT_DELVRY.
The background batch job executes a variant of standard SAP program RBDMANI2. The parallel processing of the IDocs in the RBDMANI2 variant has been set to YES and the Packet size is set to 5.
I have observed one more thing. The original FM has implemented the SAP Note 817223, which the inbound function module I-FM1 of message type M1 hasn't. Does this impact? I will also addd that all the internal tables are refreshed properly before the start of the function module I-FM1.
Kindly let me know your views.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi surya,
You are saying 1122124 is IDOC numner & its not relevant to this idoc.
What it means, can u explain??? Actually there will be a chance an IDOC can mapped to N no of documents. This mapping will done through a BADI internally.

  • Ink annotations get lost during word 2007 - pdf conversion

    Hi,
I am trying to convert a word 2007 document into a .pdf using Acrobat Professional 9. The problem is, the ink annotations get lost in the process. A colleague does not have the same problem. I an very sure that I have never changed any preferences.
    Thanks for your help, Bruce

You did not give all of the information. The current version of AA9 is 9.4.7. If you have 9.0, you should do the updates until you get to 9.4.7. Also, I assume you are not using a 64-bit machine, an appropriate comment at this time.
That being said, I did run your DOCX file in WORD 2007 and AA 9.4.7 on a 32-bit Win7 system. With PDF Maker, I got the same result as you. With a print to the Adobe PDF printer, I did get the markup that you wanted. If bookmarks and tags are not of concern to you, then using the printer might be the best route for now. There appears to be a bug in PDF Maker that has not been noted before and you have brought to the front. I am not sure how the annotations are done, but apparently PDF Maker did not catch them.

    [INFO] Jetty server exiting.Thanks,

This has been fixed in the RI head. Hopefully we'll be able to get a 1.2_04 out shortly.
Please download a nightly from the RI project site and give that a shot.

  • Stubs are getting deleted when we restart the weblogic server

    Hi All,
We have a EJB jar file Before deploying changed EJB jar, we delete the existing jar from server and consol when we upload the jar using the upload option from admin console of weblogic 8.1 server, then EJBs deploys properly and works fine.
    When we print the remote object class name will get System.out.println("Object "+obj.getClass().getName());
    output -> CnClaimsFacade_wayy6d_HomeImpl_814_WLStub
However, if i stop the server and start again, the EJB stubs are not created this time and the application does not work.
    When we print the remote object class name will get System.out.println("Object "+obj.getClass().getName());
the object class name prints as output -> "CnClaimsFacade_wayy6d_HomeImpl"
Has anyone faced this before?? Pls let me know the reason...
    Thanks in Advance!
    Chandra

I guess the right place would to be consult Weblogic docs/forums:

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 server working for several months now messages are getting stuck in drafts folder

This a small, simple environment. There is a MS Server 2012 R2 server hypervisor with a MS Server 2012 R2 VM running Exchange 2013 patched to SP1.  This server has been deployed into production and passing mail without issues for several months.
Upon initial deployment, we experienced the issue that many have reported and that has been widely documented where Mail Flow works fine inbound, but outbound will stick in the drafts folder. We resolved the issue by manually configuring the IP Address of
our internal DNS server (which is an installed role on our hypervisior / base layer server).  The issue was immediately resolved and mail was flowing in both directions without issue.  We later installed SP1 and there was no issue.  Mail has
been flowing normally all the while.
Now fast-forward through several weeks of reliable mail delivery... We experienced a power loss and a system shutdown and upon reboot, inbound is working and outbound goes to drafts.  I've confirmed DNS Lookup settings in ECP still points to our internal
server as previously configured.  Both servers have internet access, NSLOOKUP returns expected values, and DNS appears to be working normally.
I'm not sure if we had an MS Update that installed with the reboot that caused the breakage, if there was a lingering settings change that took effect on reboot, or what is causing the interruption.  I'm looking for some fresh ideas on where to look
for answers, and all the information available on the drafts folder issue points to DNS settings that have already been put in place.
Any constructive ideas are welcome!   Thanks in advance.
    David

    Amit,
Long story short, I'm not sure how or why, but there were a few automatic services that were not starting "automatically."  I'm used to seeing some services that are triggered by the application to start and stop on their own, so I didn't necessarily
panic when there were a few automatic services that were stopped..
However, The MS Exchange Health Manager, and the Mailbox Submission services weren't running.  After manually starting the services my drafts folder emptied and we are back in business.. Maybe not "innovative" as you said, but it certainly put us on
the right track.  We were looking so hard at DNS because of all the reported cases of "stuck in drafts" being related to DNS, we totally overlooked the obvious, so THANKS!
Now the only question is, what stopped the services and why did they not restart automatically??

  • Instances In recovery are getting recovered only after restart of server.

    Hi All,
The issue I face is :There is a BPEL Process with a DB adapter which has to poll on a database.
Now my DB adapter polls, but the instance in EM remains in Recovery State.
From BPEL Service Engine even if I recover, they dont get recovered.
But,If I restart the server(SOA) and and From BPEL Service Engine if I recover, they get recovered.
SO,every Time I hav to restart the server.:-( :-(
    Kindly ,suggest the solution.

The solution is either change the order of deployment or copy the FileAdapter.rar file in $ORACLE_HOME/lib location and restart the server as mentioned here.
