LogOnException with mixed runtimes.

I have a complex application with multiple reports running in the one address space, loaded dynamically.   The issue I am having is that reports developed on the new version of crystal reports are failing.  When I assign the data table to the report it crashes with:
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.LogOnException: Log on failed. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80000000): No error. at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.ReportClientDocumentClass.VerifyDatabase() at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportClientDocumentWrapper.VerifyDatabase() at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.VerifyDatabase
If I run the report using the newer version first it runs correctly.  If I run the older version crystal reports,  then run the newer version of the report it fails with the above.    I am absolutely certain it is run time versions being loaded.   I have also found out the reverse is true,  load VS2010 versions then running VS2008 versions the VS2008 versions fail.
My first question,   can all back level reports run on the newer versions of the runtime?
Second question,  is there a way I can force the newer version of the run time to be the only one loaded?
The new reports are written with VS 2010 and the older reports are VS 2008.   I don't want to recompile the whole thing because I don't trust the source control as much as I should. I would rather do that one by one with controlled testing.
I have also found a comment about .Net 4 and a legacy switch,  I am using .Net 3.5 for compatibility with existing code.

Hello,
Installing CR2008 and CR4VS2010 on a single machine is not recommended, some issues are encountered by side by side installation.
I will suggest you to upgrade all your reports to the newer version.
Thanks,
Bhushan.

  • LabView TestStand interoperability with LabView runtime adapter

I would like to get some background information on how the interoperability of LabView and TestStand works.
We are using LabView steps mainly for some minor tasks in TestStand projects.
We do not use the regular deployment way as proposed by NI, but simply use one or more VI folders from which we reference LabView steps.
Deployment is done by copying the whole TestStand/LabView folder structure to the target machine.
We use the LabView runtime adapter within on our deployed systems.
We never mix LabView versions within one project.
Now, we frequently face the situation that the exact same project structure on two different machines has problems with the LabView steps.
So one changed VI runs on one target machine while the other after copy deployment is broken. Due to the same project structure and the virtual drives the paths must be the same.
A mass compile usually solves the situation.
So this is mystery number 1.
Today, I had the same problem, however I did not mass compile the full VI folder but simply some folders which I assumed had changed.
One VI which was referenced by TestStand was not mass compiled and was declared as broken by TestStand.
All I did was opening the broken VI in LabView Development System and nothing was obviously changed by LabView.
I closed the VI  and pressed the Reload VI button on the TestStand step and the VI was working again, however the sequence file now had changed somehow (* at file name).
    Another phenomenon:
An existing project on a machine was running with a certain user.
After switching the user, the VI steps of the project were suddenly broken.
    My questions?
    1) Why do VIs which run in the development system flawlessly  become broken in the runtime?
    2) Does the runtime use different search paths than the development system?
    3) What kind of information does the mass compilation produce and where is it stored.
    4) What kind of information does TestStand store along with the VI?
    5) Is there a way to diagnose the problem with the runtime adapter ? With the runtime adapter I cannot open the VI to see what is the problem and in the developer mode it works.

First, to clarify a few points:
    1) It is not necessary to use a workspace for TestStand deployments. You can specify a directory of source files for a TestStand deployment.
    2) TestStand licensing should not be affecting this issue in any way. TestStand licenses do not have any impact on LabVIEW VI execution in TestStand.
    Thorsten,
The issues you are describing are likely being caused by the LabVIEW VIs needing to be recompiled. The runtime engine is not able to recompile VIs, but the LabVIEW Dev System can, so this explains why you are able to execute again after opening the VIs in LabVIEW Dev. it also explains why a mass compile fixes the issue.
There are a variety of reasons why this could be happening. One scenario that could cause this to happen is that you make a change in one VI, but the change causes a second VI to need to be recompiled. This could cause a problem if you redeploy only the VI that you changed, because it will not be able to work properly unless the second VI is recompiled, which cannot be done by the LabVIEW RTE alone. This can happen because the LabVIEW compiler will optimize certain operations in the compiled code depending on where data is used--for example, the compiler will try to avoid allocating a copy of an array if it does not need to be accessed by multiple pieces of code at the same time. As you can imagine, this type of optimization might be appropriate for one version of your code, but might not be appropriate if a subVI changes such that it needs access to the array in parallel with the rest of the code.
The specific example I mentioned is called the Inplaceness Algorithm, and is described along with much more information about the LabVIEW compiler in this whitepaper. This might help explain the reasons a LabVIEW VI would need to be recompiled.
One potential solution to your problem that would allow you to keep your current deployment method would be to use packed project libraries (PPLs). You could have multiple PPLs for different parts of your code that you want to be able to update individually, which would allow you to make small changes to your codebase without having to deploy the entire set of code at once. A PPL is a self-contained set of compiled code that does not change, which should avoid the recompile issue from occurring.

  • FI postings with mixed debit/creidt amounts

    Hi Friends,
We have a custom build program to extract data and post FI document.
In some cases after extraction we have a data with mixed DC/LC and LC2 amounts in different signs thats is debit/debit/credit amounts. Example ( Document currency as +100$, local currency as +100$ and group currency as -10$)
Any idea how we control in our custom program to split this into posting key specific fi lines? Is there any standard function modules or procedure to follow?
Let me know if you need more details?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Manohar

    Any suggestions please...
I can think of splitting lines into two with 40/50 posting keys in case of this scneario's. Does it have any implecations?

  • How do I deal with a Runtime Error on Adobe Acrobat 9.5?

How do I deal with a Runtime Error on Adobe Acrobat 9.5? The instructions say to contact the support team but I have to pay in order to do so.

What operating system and what is the statement of the error. Typically you would first run a repair on Acrobat from the help menu (or in Windows you can do that from the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs).

  • Problem signing code for application with embedded runtime

    Hi,
I have an Adobe Air application which I am publishing with the runtime embedded.  There are lots of reasons for publishing this way.
I have already seen an unknown publisher message after signing on Windows 8 and a tester reported the same thing on Windows 7.  According to the cert issuer (DigiCert) I need to have an Extended Validation (EV) certificate to get by the Windows 8 issue, but there was no explanation on the Windows 7 issue.
As the windows file is essentially a folder wiith ".app" appended to it's name, I'm not sure how signing (which I am doing with the Signature tab on the Flash GUI) ensures that the executable contained in that file is signed.
Can anyone tell me anything about code signing when publishing an AIR application with embedded runtime?
    Best,
    Chris McLaughlin

Not that I can think of.  What OS are they running?  Do they have the shared runtime also installed?

  • Word 2007 mail merge : problem with mixed portrait and landscape orientations

    Hi there,
    I have a 3 pages document Word 2007 file
This is a mail merge I want to export in PDF using Adobe Acrobat Printer,
then send "big" PDF to printing.
    page 1 is PORTRAIT
    page 2 is PORTRAIT
    page 3 is LANDSCAPE
In PDF pages 1 and 2 are perfectly fine, inside an A4 format (width=210 height=297mm or something)
but for page 3, system changed to a "double" sized page (A3 width=297 height=420) and printed my stuff at the 1st top middle of big page.
So I have a big "double" sheet, oriented PORTRAIT, with my stuff in 1st half, and a blank in 2nd half.
It seems that system did not rotate the page... and just put the stuff into a bigger sheet to "solve" at best.
I would like the same size of paper (A4) but in landscape : width=297 height=210
I have already seen many PDF with mixed portrait and landscape orientations, so what's the thing ?
    With my advanced thanks,
And greetings from Paris, France !
    Vince

    Some questions:
Which version of office were you using before? 2003?
Are the data files on a network, or on your local machine? If they are on a network, can you make a copy of one of them on your local machine and try again?
Can you open the files directly in Excel? What extension do they have (.xls, or something else?) I am wondering whether access to other file types has been left blocked on your machine but is allowed on your colleague's machine.
Are you just opening the mail merge main document and seeing this message? If so, do you see the same thing if you start with a new document and try to connect to one of these data sources?
Can you confirm that the message is about Access even though you are trying to connect to an Excel file?
(Also, office 2007 has some new stuff - that let's you specify that certain folders are "trusted" . I don't think that ever affected MailMerge but it may be as well to make sure that your documents and data sources are in trusted locations).
Also worth trying to start Word in "Safe mode" - see, e.g. http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/word-help/work-with-office-safe-modes-HP010140792.aspx

I have coverage with mixed formats -  some with PAL ( we think 4:3 ratio) and some HD. When I chose our sequence settings to begin with, is there a way of preventing some shots with bars either at left and right or top and bottom?

Choose PAL 4x3 and scale down the rest.

  • How to play a cue point with mixer

I know how to play a cue point of sound with the method:

How can I transfer the method of cue point using  the mixer?
I need to have any hint about this because I must use both cue

    1) I can't use "playrate" with  "sound(1).play()" method.
    With this method I can use cue point;
    2) I'm trying to know If I can use cue point with   mixer method.
With this method I can use "playrate" .
It is also for me important to know if it is possible or

    iPhone 3gs, 4 or 4s?
With the former two, just drag the videos to the desktop iTunes and sycnhronize to your iPad. They will be synched to the stock Videos.
With the latter, you can either resize the video to 720p (or less) OR use a third-party app (It's Playing, AVPlayerHD, GoodPlayer being the best choices) to play it back. I'd go with the latter to avoid quality degradation and long-lasting reencodings.

  • Exporting a "piece" with mixed channels

    Hi everybody,
I'm relatively new to FCPX (not to the NLE) and I'm presently using it to close short "pieces" (new bulletin's tv reports) about 90/120 sec long.
I love the clip base approach but in this case, it is driving me lost.
I have to deliver this piece with mixed channels...recording we use channel 1 for natural/effects - channel 2 for voice over, they have to end up in a single channel in the finishing process of delivering the piece. This is the request from broadcasting corp we are working for....In Avid or Edius was very easy...
    How can I do?
    Thank you
    Nico

You can do this when you export. In the settings dialog for master file choose Roles as Multitrack QuickTime Movie, Then choose Mono for your audio roles.

  • CK727 -Lot size cannot be passed on in combination with mixed costing

    I get below error.
We have KMAT materials and scenario  is Non Valuated Sales Order Stock.
in our PPC4 - we have below settings. (Both are SAP recommended)
Qty Structure tab we have Pass on Lot size "1" with individual requirements (must of Non Valuated Sales) and
Transfer Control "PC03" has "Current Std Cost" with "Transfer only with Collective requirements"
I just created a mixed cost qty structure. In it I even added Costing type "01". Sales order costing type is "18".
Mixed costing works as expected. However we are unable to create any Sales Orders.
Lot size cannot be passed on in combination with mixed costing
    Message no. CK727
    Diagnosis
For costing variant PPC4 and costing version 01, it was defined in Customizing that a mixed cost estimate should be created for quantity structure category M0001. At the same time, it was defined in the costing variant that the Pass_on_lot_size function should be active.
    System Response
Mixed costing cannot be carried out simultaneously with Pass on lot size . Costing cannot be proceeded with.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Kala,
    system's response is correct
In the standard program the combination of mixed costing and
simultaneously pass on lot size is not possible.
    Please review SAP Notes 402440, 584420 and 749128 .
In particular the SAP Note 402440 describes the determination of the
costing lot size at a mixed costing in detail.

  • Is it possible to share assets between a windows and a mac AIR app build with captive runtime on one dvd-rom?

    Hi there,
I have a question about burning two builds of an AIR desktop app with captive runtime, one for Windows and one for Mac, on a single hybrid DVD-rom that can be played on both Windows computers and Macs.
I've tried sharing the assets (video's and pdf's mostly) between the two builds, but I can't seem to get it to work. The only way I have been able to work around this, is to have the assets in both builds, which results in the double the amount of space on the DVD-Rom.
Is there a way to have the two builds use a single location to find the files? Or do I need to have two builds that both contain all the assets?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kinds regards,
    Maarten

    Gotcha!!
I am done with mounting a secondary HDD (thanks to ifixit) and installing Windows 8 Pro 64 bit on it without a worry. Charm, charm!!
Boot Camp 5 guide prescribes all needed steps and when read and used correctly, installation must be an easy task. And all the existing apple hardwares work so good in the Windows environment too.
I am going to help out a friend of mine in doing a similar thing on his mac too. If you got specific questions, please do shoot up here and i should be able to get a reply to it (if at all).
    Thanks everyone.
