"Look Up" Question

I need help on how to look up a multi column MULTI ROW table given two variables which exist row one and column one cells.
Something like ....
Lookup Column One to find X then lookup Row One to find Y then pull the content of cell XY and insert ...
Just not sure what formula I need to do this.

Here's a small example (two, actually) that shold fit your question:
In the first example, the two lookup values are in cells B2 and B3 of Main1. The corresponding set of values in in Data 1. This example works only with numerical values in B2 and B3 of Main 1, and ignores the values in the header row and header column of Data1, using only the position of the desired data's cell wrt call A1.
The formula to retrieve the value specified is in B5:   =OFFSET(Data1 :: $A$1,B3-3,B2,,)
In the second example, the two lookup values are in cells B2 and B3 of Main2. The corresponding set of values in in Data 2. This version is more general in scope, as it matches the search values in B2 and B3 to the value set in Row 1 and Column A.
The formula to retrieve the value specified is in B5:   =OFFSET(Data2 :: $A$1,MATCH(B3,Data2 :: $A,0)-1,MATCH(B2,Data2 :: $1:$1,0)-1,,)

  • Blog page look/feel questions

    We have our site up and running in BC, and we have a functional blog page—and I say that loosely.  We do not have much code experience (correction:VERY little, if any), and have tried to mess with some code, but it just is a mess when we do.  Are there folks who can help us with the following:
    (1) Each time we add a new post to the blog the formatting is a nightmare.  We edit, change fonts, spacing, carefully bold what we want—update it, then the post looks nothing like we intended.  We have to go into the html side and search for the "styles" and try to individually change them?  It's a nightmare and so unbelievably tedious.  We're comfortable with designing and writing the posts.  Our discomfort comes when AFTER we've written and carefully edited it---it looks nothing like the post we wanted.
    (2) The archive list does not appear on our blog page at all.  It appears when someone chooses to open comments.  And then the formatting for the comments page is horrid.  We have no idea how to change the look of that.
    (3) Are there folks who can help us with this particular issue we're having that is all blog related?  We would be thrilled to speak with someone.  Thanks.

    I am very new to posting, but I thought I might be able to point you in a direction (hopefully the right one). 
    1) It seems like you are trying to do the formatting from the blog post window.  It is much easier to do the formatting on the templates so that they apply to all of the posts, if they have similar formatting.  I am not sure if you know where to edit them, so here you go.  Dashboard --> Site Manager --> Module Templates and choose Blog Layout.   (I think this link goes there www.[yourdomain].com/AdminConsole/#!/Customize/BlogTemplates.aspx)  If I understand correctly, you want to edit the Blog Post Detail Layout.  This layout formats how the blog post looks when you click on a single post.  There are system {tag_...} that you can insert and move around to display the system field information.  I recommend editing in the html because the generated code is very garbled and unintelligible.
    FYI - The "styles" that you look for and change are inline css styles (3 types of css - external, internal and inline).  The styles can be edited in bulk and for the entire site on the external stylesheet.  It is the .css file in the file manager.  I would create my own and not mess with the modulestylesheets.css that BC creates. Create a new css file and add it the page template (I can explain this more, but it does not apply to this question.)
    2) The archive {tag_blogpostarchive} is likely not on the Overall Blog Layout or the Blog Post List Layout.  Go back to the blog templates and add the {tag_blogpostarchive} where you would like it to be.  It seems that the archive only shows for the past 12 months, but Sidney Mitchell (He knows his "stuff"; I just used his idea) has a great way to show more: see http://forums.adobe.com/message/4602294#4602294. As for the comments page, there is the Blog Comment List Layout or the layout in the system pages that can be edited.
    I hope I have pointed you in the correct direction.  Let me know if anything was confusing or above your coding level.  I will do what I can to help or refer you to resources that can.
    Oh, it is typically most useful to include a page url for others to look at.

    In rsa1 of BW goto the source systems. Right click on your source system and select Transfer Global Settings. This will do your job. You need not to LOAD any data from Source system.

  • Blue question marks for slide shows buttons.

    Good day iWeb list,
    All of a sudden the Play/Pause, Back and Forward buttons for my slide shows have turned into a generic looking blue question marks.
    I noticed one other user having a similar issue a while back, and I believe the remedy was to re-publish the entire site. I've tried that to no avail. Resetting cache has not affect as well.
    Any thoughts?

    I've noticed that safari 4 sometimes does the ? thing with images... almost like it doesn't finish loading sometimes. Not sure if it's provider traffic or safari related but it can be annoying.

    A bit more info. I created a new local trading partner and whe I try to add a new certificate for test use only I get the following message:
    "Error while importing certificate new_test due to ASN.1: Lengths longer than 32 bits are not supported"
    What would cause that? Is it a keystore configuration issue? A search on google and the weblogic console has found nothing.

  • Thunderbolt Question

    Hi,
    I know thunderbolt is a fairly new technology so nothing is ever certain, but I have a future looking hypothetical question. I'm shopping for a Macbook Pro at the moment and the new thunderbolt port is a large selling point for me because of the thought of external PCIe video cards becoming a possibility.
    I know the current speed is 10Gbit/s which might still be too slow for a high end dedicated GPU, but I've been reading that the speed could be scaled to 100Gbit/s in the future. If the speed were increased in a year from now, would these current ports be able to handle the increased speed or would more than new cables be needed? I know the cables will move from copper to optical, so would simply replacing the cable be all that's needed for increased speeds in the future?

    This was dated on 1/2/13. Interesting that optical was part of specs from the beginning.

  • Turkish Character and Check Box "?" Problem in XML Publisher

    In aplication and XML Publisher I must use Turkish Characters e.g. 'ş','ı','ğ','ç','ö' and check boxes. In html preview there is no problem, I can see all of them correctly. Hovewer in PDF preview in XML Publisher and also PDF output in Oracle Application all these Turkish Characters and Check Boxes looks like question mark (?). How can I solve this problem ?

    Related to Special Italian characters, when I try with "Courier New" font with static data,the XML Preview display those characters.But when those chars come from XML source file,they get vanished.I tried two cases:
    Case1 ) IN EBS,I have attached courbi.ttf(font file) to the template manager(followed as per instructions in Font mapping section in User Guide).
    When I try running the report ,its getting completed with Warning.
    Case 2) I have also modified xdo.cfg ( as per Doc ID:400755.1 www.metalink.oracle.com)-
    In both cases ,I am not acheving the desired results.
    Please let me know where I am going wrong.

  • How the iTunes Subscription (Viewer Builder 1.5.1 with Professional Edition account) works?

    We're looking for some information appropriate for our purpose, about iTunes subscription on DPS viewer.
    Please look at questions below.
    Q1. What does the "subscribe" button mean at the library screen? If we set a subscription product with one month duration and then our customers purchase for this, can they download all the folios at the library for one month?
    Q2. Why an addiotional "subscribe" button appears on below of the latest folio's "purchase/download" button? Is there any specific reason?
    Q3. We set everything for an iTunes Subscription viewer with 1 month subscription product both on the Viewer Builder 1.5.1 & iTunes connect in-app purchase manager. And we're now testing the developer version's functionality with an iTunes connect test user account. But when we click on the "subscribe" button and follow all the process, the result is nothing different that each folio, independently set as in-app product, is still showing "purchase" button, not "download". Do we misunderstand the function of iTunes Subscription on DPS viewer?

    Did you try if it actually charges you again ? Maybe it's the same problem like the one users have with already purchased songs, apps, folio's, etc. Upon buying it once again (after removal from the device), the store prompts something like "You've already bought it" ("Yeah I know, me stupid", I always hear my inner voice say) "Would you like to download it again?" ("Of course, why else should I bother, you stupid?") So maybe it's just the wording that might throw you off. Just like I don't like the "Achive" button next to folio's, that actually means (and should say) "Remove" ("Remove from this device, but retain your license"), just like the red-dotted x does with apps. Hey, why not show a red-dotted x ?
