Looking for a JCalendar Class or bean

I need to find a Calender class or bean that gives you a visual date selector, ie you can click through the months and select the day from a kind of date matrix, is there such a class out there freely available?
I was hoping IBM may have such a class, if so does anyone know how i can get it?
thanx

  • Looking for How-to self-populating bean

    Can someone give me a web address or something? I am trying to create a javabean to hold a list of agency names and ids from an Oracle table. I then want to use the bean to fill a select on a web page.
    How do I create a "bunch" of beans to represent all the table records?
    I want to replace the following with a reference to javabean that contains all the database records for a listing of state agencies.
    EnterInfo.jsp
    <code>
    <b>Department or Agency:</b>
    <br>
    <select size="4" multiple="false" name="depName">
    <%
    ResultSet rsetAgen = connection.executeQuery("SELECT AGENCY_NUMID,AGENCY_NAME FROM state_agencies ORDER BY agency_name");
    while(rsetAgen.next())
    String ag_num = rsetAgen.getString("AGENCY_NUMID");
    String ag_name = rsetAgen.getString("agency_name");
    %>
    <option <%= fltReqInfo.getDepName().equals(ag_num) ? "selected":"" %> value="<%= ag_num%>"><%= ag_name%></option>
    <%
    } //end of while loop
    rsetAgen.close();
    %>
    </select>
    </code>
    AgencyInfo.java
    <code>
    package us.wy.state.dot.aero.beans;
    public class AgencyInfo
    // Properties
    private int agency_numid;
    private String agency_charid;
    private String agency_name;
    public AgencyInfo()
    this.agency_numid = 0;
    this.agency_charid = "";
    this.agency_name = "";
    public int getAgency_numid()
    return this.agency_numid;
    public void setAgency_numid(int newAgency_numid)
    this.agency_numid = newAgency_numid;
    public String getAgency_charid()
    return this.agency_charid;
    public void setAgency_charid(String newAgency_charid)
    this.agency_charid = newAgency_charid;
    public String getAgency_name()
    return this.agency_name;
    public void setAgency_name(String newAgency_name)
    this.agency_name = newAgency_name;
    </code>

    You've already done most, if not all of the work.
    Compile AgencyInfo.java into a class file and then you can use it as a bean, as in...
    <jsp:useBean name="AgencyList" class="us.wyo.state.dot.aero.beans.AgencyInfo" />Then in that AgencyInfo.java file, create an "initialize" method and move your SQL stuff into it. Back in your JSP file, you'll have something like...
    <select name="desiredAgency" >
    <option><%= AgencyList.getAgencyName( 15 ) %></option>
    </select>...the getAgencyName method first checks to see if a resultSet exists. If so, it simply returns the name for agency 15. If the resultSet doesn't exist, then go ahead and call initialize( ) which will execute the SQL squery and get all of the agency names and values.
    There are ways to make your code more efficient, but at this point, I'm emphasizing that you probably already know how to implement something like this - you just need to move some of your code around.

  • I'm compiling with 1.5 but java is looking for 1.4 classes,why?

    Hello all,
    I need to compile my project with 1.5 and I have set everything correctly in my ant build script(I think) but I am getting the famous error:
    [javac] class file has wrong version 49.0, should be 48.0
    [javac] Please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectory of the classpath.
    I have been searching on Google for a couple of hours and read the whole thread on this that was locked. Most people with this error seem to want to compile with 1.4 but I'm compiling with 1.5 and for some reason it things I'm doing it with 1.4.
    If I do java -version i see 1.5, If I put -verbose when calling my build script I see 1.5 as the java version.
    I have tried with:
    jrockit_150_12
    jdk150_12

    Easiest explanation would be because you are.
    Actually that is the only explanation.
    If I do java -version i see 1.5, If I put -verbose when calling my build script I see 1.5 as the java version. You can find the 1.4 version and remove it or change the directory.
    One cause of this can because ant runs with a version but there are ways to make it use another one.
    And normally you don't run ant with java but rather via a script file and that specifies the java (for ant.)

  • WebLogic looking for class file using the wrong case

    During my ant build, I precompile my JSPs using weblogic.jspc. All of the jars and wars are packaged into an ear and deployed to WebLogic 8.1 on Linux. When I access one of our normal screens, everything is good. Things go wrong when I try to access one of our help screens. We have a base help file that includes another file based on the screen code passed to it. The screen code is used in combination with a HashMap to look up the correct JSP to include. This part goes fine. But when the JSP is included, I get the following error. The best I can figure is that the class file is in mixed case (i.e., SampleHelp00.jsp and SampleHelp00.class), but Weblogic is looking for samplehelp00.class.
    I'm not even where I should begin looking to solve this. Anyone have any ideas?

    Ignore the part about precompiled JSPs being ignored on my development server. Turns out I had a stale cache. I cleared that out and now it recognizes the files.
    The problem with that, is now I'm getting an Error 500 when I try to access the page.

    I passed the -keepGenerated flag to the precompile task in my Ant build so I could look at the line it's choking on, but it's not very helpful. I'm stuck. I can set up the build so it doesn't precompile the JSPs, but then the QA team wouldn't like me very much.

  • Teacher looking for solution to generating a document linked to class roster.

    I'm looking for an electronic version of the label.
    I want to create a document (like a worksheet) that has fields for Name, Hour, Date at the top.  Then, I'd like the PDF to generate a worksheet per student on my roster, automatically filling in the fields with their roster info.
    When printed, every student would get a worksheet with their own name on it.
    Any thoughts?

    I think what you'ra after is an even handler like this:
    interface ReceiveEventHandler
    void receive(byte[] data);
    public class Wrapper
    private ReceiveEventHandler m_receiveEventHandler;
    /** constructor */
    public Wrapper(String dllName)
    initialise();
    void setReceiveEventHandler(ReceiveEventHandler receiveEventHandler)
    m_receiveEventHandler=receiveEventHandler;
    public void transmit(byte[] data)
    send(data);
    public void receive(byte[] data)
    if(m_receiveEventHandler!=null)
    m_receiveEventHandler.receive(data);
    else
    System.out.println("NO HANDLER");
    where receive is called on a background thread:
    use it like this:
    Wrapper.setReceiveEventHandler(new ReceiveEventHandler()
    public void receive(byte[] data)
    System.out.println("Event handler called "+new String(data));

  • I am a fitness director and looking for an app that will allow me to sale and track group fitness classes. What app do you think would be best for this?

    I want to sale classes individually and in packages. I'll need to track when purchases are made and then when credits have been redeemed (if they purchased a package of classes). I suspect I'd need an app in the bussiness category, but there are so many and some with a few qualities I'm looking for, but missing a key component. I can't be the only one looking for a solution like this. Right?!

    Your posting this in the spreadsheet forum for Apples iWork program called "Numbers" on mobile devices (iOS).
    Please let us know if you are attempting to make a spreadsheet to track this (This forum)

    If the first choice, please give us more information on what aspect of the spreadsheet is giving you an issue and we can attempt to help out some.

  • Looking for best practice on application scope beans

    Hey – a portal newbie here. I’ve got some application scope beans that need to be initialized on startup. First thought was to create a servlet that would set the bean. Then I saw the GlobalApp setting, but I think that looks like it is more session scope than application… Looking to be corrected here if I am wrong.
    Is there a place where these type of things traditionally happen? Read only, so no cluster worries (I think) Using WLP 8.1 SP4 and looking for best practices. Thanks for the help!

    To support "code sharing" you need an integrated source code control system. Several options are out there but CVS (https://www.cvshome.org/) is a nice choice, and it's completely free and it runs on Windows, Linux, and most UNIX variants.
    Your next decision is on IDE and application server. These are usually from a single "source". For instance, you can choose Oracle's JDeveloper and Deploy to Oracle Application Server; or go with free NetBeans IDE and Jakarta Tomcat; or IBM's WebSphere and their application server. Selection of IDE and AppServer will likely result in heated debates.

  • (Help) system classpath  -Vs-  the place where weblogic looks for classes

    The following is my app's hierarchy.
    myapp
    |
    |__myjsp.jsp
    |
    |__WEB-INF
    |
    |__classes
    |_ MyClass.class
    I am not able to use MyClass within myjsp.jsp
    i.e. a scriplet like that shown below gives an error stating that MyClass isnt found
    <% MyClass obj; %>
    I've tried setting the system classpath, but to no avail.
    Is there a difference between the system classpath and the place where weblogic looks for classes?
    (I am running my app by creating a myapp.war file and placing it in autodeploy folder)

    Try moving your class to a named package and use the appropriate import statement in your JSP. Loading it from WEB-INF/classes/packagename should be fine so you might want to remove the other classpath mods you made to eliminate that uncertainty.
    Here's a snippet from http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dmndhelp/v6rxmx/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.websphere.nd.doc/info/ae/ae/rweb_jsp_migration.html:
    "As of JSP 2.0, referring to any classes from the unnamed or default package is not allowed. This can result in a translation error on some containers, specifically those that run in a JDK 1.4 or greater environment which will also break compatibility with some older JSP applications. However, as of JDK 1.4, importing classes from the unnamed package is not valid. See Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition Version 1.4.2 Compatibility with Previous Releases for details. Therefore, for forwards compatibility, applications must not rely on the unnamed package. This restriction also applies for all other cases where classes are referenced, such as when specifying the class name for a tag in a Tag Library Descriptor (TLD) file."

    Be sure you can live with the graphics. If you do a lot of graphics work you might want to consider the MacBook Pro. I use my MacBook for video editing using Final Cut Express HD and it works well. The MB is also not very good for gaming if you are into that. The integrated chip set doesn't work well with 3D games.
    also any other ideas on getting iwork or office, a hard plastic case or a skin,thanks alot for anyone's input it is greatly appreciated.... i am looking to get one once leopard comes out thanks!!
    Depending on your school may be a factor in what you choose. I use iWork and it is pretty good. You could also try NeoOffice or Open Office. They are good also. Office is supposed to be coming out with a new Mac version but not sure yet how it will work.
    Be sure to ask for the student discount when you purchase the computer and software. It adds up.

  • Looking for best practice sending args to classes

    Unfortunately, I'm stuck in a company that only employs MS developers, so I'm kind of stranded with no buddies to mentor my java skills... so thanks in advance for any help, I appreciate it.
    Anyway, I think that I've been doing things the hard way for a while and I'm looking for some sort of best practice to start using. I'm currently working on a GUI that will take all the selections, via combo boxes, text fields, etc., and send them to a class (a web bot, actually) and run it.
    I'm starting to run into the problem of having too many arguments to send to my Bot class. What's a good way that I should be doing this? I figure I can do it a couple of ways, right?
    new Bot(arg1, arg2, ......... argX);
    Bot bot = new Bot();
    bot.setArg1("something");
    bot.setArg2("something");
    etc..
    bot.run();Or, is there a better way? Can I package all the args in a collection somehow?? That way I only have 1 argument to send... I don't know... Thanks for the help.

    Create a class "Data" (for example) that encapsulates all the data you want to pass to the Bot class. Then create an instance of the Data class and set all the relevant fields (i.e. setArg1 etc). Now you pass this Data instance to your Bot class. This way you only have to pass one Object around and you've encapsulated all your data.

  • Looking for information about AS3 sound classes in "audio" wrong places?

    I'm looking for in depth information about ActionScript 3.0 sound classes. No matter where I search I continually encounter the same sort of kindergarten level descriptions, which never teach more than what we can readily glean from Adobe's documentation. Someone must know where there a discussion that really gets to the heart of the matter.
    I've read Adobe's LiveDocs on the Sound, SoundChannel, SoundMixer, SoundTransform classes. Indeed, they provided me enough guidance to create my own streaming MP3 player, with volume, pan, my own custom mono mix, http request, a preloading animation, and peak meters ...
    Here's an example (in the last statement of the following code) where I understand the end effect, but I fail to comprehend what happens at the compiler level:
    var currentSoundSource:Sound = new Sound();
    currentSoundSource.load(new URLRequest("http://www.mySite.com/myRecording.mp3"));
    var audioChannel_01:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();
    audioChannel_01 = currentSoundSource.play();
    Unfortunately the class definitions in LiveDocs are quite terse, and they're seemingly incomplete with respect to:
         •     advice on best practices
         •     a thorough coverage of class to class interactivity
         •     a description of exactly how audio streams/plays into channels
    ... and in certain cases it appears that Adobe's descriptions are not fully accurate.*
    Regarding best practices, at first blush I'm sure everyone ponders over the fact that SoundChannel and SoundMixer have a stop method while the Sound class does not.
    One assumes that this surprising design must bear some advantages. If so,  what are they? Where are the analog sound mixer analogies? What would be the disadvantage of a sound class with a stop method ...  particularly when they have their own play method?
    Where are the discussion of these concepts? (Even if Adobe hired the wrong guy to write its sound classes, there should be some follow through that thoroughly explains the existing situation.)
    Phrankie
    * Here's an instance where the docs appear to be partially in error. (Is "and play" mistakenly included in the following?)
    "The Sound class lets you lets you create a new Sound object [and] load and play an external MP3 file into that object."
    ... uh, mmmmmm ... we play an MP3 into a sound class object?
    Wouldn't it be more accurate to say the following:
    A soundChannel can receive the audio data from a sound class object. We can play a sound object into an SoundChannel and manipulate it by altering the SoundChannel's soundTransform property, and we can stop it with the SoundChannel's stop method.

    Naidu,
    Please try to repeat JavaBean model import when running IDE in console mode (correspondign short-cut should be available in Windows Start menu, otherwise just copy original short-cut, edit it and change in command string "javaw" to java).
    Post here what is shown on console during import.
