Looking for those 500 enterprise services

Hello,
I'm new to SAP and interested in developing apps atop NetWeaver. In his webcasts Shai often refers to "500 documented enterprise web services" (or something similar).
Where are these services documented and how can I get ahold of this document?
Thanks,

The below document should help you.
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/3f6cd467-0301-0010-b099-8bea6d075978
At the same time take a look at this link.
https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/index.sdn?page=ESP/home.htm
This works for me. However in order to access the system you should request and get the access.
On the other hand if you have mySAP ERP, you should have the services. Go to SE80 and execute the BSP application "WebServiceBrowser" and you should be able to see the list of services.
Regards,
Ravi

  • Looking for software or a service with which I can create a personalized photo calendar

    I am looking for software or a service with which I can create a personalized photo calendar. Any recommendations?
    Jerry

    Thanks for the reply.
    iPhoto, unfortunately, has some real problems in my opinion. Control over image placement and size is limited. This is compounded by the fact that Apple has not made the job any easier by refusing to publish information such as recommended aspect ratios and pixel sizes of images used to create a calendar. Obviously, these both change as the page layouts change. But, I don't think it is too much to ask that Apple supply image aspect ratios for each frame size, 2:3, 3:4, 1:1, or something else. What pixel sizes are required for each frame size/aspect? It is impossible to place 2 photos (or 1 photo and a name) on one date should 2 birthdays fall on one day.
    Further, there is no recommendation for color space to be used by the printer.
    I am tired of trying out a photo in the calendar only to find it looks bad at the pixel size and aspect I chose, then have to go back to the original, re-crop, resize, and wrestle with bringing it back to iPhoto. (I use Aperture to organize my images.)
    I must also add that I had a very bad experience with an iPhoto book earlier this year. Don't know if Apple has fixed the problems as I refuse to invest another 20 hours of time and more then $150.00 to find out.
    I am seriously looking for something to replace iPhoto (unless changes are made) to do the 10 or 15 calendars for my family again this year (and possibly redo my book).

  • Looking for a solution or service to export data from a dynamic form into a database

    As the title of this discussion states, I'm looking for a solution or service to export data from a dynamic form into a database to be used for reporting. Creating the dynamic form is not a problem, it's getting it into a database that's more of a nuisance. A dynamic form is needed in order to provide skip logic, hide/reveal, and other similar dynamic features.
    The database hasn't been created, so just looking for the easiest, more effective and dependable solution. The key is being able to run reports off the data later.

    So i set up 2 residential grade routers to test this out. Seems to be working okayish. I believe with directional antenae routers I should achieve what I need.
    As for security I configured each device separately. I set them so only allow the MAC address of the other through wireless. This seems to be the best system for me. Once they are connected even if a MAC is spoofed of the other router it drops automatically because they are always connected. My wired devices get plugged in and recieve an IP from my main network.
    There more testing to be done, but it seems to be working.
    Thanks for your input and suggestions guys. I will be marking this topic as answered.

  • Java Code for using an Enterprise Service?

    Hi,
    I am new to CE , Can some one please provide the code for consuming an Enterprise Service inside my Application Service.
    I have Imprted the Inventory LookUp ES insid emy project, create the default mapping for the same inside an application service, created a method which calls the mapped ES method.
    But I got stuck at this juncture as I dont know how should I recieve the data from the user and through which object also how should I send this data to the ES to recieve the response.
    Please reply ASAP.
    Thanks,
    Manish

    Hi Dipankar,
    i as not aware of the steps which you just mentioned. Here I would like to ask that I should provide the Destination Name as the name of the Application Service or something else.
    Presently I have taken the name of the Aplication Service as the Destination Name and provided the WSDL of the Enterprise Service as the URL.
    And after that I mapped the application service with the Destination Created.
    The implementation code written is :
    public com.sap.xi.appl.global2.InventoryByLocationAndMaterialResponseMessage_SyncType findInventory(java.lang.String id, java.lang.String location) throws com.sap.caf.rt.exception.CAFServiceException {
              com.sap.xi.appl.global2.InventoryByLocationAndMaterialQueryMessage_SyncType request = new InventoryByLocationAndMaterialQueryMessage_SyncType();
              InventoryByLocationAndMaterialQueryMessage_SyncTypeCS1E data = new InventoryByLocationAndMaterialQueryMessage_SyncTypeCS1E();
              Material mat = new Material();
              Location loc = new Location();
              mat.setId(id);
              loc.setId(location);
              List locList = new ArrayList();
              List matList = new ArrayList();
              locList.add(loc);
              matList.add(mat);
              data.setLocation(locList);
              data.setMaterial(matList);
              request.setInventorySelectionByLocationAndMaterial(data);
              com.sap.xi.appl.global2.InventoryByLocationAndMaterialResponseMessage_SyncType response = this.InventoryByLocationAndMaterialQueryResponse_In(request);
              return response;
    I believe that when I test the application service in CAF runtime it will provide the Id and Location when I enter that in the UI to the Application Service and then I can use that to pass the data onto the Enterprise Service.
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    But now I am getting the following error :
    "com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.query.exceptions.TechnicalException: Deserializing WSDL stream http://iwdf0512.wdf.sap.corp:55080/sap/bc/srt/xip/sap/ECC_INVENTORY002QR?sap-client=800&wsdl=1.1 failed "

  • About those 500 enterprise web services

    Hello,
    I'm new to SAP and interested in developing apps atop NetWeaver. In his webcasts Shai often refers to "500 enterprise web services" (or something similar). Where are these services documented and how can I get ahold of this document?
    Thanks,

    Hello Douglass,
    have a look at <a href="https://esapreview.sap.com/socoview(bD1kZSZjPTgwMCZkPW1pbiZ3PTkzNzAwMDAr)/enterpriseservices.asp?$SMCPACKAGEID$">Enterprise Services Index</a>. On the SDN Website you find them via ESA -> ESA Preview System -> <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/index.sdn?page=ESP/home.htm">Enterprise Services Preview</a>.

  • Webdynpro for ABAP versus Enterprise Services

    Hi,
    With ECC 6.0 the WebDynpro for ABAP will be available. After converting my well-known ABAP-dynpro screens to WebDynpro I will have the possibility to expose all R/3 functionality from within the portal.
    Two years from now the Enterprise Services will be there. What will be the reason(s) for using enterprise services instead of WebDynpro for abap to make R/3 functionality available in the portal? I think at the end both functionalities can co-exist but what are the criteria to use one or both methods?
    Greetings Theo

    Theo,
    This is not a discussion relegated to the bar...
    First the short methodology is correct... Id the processes, expose major entry points as Services, orchestrate, publish Service Desc, endpoints, etc., repeat...
    The real question remaining is, if I believe my entire process is incorporated with a single SAP system why would I expose Services (and add the additional layer)?
    I agree with the comment where if a process completely executes in a single environment there is no need to change its strategy and force it to be an orchestrated set of Service interactions.  That is not inconsistent with providing Service interfaces along the process so that it can be composed into other processes either not yet in place or requiring cross-system interaction.  ESA is not saying "break open the container and make every little piece operate as Enterprise Services", instead it guides us to Service enable components so that others can consume them in a standard way, regardless of implementation / execution environment.
    As we think about leveraging ESA for the benefit of our businesses (our enterprise and the ecosystem of business partners and customers) we have to acknowledge that we do not and will not know where every step of a busines process will execute throughout time.  There may be tremendous value in executing part of a process that could be performed in that same SAP system in a completely different environment.  The main benefit of Service enabling is business agility for a reasonable cost.  I would argue that at least the main entry and exit points to major processes should have Service interfaces, followed by a more comprehensive assessment of internal process steps - looking for opportunities.
    The other side of the equation is determining what additional consumers of the process could be found if major parts of the process exposed Service interfaces.  To say, "my process executes inside this one system, so I should not expose it as a set of Services", ignores the potential benefit of other systems being able to incorporate that process in their execution (or parts of a process).  As we expose more, well defined Services that represent aspects of enterprise business processes we create an environment where there is low cost, opportunistic integration based on standards.
    Or put more briefly, make sure to execute your business process in an efficent computing manner, but do not let that constraint limit your thinking when it comes to Services.  They are two different (yet related) issues.  Services simply give us another way to leverage an asset we already have.  Make the asset available and if it has value to the organization, it will be consumed.
    Hope that helps...

  • What adapter to use for calling standard enterprise services from PI?

    When calling a standard enterprise service that rtesides e.g. on an SAP ERP system, what is the adapter that should be used? Is it a WS adapter, a Proxy adapter, or something else?

    You could use Proxy adapter, WS adapter  or  SOAP Adapter

  • Look for JDeveoper 10g Web Services Samples

    We would like to use JDeveloper 10g to create Web Services and create JSP pages to use them.
    If you know a good starting point or where I can find examples, please let me know. I have found some for 9i, but I hope 10g will make the job easier.
    Thanks a lot.

    My original message was referring to Mike's following response.
    The problem is, in the oc4j10.0.3 generated stub, there is no
    m_httpConnection = new OracleSOAPHTTPConnection();
    so how do you set up the proxy properties to the connection?
    Quote
    It may be that you require a proxy server, optionally with proxy authentication to access the Internet from within your intranet. If you are using a proxy server as I am guessing here, look inside your stub for the line that reads:
    m_httpConnection = new OracleSOAPHTTPConnection();
    then after it add these lines:
    Properties props = new Properties();
    props.put(OracleSOAPHTTPConnection.PROXY_AUTH_TYPE, "basic");
    props.put(OracleSOAPHTTPConnection.PROXY_USERNAME, "proxy_username");
    props.put(OracleSOAPHTTPConnection.PROXY_PASSWORD, "proxy_password");
    props.put(OracleSOAPHTTPConnection.PROXY_HOST, "proxy-host");
    props.put(OracleSOAPHTTPConnection.PROXY_PORT, "80");
    m_httpConnection.setProperties(props);
    where "proxy_host" is your proxy serve, "80" is your proxy server port and if your proxy requires a username/password, update the lines above where username and password are defined; otherwise delete those lines.

  • Developement XI-Content for Enterprise Services

    Hi,
    What is XI-Content? And what must be defined in XI-Content for Enterprise Service Enabling?
    We have defined some services as provider, these services are goint to be in XI-Content. But we are also requesting some infromation to business partner, these inforamtion could be services or messages in case our partner does not have services.
    So my feeling is: in XI-Content we need to define:
    Interfaces for the services which we provide;
    Interfaces which we as consumer request?
    Interfaces which from partner as provider?
    Interfaces for the messages which are sending from partner?
    Mapping between the service interfaces (provider <->consumer)
    Mapping between the messages and the services?
    I am sorry, but this is really confusing when we plan the development of XI-content.
    Could you give me a clear picture or guideline according to your experience?
    Thank you very much.
    Jing

    This XI content is nothing but most commonly used integration scenarios for address specific business process requirements for a particular landscape.For Ex:Interface for Creating PO ,Sales Order etc.
    I have read many articles which say that XI Integration Repository will be re-named as Enterprise Service Repository which will enable the customers to kick-start with Enterprise Services.SAP sets the ball rolling by providing 500 Enterprise Services.
    As far as I understand these services are nothing but commonly used re-usable integration scenarios which are powered by Webservices.Enterprise Service Granularity depends on how you define your "Service".
    You have an awesome article on ESA which explains in an excellent way.
    Search the sdn for Enterprise Service Design Guide which can be an answer all your questions.

  • How to activate an enterprise service for use?

    Hi experts,
    I want to use a web service out of the bundle "Technical Document Management Connectivity". The web service is called "Read Document File Variant".
    I know to use WSCONFIG to configure web services for use. But I can not find this web service listed there. I know that we have installed EnhP1 and EnhP2 on our system and the above mentioned web service is shipped with EnhP2.
    Do I have to activate some swichtes within the Switch Framework in transaction SFW5 first? Can somebody tell me which switches to active for what specific enterprise service?
    Thanks a lot for your help.
    Best regards
    Lars

    To explain the concept …
    The Switch Framework allows you to control the visibility of objects or their components by means of switches.Between the business function sets and the industry packages are the switches.
    It is the business function that is switched on, not the switch itself therefore you have to use Transaction SFW5 find the business function and then activate it - in order to use it.
    Hope this helps

  • Looking for BPM Enterprise Edition architecture Diagram

    I am looking for a BPM Enterprise Edition architecture Diagram showing how all the pieces (e.g. BPM, Oracle DB, LDAP directory, WebLogic server, Application server etc.) fit together . If it is available on the internet, can you please let me know the URL ?
    Thanks in advance.

    I have several diagrams you could use but can't paste it in. The product docs on oracle.com have some but if you need something else maybe I can help. I do not publish my email on this site so we would have to find another channel to communicate.

  • OT:Looking for a service that will take donations for a non-profit

    I am looking for a type of service that will take credit card information and allow donation to a non-profit (library in this case). I am not sure anyone here might now of this service, but the local director of the library has asked about this service.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Assuming the non-profit already has  received 501(c)(3) tax status, start with their merchant bank account.   Authorize.net, PayPal and other payment gateways can all process credit cards for non-profits. The benefit of having your own merchant account is that your nonprofit will be the party named on the donor's credit card statements, and funds will flow directly to your nonprofit's bank account.
    If you want 3rd party service that specializes in non-profit solutions, look at Blackbaud.com
