Looking to load embedded PDF at a specific height on the page

I'm looking to load a PDF, scrolled down to a predetermined height on the page. I'm familiar with the 'page' param using <embed>, which will load a particular page, but I'd like to be able to have the document load such that it's displaying a particular portion beginning about 3" from the top. I'd even be happy with being able to load the vertical center of the page. Is there code or an application that will let me do that?

Not that I know of, but I have completely given up on Pages for anything. For labels I use Avery software which is free http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-%26-Software/Software/Avery-Design--P rint.htm

Improving the handling of multiple line text fields is in our plans, but for now, you will have to add manual carriage returns (Enter).

I got a page of 1024x3072 and i need set a button to go on a specific point of the page, for example, from 650px to 724px just using a button.

Try opening it with Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Note: Appleworks is the Apple office like application that stopped being able to run with Mac OS X 10.6.8. If you have a question particular to 10.9, I would ask in the 10.9 (OS X Mavericks) forum.

Controling the look of an embedded PDF

I have been working on trying to control how a pdf created in LiveCycle Designer looks when embedded in a web page. I am a bit irritated because I with Acrobat I can set the form properties to exactly what I want. Why can't designer? Baring that I have been looking in using document level javascript to control the way the object looks. My coding is correct because when I open the pdf in my local reader it does what it is suppose to, but when I open it through the webpage into which it is embedded it revertes back to a regular layout( I'm using app.fullscreen = true;). Does anyone have any ideas about this??????

If you open with the reader, the menu bar of Internet explorer will change. If you open inside the activeX, the menu bar will not change. If this is the case, I think is possible your configuration will not work because the activeX is not exactally the reader. For instance, if you navigate to a xdp/xfdf with Reader, you will be able to open the target PDF. However, if you make that with ActiveX you will not.

When I try to open an embedded PDF file I get an error "The program used to create this object is AcroExch.exe.

When I try to open an embedded PDF file (Word doc) I get an error "The program used to create this object is AcroExch.exe. That program is either not installed on your computer, or is corrupt..." I've tried about everything from unchecking
protected mode at startup to removing & reinstalling Adobe. Nothing seems to fix this issue. Any other ideas?
This is happening on Adobe reader 9, 10 & 11 with MS Word 2010 & 2013. I've uninstalled, cleaned & reinstalled Reader 9, 10 & 11, as well as Acrobat 10 Pro & 11 Standard. Removed "Protected mode at startup, and changed
the default program for viewing from reader to Acrobat. This will not go away. It is affecting production at our company.

" Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder" . i can't find open containing folder in profile directory. it does give me the option to open the places.sqlite file using graphic converter. when i try that, graphic converter gives me a window saying that it can't be opened because it is corrupted or is not a file type supported by graphic converter.
i appreciate your help with a workaround to get the old bookmarks. that works. however, the problem has morphed from that concern to why adobe reader [the default app.] won't open firefox .sqlite files. is the problem in adobe reader or firefox? also, how can i tell if the places.sqlite file is corrupt?

Click on a image in the swf and go to a specific section of the page

Can any one help me with this.
I do have an SWF file (in the main html page) with 6 time
frames. Each frame has 3 images. On the other hand I do have a
second html page that is nothing but the main title and 18
sections. Every section describes one the SWF’s images.

Exporting to PDF cutting off right side of the page.

I am exporting a Crystal Report to PDF. This works perfect on our development and staging server. However, on the production server the PDF is cut off on the right. Like, instead of being 8.5" wide, it looks to be about 7.5" wide? It just cut off the right side of the PDF. Very weird. Republished the site but did not change anything.
But here's the odd part. We have another Crystal Report on the production server that exports to PDF just fine. Just this one report, "invoice2.rpt", is having issues. "invoice2.rpt" was originally copied from "invoice.rpt" so all of the settings (that I have looked at) are exactly the same. This report was formatted a little differently than the original.
Does anyone have any thoughts about what might be causing this to happen?

Hi Randy,
I have seen a similar issue in the past and the problem was due to the fact that some fields and or objects were placed in part or completely outside of the margins of the report. This can be checked opening the report from Crystal Reports > Design view.
I would suggest opening the report from Crystal Reports, select the option 'No printer' from File menu>Page setup and double-check that the report has been created inside the report margins (From Design View, the report space should be white except if the background colour has been modified).
If this does not help, please clarify if the issue is faced from Crystal Reports or from Business Objects Enterprise/Crystal Reports Server and the version you are using.

PDFs are always scaling to fit the page when printing, after OS X 10.9 upgrade

When I try to print a PDF on a sheet that is larger or smaller then the page size I have selected in Acrobat, it always reduces or enlarged it to fit, even when I tell it not to do any scaling. Please see my step by step process below for more details on how I am sending the file to the printer.
Preface:
This problem began after I upgraded my Mac OS to 10.9, and it only applies when I print from Acrobat Pro to our poly platesetter (I work in the prepress department for an offset printer). I have Acrobat Pro 9 and 11 on my computer, and I have the problem using either one.
• I do not have this problem when printing from InDesign, or any other CC application.
• I can print to our four other printers (desktop or copiers) from Acrobat without any scaling problems.
Description of the problem:
This is an example of a file I may need to print, a #10 envelope. The sheet and document sizes are in red.
The 'Page Size' is 4.13" x 9.5" and I have it set to print 'Actual size.' I have also tried 'Custom Scale' at 100%, but I still have the same problem. The preview in the print dialog is correct. It should just print the envelope, not the cropmarks that were on the PDF. I've sent down countless envelopes this way before I upgraded to 10.9 without any trouble.
Above is a screenshot of the file after it has been ripped at our platesetter. You can see it reduced the entire document to fit on the selected page size. The cropmarks should not be there, and it shouldn't have reduced the artwork.
I also have the opposite problem of my artwork being enlarged if I send something down that is smaller than my selected page size.
I know this a very specific problem, so I understand that I may not get much help on it. Thanks in advance for any help you may offer. I have workarounds, but this is really slowing me down, and if I accidentally plate something that was reduced or enlarged can be a very costly mistake if it get printed that way.
My Equipment:
• Early 2008 - Quad-Core Mac Pro 2.8 GHz
• I use Abobe CC applications, but I've tried Acrobat 9.0 as an alterative to Acrobat 11
• Our platesetter is: Mitsubishi SDP-Eco 1630 IIIR
with a Harlequin RIP 9.0 Revision 0

A workaround I found for my Fiery RIP if insist on using Acrobat XI:
In Acrobat's Print dialog, set:
Choose paper source by PDF page size = ticked
Use custom paper size when needed = ticked
In Page Setup, set Page Size = your custom size, i.e. 4.13" x 9.5"
In Printer, open the Fiery driver properties and set Paper Size = your custom size, i.e. 4.13" x 9.5"

How to create links that guide you to a specific title on the page and not the beginning of the page?

I'm trying to create links so that when you click on a title in the table of contents it guides you to the title on the specific page. However, when I do that it always sends me to the beginning of the page even if the title is in the bottom. Anyone knows how to do if I want to get to the title and not to the beginning of the page? When I use Finereader it create links from the table of contents automatically and those links send me to the title no mater where it is on the page. I've tried do edit the settings to look like those links created in Finereader but it doesn't work.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat XI on a Mac Book Air.

How / from what was the PDF originally created? It would be easiest to insert page breaks into the original document, then recreate the PDF.

Reload servlet to a specific area on the page

I have a servlet that refreshes at user defined rate and displays a bunch of different things on the page.
I would like to the user to be able to click on a link that would take him to (for instance) a middle of the page, and when the servlet refreshes again the user will still be in the same area, and not at the top of the page.
I am using meta-refresh to refresh the servlet, and I know I have to use the "A HREF" and "A NAME" commands, but I am unable to do it dynamically.
The simplified segments of my code look like this.

Disney Jr coloring pages will not load using Firefox on my iMac, using Safari the pages will load.

I have a Apple iMac desktop computer that is about a year old, when using Firefox to access the Disney Jr. website the only problem I have is the pages that need to be printed to color will not load, the rest of the site works as it should. When I use Safari to access the same website there are no problems, I prefer to use Firefox as my browser of choice.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Can I open a multiple page PDF I got from email in the Pages app?

How do I open a multiple page PDF that I copied from email? All I get is the first page...... Sure hope I can open PDF...

I don't use the pages app so I couldn't tell you there, however, Adobe a reader for the iPad has no issues with PDF in email. In fact it has a button that you can use to open it right from Adobe a reader without having to open the mail app to get it. Just a suggestion if you can't figure it out with pages.

Loading websites causes Firefox to crash, pressing F5, the page loads correctly

I have users using Mozilla 5.0, when going to any website the browser crashes. Pressing F5, the page will re-load correctly.
This did not happen in version 3.6

I have tried all the basic stuff. The user upgraded from 3.6.3 to version 5.
I checked the hardware, NIC card driver is up to date, Windows 7 PRO is updated as well.
