Loop through elements within nested:iterate tag using javascript

Hello,
I would like to loop through the adjustedLineItems list and set the checkbox values to true on click of a select all button.
I am getting the error document.all['adjustedLineItems.selected'] is null or not an object
however it works if I manually substitute values for i within the function
document.all['adjustedLineItems[0].selected'].checked=true;
document.all['adjustedLineItems[1].selected'].checked=true;
document.all['adjustedLineItems[2].selected'].checked=true;
Could someone please help me do this via a for loop?
Thanks
<nested:iterate name="invoiceForm" property="adjustedLineItems" id="adjli" type="com.bt.lex.common.lineItem.beans.LineItemDetailBean" indexId="idxadjli">
          <tr>
               <td class="dataLeft"><nested:checkbox property="selected"/></td>
               <td class="dataLeft"><nested:write property="liNumber"/></td>
          </tr>
</nested:iterate>
<script type="text/javascript">
function onclick_all(ctl) {
     var checkFlag = "false";
     var count = document.all.numOfAdjustedLIs.value;
     var i = 0;
     //alert(count);
     if(ctl.checked)
          if(checkFlag=="false")
               for (i = 0; i <count; i++)
                    document.all['adjustedLineItems[i].selected'].checked=true;
               checkFlag = "true";
</script>

Its got nothing to do with nested iterate tags :). However,
document.all['adjustedLineItems.selected'].checked=true;
The variable 'i' is not getting evaluated as is evident from the error message - document.all['adjustedLineItems.selected'].
The appearance of 'i' in the error message tells it all, right ? :)
So
document.all['adjustedLineItems[' + i + '].selected'].checked=true;should do the trick.
ram.

  • Overwriting the value of an html:hidden tag using javascript

    Hi!
    Can somebody help me with my problem?
    I need to overwrite the value of my html:hidden tag using javascript, but I dont know how?
    Any help?
    Thanks

    what are you talking about :x
    thats a webapplication question, wrong forum..
    But you are using STRUTS I would say...
    <html:hidden property="hiddenfield"/>This is the proper way of doing it.. but overrighting it
    I don't think you understand why we use that?
    It is only for forms.... we use that for hidden input ... It is common sence not to overrde that value.

  • Looping through elements and assigning the proper attributes

    So I'm trying to loop through all my xml elements. I then
    want to loop through an element and an elements child and all
    attributes assigned inside. Does this make sense, I hope so? This
    is for an on going Cascading menu I have been building. So
    basically every element inside an element would be a submenu of a
    menu. Here is what I have....

    Okay. Much better subject line this time. :)
    You apparently know what a factorial is. You need to multiply the input by all numbers less than it (except for special case of 0! [but, then, you tell them to enter a number between 1 and 12]).
    You don't want your loop to be "while (true)". You can either start at 1 and work your way up to the input number, or start at the input number and work your way down. You may want a 'for' loop instead of a 'while' loop.
    In this (and most cases), think about how you would calculate factorials manually. Write it down in English. Then, translate it to code.
    You've been working on factorials for a while now. You haven't found the algorithm yet?

  • How to create nested xml tags using java parser?

    Hi,
    I need to create a xml file containing following tags using java program-
    <A attr1="abc">
    <B attr2="xyz">
    <C attr3="pqr"> </C>
    </B>
    </A>
    Can anyone please let me know which parser should I use to create the above mentioned xml file?
    If possible, please post a code snippet for the same.
    Thanks in advance..

    Well, you could start by doing it all the 'old fashioned' way; create a String object containing that text and then write it away to a file. Or you could take the time to look at the javadoc for all of the xml support that the Java language itself supplies - XMLReader/Writer for a start. After that put together some code that you think would do the job and ask for help on any specific problems you encounter.

  • Rename an XML tag using javascript

    Dear adobe experts,
    I have a requirement to rename XML tags, in the interface for an adobe form, using javascript.
    the XML looks like this:
    <ELEMENT>
         <DATA>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </DATA>
         <DATA>
              <ROW_IID>1</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </DATA>
    </ELEMENT>
    and the result should look something like this:
    <ELEMENT>
         <CHAIR>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </CHAIR>
         <TABLE>
              <ROW_IID>0</ROW_IID>
              <PARENT>0</PARENT>
              <CHILD>0</CHILD>
         </TABLE>
    </ELEMENT>
    Is this possible and how can I do this? I was hoping that something like renameNode() (for instance) is also possible in the javascript set for adobe forms.
    If it's not possible I'm going to have to create new nodes, put the data from the existing node in the new node and remove the original node. This will be a lot more work and just renaming is easier :-).
    Kind regards,
    Niels

    Hi,

    I used the following codes with ur idea.
                        var renamewith = textbox1.text;
                        try
                            alert(app.activeDocument.xmlTags.item(renamewith).name);

                               var testTag = app.activeDocument.xmlTags.item(renamewith);

  • How to search for a particular element within a XML variable using studio?

    All,
    I am using studio 7.0 to develop a webbased application. In this, i need to access
    an oracle db using a WLAI Application View from my Workflow. I get some data back
    from Oracle as an XML variable and then apply an XPath statement to access the
    individual columns returned.
    My problem arises when there are no records in the db matching my criteria and
    an empty XML variable is returned to me from the app view. In these cases my
    XPath statement fails in studio causing an improper exit.
    Does anybody know how to check for content in a XML varaible using studio? So
    that if there is content i can proceed with XPath and if there is no content,
    then i will take a different route.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Sri

    If I remember correctly, the adapter will return an XML document that contains
    XML elements for each row. You can just simply check the count of these elements
    with an XPath statement: ie. count(response/row)

  • How to fit the images within textframe in indesign using javascript?

    Hi,
    We are using the update script for updating the values in table.
    If i am using images within textframe, the table is not fitting after updating it. Without using images the table is fitting.
    First i have dragged the table in Indesign document. Then i have altered the image size and updated the table using Update script.
    Finally i want to fit the table with the resized images.
    Note: I can get the updated values in table . but i cannot get the resized images.( Now i can get the original image after updating the table)
    Please help me if anyone has idea regarding this issue.

  • Problem in Iterating using logic:iterate tag

    Hi ,
    I am using <logic:iterate> tag to iterate through a list of contents.
    When the List size is 1222, all the Contents in the List are displaying properly.
    When the size execdes 1223, the JSP is not displaying properly.
    I am not getting any exception also.
    I have added try and catch. Still it is not showing any exception.
    When the size is more than 1300, Some contents are not displaying in JSP.
    Can any one provide some inputs, so that I can crack my issue.
    The JSP code :
              <logic:iterate id="someXXXX" property="someXXX" name="someXXX" indexId="count" scope="request">
              <tr>

    get the records and store them in a collection. Store the collection in session. take the first 10 records as a subset and pass it to the iterate tag. use the hidden field to keep the last record number in the jsp. So when you first see the jsp the first 10 records will be shown and when user clicks for next records send the hidden field value to the server and take next 10 records as subset and pass it to iterate tag. This is how you can do this. but if you have thousands of records storing them in the session is not recommended. you can pull them directly from the database.

  • Looping through Multiline list in Workflow

    We have a Workflow that sends an email with an Office document (ie., Excel) as an attachment to each Executing Service Engineer on service items that are relevant for planning. In an attempt to do that we loop through a multiline list, which is used to hold the relevant service items for processing.
    1.     We created an activity step Initialize work items count to store the number of service work items, e.g. Work_items_count
    2.     We use a loop step (loop until) to keep looping while work_items_count has a value greater than zero.
    3.     Within the loop, we use another activity step Get install item ibase components that processes the first item of the multiline container element Work_items and returns the ibase components for the Executing Service Engineer. After processing has completed, we delete the item from Work_items and decrement the counter work_items_count by 1.
    4.     As part of the final steps in the loop, an Excel document is created from a template using a standard object method WF_DOC-CREATE. The document is than converted to an SOFM object using standard object method WF_DOC-CREATE_SOFM, and than an email is generated with the SOFM object as an attachment using standard object method SELFITEM-SENDTASKDESCRIPTION.
    The problem that’s occurring is that on the second loop pass, the status for activity step Get install item ibase components is set to ready expecting user intervention. I know that it’s a dialogue step, but why than does it execute seamlessly on the first loop pass? I’ve set the agent assignment on the Workflow and on the task to General task so that anybody can execute it so I don’t think it’s an agent assignment problem.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? Do i need to use dynamice parallel processing in this case?

  • Looping through javabean array in jsp?

    Hello,
    In my servlet, I created an ArrayList of objects and pass these to a jsp page using:
    req.setAttribute("bean", uploadList);
    The ArrayList contains objects of the FileBean class, with a getIndex, and getDate methods.
    Could any possibly demonstrate how to loop through the ArrayList in the jsp and display the FileBean object values in a html table?
    To display the values of a javabean in jsp pages I normally have to use for example, requestScope.bean.getMethod();
    Thanks

    No, that would be requestScope.bean.attributename, if your getter method has the same name as the attribute you are getting.
    To loop through an array you have to use the c:forEach tag. Check google for "jstl foreach example", there are loads of examples.

  • Looping through items in a web app

    Hi there,
    On this site - http://www.dandmrural.com.au/
    Where it reads Latest news, I have each news piece setup as a content holder with a piece of javascript looping through them.
    I want to modify this to use Web apps so the client can add and remove items themselves and have them looping through as they do now.
    Using a Webapp I have access to {module_webapps,20117,a} which lists out all the items and {module_webappscount,20117} which gives me a count of the number of items.
    Can someone please give me some pointers on how to go about migrating from a content holder setup to using webapps.
    Thanks, Ben

    Your first step should be to customize the web app item list layout to match how each item is rendered in the shared content holder. From there, you should recreate each news item as an individual web app items. Finally, replace the content holder with the web app item list module ( {module_webapps,20117,a} ). It appears that the script that is responsible for handling the looping can be found here and is not relying on any sort of fixed number to control the transitions. Instead, it simply is looking for any divs which have an id that begin with "content-" and fades them in & out in whatever order it finds them until it reaches the final item and then starts over.
    Additionally, I would recommend adding some sort of incremental counter to your div id within your list template. Currently, the divs which contain each of the three news items share the same id attribute of "content-" which is not something you want.
    Something like this in your list layout should do the trick:
    <div id="content-{tag_counter}">

  • Retrieving and Resetting textEdit Content Using JavaScript

    I need to retrieve the content within a textEdit box using JavaScript, and then append a String to that content, and re-enter that content as the inner content of a textEdit box.  Does anyone know how to do this?
    I tried using jsObjectNeeded for textEdit, but it is an invalid parameter for that object.  I also tried grabbing the ID in a round-about way in JavaScript using _1texteditor or _1htmlbeditor, but I get an "Object Expected" error everytime.
    Here is the item I am working with, and within my JS method, I need to grab the text inside, append a string to it, and reset that new content as the text within the edit box.
    <hbj:textEdit id="summaryBox"
       text="Add summary here."
       wrapping="SOFT"

       rows="5"
       cols="70">
    This is the content inside the box.
    </hbj:textEdit>
    Thanks in advance for your help...

    Thank you for your help, guys, but neither suggestion solved my problem and I solved it on my own.  You have to find the parameter ID through a line of Java, like Damian had mentioned about an ID, but I was looking for the value within the textEdit, not the ID.
    In the JavaScript method, you set a variable to the Java variable, which found the parameter ID.
    Then, using that JS variable, you do:
    var blah = <%=javaParameterId%>;
    var funcName = htmlb_formid+"_getHtmlbElementId";
    func = window[funcName];
    var textEditField = eval(htmlb_formid + "." + blah);
    var wordsWithTexEdit = textEditField.value;
    Thanks anyways...
