Looping Video - No Buttons

In a motion menu when I loop the video to play the last few seconds I loose the buttons up until the looping point when they come on the screen.  How do I loop video but have the buttons on the menu from the start?
Thanks.

Maybe this becomes something I need to do in AE, but here's what I'm trying to do:
I've created video (about 50 seconds).  The final 10 seconds are a blurred frame (still) - my hope was to have the menus on from the start of the motion menu and loop the video w/ the final few seconds for the bed.  I saw it was done in a Lynda.com tutorial, but the bottons were animated in AE...that being said in the lesson I saw the looping video had the buttons on the entire time, so your comment makes sense.  I will check out the section you suggest as well.
Thanks.

  • Video in button Selected state?

    I'm rusty in DVDSP - been a couple of years since my last DVD menu project, but I have one now and the client has provided the menu art and description of what they want - but there are 2 items I'm not sure if I can include the way they want, and before I re-prep their art for Studio Pro (because, of course, it was prepped as if for print), I want to determine the best course to take, and reset their expectations, if necessary.
    1) They want video to play in a button, but only when it is selected - I can drop video in using shapes, but it's playing in all states. I can't use a layered menu, because the background also is motion (subtle looping, but motion just the same). Thought maybe I'd build the motion in the buttons and mask over with a still in normal state, reveal in selected, but can't seem to get there. So any ideas, or am I spinning my wheels trying to accomplish?
    2) They've prepped the buttons as if rollovers in a Flash presentation - the normal state has an image with a white border around it and title underneath - but the selected state has those as black PLUS a small arrow pointing at the title. I can't do a straight shape with text, because the arrow element will be present in all states. I can't do a layered menu because of the motion background. So what I've come up with is embedding the normal states of the button (white, without the arrow) into the motion background, and then create a shape with the text (black, with the arrow) but with only the highlight layer and no shape layer so that only the black highlight layer shows up over it when selected. This works, but I have to position it PRECISELY over the background normal button, or else white edges show and it gets ugly. So, is there a better way to do this that I'm overlooking?
    Thanks very much to anyone who has taken the time to read this novel, and even more thanks to anyone who has some insight into any possible solutions (or lack thereof).

    There is another way, but it's tricky.
    You create a series of menus that are almost identical. In the first, all buttons show still images, and the button auto activates to a copy of the menu where the appropriate button shows a video. If you have four buttons, you'll need five menus all exactly the same except in the last four, single buttons have video, others are stills. Every button that is a still auto activates to go to the appropriate menu where that button has video. Every video based button links to the relevant track.
    In practice, the user will see a still image, and when they select it (or roll over with a mouse if on a computer) the menu will jump to the associated sub menu where that button now has video and the others show stills.
    The problem here is that on some (most) players there will be a pause between the menus, and it won't be a slick and quick change.
    Using the masking technique is better in lots of ways, however as Drew said it will be hard to match the colours. Also, the mask shape will need to be your 'still' image (which might help obscure the colour differences) and this can only have four colours.
    A further consideration is that the mask shape will be part of the button highlight (well.... it will BE the button highlight) and as such will exist in the subpicture stream. It is impossible to guarantee that this will stay in place or be in place when leaving or entering a menu. In effect, when you click a button the first thing to disappear is the sub picture stream, which means all of your videos will be visible for a fraction of a second, or perhaps slightly longer. Secondly, when entering a menu, the last thing to be created is the subpicture stream, which means that all of your button videos will be showing for a fraction of a second until they get covered.
    The amount of delay in each case will depend on the player. For some it'll be tiny. For others it'll be seconds and will ruin the effect you are looking for.
    I would probably prefer the delay as you change menus to the revelation of all the button videos, but you'll have to decide for yourself which is better!

  • Embedded Looping Video and stop();

    HI
    I have embedded a looped video into a flash slideshow where i
    use a next and previous button to navigate from one slide to the
    next.
    My question is can you insert a stop(); command in the frame
    where the looping video is placed so i can hold the slideshow on
    that slide (until i hit the next button) without stopping the
    video?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    create a new fla with something on its timeline so you can see if it loops and attach:
    stop();
    to its last frame.  does it loop?  if yes, zip your fla and attach it.

  • No video call buttons

    Just loaded Skype on my android phone and my iphone why are there no video. Buttons ?

    A Video Call button may not be available when the following criteria is met:
    The device is not compatible with video calling. This usually applies to older devices.
    You do not have the latest version of Skype. Be sure you're up to date using the "My Apps" section of the Play Store. or the App Store on your iPhone.
    When using a third-party client, video calling may not be available for Skype or may not be officially supported. Always use the official Skype client for your device when making video calls, which is fully supported.
    If anything else, please reply. If you're not using the officially-supported Skype client, please install that first and then let me know if the problem still persists.

  • Need to find Video Effect Button cuz its not in Inspector

    In my iMovie 11 i have audio effect instead of video effects in the inspector.
    i don't know how to change it/ or find video effects button. Help? thanks

    It seems that you are opening the Inspector from a clip in the Event Library. Video effects are not available for Event clips. You need to create a Project, then drag clips (or segments of clips) from the Event to the project timeline. For a new Project, select from the menu File > New Project.
    Double-click on a clip in the Project to open the Inspector. In the Inspector's Clip tab you will see the following:
    Click on the Video Effect selection bar to reveal the following panel:

    I suggest you to wait before buying an Isight or any webcam on Mac. I haven't been able to make video communication with other MSN users. MSN for mac doesn't offer video functionality. I've tried third pary MSN clients : aMSN, Mecury, but without success.
    I'm afraid there's no solution at the moment. I've posted several messages, but nobody gives me a solution to that problem, except telling me to use Yahoo or AOL, but nobody uses Yahoo or AOL on PC in Europe and nobody want to install another programm, just because you use another technologie.

    Ok, here's a working testcase.
    The idea is taken from an article from an oracle magazine (i don't have it at hand, , so i tried to rebuild it by "memory". As far as i remember the original was from the german doag-magazine and was written by Gerd Volberg).
    Procedure to do the looping:
    PROCEDURE PR_DO_THE_LOOP IS
      nNumberInOneStep NUMBER:=2;
      tm               TIMER;
    BEGIN
         DEFAULT_VALUE(0, 'GLOBAL.INDEX');
      IF :GLOBAL.INDEX=0 THEN
           -- Didn't run yet, determine the max count
           :GLOBAL.MAX:=10000;
      END IF;
      LOOP
           -- Do the looping stuff
           -- Decrease counter
           nNumberInOneStep:=nNumberInOneStep-1;
           -- Increase globale counter
           :GLOBAL.INDEX:=:GLOBAL.INDEX+1;
           -- Exit conditions
           EXIT WHEN nNumberInOneStep=0;
           EXIT WHEN TO_NUMBER(:GLOBAL.INDEX)>=TO_NUMBER(:GLOBAL.MAX);
      END LOOP;
      -- reset index at end
      IF TO_NUMBER(:GLOBAL.INDEX)>=TO_NUMBER(:GLOBAL.MAX) THEN
           :GLOBAL.INDEX:=0;
      ELSE
           -- start timer for next iteration

      END IF;

  • Loop videos in keynote on iPad

    Hi
    is there a way that i can loop videos in a keynote presentation on the iPad?
    I made a 3D animation of a protein as an mpeg file and would like to loop the clip so it keeps on turning around until i go to the next slide... Is there a way to do that or do i have to create a video on my pc?
    Greetings!

  • Video play button disappears after press

    I am trying to create an onscreen video play button that
    disappears after activation. I've created a Youtube looking play
    button that covers my flv. I've used simple action script with the
    button to play the video when pressed. What action script do I add
    to tell the play button to disappear once the play button is
    pressed and to reappear once the video is done playing?

    Hi Nick,
    I have attached the file that is causing me the problem. Basically I wrote a vi that can read a .TDMS file on the target RT PXI, and view it in a graphical format with the ability to view multiple channels.
    I'm not sure if it will run on your PC as there are some file paths that need to be set, but I think it can be changed easily.
    To replicate the problem:
    Run the VI, go to the second tab and open some .TDMS file, hit the OPEN button. Resize the window, and try pressing any of the enabled buttons on either tab after the window resize. 90% of the time the button should just disappear after pressing it.
    The "Channel" list table should also disappear when one try to select any of the items after a window resize etc.
    Thank you very much.

  • Bug: Export to QT with a looping video inside

    Hi,
    I posted on this exact same problem about a year ago for Keynote 2.x (or was it 1.x ?). The problem (feature, bug?) was and still is:
    I have a self running Keynote presentation (3.0.1). Inside this presentation are in some places looping QT movies. When I export the entire presentation to QT, the looping videos inside only run once (i.e. do not loop).
    As this did not get fixed in 3.0, either:
    a) this is a feature, not a bug
    b) no one from apple reads this list
    Regards,
    Gert

    Welcome back to the discussions, Gert.
    a) it's not a feature or a bug.
    When you export to QuickTime, you are taking all of the media and laying it out linearly. Since a loop isn't linear (start, play, end, back to beginning, play, end, etc), it gets removed.
    COULD Apple do this? Yes, but it would also mean that the exported movie would now be in an extra number of files and past experience indicates that this might be more confusing to the consumer (export a presentation with a background movie track and you'll see a "soundtrack" file).
    b) well someone has to read and moderate it to make sure we're not getting out of line, but this is a user to user discussion board first and foremost.
