Lost first install disc of retail Tiger box set....

I have lost my first installation disc for Tiger. Still have other two, but lost first one. Any recourse through support to rectify my blunder short of repurchase? Need to do reinstall.

Hi llewdis, Welcome to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
I would call Apple. It will help if you can find your registration number or are registered as owner w Apple. There is probably a fee but much less than a new purchase. As I recall, they are fairly nice about that particularly since you only want one.

You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.

  • Lost/misplaced install disc

I have lost my install disc to Tiger!! help? How can I get another one???

See if you can find a Tiger retail package on eBay. If you are referring to the original installer discs that came with your computer then call AppleCare to see if you can purchase replacements.

  • I uninstalled iWork 09 and lost the install disc - is there any way to get it back?

That doesn't sound like a wise thing to have done.
At this point having lost your software purchase, the quickest way will be to purchase and install it from the Mac App Store. It is not expensive and can then be installed on multiple Macs using the same Apple I.D.

  • HT1349 Upgrade retail Mac Box Set apps in Yosemite through App store.

I did a clean install of Yosemite and am now reinstalling iWork and iLife apps from my retail Mac Box Set. It installs but when I try to upgrade the software I get the message that it does not qualify to upgrade with my User ID. Is this because I didn't originally register it correctly? I tried doing the registration through the iWork apps but still get the same message. Are these earlier apps useless now and must be repurchased through the App Store?

Perform the following, stopping with the first one which works:
    1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept them into your Apple ID, do so.
    2. Move them out of the Applications folder(they may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download them for free from their individual product pages. If you're asked to buy them, see #3.
    3. Click here, contact Apple, and wait for a response.
    4. Buy them.

  • I don't have a good good disc for the mac box set can i get it with it my serial no.

I don't have a good good disc for the mac box set can i get it with it my box number?

If this is a new box you just bought ad the disk is bad, Apple will replace it for you.  OTOH, if you have lost the disk or it has become damaged over time, that is your responsibility, and though I don't speak for Apple, I'd be very surprised if you had any option other than buying another copy.

  • Does the retail / upgrade boxed set contain the update?

basically that's what I need to know
I'm getting together another coupled of machines and need to know
if the updated version will be shipped or will I still need to get
    the patch after the fact?

    >does the retail / upgrade boxed set contain the update?
I very much doubt it - the boxed sets are always done in a large run, and a repress for an update is unlikely. Anyway, it's easy to tell; if you install the boxed product and it says 3.0.1 then it will be. But as I said, I rather doubt it...

  • I've lost my install discs... What can I do? .

So, on my way home with my computer several stops were made, and during one of them, a bag was dropped unnoticed. Problem is it contained the install discs for the computer (specs at the bottom of my note).
Can someone tell me if it will be possible to purchase new discs from apple? I absolutely need them because when the computer was being set up (transferring data), my cousin "replaced" my font book with the one from my other G4 (800mhz/10.4.11), thinking the fonts would carry over.
Now I can't open the font book at all, which means that I can't install new fonts for my photoshop program. I get an error message saying, *"You cannot use the application "Font Book" with this version of OSX."*
If anyone has any suggestions on where I can buy restore discs for my G4 or how I can fix my font book application, I'd really appreciate it.

Okay, but will that reinstall my font book? The person I bought my computer from had leo already installed. I offered to buy the master disc
from him (the disc he used on my computer), but he wouldn't sell. Instead, he just gave me a burned copy "in case I ran into trouble". Luckily,
that was in my purse, but the others discs were in a separate bag and were lost.
I'm not having any issue with anything except my fonts. Someone suggested using Pacifist to remove the font book from the install disc,
but I don't have the ones that came with the computer anymore.
Do you know if the font book can be extracted from the leopard disc?
(Forgive me if my questions seem silly, but I'm not savvy at all.)

  • Need to reinstall leopard but lost my install disc

hello, i want to reformat my mac book pro but i cant find my leopard install disc. can i download it?

Call Apple Customer Support 1-800-767-2775 (telephone numbers for other countries - http://www.apple.com/contact/phone_contacts.html). Provide the serial number and specifications of the Mac.  They may be able to provide a replacement set of discs for a fee.  These discs will be for whatever OS was installed on the computer originally, so if you have an upgraded version you will need to obtain the discs some other way.

  • Lost original instal disc

My iMac came pre-installed with Aperture 2 which I subsequently upgraded to v3 however I have stupidly misplaced the original aperture 2 instal disc.  I'm now trying to load Aperture on my MacBook Air  and don't have an install disk or original serial number.  I've downloaded the trial version of Aperture 3 to my MacBook but when I try to enter the serial number from the "About Aperture" drop down I get the message that its invalid as I need the original serial number for Aperture 2 not the upgrade one.  Anybody got any ideas how to get the original serial number back?

I recently did a clean install of ML 10.8 (on version 10.8.2) on my iMac (did a HDD upgrade)
When I now try to install my Logic Studio Box Set from the disc I get this error...
I don't know of a way to upgrade to the APP Store version from my serial number... and I can't find a pro app support number -
    Suggestions?

I have Logic Studio v9 box set...
Not Logic Studio 8 Box Set... ??
I purchased the Logic Studio v9 Box set right after it came out - but slightly before it was put on the app store...
I asked Apple if I could transfer my serial number to the app store - and they said "no" that wasnt possible... even though I legally own Logic Studio v9

  • Volume Needs Repair - Lost My Install Discs. . .

    Hi all. .
I have lost the discs for my MacBook Pro. I need to repair my drive and i cant do this unless i have the discs.
Does anyone know where i can get replacements from?
    Thanks, Benji

+I need to repair my drive and i cant do this unless i have the discs.+
    There is another way ...
Boot holding down Apple/S and don't let go until you see scrolling text.
When that stops and you see a root#: prompt enter
    fsck -fy
Let it run through all the checks and repairs.
If it fails first time, at any time, or finds and fixes a fault - run the command again and keep doing so (some fixes can take several passes) until it says "Appears to be OK" then enter
    reboot

  • Lost the install disc

i have a WRT54G wireless router and my computer recently crashed and i was wondering if there was anyway to install the router on another computer without the disc, any help would be much appreciated.

If the router was working and you have not changed anything, simply connect the computer to the router. You don't "install" a router on a computer. The router is like a standalone computer. The router has no display and no keyboard though. Thus the configuration of the router must happen through the network connection from another PC. Only because you use the setup program on the CD on a specific computer does not make this PC any special. It is just the computer on which you run the setup program once to do the initial configuration of the router.
Thus, if the router is correctly configured you simply plug in a computer and it should work automatically. The default settings on a Windows PC are to use DHCP which means the computer will automatically get an IP address from the router.
Otherwise, go to the technical support pages for you router on the linksys web site. You'll find several tools which help you with the initial setup of the router, several FAQ articles on the topic, and you can download the manual from there, too.
