Lost sync data - said error while syncing, and next time, everything was gone

Hey,
I was using sync with my sync account chrisbuchholz (this chrisbookwood is an old support account i had) and it worked fine. Had about 24 bookmarks synced. But then I noticed it said - down in the corner of the statusbar - "error while syncing". I didnt think much of it, but the next time I opened firefox, all my bookmarks was gone, and i was left with the default set of bookmarks. I tried pressing the "sync now" button and whatnot but it didnt help.
Then I tried reinstalling firefox and setting up sync again, but i still only get the default set up bookmarks.
Can you please recover my bookmarks and tell me what is wrong?
By the way, I am using Firefox 4 beta 6 on Fedora 14.

I had the same problem and I fixed it as following (See if it's the same case for you) :
1. Goto Tools > Options.
2. Under Advanced, select the Network Tab.
3. Click on Settings in the "Connection" box (open connection settings).
4. Check if "Automatic Proxy Configuration URL" is selected. If it is so, select "No proxy" instead or manually enter your proxy if you are using one.
The option "Automatic Proxy Configuration URL" was the culprit for me and some others as well and selecting "No proxy" instead cured our problems. It is a bug and has already been reported on Bugzilla as you can see here :

I set up sync successfully, it syncs, and next time or a few days later, it tells me that sync is not setup. This keeps on happening again and again...

This happened after I upgraded to v5.0. It also happens on my firefox browser at work. I have no problem setting up sync, and it does sync successfully both at home and in the office. Except that next time I check, just in case, the menu option is back to "Set up sync..." and I have to start all over again. Both my browsers are the same version. One runs on Windows XP the other on Vista.

Unfortunately that article did not help. The prefs.js file is fine, it gets updated by firefox every time I changed preferences, etc. However, the next day, sync is not setup. Yet, the sync info is all in the prefs.js file as it was the day before when it worked. What gives... Can anybody help?

I created a basic DBAdapter in JDeveloper, got the xsd file, wsdl file, .jca file and the topLink mapping file imported them into OSB project.
Then I used the .jca file to generate a business service, and tested, then the error occurs as described above.

We are getting Duplicate data Records error while loading the Profit centre Master data. Master data contains time dependent attributes.
the load is direct update. So i made it red and tried to reloaded from PSA even though it is throwing same error.
I checked in PSA. Showing red which records have same Profit centre.
Could any one give us any suggestions to resolve the issues please.

Hi Raju,
I assume there are no routines written in the update rules and also you ae directly loading the data from R/3 ( not from any ODS). If that is the case then it could be that, the data maintained in R/3 has overlapping time intervals (since time dependency of attributes is involved). Check your PSA if the same profit center has time intervals which over lap. In that case, you need to get this fixed in R/3. If there are no overlapping time intervals, you can simply increase the error tolerance limit in your info-package and repeat the load.

I had the same error and reported it to Oracle. They requested an XER copy and I am waiting for thier response. This problem is for that particular project only. To work around it do the following:
Create a new project, open both projects, go to wbs view, copy all wbs's from the correpted project to the new project. The new project will work fine and get rid of the correpted one.

update : so after reading numerous posts, I tried unchecking entire playlist and just tried one of my playlists. That sync seemed to work, so I rechecked entire playlist and did the sync. It worked. Then I went in to my "walk to work" playlist and added some songs to see if it would sync now, and it did!!! so happy now. will see what happens tomorrow.

Query Parameter Data Type error betwee IE6 and IE7

Hello all.
This is a strange one. Using MII v12. When setting parameters for a SQL query from Javascript, the query executes properly on IE7 but generates errors on IE6. The errors are JDBC errors having to do with "Conversion failed when converting datetime from character string." and "Error converting data type varchar to numeric." I don't get any browser errors, only Java errors and NetWeaver log entries.
What is the source of this data typing error?

Actually, IE was always an anomaly when it came to proper typing of objects in Javascript, so it let you get away with things that really shouldn't work.
In general, you should use the Number Javascript type for number properties (e.g. setRowCount(), setXAxisMinRange(), etc) and strings for just about everything else. If I recall, Javascript will handle most of the type conversions to a String property, but not necessarily to a Number property.
You can use the parseInt() and parseFloat() methods to convert from strings to numbers in Javascript.
In general, it's a good practice to be "type aware" in your Javascript code anyway, and this will ensure that it runs in other browsers and future browsers.

Queues are only good to transfer data if your application isn't deterministic. Since you are using Real Time, I am assuming that your application requires determinism. If you are using Timed Loops and you use queues to transfer data between your loops, you are losing determinism. In this case, you need to use the RT FIFO functions.
