Lots of errors in LDAP Logs

We are having some issues with some user accounts, and I went into the logs to see what I could find. I am getting tons of errors in LDAP alone. Here is from the last 30 minutes. Not sure what is means exactly... Can anybody shed some light on this

  • Question about "(authAuthority) index_param failed (18)" error LDAP Log

After a couple months of working through many 10.5 OD problems (now 10.5.2 on Mac Pro) I've worked out most and only have the following error in LDAP Log
    Apr 23 18:31:29 crashdummy slapd[102]: <= bdbsubstringcandidates: (authAuthority) index_param failed (18)
I know its not a critical issue and everything finally seems stable but I'd like to check know what's going on.
I tried indexing authAthority in slapd_macosxserver.conf with equality, substring, and presence directives with no change. (using slapindex after unloading )
One issue might be that the authAuthority attribute on computers and users in LDAP has 2 entries, ApplePasswordServer and Kerberosv5.
I'm new to Apple environment, so I'm not sure if this is normal.
Should there be only one entry?
I can delete ApplePasswordServer and still everything works OK including Home folders on an AFP share.
So I'd like to know if anyone who doesn't get this error has only one entry in authAuthority attribute..

I think you need to keep ApplePasswordServer in there if you want to be able to support authentication without Kerberos, like when ticket has expired.
I currently have the same issue. As I understand this is not a serious warning but I'd still like to resolve it and stop cluttering my logs. I've tried changing LDAP mappings between "From Server" and "Opend Directory" and adding the value to conf and indexing, as did you, but this doesn't seem to have any effect. I'm also seeing occasional ipHostNumber failures.
It very well might be a bug in the software because indexing doesn't resolve it. I've looked around but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer.

  • Lots of errors for some computers bound to open directory

Once in a while we get a lot of errors in our logs related to a computer bound to open directory. Could anyne explain what these are and how we can prevent them?

I'm not sure that last output means anything useful. In lwp_cond_wait, the value for arg2 is a pointer to struct timespec_t. Since arg2 itself is typed uint64_t, what you're quantizing on are raw pointer values, not time. timespec_t looks like this:
    typedef struct timespec {          /* definition per POSIX.4 */
         time_t          tv_sec;          /* seconds */
         long          tv_nsec;     /* and nanoseconds */
    } timespec_t;

  • Unknown error  LDAP Log

Getting this error every few seconds in the LDAP log.
fileserver slapd[55]: SASL [conn=4713] Failure: GSSAPI Error: Unspecified GSS failure. Minor code may provide more information (Key table entry not found)
Any ideas on how to solve it?

    Mitch

Been there done that have the t-shirt.
Here is how I fixed it.
    Go into Server Manager app.
Click on Open Directory on the left hand side.
Click on Settings at the top
    Click on LDAP
I am assuming you are using SSL for your LDAP connections.
Uncheck "Enable SSL" and click Save
    Wait 30 seconds
Check "Enable SSL" and make sure you reselect your SSL cert.
    Click Save
Your GSSAPI error will be cured until the next time you reboot or start/stop LDAP.
Then just repeat the process above.
    Hope that helps.
Another sympton of the GSSAPI error (Key table entry not found) is that your diradmin user will NOT be able to authenticate!
That's pretty awesome (end sarcasm) and I wish APPLE WOULD FIX THIS as it took a lot of trial and error to figure this out.
FWIW, I'm using a Go Daddy SSL cert which also requires an intermediate cert.

  • Lots of error in server's system log

I just installed SAPNetWeaver04_SP16Preview in a fresh Windows 2003 SP1. I am running it in VMware 1.0.3. I assigned VM 924MB RAM, 32GB hard drive and 2 Processors. Running JDK 1.4.2_09
After installation, I start the <b>J2E</b> from <b>SAP Management Console</b>. After the server is completely running. I look at the log (<i>\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\system\logging.0.log</i>). It is 1600KB now. I see a lot of similar errors. They are all from com.sap.tc.logging.FileLogInfoData
I post the very first one here

Not sure if they are related. However, I don't have folder with is "<b>C:\tmp\</b>". I only have "<b>C:\TEMP\</b>". I checked the system variables, "%TEMP%" and "%TMP" are point to "%SystemRoot%\TEMP".
So how can I fix all exception in the logs. What should I look at first? My goal is to use SAP logging. I tried on the other system and what I got is similar error from FileLogInfoData. So I thought I may mess up the setting. I install on the fresh OS, I have no clue now. Any suggestion would help.

    Hi,
    1.Try using latest JDK,j2sdk1.4.2_13.
2.Check if environment variables <b>JAVA_HOME</b> and <b>path</b> are set correctly
3.Check if there is sufficient space in installation drive.
4.try connecting to database and see if data logs are full.remove unnecessary logs in database.
5.manually start all services through telnet or visual admin.
    reward points if helpful.........

  • ICloud Notes app is logging lots of errors deny file-write-create externalrecordsworkfiles et al

I am getting intermittent error in the log, when using Notes in iCloud storage. When the errors come, they come in large batches.
Like this, many of them (dozens in one note-writing session)
    2/11/13 1:04:17.525 PM sandboxd[1097]: ([363]) Notes(363) deny file-write-create /Library/Caches/com.apple.coredata.externalrecordsworkfiles
    And fewer of these:
    2/11/13 1:00:52.000 PM kernel[0]: Sandbox: sandboxd(1097) deny mach-lookup com.apple.coresymbolicationd
    And one of these:
    2/11/13 12:52:47.130 PM sandboxd[1090]: ([1091]) mdworker(1091) deny file-write-owner /Users/xxxxxxxx/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes/NotesV1.s toredata-wal (import fstype:hfs fsflag:480D100 flags:240000005F diag:0 uti:com.apple.notes.externalrecord plugin:/Library/Spotlight/Notes.mdimporter - find suspect file using: sudo mdutil -t 5593589)
It is clear to me Notes is having problems. I've seen this when using Notes since upgrading to 10.8, but also after upgrade to 10.8.2 recently (MBPro 2011 13", SRAM disk).  I go typing away in toes but I see the Console icone bouncing in the dock while I'm working.
I'll run disk-verify-fix but I'm not seeing a lot of relevant entries, just this so far:
    Verifying permissions for “Macintosh HD”
Group differs on “Library/Java”; should be 0; group is 80.
    Permissions differ on “Library/Java”; should be drwxr-xr-x ; they are drwxrwxr-x .
Permissions differ on “System/Library/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/CoreGraphics”; should be lrwxrwxrwx ; they are lrwxr-xr-x .
Permissions differ on “System/Library/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/Resources”; should be lrwxrwxrwx ; they are lrwxr-xr-x .
Permissions differ on “System/Library/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/Versions/Current”; should be lrwxrwxrwx ; they are lrwxr-xr-x .
    - all permissions now fixed.

When you say using the JDK you mean just using a simple text editor and command line to compile?
I'm not too bothered about decompilation as I doubt anyone would go though the effort to decompile this particular program. As it currently stands I'm the only one known in my college class to try my hand at Java anyway. Anyone else handing a java project in would be very suspicious.
How big would the program be if the JVM was included? Is it an intricate process to combine the two?
I am aware that any code can be decompiled but e.g. VB programs can only be decompiled into assembly... atleast I have yet to see a proper VB decompiler in action.
The app.path Java equivelant I need so the files needed by the program which should be in the same directory can be found with ease.
What compiler did JBuilder come with? It's own or did they simply include Sun's?
Whats the general opinion of V J++? is it pretty much Java or has M$ screwed it over and turned it into their own?
When an argument is passed to a method in Java is it referenced in memory or is a copy created? How do I pass an array to a method? and not create a copy of it? ref?
Can applets perform read and write actions on the machine it is stored? Can I refuse connections if a client is already connected?
    Thanx

  • Seemingly successful install of Exchange 2013 SP1 turns into many errors in event logs after upgrade to CU7

I have a new Exchange 2013 server with plans to migrate from my current Exchange 2007 Server.
I installed Exchange 2013 SP1 and the only errors I saw in the event log seemed to be long standing known issues that did not indicate an actual problem (based on what I read online).
I updated to CU7 and now lots of errors have appeared (although the old ones seem to have been fixed so I have that going for me).
Currently the Exchange 2013 server is not in use and clients are still hitting the 2007 server.
    Issue 1)
After each reboot I get a Kernel-EventTracing 2 error.  I cannot find anything on this on the internet so I have no idea what it is.
Session "FastDocTracingSession" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035
I did read other accounts of this error with a different name in the quotes but still can’t tell what this is or where it is coming from.
    Issue 2)
I am still getting 5 MSExchange Common 106 errors even after reregistering all of the perf counters per this page:
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2870416?wa=wsignin1.0
One of the perf counters fails to register using the script from the link above.

But that one seems unrelated to the ones that still throw errors.

    Issue 3)
I appear to have some issues related to the healthmailboxes.
I get MSExchangeTransport 1025 errors for multiple healthmailboxes.
SMTP rejected a (P1) mail from 'HealthMailbox23b10b91745648819139ee691dc97eb6@<my domain>.local' with 'Client Proxy <my server>' connector and the user authenticated as 'HealthMailbox23b10b91745648819139ee691dc97eb6'. The Active Directory
lookup for the sender address returned validation errors. Microsoft.Exchange.Data.ProviderError
I reran setup /prepareAD to try and remedy this but I am still getting some.
    Issue 4)
I am getting an MSExchange RBAC 74 error.
(Process w3wp.exe, PID 984) Connection leak detected for key <my domain>.local/Admins/Administrator in Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Authorization.WSManBudgetManager class. Leaked Value 1.
    Issue 5)
I am getting MSExchange Assistants 9042 warnings on both databases.
Service MSExchangeMailboxAssistants. Probe Time Based Assistant for database Database02 (c83dbd91-7cc4-4412-912e-1b87ca6eb0ab) is exiting a work cycle. No mailboxes were successfully processed. 2 mailboxes were skipped due to errors. 0 mailboxes were
skipped due to failure to open a store session. 0 mailboxes were retried. There are 0 mailboxes in this database remaining to be processed.
Some research suggested this may be related to deleted mailboxes however I have never had any actual user mailboxes on this server.
If they are healthmailboxes or arbitration mailboxes that might make sense but I am unsure of what to do on this.
    Issue 6)
At boot I am getting an MSExchange ActiveSync warning 1033
The setting SupportedIPMTypes in the Web.Config file was missing.
    Using default value of System.Collections.Generic.List`1[System.String].
I don't know why but this forum is removing some of my spacing that would make parts of this easier to read.

    Hi Eric
Yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled Exchange 2013 CU7 for the 3rd time.
I realize you said one issue per forum thread but since I already started this thread with many issues I will at least post what I have discovered on them in case someone finds their way here from a web search.
I have an existing Exchange 2007 server in the environment so I am unable to create email address policies that are defined by “recipient container”.
If I try and do so I get “You can't specify the recipient container because legacy servers are detected.”
So I cannot create a normal email address policy and restrict it to an OU without resorting to some fancy filtering.
Instead what I have done is use PS to modify extensionAttribute1 (otherwise known as Custom Attribute 1 to exchange) for all of my users.
I then applied an address policy to them and gave it the highest priority.
Then I set a default email address policy for the entire organization.
After reinstalling Exchange all of my system mailboxes were created with the internal domain name.
So issue number 3 above has not come up.
For issue number one above I have created a new thread:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/7eb12b89-ae9b-46b2-bd34-e50cd52a4c15/microsoftwindowskerneleventtracing-error-2-happens-twice-at-boot-ex2013cu7?forum=exchangesvrdeploy
For issue number four I have posted to this existing thread where there is so far no resolution:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/2343730c-7303-4067-ae1a-b106cffc3583/exchange-error-id-74-connection-leak-detected-for-key?forum=exchangesvradmin
Issue number Five I have managed to recreate and get rid of in more than one way.
If I create a new database in ECP and set the database and log paths where I want, then this error will appear.
If I create the database in the default location and then use EMS to move it and set the log path, then the error will not appear.
The error will also appear (along with other errors) if I delete the health mailboxes and let them get recreated by restarting the server or the Health Manager service.
If I then go and set the retention period for deleted mailboxes to 0 days and wait a little while, these will all go away.
So my off hand guess is that these are caused by orphaned system mailboxes.
For issue number six I have posted to this existing thread where there is so far no resolution:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/dff62411-fad8-4d0c-9bdb-037374644845/event-1033-msexchangeactivesync-warning?forum=exchangesvrmobility
So for the remainder of this thread we can try and tackle issue number two which is the perf counters.
The exact same 5 perf counter were coming up and this had been true each time I have uninstalled and reinstalled Exchange 2013CU7.
Actually to be more accurate a LOT of perf counter errors come up after the initial install, but reloading the perf counters using the script I posted above reduces it to the same five.
Using all of your suggestions so far has not removed these 5 remaining errors either.  Since there is no discernible impact other than these errors at boot I am not seriously bothered by them but as will all event log errors, I would prefer
to make them go away if possible.

And what is the DIfference between DEV and PROD Web Profiles??
    Thanks,

I don't know why you get this error, but you could read some docs about this parameter :
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs91/wlsmbeanref/core/index.html
Maybe due to some specific install and env, do you have Performance monitoring ?
What's the consequence for the frontend user ?
Is it also in dev environment ? Did you try to apply latest patch of WL9.2 ?
If you have no clue, then you may want to open a SR to the support.
Lastly, for DEV and PROD webprofile, that should not make any difference for your error, please see the link below for a short description :
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13292_01/pt849pbr0/eng/psbooks/tprt/book.htm?File=tprt/htm/tprt18.htm#d0e31171

  • Oracle errors in alert.log

    Hello guys,
I have the following Oracle Release 10.2.0.1.0 server configuration:
    - Windows 2003 Server SP2
    - 3,25 GB RAM (I think that is a 4 GB but this is a windows 2003 standard edition)
    - 2 Intel Xeon Quad core
    - 3 disk partitions (C -> 40GB, 25 GB free / E -> 100 GB 85 GB free / F 300 GB -> 270 GB free)
    The PRISM instance configuration is:

    Actual PGA Size: 40 MB
    Services running (OracleDBConsolePRISM, OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener, OracleServeicePRISM)
The problem is that there are just 5 users that use this database, but there are a lot of errors in the alert.log that makes the database not available, the error messages are like this:

    Hello guys,
Thanks for the tips, after checking the tablespaces the results are:
    SQL> select tablespace_name,status from dba_tablespaces;
    TABLESPACE_NAME                STATUS
    SYSTEM                         ONLINE
    UNDOTBS1                       ONLINE
    SYSAUX                         ONLINE
    TEMP                           ONLINE
    USERS                          ONLINE
    PRISM                          ONLINEThe datafiles:
    SQL> select file#,name,status,enabled from v$datafile;
    FILE#         NAME                                        STATUS  ENABLED
             1     E:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\PRISM\SYSTEM01.DBF          SYSTEM  READ WRITE
             2     E:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\PRISM\UNDOTBS01.DBF          ONLINE  READ WRITE
             3     E:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\PRISM\SYSAUX01.DBF          *RECOVER* READ WRITE
             4     E:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\PRISM\USERS01.DBF          ONLINE  READ WRITE
5     F:\ORACLE\PRISM\PRISM.ORA                         ONLINE  READ WRITESo, following the metalink guide:
SQL> recover datafile 'E:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\PRISM\SYSAUX01.DBF';  -->Here the system ask for the log file, I select AUTO
SQL> alter database datafile 'E:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ORADATA\PRISM\SYSAUX01.DBF' online; Now the datafiles are all ONLINE, I will wait some time to check the database behavior after this change and back with the results and correct answer, best regards.

  • Error in CDS.log

    Hi Nakisa experts,
The CDS.log shows a lot of errors similar to the one shown below, when I navigate through the Org Structure in Nakisa.
Does anyone know where the problem could be?
    24/11/2009 11:39:     ERROR: CommandProcessor.getDataSet : select HierarchyID,CountValue,CountName,ElementID,CountFieldName from CountsTable where (HierarchyID=Upper('10007236')) and (ElementID=Upper('10007236')) and (HierarchyName=Upper('OrgUnitHierarchy')) and (CountName=Upper('IndirectCount_ChiefPosition'))|DC=CountConnection : Source {System.Data}: Message {The ConnectionString property has not been initialized.}
    Thanks,
    Vibhu

    Hi Vibhu,
That is a database connection issue. Does other data from the database display correctly? If not then Do an IIS reset or test your database connection. If it does then you probably need to enter the database details in the Analytics section in the Configure Staging section of the Admin Console.
    I hope that helps.
    Luke

  • Errors in Kernel logs on my RV120W

Hello, after succesfully update to version 1.0.5.6, I have errors in my log.
I made a factory reset after update and manualy set everything.
I have cable internet connection, DHCP server in Cisco, use wifi and I have a few firewall and forwarding rules.
I tried to uncheck all in Firewall settings on Attack prevention and after restart is everything the same.
There are a lot the same logs and there are no free memory for next records.
Everything I set in my log setting is Kernel Errors logging - there is only one way to log dropped or allowed connections.
    My log is here:

    Dear Jan,
Thank you for reaching the Small Business Support Community.
    I would think is a memory failure but anyway, and since you have already done the possible troubleshooting and there are no known issues about this, I suggest you to contact the Small Business Support Center to figure this out;
    https://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html
Please do not hesitate to reach me back if there is any further assistance I may help you with in the meantime.
    Kind regards,

  • DG Observer triggering SIGSEGV Address not mapped to object errors in alert log

    Hi,
I've got a Data Guard configuration using two 11.2.0.3 single instance databases.  The configuration has been configured for automatic failover and I have an observer running on a separate box.
This fast-start failover configuration has been in place for about a month and in the last week, numerous SEGSEGV (address not mapped to object) errors are reported in the alert log.  This is happening quite frequently (every 4/5 minutes or so).
The corresponding trace files show the process triggering the error coming from the observer.
Has anyone experienced this problem?  I'm at my wits end trying to figure out how to fix the configuration to eliminate this error.
I must also note that even though this error is occurring a lot, it doesn't seem to be affecting any of the database functionality.
    Help?
    Thanks in advance.
    Beth

Hi..   The following is the alert log message, the traced file generated, and the current values of the data guard configuration.  In addition, as part of my research, I attempted to apply patch 12615660 which did not take care of the issue.  I also set the inbound_connection_timeout parameter to 0 and that didn't help either.  I'm still researching but any pointer in the right direction is very much appreciated.
