Lots of XYZ Points

Hello,
I have about 100,000 "XYZ" points I'd like to load into a simple Java3D application.
Here's some sample data:
LONGITUDE, LATITUDE,HEIGHT
382656.74, 3097890.30, 6.72
382656.76, 3097890.22, 6.70
382656.79, 3097890.13, 6.70
I'm new to Jave3D and I'd appreciate some advise on how to load a point with such a large X, and Z value. The test app I'm using does not even show the points when I load them, I guess because they are outside the bounds, or something. I can't even zoom way out to see the points.

uhm...are you just incredibly lazy or are you a bit stupid?
1) if your lat/long coords are defining a perfect grid, forget about those numbers and just substitute your own, i.e., start at -10, -10 (or whatever) and en up at 10, 10
2) else if the lat/long coords are distributed somewhat randomly, you're going to have to order them, then (here comes the difficult part) divide the big numbers by another big number (say, 100000) to get little numbers.
else if the above does not make sense, maybe your strengths lie on the "user" side more than on the "developer" side.
Finally, I'm not being rude, I'm being harsh. This is such a simple problem to solve, and as a programmer you're going to have to solve problems far, far more complex than this. If you require hand-holding and spoon-feeding with even the simplest of problems, you may want to re-evaluate your future, for your own sake.
PS. Ignore the last two paragraphs if you're under 12 years old.

Multiple result recording for Manual inspection Lot using inspection point

I want to record inspection result for inspection type 89 against *inspection point*. Then I create new inspection point and assign it in quality plan. Then I have done the multiple result recoding against one manual inspection lot in DEV server. But when it is going to QAS server then error is coming during result recoding. Error is "The results transaction cannot be used for
inspection" Message no. QE094.
Plz give me the solution to record the result.

Reason is very simple : the the inspection point definition in the task list header is incompatible with the sampling procedure assigned to the characteristic.Make sure that you select the appropriete radio button in QDV1 while creating sampling procedure and assign the same against each of the MIC's in the task list.
Make sure that the sample tab in QA02 is pressed while assigning the inspection specification & status of the lot is REL

I am getting a lot of exclamation points in my iPhoto

I am getting all of my photos to show up as thumbnails but then as exclamation points once I try to click on them, rendering them usless?! I tried "reparing" files but that did not work. I refuse to believe that one of the only things that people keep from one comp to another (photos and music) is actually not working. Please somebody tell me it isn't so because I love the mac I bought yesterday but this is really frustrating me ... to say the least. Help!

if I understand you correctly, you moved your iPhoto library from one mac to another?
How did you migrate your iPhoto library?
Is your user account name the same as your previous name on the other mac?
Is the hard drive on your new mac called the same as on your old mac?
And where on your old mac did you keep the iPhoto library? In your "Pictures" folder or in a "Shared" folder?
I tried "reparing" files but that did not work.
What kind of "repairing" did you try? repair permissions?
The problem with the exclamation marks can be caused by several things:
You might have permission problems after migrating the library - if you are not the owner of the photos in the library you may not be allowed to access them.
iPhoto may not be able to find the the original photo files, if the access path is now different (different name of harddrive, different user account name)
You may have transferred the iPhoto library to your new mac, but not the original image files. This can happen, if you accidentally imported your iPhoto images with the option "copy items into the iPhoto Library" disabled. Then you need to transfer the original image files as well, and put them into the exactly same location as on your old mac.
Or if you are shooting raw, you may have a problem with missing raw support.
So, to be able to help, we will need to know more about your iPhoto library and how you migrated. Did you use Time Machine?

Lots of exclamation points

I recently updated iTunes to 7.6. On my user name my iTunes works fine. My wifes iTunes shows all exclamation points. I figured out how to tell iTunes where each file was but it got monotonous. How do get her music back without finding each file one by one? Thanks for your time.

Her library ITL file got corrupted somehow.

If she doesn't have a backup, you could
1) drag yours over into her user folder.
2) Or she can create a new library by holding down the shift key when she starts iTUnes. Then File > Add Folder to Library and import all the music files that way.
Both methods will lose all her ratings, playcounts, etc.

Help. Had to move iTunes Library...lots of exclamation points

I keep my iTunes library on an external HD. I had to switch to a new external, I copied the whole iTunes Music folder to the new one, went to preferences>advanced and pointed iTunes at the new library. I tried to play a song, or sync my iPod and iTunes says it can't find any of the songs. I really do not want to manually point iTunes to each song in my library. They are all there, iTunes just doesn't find them. They were and remain organized by iTunes.
How do I fix this? Thanks.

Yeah, it's different in iTunes 9.
It's now *Organize Library*.
I never deleted it from the old location, so it is still there. I opened iTunes holding Option and pointed it to the old location.
You indicated you moved the \iTunes music\ folder, not the \iTunes\ folder.
Holding Option is for when you have moved or created a new \iTunes\ folder.
You can move the entire \Music\iTunes\ folder to the external then hold Option and select Choose library and select the *iTunes library file* (not the .xml) in the \iTunes\ folder you moved.

Inspection lot per HU instead of batch in inter company stock transfers

We are testing intercompany stock transfers and we face the following problem when we check inspection lots created at the receiving plant: one inspection lot is created for each HU, while we want one per batch.
We multiplied tests with many combination on material settings on inspection type 01 (which is inspection type used on inspection lot):
u2022     with or w/o u201CInsp. for HUu201D
u2022     u201CControl inspLotu201D: blank, 1, 2 or X
without success!
Letu2019s me precise that inbound delivery is created automatically from goods issue at issuing plant because we activated SPED functionality (then Hus numbers are directly taken from outbound delivery to inbound delivery).
Also we noticed something that could help understand the problem:
1.     when issuing plant picks HUs into the warehouse, they confirm TO via RF transaction (LM61). As a result, outbound delivery as a main item and there is a split by several sub items, as many as HUs confirmed
2.     when we test the picking confirmation out of a non RF transaction (LT12), there is a main item but only sub items per batch (qty is then aggregated)
What is maybe interesting to notice is in the first case, inspection lot at receiving plant is created per HU while in the second case, it is created per batch!
Second behavior is what we require but RF pick confirmation is mandatory for us!
Is there any chance to change QM behavior in that case?

thanks for your replay. It is very helpful.
Option A
1) The finish goods would be are already release and that does not go with our Q-policy.
2) Does this mean, I have an inspection lot at the point of time of GR from production to warehouse and another inspection lot at the time of delivery. That would mean I double my work? And the time of delivery happens one day after GR from production but the Q-results still need some more days. I do not see how this should work.

1) What do you mean by multiple GR to the warehouse storage location?
Where do I have to activate the copying option for the inspection lot?
Here I see the problem still existing. The result of the MIC has not been found out yet, the UD can not be done and I do multiple goods movement to the warehouse. What is the lelp? If I could make several stock transfer from the q-stock within the inspection lot that would be the best.
May I am thinking wrongly but the best would be to keep the stock in the q-stock. Does a suitable BAPI exist where I could program a logic to it or what do you think?

Need to play Power Point Presentation with Audio in Keynote

My wife and I have lots of Power Point slide shows with audio from the days when we were windows users. We have downloaded a trial version of iWork 09 and would like to know how we can play these .pps files that contain audio in Keynote.
We appreciate any help that anyone could provide as we would much prefer to use Keynote/iWork than MS Office.

That's interesting about NeoOffice. I keep a copy of it up to date but don't use it too often.
This may be too involved for the OP but I would play the file in NeoOffice and record the audio with WIreTap or similar, export it as an MP3 file and then import it into Keynote.
WIreTap can have its input source set to Mac Audio so that it will record from any application that is capable of producing sound.

In the material master record for the finished product, you must set the indicator for quality inspection in the Quality Management view. Moreover, in the QM inspection data, you must also select and activate an inspection type with the origin 13 (repetitive manufacturing).
The SAP standard inspection type is 13.
You must select a repetitive manufacturing profile in the material master record of the finished product.
You must create a production version and a product cost collector.
In the routing for the finished product, you must maintain characteristics for the operation for which inspection results are to be created. (Starting from the operation overview, choose Goto--> Characteristics overview.)
You can also use the control key to flag operations in the routing as milestone operations. In this case, the repetitive manufacturing profile must also allow reporting point backflushing. You must also maintain characteristics for these operations.

Best way to stream lots of data to file and post process it

I am trying to do something that seems like it should be quite simple but am having some difficulty figuring out how to do it. I am running a test that has over 100 channels of mixed sensor data. The test will run for several days or longer at a time and I need to log/stream data at about 4Hz while the test is running. The data I need to log is a mixture of different data types that include a time stamp, several integer values (both 32 and 64 bit), and a lot of floating point values. I would like to write the data to file in a very compressed format because the test is scheduled to run for over a year (stopping every few days) and the data files can get quite large. I currently have a solution that simply bundles all the date into a cluster then writes/streams the cluster to a binary file as the test runs. This approach works fine but involves some post processing to convert the data into a format, typically a text file, that can be worked with in programs like Excel or DIAdem. After the files are converted into a text file they are, no surprise, a lot larger than (about 3 times) the original binary file size.
I am considering several options to improve my current process. The first option is writing the data directly to a tdms file which would allow me to quicly import the data into DIAdem (or Excel with a plugin) for processing/visualization. The challenge I am having (note, this is my first experience working with tdms files and I have a lot to learn) is that I can not find a simple way to write/stream all the different data types into one tdms file and keep each scan of data (containing different data types) tied to one time stamp. Each time I write data to file, I would like the write to contain a time stamp in column 1, integer values in columns 2 through 5, and floating point values in the remaining columns (about 90 of them). Yes, I know there are no columns in binary files but this is how I would like the data to appear when I import it into DIAdem or Excel.
The other option I am considering is just writing a custom data plugin for DIAdem that would allow me to import the binary files that I am currently creating directly into DIAdem. If someone could provide me with some suggestions as to what option would be the best I would appreciate it. Or, if there is a better option that I have not mentioned feel free to recommend it. Here is a simple example, of course here I only create one value per iteration in the while loop for simplicity. You can also set properties of the file which can be useful, and set up different channels.
Beside, you can use multiple groups to have more flexibility in data storage. You can think of channels like columns, and groups as sheets in Excel, so you see this way your data when you import the tdms file into Excel.
I hope it helps, of course there are much more advanced features with TDMS files, read the help docs!

3D surface plots with intensity value to overlay at each point?

i have a data set with XYZ points and an 8 bit intensity value (0-255) which i would like to overlay on the 3D plot. Is this possible with the 3D surface graph in LabVIEW?

You have an interesting question. There is no built in functionality for plotting a "4d" plot on LabVIEW's 3d plot. You can make the existing tools work though. What you need to do is create 256 plots on a 3d parametric plot. Each plot will show just one color and each has been modified to show just the data points. Provided you have enough data, you can make a surface appear solid. Please see the attached VI.

Quantity based Inspection points

In the master recipe,i assigned inspection points (Insp. Points 150 Generated insp. point, quantity or time) and characteristics also assigned in that operation(for QM control key QM02). My requirement is each 50kg i want a inspection lot but in the master recipe & process order operation details no such Quantity entering field is not there. How can i get this?...

Inspection point doesnt mean that you will get 5 inspection lots. Inspection point means you will get option for entering results 5 times through points. you can get the points through QA32> Result recording> Pop up> click on Assigned inspection point. You will get the list of inspection point> click on any one of them it will take you to result recording

T1000 Floating Point Arithemetic

I read somewhere that the T1000 does not scale java apps very well with muliple threads if those threads do a lot of floating point arithmetic. Can some one explain and provide a simple situation in java that would manifest this problem.
I am testing a multithreaded java app on the T1000 and it just does not scale. I need to try and identify why. The java app itself does not do any floating point arithmetic but maybe the library software it uses does.

Short version is that the T1000 only has one FPU to share amongst the 8 cores (and 32 threads). So, while the integer ops act like it's on a 8-32 core box, the fpu apps act like it's a single core (because it is, in that case)...
I've read some docs on the web that suggest the T1000 doesn't scale Java well in the default configuration. They had tweaks that needed to be done to the OS and resulted in massive speed increases. Unfortunately, I can't remember any details and don't have the links available :(

Phone application is using a lot of CPU

Hi everyone, I'm new here but I've been a blackberry user for several years with only a few minor issues.
Model: Curve 9300, provider- orange
This issue presented itself a week ago, seemingly unprompted by me. I didn't (intentionally) do a software update and I didn't download any new apps.
For the past week now, my blackberry's battery life has only been lasting about 6 hours at a time, maximum. Previously, it would go a full day or more without dying on me. I assumed this was just some rapid deterioration of the battery but when I did some googling today, I found that this is a common issue that a few people had in the summer of 2011. I have also noticed the little black timer appearing on the screen a lot at random points.
When I checked my CPU useage under the Application management section, it says my phone application has been in use for 16 hours of today, same for yesterday, however when I look back at the previous week, I see that I'd only used 20 hours in an entire week back when the phone's battery worked to a satisfactory level. I'm guessing this is what is draining my battery life and so buying a new battery won't resolve the issue. As I've been typing this, the phone useage has jumped up to 100% for no reason at all.
A few sources say to update my software but it says I have the newest version. (6.0 bundle 2534).
Sorry if I'm a little useless about this, I've never even knowingly updated the software before so I may take a little guiding through everything.

Is there a way to replace a Power Point slide in Captivate and keep the CC notes?

I have a lot of Power Point slides in my Captivate project. The Power Point presentation is on a Share Point, so it is impractical to "link" the Captivate project with the Power Point presentation. Now and then we need to make changes to the Power Point slides and then replace the old slide in Captivate with the new slide. We have a lot of CC notes and TTS attached to each slide, so I lose all of that when I replace the slide. Is there a way to keep the synchronized CC and TTS notes in place, and just replace the acutal slide?

1 - simplest way:
drag the sound file on to the audio well in the Inspector > document > document tab
music can only start on the first slide and will play untill the music ends, you can only have one music file in the presentation
2 - more control
drag the sound file on to any slide, add the images on to the same slide and use Builds to reveal each image in turn
