LOV in portlet

Hi
I created a dynamic LOV and a MDFORM that my MDFORM is "published as a portlet" and one item type in this form is "POPUP" and its validation option is LOV and run successfully when I put this in portlet and click in my LOV appeare "HTTP404 ERROR (Remove page)" message

Hi,
Did you check if your lov still exists or has been removed or is invalid? This does not seem to be happening in my portal.
What is your portal version?
Thanks,
Sharmila

  • Dynamic LOV on portlet

    I have a dynamic LOV as the only item in a portlet. The page is a 2 column layout with 2 tabs. When I click on the second tab I get 'There is currently no HTML content' message where the LOV should appear. Why?

    Hi, I'm using Discoverer portlet on my Portal. As far as I know you need to map your form parameters to the page parameters and page parameters to Discoverer Portlet parameter. (Form > Page > Discoverer). There seems to be no direct way to pass parameters to Discoverer portlet.
    Can you explain how did you build Custom Form with dynamic LOV and use session variables. I tried but I was unable to do so.
    Please, provide steps to do the task. This would be of great help.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Accessing LOV from Portlet

    I have an LOV[ListOfValues] application which is installed in the Application Server and my Portal application running in my Portal Server.
    Is it possible to call that LOV file[any jsp page] as a Popup Window
    from the portlet window?

    Hi,
    This is the snippet of code I am using but I am still unable to access the image.
    <p class="portlet-font">Welcome, this is the <%= renderRequest.getPortletMode().toString() %> mode.</p>
    img src="<%=request.getContextPath()%>/portal/htdocs/images/documents.gif" border=0
    </P>
    Note. the <> brackets were removed from the above snippet in order to display it in this post.
    When I view the generated source in the portal the img src points to /portal/htdocs/images/documents.gif but the image is not displayed.
    Does anyone know why this is not working for me ?
    </br>
    Just to add to this post I have also tried
    renderResponse.encodeURL(renderRequest.getContextPath()+"/htdocs/images/documents.gif")
    which just returns a very long strong which still doesn't load the image.
    I am beginning to think that you cannot load images from a JSR 168 portlet.
    The sample JSR 168 portlet I have which also has images that failed to load.
    Does anyone have any thoughts on what I am doing wrong / missing.
    Thanks,

  • Parameter form using LOV based on SQL  to pass param to Discoverer portlet

    Hi all
    I have a design issue:-
    I want to create a parameter form in Oracle Portal to allow users to select the department using searchable LOV (like the torch that is there in various oracle products) and pass the selected parameter to the Oracle Discoverer worksheet portlet. The LOV values is required to come from a SQL query which in turn is dependent on User_name varia ble from the session.
    I am looking for any out of the box portlet which can be configured to achieve the same. Any help or pointers in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Puneet

    Hi,
    Please refer to the answer in this question Re: OC4J Memory question
    It is similar to your requirement.

  • Reports Portlet Parameter Form LOV Format

    Hi,
    I have created several LOV's that I want to use in the Reports Portlet Parameter Form for running Oracle Reports, but the format I am choosing when creating the LOV's is not showing correctly on the parameter form. I am picking 'Check Box' and 'Radio Group' for several of the LOV's, but they are still displaying as Dropdowns on the parameter for. Am I doing something wrong here, can the parameter form show check boxes and radio buttons?
    Thanks

    hello,
    i am afraid the answer to both questions is 'no'. i would suggest you create some HTML/JSP parameter forms for your reports. the parameter form editor of reports is very limited and for more complex requirements we suggest using other tools (or the JSP web source of reports, which is available from 9i onwards).
    thanks,
    ph.

  • How to create a page & portlet

    Hi
    I am new to Oracle portal. i am using Oracle 3.0.
    i am working on an application in portal. i have created n number of forms, reports, dynamic pages, menus, sub menus & lovs etc. currently i access my application in a raw manner. first login , then go to the navigator link then applications & click on menu.
    my menu is a single entry point to my application. how can i publish this. i.e what i want to do is the moment user logs in he should straight away get the menu view.
    I have read there is something by which we can create pages & publish them.
    Could someone tell me how to create a page where i can drop my components such as menu , forms & reports on to it & then create a complete portal.
    I can see a create page in my oracle portal but the moment i try to add a portlet in that page it gives me option for adding an appliction only what i want to add is the componenets(such as menus, forms etc) residing inside my application.
    what it gives me is 2 options 1 to edit & the other to navigate the application only, here i can see my components but cannot include them in my page.
    Kindly reply
    Regards
    Sushant

    You can create a page and add application components to it as portlets. The first step to do this is to go to the application and check the publish as portlet check box. Then go to each component that you want to publish and check the publish as portlet box. Once you do that, you create a page and click add portlet (in edit mode). This will give you the portlet repository. Your application should show up as a provider and each component that you checked will show up as a portlet.

  • How Do I get a portlets actual path using the PRC?

    Greetings,
    I have a .NET application and I want to use a config file(text)to set some variables in my load_page method. I plan on putting the config file in a directory relative to where the portlet lives, but I can not seem to get the string of the actual portlet host. This seems easy enough but I can't figure it out.
    I am using G6.
    Thanks In advance.
    Rich
    P.S. Please don't direct me to tags!

    .NET provides about a bajillion ways of doing this - try...
    (As Chris noted, you can try mappath)
    (or) Request.ApplicationPath
    (or) Request.PhysicalPath
    Keep in mind that if you start playing around with config files I would strongly suggest looking at web.config. It's made for this and also supports the idea of "inherited" properties such that a web.config at a higher level in the IIS directory system can set values you intend to share across all apps (EX: database connection information or whatever) - BUT - the nice thing is you can override those values at a lower level by simply placing the value in a web.config within your apps virtual directory (or you could do any number of other things with an app config).

    I suspect this is failing on an UPDATE to the tt_03_reppeers table on Oracle. I would guess the TT repagent has to temporarily use serializable isolation when updating this table. Do you have any other datastores with AWT cachegroups propagating into the same Oracle database? Or can you identify if some other process is preventing the repagent from using serializable isolation? If you google ORA-08177 there seem to be ways out there to narrow down what's causing the contention.

  • LOVs in Portal Custom Form

    I am trying to implement an LOV in a custom PL\SQL/HTML form (portlet). Has anyone had any success in doing this?

    David,
    Here is a sample that is standard PL/SQL and is not portal specific ... it does use the PL/SQL toolkit that is installed with Portal though....
    The first procedures creates a drop down LOV that pulls its options from the database. It is based on the SCOTT.EMP tables. Then the second procedure receives the choice and displays the result. You can use this and expand for your specific application.
    ==========================================
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE pass_empno
    IS
    CURSOR c_select
    IS
    SELECT empno, ename

    htp.htmlOpen;
    htp.headOpen;
    htp.title('Passing Information Using a Form Selectbox');

  • Using a LOV in an Update page for a QBE Report

    In my QBE Report-based portlet, I have set one of the fields to use a LOV.
    When I go into Customize for the portlet, that field uses the LOV, but when I click on the Update link for a row, the same field does NOT use the LOV.
    How do I make it use the LOV in the Update page?
    Thanks for any help!

  • How to define parameters in a FORM portlet

    Is there a way to define parameters in a form portlet? I am trying to create a form with the "OmniPortlet-Simple Parameter Form" functionality so that I can have dynamic LOVs instead of hard-coded ones.

    Are you trying to create this with a normal portal form?
    If that is the case then, it is not possible to have parameters in forms. (I mean, you will not be able to dynamically change the LOV).
    Thanx,
    Chetan.

  • How can I navigate to a specific tab from a portlet submit event?

    I have a page with two tabs on it. Each tab contains a region with two portlets, a simple parameter form and an OmniPortlet containing some PL/SQL code for a database query.
    The first tab is used to search by name - users enter a name, click the Submit button and the page parameter is passed to the database query. The Submit event is set up to "Go to page:" and passes the output of the parameter form back into the page when it is redisplayed.
    The second tab has been setup to search by department and has a simple parameter form containing a LOV for departments. However I can find no way to target the second tab in the Submit event for this parameter form.

    I think the unfortunate answer is to create your own Portlet(Java/PL/SQL) to do this. You can then specify the URL for the submit. This will then allow you to set the page parameters that the event is doing for you.
    Another option, don't use tabs. Just create seperate pages with a JavaScript / HTML banner that would mimic the TAB functionality.
    I am a bit disappointed that this does not work out of the box. But, regardless, I will be needing dynamic parameters anyways as static just does not cut it.

  • Display PDF File in portlet!!

    Hello
    I need to do almost the same thing that David but my users will upload pdf files and I need to display the file inside the portlet folder when they click the name of the item I don't want this item to be display in the whole browser. Please tell me how can I do that.
    Thanks in advance
    Ana Maria

    You can solve this by using an iFrame.
    The Definition of the iFrame can be made in an HTML Portlet or create it in a Dynamic Page (prefered).
    By giving the iFrame the name "_blank" every item that opens in a new page, the presentation will be shown in the iFrame Portlet, together with the default Acrobat Reader buttons.
    This works best in IE5.5.
    HTML Portlet:
    <iframe src = "http://otn.oracle.com"
    name = "_blank"
    width = "100%"
    height = "600"
    frameborder = "0"
    scrolling = "auto"
    marginwidth = "0"
    marginheight= "0">
    sorry, your browser doesn't support iFrames
    <ilayer src ="http://otn.oracle.com"
    id ="_blank"
    >
    </ilayer>
    </iframe>
    Dynamic Page source:
    <HTML>
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>iFrame</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <ORACLE>
    declare
    l_src varchar(50);
    l_name varchar(10);
    l_border number;
    l_width varchar(5);
    l_height varchar(5);
    l_scrolling varchar(5);
    l_marginwidth number;
    l_marginheight number;
    begin
    select :source into l_src from dual;
    select :name into l_name from dual;
    select :border into l_border from dual;
    select :width into l_width from dual;
    select :height into l_height from dual;
    select :scrolling into l_scrolling from dual;
    select :marginwidth into l_marginwidth from dual;
    select :marginheight into l_marginheight from dual;
    htp.p('<iFrame src = "http://'|| l_src ||'"');
    htp.p('name = "'|| l_name ||'"');
    htp.p('frameborder = "'|| l_border ||'"');
    htp.p('width = "'|| l_width ||'"');
    htp.p('height = "'|| l_height ||'"');
    htp.p('scrolling = "'|| l_scrolling ||'"');
    htp.p('marginwidth = "'|| l_marginwidth ||'"');
    htp.p('marginheight = "'|| l_marginheight ||'">');
    htp.p('sorry, your browser does not support iFrames');
    htp.p('<ilayer');
    htp.p('src = "'|| l_src ||'"');
    htp.p('name = "'|| l_name ||'">');
    htp.p(' </ilayer>');
    htp.p('</iframe>');
    end;
    </ORACLE>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    Giving the bind variables LOV's will complete this to a nice new component!
    Good luck!
    Kind regards, Frank

  • Passing parameter between portlets

    I have a page with 2 rows and the first row contains a portlet (form) which has just one field (dept_id) with lov attached to it. When a dept id is selected from the lov I need to retrieve the corresponding employee details in the portlet which is a form placed in the second row of the page.
    Following is the procedure I'm using it to set the selected dept id in the session object and this is being called from the onchange event of the dept_id field of first form.
    PROCEDURE p_select_new_dept (p_session in out portal30.wwa_api_module_session)
    IS
    v_dept_id DEPT.DEPT_ID%TYPE;
    v_Session portal30.wwsto_api_session;
    BEGIN
    v_dept_id := p_session.get_value_as_number(p_block_name=>'DEFAULT',
                             p_attribute_name=>'A_DEPT_ID');
    v_Session := portal30.wwsto_api_session.load_session('CONTEXT', 'SESS_DEPT');
    v_Session.set_attribute('DEPTID', v_dept_id);
    v_Session.save_session;
    END;
    and following is the code I have it in the ..before displaying page...section of the additional pl/sql tab
    of the Employee Details form (which is placed in the second row of the page as portlet)
    Declare
    v_RowID VARCHAR2(100);
    v_Session portal30.wwsto_api_session;
    v_dept_id DEPT.DEPT_ID%TYPE;
    BEGIN
    v_Session := portal30.wwsto_api_session.load_session('CONTEXT', 'SESS_DEPT');
    v_dept_id := v_Session.get_attribute_as_number('DEPTID');
    BEGIN
         SELECT rowidtochar(rowid)
         INTO v_rowid
         FROM DEPT
         WHERE DEPT_ID = v_dept_id;
    END;
    p_session.set_value (p_block_name=> 'DEFAULT', p_attribute_name=> '_ROWID'
                   ,p_value=> v_rowid);
    p_session.set_value (p_block_name=>'DEFAULT', p_attribute_name=>'_CALLED_FROM_LINK'
                   ,p_value=>'ROWID');
    PORTAL30.wwa_api_module_event.do_event('DEFAULT', 'QUERY_TOP', 1, 'ON_CLICK', True, '', p_session);
    p_session.save_session;
    END;
    When I run the page and selected the dept_id from the first portlet the employee details are retrieved for the previously selected dept_id and not for the currently selected dept_id.
    For eg., if I select 10 it is not retrieving any details for this dept_id and if select 20 then it retrieves the employee details for 10(previusly selected dept_id)..and so on..
    Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?.
    Thanks

  • Looking for ideas for a: Photo Gallery portlet

    Hey all,
    I'm wondering if anyone out there uses any special code or 3rd party apps, or anything to fancy-up a portlet to display photos?
    For the last few hours I've been working to integrate CoolIris (http://www.cooliris.com) with a Publisher portlet but have run into a snag that I'm having some difficulty debugging. But rather than spinning my wheels on this one solution, I figured I'd reach out to all of you to see how you display event/holiday/etc types of pictures within your portals.
    Ideally I'd love for our users to be able to submit images directly through a Publisher portlet and create something more flashy than just a static image that they have to scroll through.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!
    Geoff

    I'm looking for the same functionality.
    What I'm thinking of doing is to use a document library component for users to upload and manage images. Then use Content Presenter to display the images.
    Problems:
    - Content Presenter doesn't do folders well.
    - default templates don't show images
    - icon view only shows an icon representing the type of content
    Another option is to use the wiki as at http://wiki.oracle.com/photos/albums . Don't know if that can be done yet but cuold be easier for users.
