LOV on user defined input values

Hi
I have created an element and created an input value of Description.This input value 'Description' will contain 2 or 3 criterias like 10% Basic,20%Basic and 30% Basic. To Reduce data entry and minimize spelling mistake i was looking to put this description in lov so that user can select from list instead of typing each time.
How can this be done.
Regards

read the online help of the element type screen. It tells you how to use an application lookup, or a value set to populate the LOV.

  • User defined field values doesnot show up in summary tab

    Hi,
    I have created my own stylesheet to display some of my user defined field values (associated with organization address book entry type) in the summary tab of the addressbook entry. But Groupwise 8.0 client FAILS to display any of the user defined field values in the summary tab FOR ONLY ORGANIZATION ADDRESSBOOK ENTRY types. NOTE: These organization addressbook entries are created using the C++ Groupwise object API. But the Advanced tab of these organization addressbook entry shows those user defined fields with values in it.
    Also Groupwise 8.0 Client is able to display the user defined field values in the summary tab for the PERSON ADDRESSBOOK ENTRY types, that are created using the Groupwise Object API. Also when I create a Organization addressbook entry using the Groupwise Client (NEW ORGANIZATION) and fill in the user defined field values using the Advanced tab or that addressbook entry, the summary tab displays those user defined field values.
    So there could be some problem in setting the user defined field value for the Organization address book entry using the Object API or it could be Groupwise 8.0 Client issue in displaying the user defined field values ONLY FOR ORGANIZATION ADDRESS BOOK ENTRY, WHICH ARE CREATED USING THE OBJECT API. I also tried to see the underlying XML data in the summary tab and that XML data is missing the USERDEFINEDFIELDS and CATEGORIES tag for the organization address book entry.
    I would like to know, if there is any need for special handling only for Organization addressbook entry in Groupwise 8.0 API. Any thoughts or help is really appreciated.

    Hi,
    Does anyone have an idea?? Think I have the same issue. Except, when I log in the client (ver. 802) then all the info is displayed. But when the user logs in on the same client and the same pc, he sees the xml info except the office address.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Web Logic Optimize the User-defined typed values

    I'm using Together Soft 6.0.1 and Web Logic 7.0 as apps. server. I'm writing
    the web service using the user defined type as input parameter and return status.
    I'm experience the following probem
    1. On the web service, the return status is an array user-defined data type.
    Some of the data has the same values.
    2. When I looked at the SOAP/XML message as the returned status, the fields/tags
    that have the same data got mapped to a href=#ID_x and on the bottom of the SOAP/XML
    message the ID_x is mapped to the correct data value.
    3. However, when the SOAP/XML message is mapped to the client's object, the data
    did not get mapped correctly to the object's attribute. The attributes, that
    got mapped to href=#ID_x, are set to empty value.
    I wrote the serialize/deserialize code for the User-Defined type, and that works
    ok. However, when I return an array of User-Defined type, and only have the serialize/deserialize
    code for the User-Defined type but no code for the array, it throws an exception
    (Array out of bound).
    It looks like Weblogic creates a reference table appended to the message with
    duplicate values indexed. Is it some kind of performance option you can turn
    off?
    Or is there some interface to retrieve the references?
    Or is there a work around or a fix to this problem?
    Or do I have to write the serialize/deserialize codes for the user-defined type
    and array of user-defined type?

    Scott,
    Thanks for your response.
    So you're saying the href "optimization" is a feature of soap encoding. Is it
    the Web Logic implementation of soap encoding optimize the values?
    If we write xxxCodec.java for the array of user-defined type, will it work?
    If it does, could you send me sample code? The example in the document is for
    a single class. The array seems to be more complicated.
    Thanks for your help,

  • Missing user variable input values in export to excel functionality

    Hi,
    I have a problem in exporting data into excel, I could able to export the data with complete result rows but i am not able to see the user input variable values.
    To be in detail: The moment i execute the report in web, user gives the initial variable values as selections and run a report. The data will be displayes as per the user selections. Then the user clicks on export to excel (designed as per SAP how to), now the excel data shows the body of the results but the initial input variable values are missing.
    It would be really good if we also export variable values along with the report output.
    If any of you solved this requirement, could you please help me in solving this.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

    Hi,
    Here is a solution to make visible the Values of variables you selected in the Excel File.....
    1.Create a Web Template with an Analysis Item and Info Field Item
    2.Assign the Data Provider which contains varaibles to the Analysis Item
    3.Assign the same Data Provider to an Info Field Item
    4.In the Properties of Info Field Item,
    Set the Visibility as "Visible"
    Data Binding as "Variable Value" and mention the varaible
    Save the Web template->Execute and Export to Excel
    Now you will get it in Excel file

  • Label report with user defined input -

    I am trying to make a report that will print out the data onto avery labels 5163(which is 2 across u2013 5down =total 10 labels per sheet) with my information.  The program already sets your boundaries for the labels so thatu2019s not a issue.
    My current select statement works somewhat : if I enter 1 inventory.itemnum and whatever qty I want it prints fine.  However when I enter multiple inventory.itemnums it prints each one of those itemnums at whatever qty I enter in the second parameter. So say I enter 2 itemnums and enter qty 2 to print- I get 2 labels of each item num.  Currently I this format I have the second parameter set to NOT allow multiple fields u2013 however when I change this to allow my report fails u2013 please see my info and layout stuff below
    Here is what I have:
    INVENTORY.ITEMNUM} = {?Control Id:} and
    {Sheet1_.Column1} <= {?number of labels}
    Inventory.itemnum u2013field from database
    {?Control Id:}---parameter 1
    {?number of labels}---parameter 2
    {Sheet1_.Column1}----excel table brought in as secondary database to serve as count feature for report u2013 currently set at 20 but can change from 20 to 10 or higher- whatever qty I want.  The most labels I will need for any 1 item is 24 u2013 but I can print 2 sheets of 10 then 1 of 4 if we reduce it to qty 10 in the table.
    I have 2 parameters that prompt for data
    Parameter 1: it prompts for .itemnum (I have this parameter set to allow multiple inputs of inventory.itemnum)
    Parameter 2: it prompts for qty of labels needed. currently not set to allow multiple numbers as I get a failure when I change my parameter to this.
    As my info above sits I can enter 1 random inventory.itemnum (parameter 1) and  a qty (parameter 2)(1-20 u2013 which is set by a table I built in excel 1-20 u2013 above which is sheet1_.column1)
    What I want to be able to do is
    1.     (Parameter 1 here)Enter inventory.itemnums from random  qtyu2019s of 1-10 at any given input time from user prompt in parameter
    2.     (parameter 2 here)Print label of qtys ranging from 1 label per each item to as many as 10 labels per item
    a.     For example: I enter
    b.     Parameter 1:
    c.     Xitem1.itemnum
    d.     Xitem2.itemnum
    e.     Xitem3.itemnum
    f.     Parameter 2:
    g.     Qty 1- is the amount of labels needed for xitem1(from parameter 1)
    h.     Qty 3- is the amount of labels needed for xitem2(u201C u201D)
    i.     Qty 6- is the amount of labels needed for xitem3(u201C u201C)
    3.     I need the qtys in parameter 2(labels to print) to work with the inventory.itemnums as they are entered in parameter 1.
    I have tried using arrays but they force me to use the same amount of data that I have clauses. Which does not work because I have varying amounts of labels needed at different time-If I have  2 labels and have more clauses than this the report fails. I will not always have 2 or 3 labels to make maybe more maybe less.
    Here is a example of what I was trying with arrays:
    {field.xitem}=(?item.num)[1] and
    {?qty}[1]>={numbertable.number})or
    {field.xitem}=(?item.num)[2] and
    {?qty}[2]>={numbertable.number})or  etc.,etcu2026u2026
    This would force me to input as many item.itemnums and qty labels as there are arrays or the report would fail.

    Cause
    The Error 'FRM-41051: You cannot create records here' arises because there are existing element entries for this element.
    An input value cannot be added to an element if element entries exist for that element or input
    value date is greater than the start date of the element.

    Note 269070.1
    Title: Cannot Create A User Defined Input Value For A State
    Retirement Plan Deduction Element
    Symptoms
    In the element description form you cannot add new input values for a deduction element. You get
    this error when creating new input value:
    FRM-41051 You cannot create records here
    The deduction element is a newly created element.
    Cause
    When adding the input values Datetrack date was not proper.
    Fix
    Make sure there are no element entries existing for the element.
    Make sure to date track to the date when the element was created.
    Solution
    Because the application looks at three conditions before it will allow you to add an input value
    to an element, if one of those conditions are met it will not allow you to create the element entry.
    In your case 2 are being met so the system will not allow you to create the element entry.
    1- element entries exist
    2- state date of the new input value is greater than the element start date
    Conditions being looked at:
    element_entries_exist or
    no_of_input_values for the element is > 15 or
    :ctl_globals.session_date != element_start_date
    There is no workaround for scenario, you need to create a new element.
    결과적으로 말씀드리면, 한번 입력된 Element에 대해서는
    아래의 두가지 속성을 모두 충족하지 않는 한,
    Input Value를 추가로 입력하실 수 없습니다.
    신규로 Element를 지정해주셔야 합니다.
    1. Make sure there are no element entries existing for the element.
    ==> 해당 Element에 대한 Element Entry가 없어야 합니다.
    2. Make sure to date track to the date when the element was created.
    ==> 신규 Input Value를 입력하려는 DateTrack날짜가 Element가 생성된 날짜와 같아야 합니다.

    Hi All,
    I want to add user defined field values in crystal  layout for Sales order, but its not listed in RDR1 tables there but it's available in SAP query manager view. How can i get that in Crystal reports. please suggest on this.

    You can then remove the key and the fields in the database will keep their correct definitions rather than varchar(max) which is causing the initial problems.
    Adding extra keys may uause performance issues if you leave them there for a large table.
    I have also had issues of varchar(max) fields causing database connection issues when running the reports in 8.81 PL07.

  • User-defined fields in cost calculation

    Hi, I'm working with process order in customer service process.
    I would like to make a cost precalculation based on a user-defined field.
    To let you know.
    I created a new user-defined field.
    I affected to it a new parameter ID so that this user-defined field value can be used in formulas.
    I created a new formula with my parameter ID.
    This is allowed for costs.
    Now in my work center I defined these data for costing
    price for pre calculation is defined for IN9020 and cost center.
    Now in my service order I fill the required field.
    I would have thought that according to formula, SAP would use this value (6 PC through the formula) to calculate costs.
    This is not the case.
    Did anybody already use this?
    Regards

    Dear Maniaba
    We have used user fields in task list to capture quantity in terms of nos & its weight for each operation. This we used as a work around to capture the repair jobs quantity & tonnage. While mapping repair of a particular machine with out any reference to material(that is we have not created them as serialised material as in the case of refurbishment) we have created task list for its repair and user wanted to capture the quantity of repair (say how many & also its weight) so we have maintained the tonnage per 1 no in these fields. later when order is being created user selects the task list & changes the quantity field then we have developed report where we calculate the total tonnage of that job & also no of items repaired.

  • Passing user defined parameters in oracle reports thru command line

    Hi All
    We are currently using Reports 6i with Oracle 10g 10.2.0.4.0
    I would like to know that is it possible to pass user defined parameters values while calling report from command line.
    For Example: I am using following coding to call report from command line.
    for /f "tokens=1-3 delims=/ " %%a in ('date /t mm/dd/yyyy -1') do (
    set mm=%%b
    set dd=%%a
    set yyyy=%%c)
    rwrun60 report=c:\reports\banks.rdf userid=express/test@test_rs2 destype=FILE desname=c:\reports\banks%dd%%mm%%yyyy%.pdf desformat=PDF BACKGROUND=NO BATCH=YES
    The report contains some user defined parameter which is using in where condition of reqport query.
    Select * from banks
    where id = :Bank_ID
    Now I want to Pass value for :Bank_Id from command line (like we pass parameter list while calling report with run_product), how it is possible?
    Thanks
    Hassan

    Hi guys
    Fortunately I am able to perform the required task as I just added the report parameter field as follows:
    rwrun60 report=c:\reports\banks.rdf userid=express/test@test_rs2 destype=FILE desname=c:\reports\banks%dd%%mm%%yyyy%%h%%mi%%ss%%ts%.pdf desformat=PDF BACKGROUND=NO BATCH=YES ERRFILE=c:\reports\error.log LOGFILE=c:\reports\joblog.log bank_id='MCB'
    bank_id is the report parameter using in where clause.

  • User-defined http header and com.oracle.httpclient.HttpRequestBuilder

    Hello,
    In Java ME Embedded 8, I would like to send a HTTP request containing a user-defined identifier in the http header (X- header type), using the com.oracle.httpclient package.
           HttpClient client = clientBuilder.build();
            HttpRequestBuilder requestBuilder = client.build(http://my_uri);
            requestBuilder.setHeader(HttpHeader.ACCEPT, "text/plain");
    Here, I would like to add a user-defined header value like :
          requestBuilder.setHeader("MyHeader", "myHeaderValue");
    It seems that there are only pre-defined values available for headers in the com.oracle.httpclient.HttpHeader class.
    Is there any way to add a user-defined header in the request ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Bruno

    Hi Bruno,
    did you try HttpHeader myHeader = new HttpHeader("MyHeader");?

  • Error in Inputting value in a table

    I am populating one of my table column with EVS  and we also have to give the functionality to user to input values free handedly but whenever user is putting value we are getting error
    The string "000000000007000000" is not in the quantity of allowed values
    But if the same value is coming from EVS it is accepted successfully.
    Any help will be rewarded points
    Thanks
    -Ashwani

    Hi,
    you can give a try by creating a nonvalidating action for this input onEnter
    add the newly entered value as part of the EVS.
    If the error is displayed even before a round trip then the above solution will not work and you have to live up with the framework error.

  • Setting an Edit pattern does not allow inputting values

    I'm using a custom field (Phone Number North America) in a designer form. My users want to be able to edit and display value in (999) 999-9999 format. So I set the Display and Edit formats to text{'('999')' 999-9999}. Setting this pattern only displays the value in this format, but when I go to edit the field for the first time (when the field is blank), it allows inputting without any format. And when I want to edit an inputted value in the field, it does not even allow to change anything. It seems to be readonly/locked.
    What I want to be able to do is that the field must allow the user to input values in the format that I set in the Edit pattern box. This must work even if the field has a phone number value already in it.
    Any help will be highly appreciated.
    FYI...My Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2 version is:  9.0.0.2.20101008.1.734229 Cipher: 128-bit.
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Mahabub,
    Keep the below script on exit event of the Phone Number dnt select any pattern for the field.
    // Regular Expression for the phone number (999) 999-9999
    var vPattern = /^(\(\d{3}\) \d{3}-\d{4})$/;
    if (vPattern.test(this.rawValue))
    app.alert("Matched");
    else
    app.alert("not matched")
    This gives you Error message if the entered value is not matched with the pattern.
    Please let me know if you need any more info.
