LR 6 doe not open on Mac, chat session does not work.

I originally installed LR5, stand alone. Then I went to the CC, with the LR/PS package. I just installed LR6 via CC, but it will not open. I get a flash of the title screen, but then it immediately closes. I have tried Chat, but it seems to sit and do nothing. I never get a chat session. 1) how do I get LR6 via CC to open? 2) It appears I have two copies of LR on my macbook will LR6 automatically find my LR5 photos?

FYI, I have tried logging out and then back in.

It didn't work properly. So I dropped the program in the bucket and emptied it. Then I wanted to download Indesign again, Ut that does not work. The download looks okee in the creative cloud window but in the folder programs it looks as if it is just not complete. What can I do to make it work again.

I have an Iphone 4 iOS 6.1.3 and have read that it is capable to receive the Weather Emergency Alert system. I have also been told that it will not. This is confusing. Can someone at Apple clarify. If it doe not work on this phone is a download available?

Apple usually doesn't participate here, we're just users. Have you done a search for an app for Weather Emergency Alert in the app store? It certainly doesn't come built-in in the iphone.

4320 projector wireless doe NOT work with Mac OS 10.10 (or 10.7 and higher)

Hello, we just purchased a 4320 projector with the wireless dongle. The 4320 manual states that wireless connection works for Macs with 10.5 and higher. We use 10.10 (Yosemite), and we have updated to the latest firmware and s/w. We are able to connect to the 4320 and start a presentation. However, in less than a minute, the projector drops the connection and we have to start all-over, rendering the projector useless for wireless operation. The local Dell (Greece) says it is an Apple problem. This is the classic problem where one company blames the other. Even if it is Apple's fault, which I doubt, Dell mentions that the product should be compatible with 10.5 and higher. If we knew it was not compatible, we would have purchased another brand projector. So, is there a solution to this problem?

There is not a scan driver for the 6100 for 10.6/10.7. The product was released in 2004, and reached end of life in 2008 (a year before 10.6 was released). Chances are that a driver will not be written for this product.
I don't have a 6110 here that I can test with, so all I can offer are steps that I would try given the opportunity.
One thing I noticed from your response on trying the 6210 driver was that the product (in the queue) was still showing as the 6110. I am curious as to how you went about installing using the 6210 driver. I can only think of two scenarios off the top of my head:
1) You had the 6110 installed, went to options and supplies, to the driver tab, and specified the new driver.
2) You had no products installed, and when you went to add, you specified the 6210 driver in the Print Using box prior to clicking add.
The option that is more likely to provide the scan option is option 2, so if you haven't tried it, I would encourage you to do so. If that doesn't work, try other Officejet All in one drivers, or consider upgrading if none of the above will get it to work.
I understand that the lack of a full feature driver is frustrating, but most (if not all) companies have dates in place to cut off development/support for their products. A similar scenario is the Netgear FA311 Network Interface Card. I remember using one of these cards back in 2000/2001, but if I wanted a windows vista 64-bit driver i'd be out of luck. I'd likely end up using a realtek driver (per a forum post suggestion) and see if it would work, and hope for the best.

Problems getting my open source mac Bosto tablet driver to work

It works really swetly with all but 2 applications:
Corel painter 12 and
Photoshop Cs5.1
I'm downloading a trial of CS6 as I write this but I imagine it will have the same problem.
I have the bosto tablet monitor and my wacom tablet both plugged into my system (driver conflicts don't exist on mac). I also pretty well understand all the HID events etc, needed to make the driver work.
I'm generating identical events to my wacom tablet, which is why I can't for the life of me figure out why i have problems with photoshop.
The problems are as follows:
Photoshop CS5.1
Holding the pen down and drawing does not draw a line, it will draw a dot, or a straight line from the point where the pen touched the tablet, to an approximation (looks like a mean) of the end point,
In photoshop, in the brush dynamic settings, I get the "pressure not supported" icon.
When my wacom pen generates an "enter" proximity event [that is, when I put it near the wacom tablet], the triangle dissapears,
When my bosto pen (for which I'm writing the driver) enters [that is, when I put it near the bosto screen], the triangle appears again.
These are my questions:
How on earth does wacom get photoshop to treat it as a pressure sensitive device?
Is photoshop listening to different events, or are there undocumented transactions going on which allow the wacom tablet to work, but cause my one to draw dots or straight lines?
Where can i go to for support on this issue? I'm an indie developer doing this as open source out totally for free to help others in the community use this wonderful monitor/tablet on their macs.
Does anyone here have any advice?

Thanks Chris, just knowing that photoshop isn't doing anything special is a great help; but do you know what kind of events it listens to? There are two types of event systems in cocoa. I'm using IOSHidEvents, and as far as I can tell from extensive debugging ALL of my NSEvents for enter, exit, mouse down, move, etc are IDENTICAL to the Wacom tablet's events (except for vendorId and other hardware specific ids).
I debugged them laboriously using wacom sample applications, which they make available to their developers.
So I will contact apple too; but seeing as that is lengthy and expensive (it will use one of my support calls to do), it'd be a tremendous help to be sure that you guys are not doing anything funky outside of listening to NSEvents for:
Proximity,
Mouse Down,
Mouse Up,
Mouse Move.
Seeing as certain versions of wacoms drivers and many other vendors drivers exhibt the same error I have described here (internet is littered with wacom and other tablet owners complaining about exactly the same issues); I'd imagine that the subject of my oversight must be familiar to someone in the photoshop engineering team, or in some driver engineering team somewhere. If you can't afford me any more information, do you think you can suggest other channels I might pursue to resolve this?

Augo Updater doe not work

How do I instruct Auto Updater to go ahead and do its job [update]?
I often get an alert saying
"A new version of the Updater is available for installation. Click OK to install it now. Note: You ay be required to authenticate in order to install"
I click on install, enter the pass, etc., and nothing happend. Finally, I get the following message:
"Updater failed to install"
How do I avoid that failure? If there are new updates, I want them installed on my new Mac.
Can anyone help me?

Your best option in this case is to download the update manually and install it (from [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com].

Titles and Transitions doe not work after upgrading to Snow Leopard

I can not get my Titles or transitions to work in iMovie any more after upgrading to Snow Leopard.
Everything goes to a black screen. I am having problems with final cut express also. Anyone have an idea when there will be a patch to fix this? I would hate to have to down grade.

Holy *&$^, no kidding. I mean this is bad. I can't really do anything on iMovie at all. I really hope there is a simple solution to this, b/c if this really is part of a bad release, Apple will not hear the end of it.

HT4623 after new up date Sarari doe not work...freezes ..can not print on my i Pad. My i Phone works great.

I just updated my i pad ios7 and safari freezes when I try to print web content. I noticed a lock icon in the address when I go to apple for help. Won't take my serial number on line when I try to get help. Phone lines not taking calls.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

I am trying to access http pages using the class URL, to get an InputStream from the class URLConnection after connect () (using getInputStream()).
But it doesn't work !!!
I have tested with "file" protocol and it works.
I have tested with "localhost" web server address and it works.
But with http://www.tnrelaciones.com/anexo/laprensa/ (a real URL) doesn't work !!!
I have a "proxy" for my internet access. But it is working from my web browser...

as many have already found out this huge drive is a bookend unless apple make a fix! Soon.

I have the same ethernet drive, and I was able to get it to work using the method outlined in this topic http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1199783&tstart=0. Note that you can only access the backed up files by browsing other time machine disks, but it works.
By the way, is your ethernet disk as horribly slow as mine is? I max out at about 10 megabytes per second on a good day resulting transfers being no faster than to my 100 megabit per sec connection to my iMac G4.

I have two .mac addresses; how does this work in iCloud?

This is not about consolidating Apple ID's... I think.
When I got my first .mac address, I thought I picked a good one at the time. Later on, due to the peculiar spelling, I opted for an additonal (paid) address which I use every day. Now the first one (which is an Apple ID) contains my calendars, contacts, etc. I never use the email portion of it, again because of challenging spelling. The second .mac address (also an Apple ID) is an email only account. This is the email account I use daily.
When I make the transition to iCloud, I intend to keep my original AppleID (from the pre-.mac days) as my iTunes store ID.
My question is, what happens with my two other accounts?
.mac #1 with the contacts and such would move to iCloud and sync everything there as it currently does with MobileMe. Since .mac #2 is an email only account, would I even need to bother moving it to iCloud (if that's even possible), or would I just keep using that as email only using the current mail settings on my iThingys and Mac? Does anyone know if .mac #2 will live on after MobileMe vanishes, or will I loose my daily and coveted .mac email at that time?
I'm sure Apple has a good reason for not allowing us to just consolidate everything in one place, but I know there are many out there with a similar situation to mine.
I've spent a good deal of time tonight searching the various threads and can't seem to find an answer to the two .mac email dilemma. My appologies if it's already been discussed.
To sum up, I have one Apple ID that I use for iTunes and intend to keep as such. I have two .mac addresses which are also Apple ID's; one that syncs with MobileMe and one that is email only. I would like to use iCloud to sync what is currently on MobileMe, AND continue to use the simpler email address that I've been using for years.
Am I screwed??

Migrate the account which contains your calendars, contacts etc. first, at http://me.com/move and set it up on your Mac and devices.

Now migrate the email-only account in the same way. On a Mac you can add it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars - it won't sync anything but will be added to the accounts in Mail where you can then use the email in the normal way.
I don't know what the equivalent process on an iOS device is; very likely you need to add it as an account in the Mail app.
