LR is so good at things but forgot some of the things Bridge...

I love LR for developing!
This is where your real talent shows.
Why would you not, at least offer the basic goodness of Bridge, by being to auto update a particular folder that is my DB?
Maybe that is excessive...
But surely it looks at my main folder and "auto" updates (imports) that folder.
Or at least provide the following....
Maybe a feature "Always Update This Folder" option in preferences??????
Your auto-update feature is weak at best. I cannot tell it what my main folder is for auto unless is it some third party doing my updates. In fact "I" find it near a useless feature.
Simply "Auto-Update" a folder I use for all my camera pictures.
Is that too complex?
Get with it guys. Try to use it in a real life situation and you will find yourself bogged down in "Adobe's work flow".
I would be more than interested in why software would not do what I am asking for.
I think LR's development features and GUI are beyond outstanding, but file management system becomes a new task that should not be necessary.
Wish list:
1. I create a "Folder" in any OS in my "primary" folder.
2. I open up "LR"
3. 3 to 10 seconds of processing tine ( on a good computer) occur looking at anything different, and I precede to develop in LR.
Life is good at this point!

If you use a single folder for ALL of your images, perhaps you need to look at
watched folders.
Take a look
here for more information.
Basically, you can import all of your images from your camera to a watched folder. In turn, the images will be moved to a specific folder (you choose) for storage. And this methodology would allow you to apply develop settings and metadata to the images.
It may be just what the Doctor ordered.
