Maaping import parameters to the client...
Hi All,
I am developing an application wherein I need to accept some inputs from the user. However, while creating the SyncBO I am not able to map the import parameters or the import parameters to the client. The only parameter which are enabled for mapping are the table parameter.
Can any tell me what is the problem?
Thanks,
Prakash
Hi Prakash!
(1) You may have to modify the the JSP Code(MI Application WAR File)to get rid of the Sync Key and for additional formatting of the data and deploy the WAR again.
(2) Database Changes are not reflected in the Device: I understand this is data retrieval.Did you Stop and Restart the MI Client, after the first Sync following the database changes you are mentioning.Do it.Actually this has to be done only for deploying new applications.Could you explain what exactly is the database change?
Did you change anything in the SyncBO.If you have changed then generate the XML again and the create a new WAR file, deploy it and run.This might help even though it is a longer solution.
(3) Looks like the Sync is not happening correctly after you Synchronised for the first time.This might be causing issue #2 above. Could you copy the details of the "InboundTransforException" in the post.Also post your trace file.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Importing parameters in Function Module SD_VBFA_ARRAY_READ_VBELV
Hi All,
Please let me know the use of importing parameters in the Function Module SD_VBFA_ARRAY_READ_VBELV.
The importing parameters are,
I_BYPASSING_BUFFER
I_REFRESH_BUFFER
I'm having problem of memory overflow in the function module so I thought these importing parameters may help me.
Kindly explainn me the use of these importing parameters and tell me whether they help m out to avoid memory overflow problem.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Rama KrishnaHello Rama
If you bypass the buffer the fm will always read directly from the DB.
And if you refresh the buffer the buffer is cleared and will be filled again with every call of the fm.

How to call an eCATT programmatically with import parameters
Hi there,
I am using function module ECATT_EXECUTE to call test scripts from within ABAP test code, like below. Unfortunately, I am not able to pass my actual import parameter values. It seems that the interface does not provide a way to pass import parameters to the eCATT.
Although posted in November, this is still an issue for me. Does anybody know an answer?
call function 'ECATT_EXECUTE'
exporting
to_execute = lt_script
display_log = space
i_supress_output = 'X'
importing
executed = lt_executed
logid = ls_logid
trace_prot = lt_trace
exceptions
nothing_to_do = 1
too_many_scripts_called = 2
others = 3.
Does anybody reading this have a solution?
Thanks and regards,
Rüdiger

Edited by: Rüdiger Plantiko on Jan 17, 2008 3:05 PMHello Rüdiger,
direct passover would be fine - well, I've come to get used to finding workarounds in SAP though. Maybe, the function module will support the missing parameters in some forthcoming release.
Btw I switched over to tables ECTC_VAR / ECTC_DATA and pass obj_type = 'ECTC' to ECATT_EXECUTE, since test configurations can directly be executed.
You don't happen to know what has to be done, if the call of ECATT_EXECUTE results in a dump? After correctly executing the test configuration. Looks like eCatt tries to put the resulting log to nowhere. Perhaps I have to initialize some kind of a log receiver first or set some option in the start profile? I passed DISPLAY_LOG = SPACE, and SUPPRESS_OUTPUT = 'X'.
Dump was:

Placing an Import process in the Background
Hello -
I have an Import process that is currently running in the foreground on Sun Solaris, and I want to place the PID of the Imp process in the background. How do I place it in the background while it is running? Do I have to suspend, then place in the background?
Thanks.Not sure. I assume unix or linux being used.
If , for example you were editing a file in 'vi', how would you put that in the background and get a prompt?
Do a 'man' of 'fg' and 'bg'.
Can you put all the import parameters on the command line (or use a cmd file)and append the '&' symbol (above nummeral 7 on keyboard) to the line? Make sure to log import feedback to a file. -
hi all,
when i call a function module in a program, why are the import paramters (which are export parameters of FM)commented out initially?
thanksLets use an example. Look at the function module GUI_DOWNLOAD.

Notice that the IMPORTING parameters of the funcion module are actually the EXPORTING parameters when calling the function module. These parameters are commented out only when mark as optional or have a default value assigned to them.
Notice the EXPORTING parameters of the function module,
there is only one, FILELENGTH. These are always commented out by default, because you don't need to bring them into the calling program. Notice that when calling the function module, it is coming back thru IMPORTING parameter.
Tables parameters work just like IMPORTING paramaters where they can be optional. If they are optional, they will be commented.
Does this make sense now?

Importing parameters RFC from SAP
Hi,
I read that is possible call a RFC from SAP using 'call fm destination xx in background'. But, how can i get importing parameters if the fm is asynchronous?
I'll apreciated any helps! thanks,
Alexandre!
Message was edited by: Reiner Hille-Doering (marked as question)Hi Alexandre,
I guess you should use the refernce fields when you indicate them ref. you can access the parameters, These will extra memory so it is better if you include whenever they are necessary

The import parameters were not filled correctly
Hi BW guru's
I am working on BW 3.O AND USING A FLAT FILE. I was trying to create hierachy to a infoobject(SalesrepID-SREP). First i enabled the (with hierarchies) tab under the hierarchy tab of change characteristics of SalesrepID, and selected the Time dependent hierarchy structure RadioButtoon. Then Activated the info object. All the tables for hierarchies are generated. (BIC/HIO/SREP,BIC/KIO/SREP and BIC/IIO/SREP) when I right click the info object and try to create Hierarchy it is populating an information box saying that the, "The import parameters were not filled correctly". please kindly try to help me.
Thanks in advance.Hi,
Under the Hierarchy Tab, click on the external characteristics button and transfer your sales office and sales region from the left-->right window. Return to the InfoObject maintenance screen and activate your Infoobject.
Right click on your infoobject and click on the "Create Hierarchy" option.
Hope it helps

How to make the client connect to the server at the command prompt?
I found this code on IBM's website, it was a training session on servers and clients using java.
The code compiles fine and the server seems to start up properly when I use java Server 5000. I think whats happening is the server is running and listening for a connection on port 5000.
When I try to run the client I get the following error.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main
I see a start() method but no main. As far as I know, applications should all have main, it seems as if the person who wrote this kinda confused applets with application. Not that I would really know what happened.
If you have time, could you tell me if there's an easy fix for this? I would love to have this client/server working if it isn't too much trouble. As I have looked all over the net for a free client/server applet that will actually let me see the java code and none of the free ones do allow getting to their source.
Most of them allow you to customize them somewhat but also have built in advertising that can't be removed.
This is the closest I have come to finding one that lets me look under the hood. But alas it doesn't work out of the box and I don't know what to do to fix it.
Heres the code: Server:

Hello,
When I try to install the client on the site server itself it gives me this error message and fails the ccmsetup. I only have this on the site server. Clients to other servers and computers are pushed fine. If I check the version of the MP it says 5.00.7958.1000
in ADSI. I removed the MP object in CN=System, CN=System Management. Waited for it to be regenerated automatically by SCCM but the installation doesn't work still.
I tried to install with several methods including directly from ccmsetup.exe in ccmsetup folder, pushing by sccm itself, running from commandline, ...
I run SCCM 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and the database on SQL 2008 on Server 2008 R2

I hope someone can help me with this.
Kind regardsI agree with Idan. You can easily remove the Management Point Site System role and add it again with no adverse effect. This should solve your problem.

Exporting and importing parameters
Hi,
Can any one explain how the exporting and imopting parameters work in case of function call.
for example in the folowing code:
CALL FUNCTION DOWNLOAD
EXPORTING
FILENAME = <default file name>
FILETYPE = <default file type>
MODE = <create new or extend>
IMPORTING
FILESIZE = <size of file in bytes>
TABLES
DATA_TAB = <internal table to transfer>
EXCEPTIONS. . . .
Do we have to specify the importin parameters also in the program, and if yes what is the use of specifying them.
Thanks,
DhirajYou need to fill only export parameter and tables parameter
CALL FUNCTION DOWNLOAD
EXPORTING
FILENAME = <default file name> -> specify local file name
FILETYPE = <default file type> 'ASC'
MODE = <create new or extend> comment mode
IMPORTING -> comment import parameters
FILESIZE = <size of file in bytes> comment
TABLES
DATA_TAB = <internal table to transfer> -> give internal table
EXCEPTIONS. . . . uncomment all exceptions
this FM will download the data from internal table data to local file as like.txt or .xls
Thanks

How does one pass import parameters to a report within a method?
Hello all,
Well how does one pass import parameters to a report which is within a method ...end method.
for example :
method 123
SUBMIT reportname using selection '1000'
endmethod .
Here we need to pass values into the selection screen and run the report for those values.
The values are say 'ABC' ( tablename "DEF" and field name "HIJ" ).
I hope the question is clear, awaiting your response
Thanks and Regards,
Sandeep.Go to SE24
Parameters: Give the Parameter name, Typing method is "Type" is the domain type that u are selecting, say for e.g : Parameter is "P_CONT" , its associated type "CHAR32" etc
For Select Options: Parameter name say "S_CUST", Type"importing". For this you need to give an associated type which must be created as "TABLE TYPE " in SE11. That table type needs to have a "LINE TYPE" .
LINE TYPE is a Structure created with components "SIGN, OPTION, LOW & HIGH" for select-Options.
NOTE: for a Table type related to Customer data fields "say KUNNR", the line type created must have the Component Type and data Type corresponding to the Data Element associated with "KUNNR" ;i.e: "CHAR" etc.
See if this is clear to you or revert back in case of any Confusion. -
Is it possible to search the client for a file in WebDynpro?
Hi,
I need to check inside a WebDynpro application wether a
file exists on a client or not, befor showing or listing it.
I have a UNC-Name for the location (e.g.
servername\dirname\filename.extension).
Another task would be to browse this directory for all other existing files and dirs and list them.
Is this at all possible with WebDynpro?
Or would this only be possible by using the filesystem of
the applicationserver (e.g. mount the dir on the filesys)?
Is it possible to launch a client-located script (like VB-Script or such) in WebDynpro?
(e.g. to search the dir, create a text-file and read this text-file).
Or are these concepts totally against the security-policies
of web-based applications?
Thanks in advance.
AlfHi Alfred,
generally web applications run in a sandbox on the client.
That means that they have no access to the file system.
To get access you need to install a certificate on the client:
You create a key with the Java-Tool "Keytool" and sign the application (or the applet) with the Java-Tool "Jarsigner".
That generates a *.cert file wich you now have to export from the parent system and import onto the client (with Keytool).
You will find many detilled instructions for this procedure in the internet.
Unfortunately I don`t know how it works with Web Dynpro.

Export/Import Parameters dissapear when using user-exit
I am using some import/export parameters in a dynamic action when I create a new record (infotype). I am also using a user exit to avoid modifying BEGDA and ENDDA when I modify the record (IPSYST = 'MOD'). Using this user-exit, the parameters dissapear from memory so the dynamic action does not execute well. What can I do to use the user-exit?? Anything to add?
In the dinamic actions when I create, I delimit records on infotype with export/import parameters defined in infotype Module Pool. When I delete, I avoid deleting the record if it is not the last one. With the user-exit the modification of begda endda in infotype is not allowed. If I use the user-exit, the dinamic actions which use export/import parameters, don't work.
I have tried to do in MP what I do in user-exit but it is not easy because I haven´t got in PSAVE what I want. -
HOW TO FIND THE PATH TRAVELLED BY THE CLIENT'S REQUEST PACKET
Hi,
I want to know is there any way by which we can know the entire path or the hops travelled by the client request packet to reach the web-server.Say suppose the client machine is part of a large network in a corparate where there is a a personlaized WAN. I want to know whther i can achive this using the servlets.
and i even want to know some information about the client's NIC Card Physical Address.If at all i use the HttpServletRequest.inetAddress() gives the public IP of the Client which is shared in the network.
Please suggest me a way by which i can do this.
Thanks in Advance!!!
