Mac Mail not showing all folders

I am using my @icloud email account and I only see the Inbox and Sent mail folders in Mac Mail. I am not seeing Junk, Trash, Notes, etc.. If I look in Library/Mail/V2/<account> I can see all these folders listed. If I delete an email via Mac Mail I can see it appear on iCloud.com in the "Trash" folder so the mappings are all correct. How can I display them in the Mac mail application?

It could be that the sidebar that shows the additional folders isn't showing at all, so you're only seeing the top bar with a few shortcuts. Does it look like this:
If it does, do this:
By clicking 'Mailboxes' you'll get the sidebar back. This can also be done by clicking View > Show Sidebar
Let us know how that goes!

  • Apple mail not showing all the messages?

In Apple mail, for my icloud account, I have some mailboxes which show the wrong number of messages, it shows too few.
As an example, a mailbox contains 150 messages, but apple mail reports there are only 146.
I rebuilt the mailbox and let apple mail do its thing. In the activity window I can see there are 150 messages. Yet, once apple mail has finished rebuilding the mailbox, it still tells me there are 146 messages. What's going wrong? Why would apple mail not show all the messages while in the activity window it clearly shows it knows there are 150?

    Solved!
This was too weird to be real. Apple mail does not show messages it believes to be duplicates, and buy, does it make big mistakes in deciding what are duplicate messages and what not! Some of my mailboxes had over 100 "duplicates" not showing according to apple mail.
I found a solution thanks to this topic:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/18265121#18265121
    defaults delete com.apple.mail AlwaysShowDuplicates
does yield an error in 10.8.2 ( Domain (com.apple.mail) not found. Defaults have not been changed. )
defaults write com.apple.mail AlwaysShowDuplicates -bool true
    Does work brilliantly though!

  • Address book of my mac does not show all my contacts in iphone. What do i do??

Address book of my mac does not show all my contacts in iphone. What do i do??

iCloud, which replaced MobileMe, requires OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  You will need to upgrade to OS X Lion higher in order to set up iCloud on your Mac.  First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
    Lion system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Mountain Lion and Mavericks requirements are the same, as listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
If you can run Mavericks, you can download a free upgrade from the Mac App Store.  If your system can only run Lion, you can go here to purchase a redemption code to download it from the Mac App Store.  If you prefer Mountain Lion for software compatibility reasons, you can go here to purchase a redemption code to download it from the Mac App Store.
After upgrading, you will find iCloud in System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, and can set it up as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.
Before upgrading, you may want to check the compatibility of your existing applications by checking here: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table.   Also be aware that older PPC programs such as AppleWorks and Office 2004 for Mac will not run on OS X Lion or higher.

  • Mail not showing all IMAP folders

    Hi all -
I use Mail at work, and we have an extensive folder structure on our IMAP server.
Some of the folders are not showing up on Mail, even though they do on other mail clients like Thunderbird, etc.
Thunderbird has a "subscribe" feature, but I do not see any such feature on Mail.
How can I get Mail to see these folders?

Since my update to 10.5.2 I have the same problem with some .mac folders. I can see them online, I can see them in Thunderbird, but not in Mail. I really hope that someone has the solution, because this is more than annoying as I have an integrated worklflow with Mail, iCal etc...
By the way, I freshly set up the .mac account several times, evenunder another (new) account, but to no avail.

  • MAC Mail not saving all sent items

    Hi,
I'm using OS X 10.6.7 and using MAC Mail over an IMAP connection.
For some reason this particular MAC Mail is not saving / recording all sent emails. The recipient is receiving them all so they've definitely been sent, but they're not appearing in the sent items / sent folders.
I have tried exactly the same IMAP account on another OS X 10.6.7 mac and ALL emails appear in the sent items.
It seems there is a fault / bug with the MAC Mail. Is there any hotfixes out there or any steps to try to ensure evry sent email is logged / saved in the sent folders?
    Thanks
    Chris

    Chris,
I have nearly the exact problem. The only thing I have noticed is it only seems to happen with the first email I have sent out. I can have the mail program open for awhile and do other things but when I write a new email and send it, it doesn't show up in Sent. It also happens if my first email is a Reply. I have to write to the person I sent the email to and ask them to forward it back to me so I have a copy!
All subsequent emails are saved in my Sent folder.
I cannot yet consistently repeat the problem. Saving the mail in the Sent folder works 95% of the time.
I think because it is the first email I send out it catches me off guard. I usually open the mail program and start typing a new email, send it and then go about doing other things, then later I realize it's gone. I even check the online mail at me.com and it's never there either.
This all started maybe 2-3 months ago.

  • Numbers for Mac does not show all stored Numbers files in iCloud that are already in use on iPhone and ipad

I have been using Numbers on both iPhone and iPad for a while and have about 8 files stored on iCloud. I have just purchased Numbers for Mac but I do not see any of my files stored in iCloud. I have created a test spreadsheet on my Mac which says it is stored on iCloud when I choose File - Open on my Mac but this test file does not appear on Numbers on iPhone or iPad.

I have tried all what you have suggested but still no luck. I am unable to locate the file Mobile Documents in either the Library folder under Mac HD or Mac HD - System - Library.
If you've set up iCloud properly on the Mac then in your Library there will be a Mobile Documents folder with documents in it:
Everything else syncs absolutley fine such as contacts, mail, notes, pictures etc etc.
Contacts, Mail, etc. sync via another iCloud protocol. For Numbers you need 'Documents & Data' turned on, per the screenshot upthread.
Numbers appears twice under iCloud for some reason though -
Numbers doesn't appear "under iCloud".  Numbers uses iCloud to sync. Not sure what your screenshot is showing. On the Mac your Numbers will be here (in Finder):

  • Apple + k (Go to Folder ) did not show all folders

    hello everyone
I tried to find some posts about the problem, but I could not find anything.
I created accounts in tree order. It means for example:
School name: MK (has many class room)
Class room name: 1mka ( has many users)
    Username: 1mka1, 1mka2......
    1) The first problem
When I login with 1mka1 on eMac machines, the login is successefull. It shows Desktop, Root, Documents, Applications, Music, Movie on left of harddrives
When I user Apple + k to connect to 1mka1´s folder and then click on "1mka1" , so it displays only "Site" and "Library" folders.
    WHY ??
If I user Apple + k to connect to 1mka1´s folder ---> click on "1mka" and then "1mka1", so it displays all folder such as Dekstop, Applications, Documents, Library, Music, Movie, Site
    WHY??
    2) The second problem
When I login with 1mka1 on PC machines, the login is successefull. But the virtual share point of 1mka1´home directory displays only "Site" and "Library"
WHY didn´t it display Desktop, Library, Applications, Documents, Music, Movie Site???
When I user Start-->Run-->type in "\\servername" --> click on "1mka" and then "1mka1", so it displays all folders.
I think that the first and the second problem are related. What I did wrong here. Please help. Thanks

  • Mac does not list all folders in a SMB share

Hi guys, this is a bit of a weird one and I've tried everything I can think of.
In our house we have a media centre running Windows 7. It has several shares, one of which we'll call folder "X". Folder X opens correctly on the media centre, and any other Windows machine perfectly. Almost every other machine in the house is running OS X 10.6, and one of my housemates today noted that some of the folders inside of folder X were not listed on a Mac. So far we've tested it on 2 Macs and 2 Windows machines, and everytime the Windows machine lists all folders inside of X, where the Mac does not. The weird thing is, it's cutting them out alphabetically, so it's basically from D through to I that are missing, all in all there are 30 (out of 160) folders missing inside of Folder X...here's what I've tried.
    On the Windows 7 machine:
    -Restarted server service
    -Removed Share X and re-added
-Checked share permissions on folder X
-Checked permissions on folder X, propagated to all child folders just in case.
    -Restarted machine after every change.
On the Macs we haven't really tried much as there's not much we can think to change. We've tried Finder, Path Finder (which I'm guessing will be exactly the same), restarting, removing from workgroup and re-adding...I can't think what would cause such a weird problem.
To make things harder we don't know exactly when it started happening but the OSX machines definitely used to list the folders and it happens on more than one mac. which I guess makes me think it's something on the Windows client. The 30 folders are not using any nonstandard characters, some are only a few letters long.
    Ideas on a postcard!?

    Reporting the same problem.
    1. Have Windows 7 MediaCenter with file sharing set up properly (LM+NTLM Authentication allowed and 128-bit encryption disabled in security policies).
    2. Test folder ("C:\income") and all the subfolders' owner is 'Guest', full access is granted for everyone.
    3. Connecting to MediaCenter from MacBook with Finder by pressing Cmd+K and typing smb://ip-addr/income
    4. Finder connects successfully, but some sub-folders and files are not being listed.
    Workaround:
    5. You can open a not-listed folder directly by pressing Cmd+K and typing smb://ip-addr/income/some-invisible-folder
    6. Voila! You're inside invisible folder.
In the meantime, i can see all the sub-folders on a Windows XP client machine, so i can make a conclusion that all of these 'invisible' sub-folders are actually accessible by Finder, but in some reason are just not being listed on Mac.

  • Windows Explorer not showing all folders in mapped dfs drive

I have a strange problem, a users does not see all of the folders in a mapped dfs drive. The drive has over 2000 folders but in explorer it only shows 400. If I open a command prompt I can cd to the drive and dir lists all folders. the explorer behavior
is also the same if I browse to the folder via UNC path.
    Thanks

    Hi jerry.v,
    What is your current situation?
When the client connects to DFS share and Access-Based Enumeration is enabled on these share folders at the same time, then Windows Explorer will not display files or
folders that a user does not have right to access.
The other concern is is the permission settings and the Hidden files and folder.
More information, please check the blog shared by Jay.ke:

  • Mac mail not showing in Mavericks

Ever since I have upgraded to Mavericks my Mac Mail isn't showing the content of my emails in Mac mail. I am receiving new emails, but it is just not displaying the content. Just a bunch of blank pages basically. Anyone else experiencing this, and if so has anyone discovered something that works?

So after reading through some of the other posts from other users on Mail issues with Maverick I figured it out.
    Mailbox>Rebuild Mailbox
    This fixed it for me.

  • Mac mail not showing jpg attachments after yosemite install

I use Mac Mail and have recently upgraded to Yosemite.
Since upgrading I can no longer view jpg images sent by email from my security camera system.  They used to be shown within the message, but since the upgrade to Yosemite they're not shown in the message anymore (well, they are shown in about 1% of messages), even the attachment won't open after saving to desktop.
When I try opening the attachment after I have saved it, it says it may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognize.
I can view these images when using outlook on my mac, but preferred the Mail app, as it was easier to view the images in Mail.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  • Mac Mail Not Showing New Emails on Inbox

    Hello all,
So I have recently reindexed my Mail application because all of the emails that have been unflagged were still docking in my Flagged folder. I searched up some similar queries on Apple forum and someone suggested to delete the Envelope files under MailData. I did this and it works perfectly.
However, after doing this action, new emails (to my Gmail account) wouldn't appear on my inbox. Here is what happens instead:
    - New emails arrived, flash notification appears on the top right handside of my Mac
    - Inbox folder still empty, Important folder count is up
    - Checked Important folder, still couldn't find the new emails
I have 3 inboxes on my Mail, 2 Gmails and 1 Yahoo. The problem only happens to the Gmail accounts. Yahoo account works perfectly fine. I didn't change any settings from Gmail account in the past ~5-9 months.
Anyone have a clue what goes wrong here?

any luck with your problem TSG?

  • Mac Mail not receiving all of my mail -- any ideas why not or how to fix?

My Mac Mail is my main work account -- I'm a freelancer & work from home. In the past month or so, about 4 work contacts have asked me why I haven't responded to emails I never received, which leads me to wonder how many other emails I haven't received. I don't care as much about dropped personal ones, but dropped work emails are a serious bummer.
Any idea how I can check what's going on or fix somehow? Not sure whether this is a Mac Mail issue or something else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could this have something to do with it?

  • Mavericks: Finder LH column not showing all folders, can't store PS files?

Out of the blue, when I opened Finder yesterday, I no longer see my desktop listed in the LH Column... all I see are external hard drives, both USB and NAS.  I have closed everything and restarted my iMac three times and nothing has changed.  I'm hoping its some obscure setting that has somehow been triggered by accident but I am baffled, because I did try looking at preferences to see if someth there is amiss but I'm probably too much of a neophyte to really know for sure.
Another annoying feature of Lion and especially Mavericks is that I seem to be having a lot of trouble opening existing files on my WD MyBookLive NAS data drive, modifying them as needed, and then _trying_ to save those modified files in the same NAS drive.  I've had that drive for at least 2 years and _never_ had a work in progress issue like this with previous versions of OS X.  ANd yes, if I open finder and select the exact file I want to modify, then select "Open in Adobe Photoshop CS4" I can open the file.  But I can't open the file from within PS or save the file to the NAS drive/folder where it belongs.  So unless I figure out a Mavericks fix... I have to copy an entire folder with all sorts of images and logos and text... to an external HDD and work on it there... IOW, Mavericks has rendered my 2TB NAS drive somewhat useless unless you accept redundant storage as the norm.

I forgot to mention i've also made this "make shift" refresh button
    tell application "Finder"
    tell front window
    update every item with necessity
    end tell
    end tell
Copy it, open Script Editor and save it as an executable application in your Utilities folder. Now put shortcuts to it in your Dock or your Sidebar or whereever. When you run it, the frontmost window in the Finder will be refreshed to its most current state from disk.
When I can see all items(when freshly mapped) and I click the app i've made above it removes the same files and folders from view.
