Mac Mini stuck on apple logo.

Dear community,
I have a late 2011 Mac Mini that suddenly gets stuck on the Apple logo on boot. It was working smoothly before.
Here's what I've tried:
Reset PRAM
Boot in safe mode
Boot in recovery mode
Boot in cmd-v
Boot in cmd-s
Boot from bootable USB backup
Boot from USB Mavericks installation
Boot in internet recovery
Cleaned the mac inside and out.
Checked the HDD connector cable
Replaced the RAM
No matter what, it freezes on the apple logo.
HELP please, i'm getting desperate, thank you.

Are yo booting into Internet recovery or the Recovery partition  on the HD?
OS X Internet Recovery
Mac models introduced after public availability of OS X Lion include the ability to start up directly from an Internet-based version of the OS X Recovery system. OS X automatically uses this feature when the Recovery System on the hard disk isn't available (such as when your hard disk encounters an issue, or when your hard disk has been replaced or erased). OS X Internet Recovery lets you start your Mac directly from Apple's servers. Starting up from this system performs a quick test of your memory and hard drive to check for hardware issues.
OS X Internet Recovery presents a limited interface at first, with only the ability to select your preferred Wi-Fi network and, if needed, entering a passphrase. Next, OS X Internet Recovery downloads and starts from a Recovery System image. From there, you are offered the same utilities and options as a local Recovery System.
Of you are booting to internet recovery and you can't connect that would either indicate a problem with your wifi network of hardware (or maybe firmware) on the Mini.
Can you try booting to Internet recovery with an ethernet connection?

  • HELP! ipad mini stuck on apple logo or low battery logo!!

So I updated my ipad mini to ios 7 about 2 weeks ago (havent had a chance to research the issue)
The update went through like normal until the end...when it went to reboot it loaded and went to the apple logo...but then it just stayed on the apple logo. i tried to wait for a while and it didnt load through so i tried holding the sleep/wake and home button with no luck. it appeared to be frozen. So I unplugged it and waited till the battery died to see if it would be fixed after I charged it and turned it back on.
It didnt take long to die cause the apple logo remained on the screen (the screen didnt put itself to sleep)...when it finally died I plugged it in and left it alone. When I came back though the apple logo was still on the screen. I read online to try to turn it off then holding the home button plug it into the computer... I tried this (and after 4 hours being plugged in) instead of booting into recovery it flashes the low battery screen again and turns off....does anybody know how to fix this?!

mine does that to, just dont get stuck in the recovery mode.

  • Ipod mini stuck with apple logo displayed

My ipod mini only displays the apple logo, will not reset, and is not recognized by the computer (doesn't open iTunes or appear on the desktop when I manually open iTunes). Has charged all day so battery should not be the problem. When I try to reset, the apple logo will briefly disappear then immediately come back on. Cannot get anything else to display. Any suggestions??

Thanks. I tried to put it into disk mode but it wouldn't do it. The apple logo still displays, but now it blinks when plugged into the computer, and stays solid when plugged into the AC adaptor. It is my son's iPod and he just told the battery hasn't been holding its charge as long as it used to. But this sounds like more than a battery problem to me. What do you think? It was purchased in Dec of last year. Thanks for all your effort to help me!

  • Mac pro stuck at apple logo loading screen after software updates

I have an older MBP from 2008 - was prompted to do updates tonight and let it update and restart. It gets stuck at the gray apple loading screen and does nothing else. Have tried resetting PRAM and booting in safe mode. Safe mode works fine but nada on normal. Also tried giving it plenty of time to boot but it continues to load (with the little circle animation under the logo) and nothing ever happens.
Any ideas or suggestions? grateful for any help!! :(

Try starting your computer with the original DVD that came with your Mac Pro then run disk utility on your hard drive to repair it.  If you are running Mac OS X 10.7 then start your computer in Mac recovery mode (command + R) then run disk utility on your hard drive.

Have not backed up for months, so prefer not to lose the data.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Restore iPhone with iTunes on computer. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons. Click the Update or Restore button that iTunes offers.

  • Apple Mac mini g4 with Apple Pro Keyboard shift key stuck on

    Hey guys,
My mac mini g4 with Apple Pro keyboard has it's shift key stuck on and will not disable, this happened after I cleaned the keys with a "magic eraser" and is probably water damage, but when it is plugged into a PC the shift key is off and can be toggled as should be. Any help will be appericiated and if I can fix this it will save the faithful keyboard. Thanks in advance!

Thank you chorleyman! I just need a cheap platform for Logic to run, I'm not an advanced user, just to play for my soul. I'm usually using Windows based platforms, that's why I was confused about this particular model.
So if it looks good I think I will order this hardware next week.
If anyone have any more thoughts about the topic, please feel free to comment here! Thank you!

  • Ipad mini is stuck on Apple Logo, have shut down but still won't reboot

Ipad mini is stuck on Apple Logo.  Have done a forced shut down, but when it starts up again its back to the apple logo - its not moving either

    Hi Bonney Fam,
Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
You mention that your iPad mini is stuck at the Apple logo after it shut down. If you haven't already, try resetting it again:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
    From:
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If the iPad still doesn't start up past the Apple logo, try this method to reinstall iOS:
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

  • Mac stuck on apple logo, can't boot to disk utility...

    iMac 2010 running Yosemite.
Stuck on apple logo with loading wheel but does not progress from here. Have booted in single user mode and proceeded to do the /sbin/fsck -fy steps until the volume was reported as okay, this did little to help. I can boot using the option key and can see the hard-drive and recovery partition are there however cannot boot using command+R to access the disk utility as it simply stays on the apple logo.
Was wondering if anyone could advise what to do from here.
    Thanks in advance.

    Have you tried safe mode?

  • IMac 27 OS 10.6.8 Stuck on Apple logo when trying to re-install

I own a 1st own 27 inch 2.8 Ghz Core i7 Imac, 1 TB HDD and 12 GB 1067 MHz DRR3, originaly 4 GB then added 8 GB on 10/22/2011 from OWC. I own multiple iMacs for work but this one is mostly for entertaiment and play few online games like WoW and Stracraft 2.
Been using this iMac for a couple of years and never had any issue with it untill the last 3 or 4 months. I started to notice that while while joining online games I was suddenly always the last one to load, then I was experiencing lag and very short freeze time during the game play.
I then realized that I never did upgrade my memory so I decided to order an extra 8 GB from OWC, installed the sticks in and my load time was now solved, I was no longer the last one to load and most applications was running much smoother as well.
2 or 3 weeks into it, the lag came back and the random freeze were happening more and more often to the point that I could no longer play the game. I also noticed that if I tried to do multiple file transfers at once or jump from app to app I was getting the wheel of fortune way too often. I check my hard drive and realized that it was almost full, about 900 GB out of 1 TB were in use! Did a major clean up and now the drive is down to 400 GB and 600 GB available.
The wheel of fortune just won't go away, this computer is now so slow that it is pretty much unusable...
What I have done so far to fix it:
    - I ram few time Disk Utility, every single time it finds quiet a few permissions errors and repairs, I was also volume error message in read that I could not fix, it was asking be to reboot + hold C with the install CD to do the repair.
    - Reboot the computer with the install DVD in hold C but I am getting stuck at the apple logo.
    - Ran Disk Warrior which gave me the same error and asked to reboot with hold C, same problem I am getting stuck at the apple logo.
    - Did a reboot + option, getting the volume choice, select the DVD then get stuck at apple logo.
    - Did a Command + S reboot, ran a check disk with repair, told me that everything was ok.
    - Back in OS X, ran Disk Utility, the volume error now gone but still getting permissions to repair each time I run a check.
    - Ran a full scan with Drive Genius, 0 bad blocks found after 3 hours of scan.
    - Ran all tests on TechTool Pro 6 and no error on disk nor on Memory, still find permissions issues when I check permissions.
I am still getting the wheel of fortune randomly while I am typing this post, Techtool Pro is running memory test none stop, Drive Genius is scan the hard drive and Disk Warrior is checking permissions.
I removed the extra 8 GB of memory, the Mac gets even slower and still get the random wheels when trying to do more than 1 thing at once...
Not sure what to do next? I fell like the HDD is failing but every single test is telling me the opposite, can't figure out why i can't run an install after a reboot.
    Thoughts?

Have you reinstalled Snow Leopard? Before doing that see the following:
Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For disk repairs use Disk Utility.  For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. TechTool Pro provides additional repair options including file repair and recovery, system diagnostics, and disk defragmentation.  TechTool Pro 4.5.1 or higher are Intel Mac compatible;  Drive Genius is similar to TechTool Pro in terms of the various repair services provided.  Versions 1.5.1 or later are Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts had been significantly reduced in Tiger and Leopard.  These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems.
I would also recommend downloading the shareware utility TinkerTool System that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.  Other utilities are also available such as Onyx, Lion Cache Cleaner, CockTail, for example.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the commandline.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    Backuplist
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    iBackup
    JaBack
    Silver Keeper
    MimMac
    Retrospect
    Super Flexible File Synchronizer
    SuperDuper!
    Synchronize Pro! X
    SyncTwoFolders
    Synk Pro
    Synk Standard
    Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
Additional suggestions will be found in Mac Maintenance Quick Assist.
Referenced software can be found at CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
As a start I would suggest using a utility like Snow Leopard (now Lion) Cache Cleaner or a similar utility such as TinkerTool System to clean all user, system, and font caches. Also:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
And, visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on resolving SBBOD issues.
Yours may simply be an issue of cleaning up. You can try creating a new user account. Log into the new account. Do all these problems disappear?
The repetitive messages from Disk Utility are normal and may be safely ignored. I would be a bit concerned by the fact that you cannot successfully boot from an installer disc.
