MacBook 13 inch will not allow a HP 2600n color software update. Says it is installed but still cannot print. Am running OS X 10.6.8 and otherwise the computer operates nicely. :-)
While trying to install new printer suggested software from HP for a 2600n Laser color... it says it is fully installed... but then will NOT print. Have retried several times... turning off both the printer and the MacBook. Same old thing... says it is downloading its big file... then same 'ol fail. Have the printer plugged into either or both USB and network cables. Have tried all I know... and have run networks and related connection points in the public schools for years.
The setup for Mac had been fairly easy with HP, Epson, Canon, etc
and there historically was a cheat-sheet or shortcut page for Mac...
Did you get the driver for your OS X version through Apple Software Update?
{Perhaps there was a firmware update, too?}
Or was the driver/firmware download directly from HP Support pages?

They have a product user forum, but I can't say I've used them; printers are too disposable.
And troubles I had with HP in recent years were a matter of buying an Epson instead.

Printer errors can be so much ufn to diagnose. Given the vintage of your HP

Does it not show the presence of a wifi signal, or just not connect?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Firefox 27.0 will not allow me to have access to my web interface on my xerox 8560 mpf printer.
I believe the loss of connectivity occurred during the firefox upgrade since I was able to address the printer's web interface earlier. The complete error message is
Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.10.102. Peer was unable to decrypt an SSL record it received. (Error code: ssl_error_decryption_failed_alert)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.There have been issues reported caused by using some SSL cipher suites that aren't working properly with some servers.
A possibility to test this is to disable all SSL cipher suites on the about:config page (i.e. toggle security.ssl3.* prefs that are true to false) and enable one at the time to see if you can find the culprit and keep this suite disabled and reset the other cipher suites or possibly continue testing to see which ciphers work with this server.
Do a hard refresh of the tab with this not working page via "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" after each change. -
I have tried restarting my computer, tried uninstalling, tried reinstalling but it always tells me that Firefox is open and running. When I select the task manager, there is no "firefox" under process. I have tried checking to make sure that the "read only" box is not checked under the profile properties. it seems like my only option now is to create a new profile. However, the profile manager won't even come up because it says firefox is running in the background. So frustrating!
Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

You can force Firefox to create a new default profile if you remove the profiles.ini file.

My mac will not start due to a corrupted software update.
My mac will not boot into mountain lion OS which I think is due to a failed or corrupted software update.. I can access the recovery menu but I cant reinstall OS over the Internet. I have also tried to repair the disk but will not let me and foolishly I haven't backed up my mac up through time machine. There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to fully boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
1. Boot into Recovery (command-R at startup) or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in the support article linked below, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”

If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode by holding down the key combination command-T at the startup chime. Suppose I have two identical laptops loaded with my current time machine back up. I take one on a trip and update it with time machine but leave it behind. I come back with the time machine HD and connect it to the home laptop, will it just update or start over from scratch? is there a way to make it just update it?

My Macbook Air 2011 will not allow me to add Gmail accounts to my Mac Outlook 2011
been through the ringer...called Microsoft, contacted Gmail, Apple and a tech support from my IProvder. With that being said I have another mac, iMac 2013 with the exact same version of Mac Outlook 2011 that works...I went through the 2nd step verification and had to delete as it was causing even more problems.
Should be a simple set up of google but Mac Outlook 2011 won't take it. My internet google acounts are all working and so is my MAC mail.
Any direction or help would be appreciated.

The last upgrade for I Tunes on my Windows 7 PC was almost done when it showed error. I atempted to redownload and then when trying to reopen I Tunes it shows that the MSVCR80.dlll is missing and then a second message that states Error 7 (Windows error 126). It has told me to reinstall I tunes, which I have done many times with no sucess. All previous versions have never been a problem.
