Macbook air replacements

hello,
i recently purchased a macbook air 11" (base model) on October 21st
after a week, i started to notice that the air was not laying flat on multiple surfaces.
so i took it to the apple store, and the the guy at store aggreed with me and decided to give me a replacemnt macbook air.
Which then i took it home and noticed the bottom plate and the unibody wasn't flushed and also kind of wobbled....
So then i took it back and then they gave me another one, and fortunately this one was pretty good, untill i noticed that the screen would close itself when it is 2/3 close.
It is VERY frustrating to keep having to go to the store.
what should i do?
am i just being picky?

A few months ago I bought a Leica Camera and obtained in this connection a free download and a licence for Lightroom 5. The latter was downloaded to partly my stationary Mac Pro, partly my Macbook Pro, the latter so far being only used when travelling. A week's time ago I realised that my Macbook Pro, being more than 5 year old, could not any longer function properly with my hugs picture files, and not at least LR did not work well. Consequently I have now bought a new Macbook Air on which I would like to use my LR. So I would like to know if can obtain the right of a supplementary download to my new computer. How to proceed in such a situation, I can provide all evidence, such as LR 5 licence, TAN, etc to be needed by Adobe, and of course I fully agree that the LR-programme, at present on my Macbook Pro be cancelled. Any advice will be much appreciated.

I have been unable to transfer my Adobe Creative Suite on to my new Macbook Air

I have recently bought a Macbook Air, replacing my old Macbook Pro. However, I have been unable to successfully transfer the Creative Suite (CS5) using the immigration assistance, or even an external CD/DVD drive. Any ideas?

Is there any way to find out if an apple store can replace a macbook air battery whilst you are there before you go there?

My MacBook Air has come up with the Service Battery warning and isn't holding charge as well as it used to. I expect the battery needs replacing.
How do I find out if an applestore can replace it there and then?
I've been told I need to go online to book a genius appointment, and online the nearest apple store is one that can service macbook air laptops. However, when I go online and select book genius appointment for mac at this applestore it says "There are no available appointments at this store".
When I speak to apple on the phone, I am told, it is not possible to tell me on the phone whether apple stores have spare batteries or not for my macbook air.
On Tuesday I may have time to go to this apple store (Liverpool) without a genius appointment, but not to the next city (Manchester Trafford Centre). When I look for appointments at the Trafford Centre, the only available slot in the next 7 days is on Friday which I cannot do as I am not in the country. It is not possible to book further forward.
So, I really don't want to be going on a wild goose chase trying to find somewhere that can provide and fit a new battery.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated as to how I can get a new battery fitted for my macbook air as soon as possible.
As this is not a rant or complaint (my previous post was removed), I also would like to clearly provide the same constructive criticism as included in my previous post. When the problem "Service Battery" is highlighted by the laptop, in this "connected world" we live in, I think excellent customer service would be being able to book a genius appointment from your laptop with 1 or 2 clicks and also to be able to buy and reserve a battery to be fitted there and then.
As my macbook air is critical for my work and I used it 7 days a week, I really need to be able to replace on applecare customer service to fix this. Thanks.

call them, tell them you NEED a new battery installed, and they need to tell you when they can do it. That is their job to help you! Give pushback if necessary.

Mid 2011 macbook air. command key has popped off and is now missing the 2nd metal bar. can this be replaced?

The command key popped off my mid 2011 macbook air. It is meant to have two metal bars but can't find the 2nd one. I have clicked it back into place but if I press the button at the bottom the top pops up and I'm worried that if I don't fix the problem I may end up losing the key altogether!
Can you buy replacement metal bars? should I just remove the other bar completely?

You won't see anything in the Application Support --> Bootcamp folder unless you have previously downloaded the Windows Support Software. Good find.
ADDENDUM STEP:
This step should be placed between 9-10.
Open Bootcamp Assistant. Uncheck everything BUT, "DOWNLOAD THE LATEST WINDOWS SUPPORT SOFTWARE FROM APPLE". You will be prompted to burn the image to a CD/DVD or save to a USB Key. Save the image to a USB key. This will format your USB key properly in preparation for the files. The download commences and if you're lucky, the files will simply be saved to your USB key without having to manually copy them over to the key using the steps above.
IMPORTANT - Even if the support software hangs when its being saved to the USB key, you should now be able to navigate to the directory and see the image. Follow the steps above.

How can I get apple to replace my macbook air?

I purchased a macbook air in mid 2012. It's 13-inch 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5.
Anyways, since I've had this particular computer I've had to take it in on 3 occasions because it kept shutting off, or crashing anything I ran.
They have replaced the logic board all 3 times, and I believe the cost each time is approximately $500 (covered by applecare).
I'm really annoyed by the function of this particular device I've purchased. I really just want to get rid of this computer now.
My question is, how or when will apple decide to trash this computer instead of waste money by replacing the logic board every 5 months?
I would like a new computer. I am fed up of having to take my computer into the store– which mind you is far from my house, only to leave it there for a week before I can pick it up.

I'd suggest making an appointment with an Apple Genius, and discuss your options.

My Macbook Pro was stolen, and I have replaced it with a Macbook Air. New hard drive is too small for a Time Machine restore. How do I restore my more-expensive apps (ie iWorks) on my new Macbook without repurchasing them?

My Macbook Pro was recently stolen, and I have replaced it with a Macbook Air. I attempted to simply do a restore from the Macbook Pro's Time Machine backup, but since the new Macbook Air's hard drive is significantly smaller, a Time Machine restore was not possible. I even tried to choose only settings or only my User Profile (option) when restoring, but the backup was still too large to do a restore onto the new machine. How do I restore my more-expensive apps (ie iWorks) onto my new Macbook without repurchasing them? Also, I reaad somewhere that if you went to the Mac App Store and attempted to repurchase the app and clicked BUY, it would simply alert you that you have already purchased the app (and trigger a re-download)... NOT THE CASE... So I just dropped another $19.99 for a second copy of Pages... Not my intention....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you should get a usb backup drive as well. time machine has limited use in my eyes. it saves things. but older things can be errased ad space drops without telling you
nothing beats data redundancy. 2 saves is. 1. and 1 is none
im personally not fond of time machne though i use it only for a recovery parameter for a mac

How do I replace the contacts on MacBook Air with the contacts on my iPod Touch?

My main contacts list is on my iPod Touch which I sync with my office iMac. I want that list of contacts on my MacBook Air at home. Then I want to put that list on my new iPhone.
It appears that the default is for the contacts on the iPod Touch to be replaced by what is on the MacBook Air. That is the opposite of what I want.
My eventual goal is to have all my contacts updated using iCloud. The problem is that what exactly happens in these processes is not explained on the support pages that I can see.

Did you try to reset the sync history on your MacBookAir in iSync/Settings, delete the contacts on it, set up one contact after that and sync? This should trigger the message to merge contacts with your iPod contact list.
But make sure to have all devices backed up before you start.
You could also try to export your iMac contacts and import them on your MacBookAir again.

There is no download for the software. The factory software that you are looking for is called ilife. It is all of the software that would have came preinstalled with your mac on your original hard drive when you first bought it. You will have to get new software on your computer. This might actually be a great opurtunity to upgrade to Lions. Search the Lions software in the mac store and it will come up. Click add to cart and check out. The price for it is $20. I defientely recomend Lions, it has alot of new great features. Then wate for the install disk to come in the mail. when it come just pop it in and follow the step by step instructions. If you dont want to upgrade to lions however you can download the ilife package from apple.com for a small price. Hope this helps.

Install OS X on replacement macbook air HD from Lion

Hi,
My Macbook air hard drive recently gave up after 4 years (therefore out of warranty) so I bought a replacement hard drive for it.
At the time I was running snow leopard on my imac and understood I could use it's optical drive to install snow leopard remotely (I have the instsallation disk). However, I've since upgraded to Lion and that option has apparently been taken away. I don't have a firewire cable. Are there any other options?
I've tried using the Lion Recovery Disk Assistant and after creating a recovery USB, formatted the hard drive using the disk utility. Unfortunately it hangs on 'Loading Installation Information...' when 'verifying my computer's eligibility' with Apple.

Replace MacBook Pro & Mainstage with MacBook Air

I'm thinking about replacing my old model MacBook Pro (2.4GHz, early 2008 model, 6GB) with a MacBook Air 11 (1.6GHz, 128GB). I'd like to install Logic Studio on it and a few choice sample libraries (specifically, Ivory and NI's Electric Piano) for use with MainStage when I'm on stage.
I currently use my MacBook Pro for one purpose: to get a great piano sound on stage when I perform. I use a USB connection for the Keyboard/Midi and an external FW800 drive for the sample libraries. I would load the libraries on the 128GB flash drive on the MacBook Air.
I believe a MacBook Air would suffice and give me everything I need. Any suggestions and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. Anyone currently doing this, please contact me with your findings. Thanks in advance...

Replacing MacBook Air Screen

I think I killed my screen. There is now what looks like a 2 inch wide streak going down the screen starting at the top where the WiFi, bluetooth icons are located. Any idea how much it costs to replace a screen?
