Mail 1.3 for 10.3.9 version : application refuse to function correctly

My problem is the following : when I open Mail 1.3, on my 10.3.9 version, the application refuse to function correctly : the first window wich must open at the beginning doesn't want to open, and when I want to quit this, I can't quit it normaly, it's always necessary I force it to quit.
If you have a solution to my probleme, thanks to specify it to me (in French if possible, otherwise in English !).

In case anyone is still scoping this, I am having the same problem. Additionally, I have zeroed and random wrote my harddrive, trying to avoid that archive and install problem, reinstalling my OS from the ground up and installing OS 10.3 as an upgrade. No matter what, Mail is still pulling the same stunt... I open it, but the viewer window doesn't pop up until I select a new viewer window from "File". When I try to quit, I have to actually force quit the app. Also, Mail will not finish logging in or fetching new mail...whether or not this is the same for the previous post, I don't know, though.

When I try to file messages into mail folders or delete messages, they reappear back into my mailbox. Sometimes after I have read and deleted a message, it pops back into the inbox marked as unread. This problem only began occuring after I installed the latest OS update.

Remote loading Multi-versioned application & ApplicationDomains & communication

let's have an application A that loads application B using SWFLoader. Is it possible to have A and B compiled with different Flex SDKs and have the applications in the same ApplicationDomain?
I want to communicate between the applications, for example add some event listener to SystemManager of B. If I use loadForCompatibility=true, I get coercion error (of course - ApplicationDomains are different and we have two SystemManagers, so flex has no idea which one to use).
Any ideas how to achive the communication?

I would be lovely if Adobe created some demo for remote loading multi-versioned application using runtime shared library, with some event communication between applications

Mail continually asks for Password, Safari doesn't accept

I update today to Safari Version 5.0.2 (5533.18.5). After I did this I have not been able to access my university e-mail either through Mail or a web based access in Safari. Mail continually asks for my password, and Safari doesn't accept it. All my mail settings are correct. Firefox will not allow me to access e-mail through the web either.
I am desperate, can someone help me?

You are welcome. I'm glad you got it back up.
(1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
(2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
(3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
(4) Add some SARE rules:

Mail constantly asking for proxy parameters

I am using the Apple Mail program to acess a corporate exchange server ; my company's network has a proxy ( which I know how to manage; I have input the proxy parameters into network preferences and web surfing is fine)
When I use mail ( and seems especially when I read emails with embedded graphics) I have dozens of screens asking (again) for proxy parameters
How can I input them one for once and get read of all those dialiogue screens ?

Mail constantly asking for passwords

I know this has come up lots of times but nothing I try fixes the issue. Mac Mail constantly asks me for passwords.
Hotmail is the worst for some reason. I have fixed keychain, removed password from keychain, changed password, removed account and added again and still it goes on and on, several times an hour!
I have exhausted all advice i found on here and i can't think of anything else to try. it is most frustrating. has anyone found a new fix for this issue?
also, i have no idea where to post this as nothing comes up when searching for mail or email !

Selective XML Index feature is not supported for the current database version , SQL Server Extended Events , Optimizing Reading from XML column datatype

As a last resort on optimizing my stored procedure ( Below ) i wanted to create a Selective XML index ( Normal XML indexes doesn't seem to be improving performance as needed ) but i keep getting this error within my stored proc . Selective XML

I currently have iTunes version 7 and I need to upgrade to version 10. I am afraid of losing all my music if I just download 10 and when I use the "Check for updates" in the version 7 help menu, it tells me the server cannot be contacted.

I currently have iTunes version 7 on my computer and need to upgrade to version 10 to sync my new nano iPod. When I tried the "check for updates" under the version 7 "help" menu, it said it could not contact the update server. I am afraid if I just download version 10 from the website, it will wipe out my music library. What should I do to upgrade?

Back up your music and install from the website. You probably won't need to do this, but if your library is erased, restore it from the backup.

Office Plug-in : support for MS Office 2010 version

We tried to use the Office Plug-in that is available with OBIEE version 10.1.3.3.2 for MS Office 2010 version.
It does not work and throws an error message that indicates Office 2003 or Office 2007 are the versions that are supported.
Questions:
1. Is there a patch available for this plug-in that will work with Office 2010 version?
2. Does OBIEE 11.1.1.3 (Current release) support Office 2010 through the plug in? If not any insight into when Office 2010 is supported by the OBIEE Office Plug-in
Also, I heard that Office Plug-in and Smart View are going to be merged into a single product in the future releases... any thoughts on this as well.

We raised a support log few weeks back on this. The answer Support gave:
At the moment, Office 2010 is not certified against the current release of OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 and OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0
Oracle is planning on Supporting MS Office 2010 on with BI 10.1.3.4.2 and 11.1.1.4.0. No official eta's for the releases at this stage.

You may use the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, but using different iCloud Apple IDs is recommended.
If you use the same iCloud account on your iPhones it will sync all of your contacts, reminders, and notes automatically and it could be a pain. I don't know exactly how you would want to have the iCloud accounts set up on the Macs, because I don't know exactly how you use them. (I am assuming you share?). But you can do whatever you like, you can even keep the same iCloud accounts, etc but you may want to disable the syncing of certain items, because reminders for ones phone popping up on the others automatically would probably get annoying, but that is just me.

Mail server setup for LAN use only

I want to use smtp-notify for alert mails.
But I want to send these mails to LAN only - no internet connection is available.
How do I set up a mail server on SOL11E (pop or imap)?
The mails in /var/mail are just a simple file so I can't use them (like svccfg setnotify problem-diagnosed mailto:root@localhost )
I want to have a system where I look into my Inbox of my locally connected client. So I will be automatically aware if something happened to the Sol11E system without looking into the log files or /var/mail manually.

If you do have an internal mail server, you should be able to set the DS parameter in sendmail.cf to specify the mail server. If you don't have an internal mail server, and you are all using external e-mail accounts, that should still work. By default, sendmail (if running) should be able to send e-mail outside the LAN. Sendmail uses DNS to locate the mail server for the recipient.
You can verify that dns is working on the client with nslookup or dig
