Mail disapearing form icloud

hi all,
I hope you ca help!
I have created folders on icloud and have been moving mail to them for a while now, i have just gone to check a bill i placed in a folder from a few months ago and it has now gone and cannot be found?
your help is appreciated.

I lost mine. I created folders awhile back, but my email wiped itself out 3 days ago.

We run a mail server from the office - this is IMAP and mail is directed to the server via MX records pointing to the office. lately mail seams to be disapearing randomly from mail boxes.
the mesage gets delivered and the disapears a few seconds later - its not in trash nor in junk folders?
some messages dont arrive at all - collegues copied in on conversatons do recive the messages though?
its only recently started after a year of perfect function. the mail boxes are not large and no rules are in place to block or filter mail.
some users have there IMAP accounts on phones and a few macs but the missing messages can not be found on any of them.
any ideas?

See if somebody's mail client is using POP3 (which tends to download and delete), or has message download and deletion enabled within IMAP.
Once you're sure it's not a mail client that's configured for message-deletion shenanigans, have a look at the mail server logs and see if you can determine what's happening with the messages.

When I go to manage storage on any device & it will display how much room each program or app is using, it still shows that my e-mail is taking up the most room. Also, on a related subject, why does my mail not sync accross all devices? ie. when I delete an email on one device, why do I still see it on all my other devices? How can I change this?
I have an iphone5, ipad2, ipod 4th gen, ipod 3rd gen, all running on my same apple id - but I have a PC not a Mac home computer - is this part of the problem? Looking to upgrade to a Mac sometime this year...

Mail is backed up automatically. If you make backups automatically, open Mail application and then, open the Time Machine app (in /Applications/Utilities). You will access to the Time Machine interface, and you will be able to see all your mails of all the backups you have, and you will be able to restore them. It means that your mails are backed up onto the Time Capsule

we do what your doing... we use the same ID for "Icloud".
We do NOT use the same ID for: Face time and Imessage

I'm facing a dilemma : switch from Gmail to iCloud
I would like to gather my cloud account and i'm quite satisfied of apple icloud, but there still is a last barrier to me :
multi-mail accounts !
I didn't find any solution in order to be able to send mails from iCloud with an alias as @gmail.com, @live.com or any other mails.
I totally can forward all my mails to my icloud address (im already doing it with Gmail) but i NEED to be able to answer my mails with the correct alias (for work as much as for private life) just as i currently do with google mail service linking my alias smtp's.
This is the last thing that makes the swap from Google to iCloud impossible for me, but maybe there is a solution ....

You cannot send emails via iCloud from non-iCloud email addresses. There is no solution to that using the iCloud service.
There are some convoluted workarounds that involve setting up multiple email accounts with different outgoing mail servers, but they do not allow you to send non-iCloud Mail via iCloud.

if it's a message coming from your yahoo account, it means that your account has been compromised, not your phone itself. i would suggest changing the password for your email account

I changed my AppleID/Password and now am locked out of iCloud. iCloud says maximum number of free accounts have been activated. tried Settings, Mail etc but iCloud does not appear. I was going to delete it and start again.

Had to change Apple ID/Password recently now cannot access iCloud. In settings when tapping iC, log in screen appears with old ID and request for (old) password.
In Settings Mail, Contacts etc iCloud does not appear. I was going to delete account.
Trying new ID/Password message appears "maximum no. of free accounts have been activated".
Using old ID/Password message apperas "you can,t sign in because account was disabled for security reasons ......reset password at iforgot.apple.com which i did.
Can anybody help please??

I tried to log in to iCloud but a message appears telling me I "can't sign in because my account was disabled for security reasons....reset password at iforgot.apple.com". I don't know why this happened.
I reset both my Apple ID and password.
When I tap Settings iCloud is listed on the left side between General and Mail, Contacts etc.
Tapping iCloud brings up a log in screen for iCloud which shows my old Apple ID and requests the password. If I put the password in I get the message as above.
If I use the new Apple ID/Password I get the message "the maximum number of free accounts have been activated....
In settings there is no option to "Delete Account"
Any suggestions??

I am having a problem understanding exactly what I am supposed to put here near the very bottom after <INPUT NAME="redirect" TYPE="hidden" VALUE= and after <INPUT NAME="NEXT_URL" TYPE="hidden" VALUE= I know that I am supposed to replace the "index.html" part in both lines I am not sure what I am supposed to replace it with. What are you trying to do exactly? If you would like to make a piece of text link to a mailto code where, if clicked, it will automatically open up that person's email with a blank email page with u as the receiver, then all you have to do in Dreamweaver is..
1. Highlight all the text you want the link to the email to be.
2. Go to the "link" window in the properties panel under the main viewing window
3. Type in "mailto:youremailhere" without the quotes of course and that will create the link I believe you might be looking for.
If this is not the nature of your problem please be more descriptive.

Unfortunately you cannot change an iCloud mail address once you have created it. You can however use an iCloud alias which you can set up at iCloud.com.
To create an alias.....
Navigate to the Mail feature at iCloud.com and click on the gear icon in the bottom left corner. Choose Preferences from the drop down menu, then select accounts from the options across the top, here you can create your alias.

Unless you tell us what you have tried that didn't work, we have no way of knowing.
Open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to ICloud then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to sync your Mail view Wi-Fi.

System Settings - Mail Contacts Calendars - iCloud

After switching to Mountain Lion, I have created a new Apple ID with @icloud.com domain. I try to set it in System Settings -> Mail Contacts Calendars -> iCloud and it works for Contacts , Calendars, Safari, Documents but not for Email. When clicking on the Email Icon the progress indicator is rotating and after few seconds an AlertView shows with message "Imposible to Activate Mail".
Anyone has the same problem ?
