Mail keeps locking up ever since i upgraded to ML
So ever since i upgraded to ML my Mail runs extremely slow. Also my Contacts will not sync with the icloud. I have tried reinstalling ML and shutting my Icloud account off and on. also deleted my email and reinstalled the same email address, but nothing seems to work. I also have my icloud running to a ipad and other iMac (home computer) and they run perfectly fine. My iMac at work tho doesnt seem to work very well. Every time i open Mail or Contacts i will get the spinning rainbow or 30 seconds or longer. Never had this problem untill i installed ML. BTW i also ran the Disk Utility but didnt help either. any suggestions would be appreciatted.

The Mac OS X 10.4.7 Update introduced connection issues as a result of (according to the documentation) "Mail now supports connecting to mail servers through a SOCKS proxy". If that's the problem, you must go to System Preferences > Network and disable the SOCKS Proxy in the network configuration used to connect to the Internet, if it's enabled.

Someone at work had the same issue when they upgraded to 10.4.7 and after trying for a while when they went back to OS10.4.6 the mail started working again. I dont want to go back to OS 10.4.6

Firefox 14 keeps hanging severely ever since I upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Flash (11.4).
On September 22, I got a notification to update to the newest version of Flash (11.4). After installing it, Firefox (version 14) began to hang severely on some of my favorite sites, like DeviantArt and Facebook. After trying to process things, it gave up and wouldn't respond. After booting up in Safe Mode, I turned off the flash add-on, and everything worked fine, save for the games that required flash to play. As soon as I turned it back on, the hanging and unresponsiveness came back.
I wasn't able to get to any of those sites without having serious hanging issues. I just uninstalled Flash, rebooted, then reinstalled it. Everything seems to be working fine now.

I have an ipad mini that keeps shutting down ever since I upgraded to ios 7.1.2.
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

I can't move my incoming mail messages on my desktop into my mailboxes ever since i upgraded to Yosemite. It keeps defaulting to the old arrangement. My email account runs on IMAP.
Hello using the settings from my email provider (Virgin Media), I set up my email account on my Mac. The problem arises trying to move the emails from the Inbox to the various mailboxes I set up. All this is occurring within Apple's Mail app, not the Desktop.
Could it be anything to do with the IMAP-enabled synching between my email account on my computer and on Virgin Media's servers where my actions on my computer are not being communicated to the server? I am not an expert and only guessing here! Thanks for pitching in. -
Ever since I upgraded my iPhone 4 to Version 5, all the new apps that I try to download keeps saying "waiting" on my phone... It won't open or download! Only the old apps that I already had before I upgraded my phone works. Please help!!!
Try resetting the iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Why do i have to keep Force quitting applications ever since i upgraded to Mountain lion. It is very annoying when applications cannot be existed normally.

Ever since I upgraded to IOS 7 on my iPad2, it does not remember my passwords, even though I check "keep me signed on". Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing? I did not have this issue with the previous OS. Thank you.
Thank you, James, but I do have a WiFi connection on the iPad mini. The Numbers files update on my iPad third generation and iPhone just fine when connected to the same network.

Snow Leopard breaks quite a few drivers - my Canon exhibited the same problem.
I eventually found updated drivers on the Canon website. You can try that with the HP, but if the all-in-one is more than a year or so old, don't hold your breath.
You can also try Software Update to see if it will offer new drivers, or failing that go to the Support Downloads site and search for HP updates.
In fact there's a new one for HP at the top of the list just now.
You may not necessarily want the latest one, though - check the specs to see if your model is covered; if not, search for the previous update etc. -

Which kind of account you are using?
If you are using a business account (for example [email protected]) you must set POP account info properly, filling all the blank fields (name, email address, description, password, Host Name, user's name, SMTP). Just one field blanked causes error in sending/receiving.
If you are using a default account (iCloud, Yahoo!, Hotmail...), fill all the blanck fields (Name, Email account, Password, Description) and sign in.
If not works, delete the account and sign in again

Ever since i upgraded to firefox 6 it keep freezing and crashing about every 10 to 20 mins.
It does not matter what website i am on it just keeps doing it.
I have no addons and no themes.
I hope someone can fix my problem as i am thinking very hard to move to a different browser.
I have internet explora on my laptop and it dont freeze and dont crash.
I love firefox but i want this issue fixed.

christianYeah same here. I dont know why it keep happening but its not fair and its really getting on my nervers. If it keeps happing i might change my browser i dont want to as i like firefox but if it does keep happening and no one fixs this then bye firefox.

After several attempts with Comcast to fix the problem of receiving mail, I am hoping someone here can give me sound advice. Ever since I upgraded to OXS Lion I can send email through Comcast account but, cannot receive it
Please detail ALL you have done so far in the way of troubleshooting? Need this info to avoid the been there done that scenarios that you have already tried w/Comcast.

I no longer am able to see how many emails I have in my inbox ever since I upgraded to iOS 7 is there a way for me to see how many emails are in my inbox now?
I have the same problem - I'd like to see the total number of emails I have in each folder when I'm in the folder - it used to be at the top of the screen but since upgrading to iOS7 it's gone. It now only shows how many emails are unread when you're in the folder list.
Gumby20133, I tried double clicking the Home button but nothing happened when I swiped up on the mail preview thumbnail - please could you explain what I was doing wrong? Actually, even if I could do that, would I have to do it every time I wanted to see the total amount of emails in each folder? As what I'm looking for is a way to permanently have the amount of emails showing in each folder - is there any way I can do that?

Then your basic issues are: too little RAM, incompatible software, dysfunctional installation.
Add more RAM or kill as many programs that you use until the computer is running normally.

Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
