Mail Strikethrough shortcut

Hi,
For a number of years, I've been waiting for Mail and TextEditor to support the strikethrough text style. You can't make shortcut via OS X System preferences because there is no (text, pulldown )menu for strikethrough.
When I was disappointed again, when I recently switched to OS X Mavericks and found out that Mail 7.1 still doesn't support a keyboard shortcut for strikethrough, I tried to make a shortcut via Automator.. then AppleScript. I found out AS doesn't support rich text.
Is it possible to create a shortcut / trigger a script that copies the selected text in Mail, somehow makes strikethrough text of it, by exporting it to another app that supports strikethrough, then importing it back maybe?
Thanks,
Leon

I'd like to find a way to do it with one keyboard shortcut.
Maybe some GUI Scripting :
tell application "Mail" to activate
tell application "System Events"
tell process "Mail"
set flag to (window "Fonts" exists)
if not flag then
keystroke "t" using {command down}
repeat until window "Fonts" exists
end repeat
end if
tell group -1 of splitter group 1 of window "Fonts"
tell menu button 1 of group 1 of group 2
click
click menu item 2 of menu 1
end tell
end tell
if not flag then keystroke "t" using {command down}
end tell
end tell
And just replace “click menu item 2 of menu 1” with “click menu item 1 of menu 1” to remove strikethrough.

• Strikethrough shortcut for Apple Mail?

Is there a keyboard shortcut for strikethrough in Apple Mail?
Having to open fonts (CMD + T) and then pull down the strikethrough menu > Single is extremely long winded when you are trying to edit a document.
Does anyone have a simple command like CMD + B is for BOLD.
Thanks,
Steven

I FOUND TWO SOLUTIONS!
TextSoap - new version #7 also allows you to striketrough text system wide.
Keyboard Maestro macro maker which a lot of people are using in replace Quickeys works too.
There is an example macro in the Macro Library, in the Text section, called Red Strikethrough that copies the text, applies red foreground, and strikethrough attribute to the clipboard, and then pastes the text.
Insert that macro from the macro library and remove the red foreground, or create it yourself:
Type the ⌘C Keystroke
Apply Style to Clipboard: Set strikethrough to solid single.
Type the ⌘V Keystroke
Hope that helps.

• Mail Accounts Shortcut no longer working in Lion

In Snow Leopard I heavily relied on some custom shortcuts for switching between my different email accounts when sending mail as outlined in this site: http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20081120093222315 . Then I upgraded to Lion and much to my chagrin, these shortcuts are no longer working. I have tried everything to get them to work: resetting passwords to defaults, repairing permissions, deleting my universal access and keyboard .plist files. What I have noticed is that it may be a problem with the "<>" characters used by mail in this field. When I create a shortcut in System Preferences I will type "SV <[email protected]>" and exit System Preferences. When I go back in it says ">SV <[email protected]>". No matter how many times I go in and try to fix this it doesn't work. If anyone else is having this problem or if anyone has any suggestions, Please Help!

This is difficult to sort out without hands on access to the webapp. I think Firefox should still allows your webapp to detect the Shift+F9, or at least it does in this simple example:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<title>Test Shift+F9</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>Try Shift+F9<br><input type="text" name="textinput" size="25" value="sample value"></p>
<script type="text/javascript">
function keys(key){
if (!key) {
key = window.event;
key.which = key.keyCode;
if (key.which == 120){ // F9 key
if (key.shiftKey){
alert("Shift+F9 pressed!");
} else {
alert("F9 pressed without Shift!");
return false;
document.onkeyup = keys;
document.body.focus();
</script>
</body>
</html>
It's possible that a change in Firefox 19 is interfering with the function triggered by the Shift+F9 keyboard shortcut. Is there another way to run it to see whether that might be the case?

• A Mail keyboard shortcut I set sometimes works and sometimes doesn't - why?

Using the keyboard shortcut panel I changed the keyboard shortcut for "Send" to CMD+E.
After quitting and restarting Mail I can see in the menus that this is showing CMD+E now.
Problem is - when composing a message sometimes CMD+E works and the mail gets sent and sometimes I just get a beep and nothing happens.
Why would that be?

My point is that the behavior that motivated your post is not necessarily a bug itself. The bug is somewhere else. The reason sometimes it works as you expect and sometimes it doesn't could very well be that sometimes the other command is enabled (thus causing it to be chosen) and sometimes it isn't (thus causing Send to be chosen).
Actually, I've just tried it, out of curiosity, and the Edit > Find > Use Selection for Find is indeed sometimes enabled and sometimes disabled when a new message is created depending on where the cursor is located, so I maintain that what you call second bug is probably not a bug at all. Rather it's expected behavior resulting from a conflict that you've introduced.
The bug is somewhere else, namely whatever it is that prevents the Keyboard Shortcuts preference pane to realize that there is a conflict and whatever it is that causes the shortcut to disappear from the other command when its menu is displayed. But that's not what is causing the behavior that motivated your question. That behavior is the expected behavior when two commands have the same keyboard shortcut and the one that gets the first chance at handling the command is sometimes enabled and sometimes disabled.
Does it sound like I have it right?
Almost.

• Mail Keyboard Shortcut for Add Hyperlink...

I added Control Option H as a new shortcut for Add Hyperlink in the Mail pull down menu
It showed up in the Keyboard Shortcuts list and also shows correctly in the pull down menu after I quit and re-opened Mail; however when I try the shortcut, nothing happens.
Could it be that I have to take into account pulling down the Edit menu first, to get to the Add Hyperlink command?
And it only works after I create a New Message.
How do I do all this?
Thanks....David

I'm not sure why this keyboard shortcut isn't recognized. In the meantime, you might try a different one.
+These examples worked for me:+
Option + Control + Up Arrow (⌥⌃↑)
Using a function key, F1, F2, F3, etc.
Using a function key with a modifier, e.g., Option + F2 (⌥F2).
Good luck!

• E-mail delete shortcuts?

I'm finding the number of touches slowing me down when I'm deleting e-mails on my new z10. I've been using an iPhone 4 for a while and decided to switch because I'm tired of the unbelievably poor experience I have with iOS devices in a corporate environment - don't get me started on how bad calendar management works on an iOS device!
Anyway, I've ready about how to do multi-selections and then deleting a group of e-mail, but the way I typically process e-mail is to look at the e-mail and then delete it if I don't need to keep it, so multi-select doesn't work so well. The way I'm used to doing this is looking at an e-mail, deleting it and then the e-mail client typically goes to the previous or next e-mail so i can delete the next one.
On the z10, I have to touch the e-mail, then touch the over-flow icon, then touch the delete icon and then it takes me back to the e-mail list where I have to touch the next e-mail, touch the over-flow icon, touch the delete icon, etc..it takes me 3x the number of touches to delete e-mails individually.
Are there any shortcuts to delete an e-mail without using the overflow menu first? If not, there should be! Or at least an option to go to the next email after deleting - then I'd only have 2x the number of touches instead of 3x...!
Thanks.

Best way to delete emails, is to Select and hold an email then select more and select all your emails you want to delete in one shot. Also if you want to delete or mark all emails as read, Click and hold the date above the email, a slider appears on the top right to delete all or mark all read.

• Snowleopard mail keyboard shortcuts

Since I upgraded to SnowLeopard 10.6.8, when composing a message in Mail, the keyboard shortcuts "Command-I" for "Italics" and "Command-B" for "Bold" no longer work. I can get what I want by highlighting a selection, opening the font list, and double-clicking on the font choice. But this is inconvenient at best. Changing "Message Format" to "Rich Text" in Preferences does not solve the problem. Any ideas or fixes?
Thanks.

I'll make an educated hypothesis: perhaps upgrading to 10.6.8 didn't quite 'take' and corrupted your Mail preferences. If that's the case, you could test two possible solutions:
1. Quit Mail and go to ~/Library/Preferences and drag the com.apple.mail.plist file to your Desktop (unless you know all your Mail settings, write them all down first, since you will have to reset them). Then, restart Mail, enter your preferences again and test it several times by composing and sending several messages, Quitting and Restarting between each one. If the problem goes away, then the preferences file was the culprit. If not, then it's something else, so you can try:
2. Download the 10.6.8 Update again, then use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions. Quit all applications, then run the 10.6.8 Update again. Restart your Mac when it's done, Repair Permissions again, then launch Mail and test it to see if the problem goes away.
Post back with your results.

• Mail keyboard shortcuts scroll down message list

Anyone know any good keyboard shortcuts for navigating the message list in Mac Mail?

Use a TAB button to jump between different sections in Mail app. When messages list is highlighted, use UP and DOWN ARROWS to go up and down. If you want to go quickly to the bottom of your list, use FN+RIGHT ARROW, if you want to go quickly to the top of the list use FN+LEFT ARROW.

• Mail App ShortCut "Command + No. 1-8" problem!

Mail works pretty OK but some problems are still there. Half of "Mailbox/Go to" menues are grayed out.
Therefor ShortCuts Command + No. 2,3,6 and 7 are not functional aswell. Anybody with same problem?
Thanks for possible confirmation

command + number options don't appear to work if the destination mailbox is not "visible". that is, when the "to do" and "note" folders are hidden inside the "reminders" section....command+7 and command+8 do not work. however, if you open or reveal the reminders section....they work fine. similarly, the command+2 (outbox) is greyed out if you have no messages pending to be sent.
my beef is that the command+9 option that should take you to the RSS feeds folder doesn't seem to work. anyone know why this is?

• How do you access apple mail on a pc? I am trying to find the answer for my technically challenged Uncle who is going to be traveling next week. I am a PC user and he is a Mac user.

My uncle is across the country and has turned to me for help on accessing his apple mail account on a pc. Is it as simple as having a web address and typing in his user name and password? His email ends with @sbcglobal.net, but both he and his wife can access all their mail on their mac. I have tried going through yahoo with his username and password, but it does not show all the same emails that he can see from his mac.

His email account is with SBC, the easiest way is to go their website to retrieve his email. Here is what I located, I recommend you bookmark it.
If you cannot see all of his emails then he probably has changed a setting in Email tool (Mail on his Mac) to delete mail off of the server. He can check that on his Mac by:
1. Opening Mail
2. Open Mail Preferences (shortcut is Command Key + Spacebar)
3. Click on Accounts tab
4. Click on Advanced tab
5. Set the preference for the box marked "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message."

• Integrating E-Mail into a Forte Application

Hello!
I am working with a group of new Forte developers and we are investigating how we can add internet mail capabilities to a Forte application. Some of the things that we would like to do include:
- the ability to send internet mail from within a window.
- the ability to mail a 'shortcut' to another user so that when they received the shortcut, it would automatically launch the application with the pertinent data loaded. (this may be a stretch of the imagination?!?)
Can someone give me any hints as to the best way to approach either of the above issues?
I have obtained some information about various internet mail controls that can be purchased that will allow a developer to integrate mail into their application - does anyone have any experience with using any 3rd party controls? - or is one even required?
Thank you in advance.

• Command-X option removed from Mail app

Why was the single most useful Mail keyboard shortcut removed in the latest version of Mail. I have used the Command-X shortcut to quickly and PERMANENTLY delete emails from the Inbox for YEARS. This allows me to quickly dispose of mail that I know I will NEVER need to see again.
Why must I be forced to delete the darn thing twice (Inbox then Trash) to clear it from my life?
Removing this feature was a really, really, really BAD idea!!!
Please, please, please put this function back in the next update.

If you want help, you need to be nicer.
I'll be nice to you and in turn, your next response will be cordial as well.
I'm here on the forums to help solve problems and explain how and why Apple does the things they do.
I ask questions and provide tips of solutions that will work to help resolve the issue.
Please note, A response of these suggestions don't apply is not productive for either of us.
If it's not a viable solution, I need to know why so that I can find an alternative instead.
Also, if it's something that can't be resolved, send feedback to Apple accordingly, wait for the next update to see if anything gets fixed.
Step 1. We need to start with how things were designed to work.
Command + X is a cut operation, this is standard to move things from point A to B, in mail it was between mailboxes. That is it's only function, I have accidentally destroyed a few emails because I hit this keybind by accident. Since Apple has removed it, I can understand why.
Also, we don't have a crystal ball to look at your setup, so you can't say I'm being shortsighted if you haven't mentioned the other systems and platforms you access your email on. For syncing of trashed messages, either get a bigger quota or pick a primary workstation to hold the trash locally off the mail server.
Yes, messages get deleted accidentally, yes its good to review the trashed messages before deletion, but if you have an inkling of a hint of a thought that you want to keep the message, put it in a folder that will sync with the other devices, not the trash.
To address this-
You are audacious to state that people are doing things wrong and should do them your way. How can you say why the feature was put there in the fist place did you write Mail.app??
My way? I'm explaining how Apple designed it and what the requested function does.
That was not polite and I'm trying to understand/help you find a solution that works.
To start, I recommend inquiring about a bigger email quota so that you have a larger buffer before deletion.
Next, I recommend trying Office 2016 to see if it suits your need.
Last, see about downloading the PDF documents and saving them to your computer.
Something to take note of, if Mail doesn't work for your needs, have you tried a different email application?
There are many options like Mailbox, Sparrow, Thunderbird, and Outlook 2016.
Hate to sound like a broken record, but have you investigated the options I've suggested?
You may want to see if the mailing lists have PDF downloads you can access on-demand when you're ready to review them.
I recommend this as you can store those files on your computer/server thus taking the stress off your email to handle large attachments.
I would like to have an answer so I can move on to the next steps in troubleshooting.

• OPEN LETTER TO NOKIA: Fix Bugs Now or We're Ditchi...

Dear Nokia
After many years struggling with Windows Mobile's constant bugs that Microsoft are reknowned for, I finally bit the bullet and bought an E71 made by the king of mobile phone manufacturers... or so I thought... Nokia.
I have been utterly astonished and devastated by the number of extremely obvious bugs with this device and am shocked beyond belief that Nokia is allowing itself to tarnish its own previously good brand image by putting out untested phones with software that seems to have been written by a 12 year old boy as his first project.
I have tried posting the issues on these groups, but no solution. 'Wait for a firmware update', or 'hard reset your phone and lose all your hours worth of customisations', seem to be the standard replies. I have emailed your support, who cannot even read and send irrelevant replies. It is no wonder the bugs do not make it past them and get forwarded to you, and therefore no wonder you are not fixing them.
Worse still some of these bugs go back to phones before the Eseries according to my Google searches. You have knowingly carried forward bugs from old phones to new flagship ones. It is utterly unbelievable.
This is an open letter asking you to resolve the following bugs within 30 days via a Firmware update for the E71, or I will be returning my Nokia E71 under the UK Sale of Goods Act 1979 as it is "not fit for the intended purpose" (such as making a simple Bluetooth call or using WiFi), and "not of satisfactory quality". I urge other users to also return their Nokias if they are forced to endure such bugs beyond 30 days of this notice.
Here are the bugs I am experiencing, which I have seen multiple other users report, and I am sure other users will reply to my open letter confirming they will also be abandoning the Nokia brand in favour of something more reliable.
1) Bluetooth Disconnects - see http://tinyurl.com/3q9hmk
Excerpt: "My headset (Plantronics Voyager 510) disconnects every 10 seconds, then reconnects, then disconnects, then... I can leave them just inches from each other and they'll go through this strange dance.
Furthermore you cannot answer an Internet VoIP call using the headset's answer button, but CAN answer a cell call.
Then I get in my car (JVC KD-BT1) and make a call, and 2 minutes into every call the Bluetooth connection is dropped and the call transfers to the handset. Very dangerous."
2) WLAN Ghost Access Points and clunky behaviour
The WiFi integration is a mess. There are so many different ways to connect, via WLAN scanner, via Tools, via Internet Phone, and the outcome is that even though you are only within one access point, multiple access points get created. E.g. if I connect to 'WiFi' and define an access point, if I later connect via a different route, I get a ghost access point 'WiFi(01)'. Do this for a week or so at home and you end up with these access points:
WiFi
WiFi(01)
WiFi(02)
WiFi(03) and so on...
Try to delete one of them, and all 4 disappear. Experiment too much further and try to tidy up, and suddenly anything to do with WLAN access slows the phone down 1000%:
- Click WLAN Scan and the Home Screen freezes for 3 minutes
- Try to enter Internet Phone and the status bar freezes
- Try to connect to Email and it fails to ask for an access point and just gives up
Then you have to work out how to restore WiFi(01)... etc. to how they were before, and only then does the freezing stop.
Hard reset is not a solution - it just happens again before long. I have better things to do with my life than constantly configure my phone settings after each hard reset.
3) View Interrupted Downloads, if only I could - see http://tinyurl.com/6jeuvt
After a failed download, every time I reboot the phone or close Web, the phone asks 'View interrupted downloads?'. If I click yes, it just takes me to the Bookmarks. There is no 'Downloads' option in Web's Options menu in the E71. It is impossible to make this annoying popup go away. Unless you hard reset and lose all your settings and data.
4) A2DP is always on - see http://tinyurl.com/5nat3r
Excerpt: "I get in the car and the phone connects to my JVC KD-BT5 stereo. All audio is again routed through the stereo's A2DP source. But if I listen to the radio, I don't hear the phone audio, and again miss out on SMS alerts and more!
This is the only A2DP phone I know that doesn't let you choose whether each Bluetooth headset is also a 'Bluetooth Audio Device'! Even Windows Mobile had a checkbox for that!!"
5) Diabolical Camera Quality
The camera quality is appalling. The amount of grain must be a bug. Nokia will lose sales on this compared to the Blackberry Bold which has a lower-res yet better quality camera. Also AutoFocus should be Auto (!) not require pressing the 't' key.
When I try to find a repair centre at http://www.apps.nokia.co.uk/clubnokiaservice/ your website is down. Even the link to find a solution is bugged!
I am amazed that some of these bugs relate to older Nokia phones like no. 3 and that a customer has to go to these lengths to try to get Nokia's programmers' attention.
If other users agree, they will reply here and let Nokia know.
Yours frustratedly,
A new (soon to be ex-) Nokia customer
Message Edited by nokkyear on 13-Sep-2008 05:22 PM

I have no comments regarding the above issues, but have a few of my own. I know some 'features' with some of the phones are hard to distinguish from 'bugs', so I'll just list a few glitches I feel are obvious bugs. My phone is the Finnish version of E71-1.
The e-mail hardware shortcut button on my E71-1 is giving me the "Feature not available. Reverting to default setting" error if the button is set to open up the Create New E-mail screen when held down for a second or two. All other settings that can be set-up in the Mode Settings work normally. Note that the default action *is* to open up the Create New E-mail screen when the button is held down. Hard reset doesn't help.
In the Gallery if I rotate a picture that I've for example shot in portrait orientation (E71 has a landscape screen), the new orientation doesn't get saved. After exiting the image viewer the image has reverted to it's original orientation. As-is, the feature doesn't make sense to me at the moment. This is quite an old 'feature' dating back to the E61 at least.
Connecting my Motorola HT820 A2DP-compatible stereo headset to my E71 is giving me grief. The audio keeps cutting off even though I keep my cellphone in my shirt pocket. To be exact, for some peculiar reason the phone either pauses the music or goes fast forward if I have my hand between the headset's receiver and the phone. After doing so, occasionally the pitch of the music has hightened, like an LP playing too fast on the turntable. Listening to music while keeping the phone at the opposite side of my body to the bluetooth headset is nearly impossible, because my own body mass is apparently enough to block the signal (I'm 80kg, 185cm). I've had no problems with connecting to other A2DP media players (e.g. Palm TX PDA, Bluetooth 1.2) to my headset.
The video camera's zoom is still jerky (a bug with my ex-E61i) and the jerkiness gets recorded to the video file. Last time I tried recording video I found out that the phone had lost about one minute from the beginning of the recording. I'm getting a feeling that the E71 is underpowered for these kinds of tasks - but is it really?
I have some old programs and themes that I used in my previous phone the E61i in my 2GB memory card. After inserting the memory card to my new E71 and starting the phone up, it tries to install the applications to the new system. The installing fails, but this isn't really the problem. The problem is that the phone suggests installing all the remaining "untrusted" programs manually, and even after successfully doing just that, the phone still attempts to install the new software after every single reset. To "clean up" the memory card of the remnant software and files that cause this behavior I had to search around the net for in-depth knowledge about the Symbian filesystem and folder structure. Asking the help desk about the problem only results to such answers as: "Do a hard reset." "Don't fiddle with the memory card folders." "Format the memory card and your phone."
All I need is the phone to tell which files are causing the problems, or the ability to simply turn off the automatic installer at startup. The worst kind of error messages are the kinds that don't help at all.

• [Forum FAQ] Customize the Navigation Bar in Outlook 2013

In Outlook 2013, the Navigation Bar is a gray bar which lists commands at the bottom of the Outlook window that enable you to quickly navigate to Mail, Calendar, People, and Tasks.
You can change the Navigation Bar settings for a single user by clicking
… and then Navigation Options. For more information, please refer:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/change-what-appears-on-the-navigation-bar-HA102838974.aspx
However, if you want to change the Navigation Bar settings for all users in your organization, you’ll need to modify the registry.
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that
you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756.
To modify the Compact view
To maximize the vertical height of the Outlook window you can use Compact Navigation. We can change the setting by creating the
ABCompact registry key. To do this, please follow the steps:
1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type regedit
and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
2. Locate the following registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options
3. Right-click on the Options folder and select NEW > KEY, name it
WunderBar.
4. Select the WunderBar key, right-click on it and select
NEW > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it ABCompact.
Value name: ABCompact
Value type: DWORD (32-bit)
Value: 1 to tick the Compact Navigation;
0 to untick it.
5. Restart Outlook to make the change.
To modify the Maximum number of visible items
To change how many views appear on the Navigation Bar, you need to change the number for Maximum number of visible items by modifying the
NumBigModulesAB registry key.
Value path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
Value name: NumBigModulesAB
Value type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1-8
The key doesn’t exist by default. When the value is set to 1, only
Mail will appear on the Navigation Bar. If the value is set to
8, all views will appear.
To modify which view is turned on or off
You can also turn one or more views off from the Navigation Bar. This is controlled by a registry string named
ModuleVisible15.
Value path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
Value name: ModuleVisible15
Value type: REG_SZ
Value: 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,0,0
By default, the string value is set to 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,0,0.
1 means the view is turned on while 0 means the view is turned off. Moreover, the value correspond one-to-one with the views, for example, the first “1” correspond to
Mail, and the second “1” correspond to
Calendar… By default, the eighth and ninth view is turned off. The eighth is
Journal and I have no idea what the ninth number stands for. You can open Journal by pressing Ctrl+8, but if you want it to appear on Navigation Bar, you can change the eighth “0” to “1”.
To modify the view order
If you want to switch the positions of Mail and Calendar, you’ll need to modify the
ModuleOrderAB string.
Value path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
Value name: ModuleOrderAB
Value type: REG_SZ
Value: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
The default order for the Navigation Bar is:
Mail Calendar People Tasks Notes Folders Shortcuts
Journal
In the registry string there are 9 numbers (1~9), let’s just ignore 9. So, there are 8 numbers left and each number has some relationships to each Navigation item.
Here is the logic:
There are 8 Navigation Options. Let’s say ‘Mail’ is Nav1, Calendar is Nav2, People is Nav3, …, Shortcut is the Nav7 and Journal is Nav8.
Meanwhile, there are 8 positions to put those 8 Navigation items, we name them
position1 to position8, from left to right.
For example, CALENDAR TASKS PEOPLE FOLDERS MAIL NOTES SHORTCUTS
Journal
ModuleOrderAB=    5
1              3
2              6
4
7
8
The number “5” is in the first position of the ModuleOrderAB string and it takes
position1. The default navigation option for position1 is
Mail.
So, “5” means put Nav1 (Mail) on position5.
“1” is on position2, default navigation item on
position2 is Calendar. It means put Calendar on
position1.
So, “3” means put People on position3; “2” means put
Task on position2… and so on.

There isn't a built in way to do that since all the navigation toolbars are on one toolbar.
You can restore this functionality by installing the Classic Theme Restorer add-on

• Lightroom email

I can not get the first spet to work:In Windows Explorer or the Finder, create a shortcut or alias to your e-mail application
It looks real easy for Mac, but I can't find or create a short or alias. Any suggestions?
To set up Photoshop Lightroom to e-mail photos, perform these steps:
In Windows Explorer or the Finder, create a shortcut or alias to your e-mail application.
Open Photoshop Lightroom and select the Library module.
Click Export.
Select Go To Export Actions Folder Now from the Post-processing After Export pop-up menu.
Drag the e-mail application shortcut or alias to the Export Actions folder.
Close the Explorer or Finder window.
Click Cancel to close the Export dialog box.
Click Export again.
Choose the appropriate Image Settings to constrain your e-mailed images.For example, you'll probably want to choose 72 pixels per inch as your resolution and constrain the maximum size of the image.
Choose your e-mail alias from the Post-processing After Export pop-up menu.
Choose Save As New Preset from the Preset pop-up menu. Name the preset. Click Create. Click Cancel in the Export dialog box. Your settings will still be saved

I'm sorry. I misread your post and thought you were asking about Mac. On Windows, navigate to your email application (usually in the Program Files folder). Right-click on it to bring up the contextual menu. On that menu select Create Shortcut. Once the shortcut has been created then you can drag and drop it to the folder you need.
