Mail thinks this message is junk mail

Mail thinks an email from the itunes store is junk. It simply states what I have purchased. The email address is [email protected] I find this quite amusing! Hopefully apple fixes this

Hello dw:
Welcome to Apple discussions.
If that happens again, move the message to the inbox.

  • Mail thinks the messages I send are Junk?

I tried to open a message I send in Mail only to find the following message:
"The message from James Hurley <[email protected]> concerning “MyMessage” has not been downloaded from the server. You need to take this account online in order to download it."
When I did a search for a key word I knew to be in the message, the message was found but Mail said: "Mail thinks this message is Junk Mail."
It's one thing for the filter to judge incoming mail as junk, but quite another to judge my outgoing mail as junk. I'll be the judge of that, thank you very much.
I did get a response to the message I sent, so it did go out.
    What gives with Mail?
    Jim

Have you made any changes to the junk filter in Preferences > Junk Mail > Advanced? You may be able to fix the issue of sent messages being marked as junk as follows:
    1. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail, disable junk mail filtering, then enable it again. This resets the rule that governs what the junk filter does.
    2. Choose either Training or Automatic mode (it doesn’t matter) and leave the other options checked. Click Advanced to see how the junk filter rule is defined now if you want, but don’t touch anything there.
    3. Reset the junk filter database (Preferences > Junk Mail > Reset).
As to the “You need to take this account online in order to download it” error message, is only this message that has this problem? What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? If IMAP or .Mac, what are your Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors > Sent settings?
BTW, posting real email addresses in a publicly accessible forum such as this is a bad idea. Posting an email address using placeholders (e.g. [email protected]) is equally informative and keeps the real address undisclosed.

  • I get junk mail on my iPad that states "this message has no content".  If I click on it my mail freezes up and after some time my mail program works again.  I use a .mac address.  Anyone have similar issues?

I get junk mail on my iPad that states "this message has no content". If I try to delete it or click on it my .mac mail freezes up and it takes some time for my mail program to continue.  Has anyone else had this issue?  Ideas for resolution?

Yeah, I've seen it from iOS 7 to the present. It appears to be a network issue, as the Mail app is trying to grab the information to display the first few lines in the abbreviated display. I haven't had mine freeze though. When I click on it, it will simply show a blank message. Now I can quit the app and later reload the app, and "sometimes" the contents come back right away. In other instances, not right away, but eventually.
You might try quitting all the apps, then going to the Settings app to Reset and reset your Network Settings. The iPad will reboot. Try it again after that.

  • My Hotmail is marking certain messages as Junk; these messages do not appear in my Mac Mail Junk folder. How can I rectify this?

I am using Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.2) on my MacBook (mid-2009); Mail version 6.1 (1498).
My Junk Mail permissions are as follows:
    - Enable junk mail filering
    - When junk mail arrives: Move it to the Junk mailbox
    - The following types of messages are exempt from junk mail filtering: Sender of messafe is in my Contacts and my Previous Recipients, Message is addressed using my full name
    - Trust junk mail headers in messages
My junk messages are never automatically deleted
My incoming mail server is pop3.live.com
I do not know where to find the junk mail settings on the hotmail website.
How do I make sure I'm not missing reading my junk when I use Mac Mail?
Many thanks for your help in advance.

Part of training the junk filter is also to mark good messages 'As Not Junk'.

  • Why does Mail mark all my outgoing messages as "junk?"

I recently upgraded from OS 10.4.4 to 10.5.5 on both my iMac and PowerBook & now Mail marks all my outgoing messages as "Junk."
I reset my junk mail preferences--and manually marked all my outgoing messages as "Not Junk Mail"--but nothing changed.
Is anyone else having the same problem?
    Can anyone offer a solution?
Does anyone else think it's strange that this is even possible? Shouldn't administrators' messages always be marked "Not Junk Mail" by default?
    Help!!!

Mac OS X 10.5.5? Wow! I thought it would be 1 year or so until Mac OS X 10.5 ships and you've already installed its .5 revision! What kind of Developer Program are you a member of?
    Sorry, couldn't resist!
Now, seriously, you're certainly not alone. I've seen quite a few threads about this very same issue here. Just search for "junk" and "sent" in this forum:

Me too (with Thunderbird). EXCEPT it reads
Requested action not taken; This account is currently blocked from sending messages. If you don't think you've violated the Windows Live Terms of Use, please contact customer support...
Occasionally the mail "sends", but it is unpredictable. Tech Support at Qwest (for q.com under Windows Live) does not find a problem at their end.
More suspiciously, the same account accessed from my Mac does not seem to exhibit this problem. Have reloaded T'bird. Recurred again.

  • Mail is marking my "Sent" messages as Junk

    Hi--
I've been noticing strange behavior by my junk mail system lately. First it was junking almost everything that came in without telling me.
Now it has taken to marking all my sent messages as junk.
    Anybody have a clue?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi Tim.
This kind of problems are caused by some corruption in one or more of the files used by the junk filter. Try this first:
    1. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail and disable junk mail filtering.
    2. Quit Mail, then open it again.
    3. Go to Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk mail filtering, and configure it however you wish.
    4. Reset the junk filter database (Preferences > Junk Mail > Reset).

  • Hi  i'm trying  to delete my bulk mail messages but it keep telling me this message"The IMAP command "DELETE" failed with server error: DELETE failed - Mailbox is reserved "

Hi  i'm trying  to delete my bulk mail messages but it keep telling me this message"The IMAP command “DELETE” failed with server error: DELETE failed - Mailbox is reserved " is there any way to   delete of stop messages from coming into it ??
    thanks

Sounds like the mail server thinks you are asking to delete the bulk-mail mailbox instead of some/all of the messages within it.
How are you trying to delete your bulk mail messages? That is, what are you doing, step by step, up to the error message.
What you should probably be doing is selecting the bulk mail mailbox, selecting one of more messages inside it, then hitting the "delete" key.

lots of people seem to be havgin a problem sending email from iCloud webmail.
does your email address have uppercase characters in it?
if so, try creating an alias in lowercase (go to preferences in iCloud webmail and select 'accounts') and see if email sends okay from that

You turn private browsing off on the Safari page. Tap the + sign in the upper right corner, then tap private in the lower left corner. You know you're in private when the top of the screen is dark.

  • "Cannot verify server identity" iPhone 4S on home wifi. I get this message on mail, safari, iCloud...

For the past few days every time my iPhone needs to load something, it will take a ridiculously long time to load if it loads at all. This includes loading email, iCloud settings, iTunes, safari pages, even apps that need an Internet connection. Starting this morning I get these errors. I get this error when I check my mail, try to surf on Safari, check my iCloud settings or open my Facebook app. When I open iTunes I get this message: "The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be 'itunes.apple.com' which could put your confidential information at risk."
I have tried shutting down my phone and turning it back on. I have also tried resetting all network settings.
I have switched to 3G and get the same above message from iTunes.
The 'cannot verify...' message has disappeared though. Multiple pages in Safari load just fine. I open Mail and get this message: 'cannot load mail, connection to the server failed.' My Facebook app will load and load and will finally fail to update content. iCloud will not connect and show another 'verification failed' message.
My iPhone wouldn't even let me use this site to submit the question. So I am using my iPad 2 running iOS 6.1.3 and everything is just fine. Everything that is not working on my phone is working on the iPad just fine.
(an additional note: I have a reminder with geo-fence set a mile away from my current location and it will periodically go off even though my location hasn't moved in hours... Do not know if this is related or not but it started happening at the same time)

I am having the same problem: I am getting several times a day on my iPad (3rd generation) and my iPhone 4S the messages:
    Cannot Verify Server Identity
The identity of "webdav.facebook.com" cannot be verified by Facebook.
Review the certificate details to continue.
    Every time, I choose cancel.
I don't know, what triggers this message (I am not actively using Facebook or any app that would try to access Facebook at the time when this failure messages happen.
I am using the newest iOS version (8.1.3).
    I am living in China.
I don't get the error messages when I am connected via a VPN.
So far that I remember - the problems started somewhere at the beginning of 2015.
The 'Not Trusted' Certificates are usually never the same. I did had - among others -:
    *.littletonpublicschools.net.
    lds140.securednshost.com
    auvisa.com
    langel.jp
    www.colesfinancialservices.com.au
    *wpengine.com and even
    localhost
What can be done? It's really annoying.
