Maintain Web Server  settings in SWu3

Hi all,
We are working on SRM 7.1.
Can someone pls explain me the use of the node"Maintain Web Server " in SWU3  transaction?
If we are using UWL in Portal to execute the work items,do we need to activate this setting in SWU3?
Pls advise.

Hello,
As you use EP, there is no use to maintain Web Server.
Nevertheless, you have to maintain portal information in SRM:

  • How can I reset my web server settings to factory default without reinstalling the operating system?

I have a MacBook Air that has been upgraded over time from OS to OS. I'm currently running Yosemite.
I don't have any issues with the computer, it is running fine. Over the years, however, I've tinkered around with the server in different ways (the apache and php that shipped with OS X, MAMP, and with NGINX) and when I went to get back into some development it seems as though there's some conflicts.
What I'd love to do (assuming it is possible) is reset all of the web server's factory settings so I can just move forward from that point (Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc.).
I saw there was a terminal command for OS X Server that allows you to reset all of the server settings to how it came from the factory.
Is there a similar command that works for non-OS X Server or a utility that can restore the web server settings?

there probably is a way, but the success rate would be fairly low. you say you don't want to reinstall the OS, why? you know that reinstalling it keeps all your files and settings as they are, while resetting system files? (OS X Mavericks: Reinstall OS X)

  • Maintaining WebAS Settings from Java side

    Hi there
Where are the WebAS ABAP settings maintained from a JAVA point of view?
I know an RFC destination is configured in SM59 which allows ABAP to communicate with JAVA, but where / how on the J2EE Engine (Visual Administrator ??) are the WebAS ABAP settings maintained.
I get an error when opening the support desk tool, which says the WebAS Settings could not be retrieved. In addition, when clicking on the WebAS ABAP Settings tab, nothing is returned, which makes me think that there is some setting in Visual Administrator missing.
    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
You can configure that through Visual Administrator. I am not sure which particular setting are you referring to but here's a list of frequently done activities. Do let us know what exactly are you trying to achieve, so that we can have a clear idea.
<i><b>Create and Maintain RFC destination on J2EE</b></i>
    <b>Step 1</b>
    1) Start SAP J2EE Engine Administrator with %INSTALLATION_ROOT%\admin\go.bat
    2. Connect to the Enterprise Portal server (usually default)
    3. Choose <SID>/Server<…>/Services/JCo RFC Provider in tree
    4. Maintain RFC Destination
    - Program ID: <PORTAL_HOSTNAME>_PORTAL
    - Gateway host: <GATEWAY_HOST>
    - Gateway service: sapgw<SYSTEM_NUMBER>
    - Number of processes (1..20): 20
    - Application server host: see Gateway host
    - System number: <SYSTEM_NUMBER>
    - Client: <System_CLIENT>
    - Language: EN
    - User: <User> (User in Backend SAP System)
    - Password: <PASSWORD>
    5. Copy the RFC destination to the available RFC destinations with the button Set
    6. If not already running, start the RFC server with the button Start. To validate J2EE configuration you must first complete step 2
    <b>Step 2</b>
    1. The maintenance of an RFC destination with the transaction Display and maintain RFC destination (transaction code SM59) is required.
    2. Before you create a RFC destination in the SAP Backend system, you have to create the RFC destination in the J2EE engine (see step 1)
    3. Alternatively, this RFC destination can be defined with the customizing activity Maintain Portal server settings for EP 6.0 in table RSPOR_T_PORTAL. This RFC destination will be classified as a connected Portal
    4. The RFC destination is used for the communication from the SAP Backend System to the SAP Enterprise Portal
    <b>(A) Name of RFC destination</b>
    - Choose the name of the RFC destination for an SAP Enterprise Portal
    - SAP recommends SAP_EP as a name for the RFC destination to the connected Portal
    <b>(B) Connection Type</b>
    - Choose T for TCP/IP connection as the connection type
    <b>(C) Description of RFC destination</b>
The Description of the RFC destination can be maintained language-dependent
    (D) Activation Type
    - Choose Registered Server Program as activation type Registered Server Program
    - The server program is set up under Program ID on the J2EE engine (see step 1)
    - The recommended naming convention is <PORTAL_HOSTNAME>_PORTAL
    <i>Gateway Options</i>
    - Enter the Gateway Host and Gateway Service under Gateway Options that are used by the J2EE engine to communicate with the SAP system
    - The Gateway Host is an application server of the SAP system
    - The Gateway Service can be set generically as sapgw<SYSTEM_NUMBER>
    - The gateway parameters can be retrieved via the Gateway Monitor transaction (transaction code SMGW) with Jump Parameter Display.
Check: If the RFC destination is maintained on both sides (J2EE engine and SAP system), the connection can be checked with the button Test connection in
    transaction SM59
<i><b>Import Certificate from SAP Backend System to Portal</b></i>
Let me know if you need any clarification on this.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Sunil

  • Error in Maintaining Portal Server setting in portal

    Hi all,
Here I am facing an issue in BI and portal connectivity:
Status 3: Maintain Portal Server Settings for Portal
URL Prefix (ABAP) must have domain (profile parameter icm/host_name_full)
Domain of URL Prefix (ABAP) and URL Prefix (Portal) must be identical
The overview of RSPOR_SETUP shows that the comparison of domains on abap and portal is not correct:
Checks for Step 3 - Maintain Portal Server Settings for Portal
    1. Compare Domains of URL Prefixes (ABAP and Portal)
Domain of URL Prefix (ABAP):   bcs
Domain of URL Prefix (Portal): bi.com
We have been maintaining the FQDN in host file as bcs.bi.com and it pings successfully. Profile parameter icm/host_name_full is set with subsequent system restart.
As of table RSPOR_T_PORTAL the URL is already stated as http://bcs.bi.com:50000.
Please advise how to fix this error.
    Kind regards.

    Hi Saurabh,
Sorry for late response. Following is the error message from desktopsupport tool.

It is here at this point when I followed the note 983683, logged on to portal with j2ee_admin, followed the path to add necessary permission i.e. group 'Everyone', only to find that on permissions page both "Add" and "Remove" functions (buttons) are grayed out (disabled).
My guess is perhaps it's due to j2ee_admin missing permission. Please suggest how to enable "Add"/"Remove" functions on System Configuration>Permission>Portal Content>Systemlandscape>open permission page.

  • Web server setup for Roku XDS connection?

Looking for instructions for proper web server settings in OS 10.6, as it relates to a Roku XDS digital media player using the Roksbox "channel" (roksbox.com).
The Roksbox site references a "How To" from macinstruct.com (http://www.macinstruct.com/node/112) on how to set up the web server, but it appears to be based on an older version of Mac OS.
It's simple enough to turn on the web server, but I am not clear on how to configure it, along with the firewall and other security settings, such that I won't be vulnerable to attacks from outside my network.
The goal is to be able to get media content from my Mac Pro to play on the Roku, using my existing (wired) network and the Roksbox channel.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Currently we only officially support ADF 11g deployment to WebLogic.
There is at least one report of someone running this on Tomcat here:
    JDev 11.1.1.1.0 + ADF+ BC4J application on Tomcat6
Note that this will require you to have an ADF runtime license though.

  • Which web server is used for openHAB2?

I've recently set up IDE for openHAB2 and built it successfully.
openHAB dashboard & paper UI are web application.
But I can't find any web server settings in openHAB project.
Which web server is used for them?
Is it possible to add java servlet for my custom REST service?

This is probably rather a question for the openHAB 2 mailing list. But to answer: Jetty is used in openHAB 2 as you can see here https://github.com/openhab/openhab2/blob/master/products/org.openhab.product.runtime/org.openhab.runtime.product.product#L57.
And yes, you can certainly add custom REST endpoints. You should do this as it is done with the default REST endpoints like https://github.com/eclipse/smarthome/blob/master/bundles/io/org.eclipse.smarthome.io.rest.core/src/main/java/org/eclipse/smarthome/io/rest/core/binding/BindingResource.java.

  • Setup Team Foundation Server - Team Site Collection - SharePoint Web Application Settings failed with error TF205014, TF250025

    Hi
I have TFS server installed and working with other SharePoint farm.  (TFS installed,  SharePoint extension installed and Granted Access for TFS.
When Setup TFS - SharePoint Web Application Settings,  It ask for the three values:
    Web Application URL:
    Central Administration URL:
Default Location of team project collection sites:
What notice about the TFS sites that are working is that they are Path Based Site Collection.  Created with SharePoint Web Application managed path (like
http://spserver/sites/tfs_site1) and so it easy to see it will work.
    Web Application URL:  http://spserver
    CA URL :   http://spserver:portnumber
Default Location :  Sites or any managed path
We start using Host Name Site Collection (HNSC) to get the benefit of multiple unique site name without having multiple web application for each.  Work great but when we tried to setup and extend TFS service on the HNSC, we could
not get them to work and got errors when trying different variation of path URL.
After doing lot of searching on this, I came up pretty empty and I don't know if that is possible so my question is Have anyone able to setup TFS to work with SharePoint 2013 Host Name Site Collection?
If you have, a simple yes will be great but please share or even if anyone think it is possible or not possible, please share too.
Thanks in advance for any comment / suggestion.
    Swanl

    Hi  Swanl,
I’m afraid that we cannot setup TFS to work  with SharePoint 2013 Host Name Site Collection.
Also you can  initial a new thread in Visual Studio Team Foundation Server forums:
Team Foundation Server – General: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=tfsgeneral
More experts for Team Foundation Server will assist you, then you will get more information relation to your issue.
For integrating SharePoint 2013 with Team Foundation Server 2013 you can have a look at the following blog:

  • HP LaserJet Professional P1606dn Embedded Web Server Admin Settings

    Hello,
I need help with my HP Laserjet Professional p1606dn. We have about 13 of these machines
I can access the HP Embedded Web Server by putting in the IP address into a web browser.
I have all of the printers set with a static IP address.
I have set a password in the HP Embedded Web server so network information can not be changed.
My problem is  the Print Info Pages section.
Where i can just click Print to print a Print Configuration Page and Print Supplies page.
I want to disable that feature.
I have students getting into the Hp Embedded Web Server and are repeatedly hitting the print button and I'm getting hundreds of Print Configuration Page and or Print Supplies page.
You do not need a password to use this functionality.
I want to have these printers setup that if they do not know the Admin password to get into the Web Server they can not use any of the Web Server functions.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Your usb connection may have gone bad.  Try another usb port on the computer.  Just connecting the printer to a different usb port should say new hardware found.  If it does not then the port on the printer has gone bad.  All is not lost.  This model is the N model which means it also has a network interface.  You could try connecting the printer to your router or switch with a rj45 cable and after turning the printer on and it comes to ready, wait about 2 minutes and then print the same test page which should give you the network settings if it found any.  Use those settings to setup the printer as a local tcp/ip printer.

  • Server Settings on I Web

Please, I cannot publish my IWeb site to the new server unless I learn how to change my user name to the name that they have on the account.  How do I change my user name on the server settings?

You change it where you entered it the first time.
In iWeb 3.0.4 select the Sitename.
With iWeb  2.0.4 you publish to a folder and upload with an FTP app. Change the settings there.
    Servername
    Username
    Password
    Path
    Webaddress (URL)
    You settings are probably different.

  • Settings for jnlp files in Web Server 6.0

What it should be in the classpath to make IPlanet Web Server 6.0 work with jnlp files? MIME type for jnlp has been set, but IPlanet just displays jnlp as an xml file on the client machine. Client machine has WebStart installed, and everything works with Tomcat web server.

Hello, I am having the same problem, a lot later. Did you ever solve this issue? I set the mime.types file, but when I add a path to the web-apps.xml file, it no longer will load jnlp files in the browser, it just displays the text.
I tried setting mime-mapping in the web.xml, but it has not effect in iPlanet, but works in Tomcat. Any one have ideas?

  • "Configure Web Server" missing

    Hi,
I'm doing a fresh install of EPM 11.1.2 on a new server.
First time I see this, in the configuration tool, I don't have the "Configure Web Server".
    Under foundation I have
    - Comon Settings
    - Configure Database
    - Configure Local Address for Web Applications
    - Configure Oracle Configuration Manager
    - Deploy to Application Server
    - Performance Management Architect
    - Calculation Manage
I shoud have Configure Web Server in the list...
Anyone saw this before ? Any suggestion ?
    Thanks for your help,
    Cyril

You need to get a "static" IP address from your ISP. They can also provide you with DNS addresses. Then you need to link the DNS addresses to your .com domain name by logging onto the management page of wherever you registered the domain name. There are workarounds but none of this is really as simple as it sounds. Also, by attempting to host your own website, you are opening yourself up to a lot of potential security risks not to mention major administrative hassles. In addition, your site is going to be s....l....o....w because you are not going to have the bandwidth necessary to support this kind if traffic. It would be much better for you to set up your site on a paid hosting service. There are some really good ones that are very inexpensive like SiteGround which will also maintain the mail servers you will need to have your "own" e-mail address ([email protected]). The Apache web server included with OSX is the real thing but it's much more useful for locally testing your web site or for hosting a site on a local network.

  • Supporting web portlets on multi-web server setup

We are in the process of setting up a system that will have 2 web servers plus a system for the portal and its backend DB. (ie, the 2 web servers will have a load balancer in front of them to spread the work.)
My question is: how do I support our web portlets that allow the users to customize them? These portlets use the File Customization Manager and so the customization settings are manintained in files on the web server.
Since the load balancer may send a user to either of the web servers, how do you suggest I best maintain the customization settings? Use a shared file system? Don't use a shared file sys, but sync up the customization dat files some other way? Re-write all of the web portlets to use the DB to maintain the customization data?
Thanks for any suggestions or help for this!
    Brian Downs

The best way to handle this would be to use the DB Customization Manager and store the customizations in the database. You could also explore the NFS/shared file system route, but we have run into significant performance issues with NFS in the past.

    Diagnosis
The transaction that you wish to start can only be started in the Web browser. It does not make sense to start the transaction from the Easy Access Menu because the transaction was specifically designed to be used in the browser.

Table TWPURLSVR should have entries for the / SRM server line as well as gui and web server.
Could you please review again the following steps ?
Did you check that ICM was working correctly (TA SMICM) ?
    1-Activate the necessary ICF services
With transaction SICF and locate the
    services by path
