Major differences between CS 4 and 5.5? Need to know for manual selection

I am trying to get my library to bring in a book or two on Creative Suites, but they tell me they cannot locate any new books. They have a few titles on CS 4. Now I am trying to learn the very basics, so I am wondering if 4 and 5.5 are similar enough that those older books would help in the fundamentals. Any insight would be appreciated.

Not sure what you are asking here... Per se there is no all out book that can cover everything in all of the programs and you really should not have any problems of finding the current CS 5.5 editions of most books like the Meyer's "Creating Motion Graphics" for After Effects. Aside from that of course there is no harm in buying books on CS4 at reasonable prices - most programs do not change that radically. It's only that specific features have not been available in older versions and thus naturalyl do not appear in there...

  • What are the major differences between UCCX v7 and v8.0.2

Does anyone know of a matrix or document which shows the major differences between UCCX v7 and v8.0.2?
I have looked high and low, even searched this forum, but have not found anything.
I've even looked at release notes in 8.0.2 but couldn't see anywhere that states the changes.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi,
I have awarded you both with the 'correct answer'.
I went through, painstakingly, the documents I was linked to above and compared.
In the end the major differences are pretty much what you have outlined here - which is exactly what I wanted.
    Thank you both very much.

  • What are the major differences between the air and the pro

what are the major differences between the air and the pro?

In a nutshell, the Air is a lightened, more compact system than the 13" Pro counterpart. The Air loses some hardware features to accommodate the physical downsizing.
    No FireWire port
    No built-in optical drive
A lesser performing CPU to retain battery charge life, and adequate cooling.
    No Ethernet port
    No Kensington lock slot
The Air does have a superior native resolution at 1440 x 900, and a standard SSD that does make up alot of the speed differential, and then some. Of course, the 13" Pro can be optionally configured with an SSD.
You buy the Air if the physical size an weight savings are demonstrably more important than the features lost.

What are the major differences between the T5 and the T5i?

    Hey everyone!
I just wanted to step in (which is not normal) to say something that most people overlook is that the EOS Rebel T5i has a self-cleaning sensor where the EOS Rebel T5 does NOT; also, the T5i can use an IR Remote (like the RC-6), and the T5 can only use cable releases. These are minor things until you need them!
I hope those two little things help!

  • What is major difference between hyperion planning and hyperion essbase

    hi
what is the differences between hyperion planning and hyperion essbase.i dont know about planning much.but as far i know.i think we can do every thing in essbase also(planning, budgeting and forecasting)
what u say.what we actually do in planning.
    regards
    bharat

    Hi Bharat
Although as you mention in your post Essbase can do plans/budgets etc it may not be simple to provide complex planning process control and ease of data entry etc.
Planning delivers these benefits and some through web delivered components such as forms, business rules and workflow for instance. There are some restrictions to using planning and these need tobe well understood before embarking on a project.
It would be worth having a look at product sheets from Oracle and/or presentations from various events to get a feel for planning capabilities.
    Hope this helps.

  • Major Differences between Project Server and Project Proffessional

    Hi,
We are planning to use MS Project with SharePoint. In the initial research i came to know that we will need MS Project Professional to syn task lists on SharePoint. We are looking at a solution where all the Project Leaders (Across the world) can update
their project statuses online using SharePoint (right now this is being done manually).
I then came to know that we can access MS Project on SharePoint using MS Project Server. I am now not able to decide on which one to choose. So I want to know the major differences between MS Project server
and MS Project professional. Which one would full fill my requirements. I cannot limit my requirements to only updates. but also would want to add some extra features like Site Mail box and Project Issues log, so that my Project Management is more effective
    and is better.
    Please answer at earliest
    Regards

    Srikar --
Microsoft Project Server 2013 is an enterprise project management (EPM) application in which all data is stored in a SQL Server database.  This EPM software application allows organizations to manage dozens, hundreds, or thousands of projects and
to manage dozens, hundreds, or thousands of resources as well.  To use Project Server 2013, your PMs would each need a copy of Microsoft Project Professional 2013 and would use this software to plan their projects and to save and publish the projects
to Project Server.  Your team members and executives would use their Internet Explorer to access the web-based user interface to Project Server 2013 called Project Web App, or PWA for short.
In PWA, your team members can use either The Timesheet page or the Tasks page to report progress on their task assignments.  In PWA, your PMs would be able to see the updates from their team members and be able to approve those updates.  Once
approved, the task updates are applied to the appropriate project so that the PM does NOT have to retype the updates.  For executives, PWA offers the Project Center page which shows the portfolio of published projects in Project Server, where they can
see the current status of each project.
Beyond this, Project Server also includes a Business Intelligence Center where your Project Server administrator can create very customized reports for various audiences.  In brief, there is a LOT of power in Project Server 2013.  If you think
you might want to use it, you have two options:  (1) Buy the software, install it yourself, set it up yourself, and maintain it yourself, or (2) contract with Microsoft to use Project Online, which is a hosted version of Project Server 2013 that is maintained
    by Microsoft in the cloud.
You can learn even more about Project Server 2013 at the following link:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/project/project-portfolio-management-for-the-enterprise-project-server-FX103802061.aspx

  • Major differences between GTS 7 and 10 version

I am new to GTS. I am ECC consultant and my company is sending me for GTS training.. Currently we are in GTS 7 and SAP has stopped supporting the  7 version and hence planning to go for  upgrade to 10 version
I wanted to check what are the major changes from 7 - 10 . We do not want our normal business to be broken once we do upgrade and hence trying to figure out the differences between 7 and 10 version.
Latest release notes only  mentions difference from 9 10 10 but could not find the differences between 7 -10.
If any of you faced the same issue can you please point out the major differences.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Vijay,
As you can see, Vikas has provided all the details here, so there's not much more to be said .
In the areas you mention, I think it's unlikely that anything will be broken by your intended upgrade.  Instead, you may find additional features that could be interesting to start using in the future - the exception being Embargo checking where (unfortunately) nothing has changed as far as I know.
SPL now offers more options for checking names & addresses, and there's more flexibility and functionality in Legal Control, including re-export value calculations where trade in controlled products is undertaken with USA vendors.

    Dave

  • Major differences between the iPhone and the iPod touch after SDK?

I was so excited to read that there will be apps available for the iPod touch soon - the only reason I haven't upgraded from my 30GB iPod is that I use the games all the time when I'm on the treadmill. Not having games available regardless of WiFi connection just wasn't going to work for me.
That being said, once the SDK comes out, will there be any major differences (besides the phone, obviously, and WiFi connection to internet vs. connection anywhere) between the two devices? I have one year left on my current phone contract, so I'm thinking I don't want to wait that long since apps will be available on the Touch soon.
    Any insight is appreciated!

    We have NO idea.
But, let's play for a minute...
    Touch will still not have:
    Phone
    BlueTooth
    GPS capabilities
None of which I care about, except maybe the BT, which is not there, so it doesn't matter.
Maybe a future version will have BT, but now, no.
So...if they do really open the Touch, it will be the same sans the above - which is great by me.

  • Whats the main difference between Add-Type and [Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFrom($DLL.FullName) for example

    Hello
I have a query please, if someone can help answer it
I am just not clear on when to use which method and if they need to be used together some of the time or all of the time.
Is it true to say the answer to the above is you use Add-Type when the DLL containing the type has already been loaded into memory but not yet scope of the script (e.g. like the 'using' statement
    in C#)
if the DLL or its manifest is not in memory then you need to firs to load into memory via
     [Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFrom($DLL.FullName)
    for example?
But if that is the case do you not then need to use Add-Type once LoadFrom has loaded into memory to get the members of the type?
    Thank you
    AAnotherUser__

This is a recent thread with some discussion of the differences - between using and Load/Add-Type.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/9fe4c708-c98e-432e-a4e1-4a8e80250c18/how-do-i-loadreference-assemblies-in-powershell?forum=ITCG
Load and Add-Type are basically the same thing, and once the
assembly's been loaded in memory it's available, so there's no using equivalent.
I hope this post has helped!
