Major dropout of BT on Saturday 28 June

There was a quite long period on Saturday when Broadband only worked in certain areas .
This problem was apparently known about by BT , certainly according to a Broadband Speedchecker site that I use . It was only after using the check site that I stopped tearing my system down looking for the fault .
 Why , for goodness sake , can BT not put up a warning of non-availability or shortcomings ? It would certainly make the customers happier .
 Instead , you get stupid erroneous comments on the BT help site saying "No problems in your area" or lies to that effect .
 Come on BT , make friends with your customers and be more forthcoming .

However , it begs the question .
Why don't BT help us and themselves by having a single accessible address for displaying general problems----such as that of Saturday ? 
I have counted 23 frustrated BT customers on just three sites ; most of them had started (like I did) tearing systems apart to find what was wrong .
I was only guided to the fault when I decided to check broadband speed , because the fault was erratic to say the least , and then found a heavily highlighted "BT Broadband Outage........"  warning , this latter not being on a BT site .
Like I said , it's not just me , and if you take into account the number of people that gave up (fed up) it shows the system to be wanting .
When BBC or ITV have a problem , they very rapidly flash a message on the screen . 
When BTInternet are trying to sell me something , they do not just send me an invite , they do it in bulk . Now , if they can do that , why not use the same route for a "sorry , looks like we boobed again" message ? 
The Daily Mail is currently looking into how BT Broadband makes their profits ; I bet there's a huge lump generated by not providing a proper , joined up , CUSTOMER oriented service .
Using people in India reading Prompt Cards is just not customer service .
Anyway , we may as well call this discussion closed ; nothing will come of it . Corporate greed will make sure of that .

  • Landline out of service since June 5

    been a verizon customer for the last 15 years, this is the first time we had issue with the landline.  could place a call but could not receive a call.  A tech came to our house pretty quick (2 days) after submitting issue over the phone.  He did some troubleshootting in the house, found nothing wrong inside, then he went to some box outside on the street to do more troubleshooting, came back and told us that there was problem with the line outside that he would open a trouble ticket to get another team out to get it fixed the next day (Saturday June 8).  After he left, we realized we could not make calls anymore (phone shows line in use) after whatever he did to the box outside on the street.  We figured no biggie, everything would get fixed the next day anyway.  But nothing appareantly happened the next day, no followup calls from Verizon either to at least let us know it was rescheduled or anything.  Called on Monday (June 10) morning, was told someone was being dispatched to get the problem fixed on that day.  So we waited, nothing happened by the end of the day, no calls from Verizon either.  We called again, were told if it did not get fixed by Wednesday, call them back again.  Waited 2 more days, another happened either, no calls from Verizon.  Called again Wednesday night, were told that it had been rescheduled for the 24th.  what the heck???, we were totally not happy about it, called again to ask to have it escalated, the rep assured us it would be taken care of on Saturday June 15.  Again, by the end of the day on Saturday, phone line still not working, very very disappointed and tired of calling Verizon.  anyway, called again, we were told it had been reschedule to Friday June 21.  again, no one had ever called us to at least let us know the scheduling change, asked for escalation again, spoke to a rep who told us that she would write an email to the field op manager to escalate the issue, and she would call me back at 11am today to give me an update.  We are currently waiting for that call back and just came here to rant.   I personally have never had a worse customer service/follow up in anything i dealt with in the past than how Verizon is handling our phoneline issue in this case.

  • How do I use the remote app on a dual band network?

    There are 2 routers in my home. One is dual band (SSID: NETGEAR49-5G). This one is being used as a 5GHz access point while the other (SSID: NETGEAR49) is being used as a 2.4GHz extender. However I can't use the Remote app to control my iTunes library, regardless of which router I connect to. I can't even use a passcode to add my library because I just keep getting an error saying I entered the wrong code. Strangely everything's fine if I turn off the 2.4GHz router, but I don't want to have to keep doing that. Is there any way I can configure the two routers so I can use the Remote app and other network-based services??

    I can tell you how it works on my iPhone.
    I click the Messages icon to open it.
    I click the box with pencil icon top right for New Message
    I start to type the name of the person I want to contact in the "To" spot.
    (Alternatively use the Blue + icon and select direct from Contacts list)
    I select the full name of Contact from any list if there are multiples.
    Once the person and their Contact option is selected I click on the text field at the bottom of screen
    Using the "keyboard" I type the Message and then  the Send button.

  • How do I get a real person to handle my complaint???

    I currently have 4 lines with VerizonOn Saturday June 7, 2014, I placed an order through the Verizon website to upgrade the 5559 and 5551 lines under the Verizon Edge promotion.  Both phones I ordered were the Droid MAXX 16 GB Black.  
    On Tuesday June 10, 2014, FedEx delivered the phones to my husband’s office.  The phones were ordered separately and subsequently were shipped in separate boxes.  The phone for the 5551 line was order number (removed).  It was shipped in a 9x6x4 inch box with a preprinted FedEx label and arrived undamaged and in working condition.  The phone for the 5559 line was order number (removed).  It was shipped in a 12x12x10 inch box with a hand-written FedEx address label.
    The box was barely taped together on the bottom and had a one corner that was crushed in and another corner that was torn down the side.  Upon opening this package, it was discovered the contents of this order were severely damaged.  Photos of damage are below.

    Bottom corner of my brand new $500 phone delivered shattered.  Phone was lying in the box separated from the retail packaging with cracked screen.
    I called on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 3:37 pm central to advise customer service that the package arrived damaged.  At this time, I had not yet been home to personally observe the damage.  I was advised to call back once I determined which line the phone was assigned to and an escalation ticket would be generated.  I was further advised that the escalation ticket would take up to 24 hours to be resolved and following that a new phone would be shipped overnight or that arrangements could possibly be made for me to pick up a replacement in store.  I was also advised that there would be no need for me to contact FedEx (Call Time 14:30 minutes)
    I called back in at 5:59 pm central once I arrived home to provide which line the phone was supposed to be assigned to.  After explaining the situation again, the representative went to start the escalation ticket but was having difficulty.  She put me on hold to contact technical support, and the call dropped shortly thereafter.  Representative did not call me back.  (Call Time 14:00 minutes)
    After waiting for a call back, I called customer service again at 6:23 pm central and was connected to a different representative.  After explaining the situation again, he stated he would handle the escalation ticket.  An escalation ticket number 167881 was finally created.  The representative explained to me that it could take 24-48 hours (twice as long as previously advised) for the escalation ticket to be resolved, but once it was resolved, someone with Verizon would contact me and advise how to proceed but that a new phone should be shipped to me at that point.  (Call Time 25:00 minutes)
    On June 12, 2014 at 2:51 pm central, I called customer service to check on the status of the escalation ticket and to see when I could expect my new phone to be shipped.  After explaining the situation again, the representative told me that management must have my ticket on their desk to call and that she couldn’t advise me of the status.  She stated there should be a return label in my Verizon account to print to ship the damaged phone back before my new phone would be shipped.  I advised that I had seen a return label in my account while looking for something else earlier in the day but that I was afraid it was for shipping the phone for the Edge trade-in.  The representative said she would have to check the tracking number and see which phone the label was supposed to be for.  While on hold, the call disconnected and no one called me back.  (Call Time 31:00 minutes)
    I decided to wait to call back until after the 48 hour mark for the escalation ticket in case someone with management whose desk it was supposedly on would happen to call me.  When they didn’t call within the time window give, I attempted to call back.  At 8:00 pm central, I called, held for over 9 minutes, and had the call drop.  I called back at 8:10, spent 2 minutes navigating the menu again, and had call drop.  I called back again at 8:12, spent approximately 10 minutes on hold, and was finally connected to a person so I could once again explain my situation.  While explaining the situation to her, my call once again dropped, but this representative at least called me back.  The call repeatedly dropped (5 additional times) but the representative did continue to keep calling me back (except for final time) while I attempted to explain the situation.  She originally advised that I would need to file a claim against my phone insurance which I stated I did not feel was the case since it arrived damaged.  She then proceeded to tell me she could see where the representative earlier in the day was working to fill out an order to have my new phone shipped overnight to me when the call with that representative dropped.  She then advised me that I would have to first ship the broken phone back before my other phone would even be shipped.  I advised her I didn’t have a problem returning the broken phone, but that I was tired of waiting for a replacement phone that I was originally told I would already have.  She then consulted with her support team and advised she would place an order to overnight me a new phone.  After working on the order for the better part of the hour phone call, she stated she was unable to finish the process since it was ordered on the Edge program.  While trying to obtain clarification as to why nothing I was being told by representatives matched actual actions and procedures, I was never able to get a straight answer other than she wasn’t responsible for the incorrect information and what she was telling me now was correct.  When the call dropped the last time at 9:13 pm central, I received an automated text message apologizing for the dropped call and stating the representative would call me back shortly, but never received another call.
    Today is Friday June 13, 2014.  I am utilizing the return label found underneath the order number on the My Verizon website.  The label provided to me was for United State Postal Service 1st Class Package. I will be calling again this evening to complain about the fact the label I was provided was for a non-priority service, and I again was left waiting even longer than expected after being led to believe throughout my conversations I would be sending it back through an expedited shipping manner as well.
    I am completely dissatisfied with my Verizon experience.  Now I am left having to decide whether or not to return the phone for the 5551 line, revert to my old phone on the line, and cancel my 3 available lines in November or be obligated to an additional 2 years of a service before I will even know if this issue is satisfactorily resolved.  It is a sad reflection on your company that customers are of such low priority that no one is responsible enough to return phone calls in the time frame given or even held accountable for the information and/or misinformation they provide.  I can guarantee I will NOT recommend anyone to Verizon or the Verizon Edge program.
    I am also enclosing copies of all the tracking paperwork from FedEx that would indicate Verizon damaged my phone prior to shipping and knowingly shipped it anyway! Unfortunately, I am the one who pays monetarily, with my time (almost 3 hours that I can account for), and my headaches while your company continues to give me the run around.

    I think you have brought up a really good question and one that deserves
    some attention by all:
    customers, partners and Forte. The advent of third-party tools for the
    Forte marketplace is an interesting prospect. If I take my companies
    product (SCAFFOLDS), the original impetus for building such a thing, was not
    to offer an alternative to Forte Express, but to offer an alternative to
    building applications with raw Forte. And as such, we have not targeted,
    feature compared or analyzed Forte Express to help build or sell any part of
    our product.
    I think the reason for this is that many of us in the framework business do
    not see ourselves as having a competing product to Forte Express. The
    reason for this is that we have taken on applications with our products that
    Forte themselves would not pitch Express at. The architectural descriptions
    in SCAFFOLDS have been used to do everything from simple to very complex GUI
    development to Database persistence or communications to satellites.
    Because of this, there is some overlap of functionality, but certainly we
    see Forte Express being used for a much more limited class of application.
    I would question the assertion that it is good for Forte to build more. I
    think Forte, like any company, has a limited amount of engineering muscle.
    With this muscle they should be concentrating on their core products that
    make the company profitable. If I look at their product line-up, clearly
    the Forte Development Tool is the make or break product. They should rely
    more on the marketplace to provide solutions for things that are outside of
    their core products. I sort of take the opposite tact. It seems clear that
    the more a third party marketplace finds outlets for their solutions the
    more diverse solutions we are likely find in that marketplace. As an
    example, if you look at the Visual Basic marketplace, clearly it is big with
    many, many solutions because Microsoft defined some specs for add in
    components and let the marketplace provide solutions.
    I think Forte could spend more time opening up their tool for additions by
    third-party vendors. For example, things like object introspection, an open
    repository and dynamically adding widget types would do wonders for the
    number and kinds of solutions that would exist in the Forte marketplace
    today if this was done a version or two ago. Instead, I think Forte spent
    much of their engineering muscle on other kinds of products, like Forte
    Express. Whether this strategy will pay of for them remains to be seen, but
    certainly if they enter the Java world, they will have to change their
    current strategy with regard to support to third-party solutions. The Java
    marketplace is very diverse today and Forte will have to allow more
    third-party integration to be taken seriously in that market.

  • IMessage on Macbook Pro not working

    All of a sudden my macbook pro's iMessage stopped working! Every time I'd send a message, a red circle with an exclamation point pops up on the side of the message. Somedays it'll be on and off where i could send iMessages but only receive one on my mac. I already reinstalled os x and deleted everything, but iMessage wouldn't work on my mac. Same goes for FaceTime! When I accept a FaceTime call, the whole window goes to the side and disappear. Help!!!!

    Natively you can use names vaild with AIM (AIM, @Mac.com a MobileMe) and Jabber IDs including Googletalk ones in iChat.
    There is a way to get to Text chat to MSN Buddies via a Jabber ID and what are called Transports.

    iChatUSBCam for Panther/iChat2.x - A Add-on utility for using iSight or USB cam with iChat2.x (Incompatible with Tiger/iChat 3)
    iProfile - An Add-on for producing a profile on the AIM server that ichat 2.x could not do (not proven to be a problem but now not needed).
    A clean install of Tiger (not Archive and Install) produces the best results.
    But any install should also check these Tiger settings.
    First, UPDATE to 10.4.3 as this gets past many Connection issues that became apparent with the basic Tiger (10.4) and iChat 3.0 It updates iChat to version 3.1 (it also mentions the Virex issue)
    Check Settings
    Don't be complacent that you have not set anything different.
    There are several new things in Tiger that may trip you up.
    These are worth looking at:
    Mac Firewall. Now includes the ability to Block all UDP traffic in the Advanced button (System Preferences > Sharing >Firewall tab then the Advanced Button).
    Also can now open UDP protocol for ports where as the Panther one only did TCP (Check any old Panther settings you Added to the presets).
    The ports should be:
    TCP -5190
    UDP -5060, 5190, 5678, 16384-16403
    There are more ports for Bonjour 5297, 5298, 5353 UDP and 5298 TCP and Jabber, 5220, 5222, 5223 on TCP)

    QuickTime. This has a change in the name of the Connection Speed tab to Streaming (System Preferences > QuickTime) Check this is set to be equal to your connection speed (the download one if this is faster - *Preferably 1.5Mbps* ). See Apple Doc 301641 Dated 9th November 2005.
    Date & Time. Not conclusively involved but worth eliminating. Set a Network Server and the correct Time Zone.
    Also check it matches any similar setting in your Modem and router
    Apple Remote Desktop. If this is active in System Preferences > Sharing > Services tab it causes problems for iChat.
    Next, test the actual speed you are getting from your ISP.

    Other Known Problems
    There are several other applications that iChat 3 does not seem to like.
    folding@home This is a application that uses spare processor time to help find protein chains for a University.

    Lotus Notes Some people have reported problems with this.
    Make sure any Add-on Video cards or input PCI cards have up to date Firmware
    IF you are still having problems I would do Gulliver's Routine Maintenance Tasks as laid out here.
    Lastly, some routers/modems are SIP aware and give different results in iChat 3 compared to iChat 2.
    This is due to the Operating System changing (like a new computer connecting to the modem) rather than iChat.

    i think apple needs to keep up with the jones here, so far i read at LOGIC PRO FORUMS many saying cubase and pro tools left logic in the dust, 1 year ago already, sad, but true
    in anycase, trye starting one app before the other to see which combination works., other wise i think more apps will fall out of sync with old logic pro

    Are you trying to Login here with the Manage option.
    This will take you to the Apple ID page and tell you if there is an Verified Email as the Apple ID and whether there is a recovery email in use.
    There is a menu on the left to sort any Recovery email and set Security Questions.
    You are most likely to need to verify the Apple ID you were trying to create.

  • How can I delete an apple ID , when I didn't even verified the account ?

    Can you please help on solving a problem . Long time ago I was trying to register an iPad with my email. A verification email was sent to that email,but I didnt verify it. Now I want to registe rwith that mail , but a message appears "this email is already in use" or sth like that. Please advise how to delete that account ( if exists) or to make new registration with my email address?

  • Share wireless internet modem from one computer to another with router model WRT120N

    I am trying to share an internet connection of my Sprint wireless modem from computer 1 to computer 2. Is there a way to share the internet connection? I have successfully set up a Home Group. I have tried to share my internet connection by

    Next Network Magic informs me that LAN has lost connection.
    I disconnect from the internet connection then connect again.
    Network Magic shows my computer is not connected to the router but the internet is connected as well as the 2nd computer (Sharing the internet to). I can still connect to the internet from my computer.
    I tried opening google my IE 9 browser on computer 2, not able to connect. On computer 2 Network Magic shows that all devices are connected to the router but is not connected to the internet.
    Home Groups are not available now on both computers but I am still able to connect to mapped network drives.
    I am running Network Magic Basic on both computers.

    However, please don't use 192.168.0.2 for the router but 192.168.137.2 instead. Home sharing uses 192.168.137.1 on the sharing computer instead of 192.168.0.1 as it was in earlier Windows versions.
    To make the change, unplug the WRT from your network. Wire your second computer to a LAN port of the WRT.
    Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/
    On the main setup page, change the LAN IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.137.2.
    On the same page, disable the DHCP server.
    Save settings.
    Unplug the computer. Now wire one of the numbered LAN ports of the WRT to your home sharing computer.
    That's it.

  • Problem with ichat 3.1.9 and os 10.4.11 and aim logon for a/v chats

    Hello all. Please help. I have been trying to help a family member with their mac laptop, os tiger 10.4.11 and ichat 3.0. When trying to logon to start an a/v chat with anyone the program keeps defaulting to AIM. We have repeatedly deleted the "com.apple.ichat.aim.plist" file from the computer. This was done in the home/user/preferences/library folder and then in the documents folder. We have deleted all AIM accounts from the computer in iChat and all AIM associations in the keychain access. We have unchecked all boxes for the bonjour account in preferences in ichat and checked only "use this account" for the ".mac" account. We have tried changing the port to 443 from 5190 with no results. Short of reinstalling the ichat program from the installation cd, I am at a loss for what to do next. All replies helpful. Thanks.

    Can I check a couple of things ?
    You are on 10.4.11 ?
    And the iChat version reads iChat 3.0 ?
    This would suggest iChat has been Reinstalled and the 10.4.11 COMBO Updater for your Processor type has not bee installed (Again)
    Software Update will think this update is done and not ask for it again. However the reinstall of apps will override this and need the COMBO Installer to be downloaded and run.
    With the OS at this time there were separate Intel and PCC Downloads.

    iChat 3 can login to AIM with AIM Names, Apple IDs (@mac.com and MobileMe @Me.com names) and to various Jabber servers also in an email type name style (as in [email protected]) and can be made to login to GoogleTalk.
    Previously in iChat 1 & 2, iChat Only logged in to AIM.
    In the Start Up Screens which you can return to be deleting the com.apple.ichat.plist and the com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist at the same time it will offer AIM as the first choice (With @mac.com as the alternative option).
    MobileME names have to be entered as if they are AIM names and entered in full as in [email protected].
    iChat is therefore a Multi-service client. An AIM Login with an AIM name or an Apple ID is the first choice in entering a Screen Name in the Start Up Screen.
    From there it will appear first in the list in iChat > Preferences > Accounts (And the Window Menu). In the server Settings tab it will list the AIM server as the login server (login.oscar.aol.com) whether you use an Apple ID or an AIM one.
    Apple have an agreement that lets AIM (Or it's servers) query the MobileMe and @mac.com name databases to check a name is valid.
    There is one drawback with this method. AIM only allow passwords up to an including 16 characters where as Apple allows longer.
    They need to be shortened to 16 characters or less if they are longer at Apple.
    There is NO Apple or Mac IM service.
    Reinstalling iChat will not change this behaviour.
    There is no option in the General Section of the Preference to Set iChat as the default app See Here in iChat 3
    This has a direct effect on using Web Page Links to start Group Chat/Chatrooms.
    This is changed in Firefox 3.x in the MIME settings or this Method in Internet Explorer.
    Shiira and Safari cannot change this but changing in the others seems to help them as well.
    Summary.
    It looks like you need a COMBO Install to bring iChat up to date with the OS based on the info posted. Links provided.
    iChat is first and foremost an AIM client and Apple IDs log in to the AIM Servers.
    iChat cannot be set to be the default App in iChat 3 (It can in iChat 4 and 5).
    However you can use a Web Browser to change this behaviour for Web Links to Chatrooms/Group chats.
    I think I have covered almost everything I can think of raised by your post but I am still unsure which of these you were really asking about.

  • Does not work in Safari

    Downloaded and installed Safari on my PC. Went to my website,
    but it does NOT work. Have tried it on a different Safari, same

  • Using my .mac account on iChat AV (problems)

    Hi, I've been using iChat AV with my .mac account since december, and it was all fine 'til some weeks ago.
    From the end of may 2006 I have many problems using my .mac account in iChat AV.
    Sometimes I can connect, but usually I can't connect! And the problem is the same on my iMac G5, on my old iBook G4 12" 1.33, and on my new MacBook 1.83...
    When I try to enter with a AIM account it's fine and I connect!
    But all my friends have my .mac account and I want to use it!
    Can anyone help me?
    P.S. I tried to use programs like adiumX, but I still have the same connection problem using my .mac account! And I still pay for it!!!!

    Every now and then AIM sort out what they think are unused account names and make them available again.
    Whilst they are doing this there are often problems with .mac names for some reason.
    After the period that lots of people were having problems, there have been cases of invidual .mac users who have problems.
    The solution is to speak to .mac and ask them to look into it.

    I reopened the case for there was no fix  Adobe contacted me and told me it would be fixed is some future release of Photoshop and once again case # 181675168 was closed over my objection.
    I was vocal about Adobe poor excuse for support in forums.   I then was contacted by Jeff Tranberry of Adobe he was asked to  contact me by John Nack to see if he could change me.  We exchanged some e-mails ending with Jeff writing unfortunately, you issues has been deemed low impact and has been deferred.
    May 7, 2012  I called Adobe to find out if this bug was fixed in Photoshop for I did not want to buy CS6 if the Bug was not fixed. After about an hour on the phone talking to many Adobe employees including Adobe Support  referenced case # 181675168 log as Bug # 2737069. I was told the bug was not in CS6.  So I ordered CS6.   FedX dropped off Today I installed it only to find the bug introduced is CS4 reported in CS5 is still in CS6.

    CS5 has a bug recording and playing Actions that add Adjustments layers. Old actions recorded before CS5 and actions recorded with CS5 may or may not Play/Work correctly.
    Before there was an Adjustment Panel all Adjustment Layers were added applied to all layers and you needed to clip them after the were added if you wanted it clipped. The new adjustment panel made it possible to add a adjustment layer clipped to the current layer. However a clipping parameter is not recorded by the action recorder just the type and setting are recorded.
    When a make adjustment layer step is play it is either clipped or not depending on the state of the adjustment panel's clipping icon. If it not in the same state as it was when the action was recorded it will be add incorrectly. It would also be impossible to create an action that added some adjust layer clipped and others that are not.
    I feel the is a serious bug which needs to be addressed. I believe the solution is simple and even old actions will also work.
    Two patches are needed.
    One in the Action recorder. If the step being recorded is make adjustment layer and the adjustment panel icon state is clip to layer this needs to be recorded in the action step record. If the layer is to be applied nothing extra needs to be recorded in the step record just leave it as is like actions prior to the adjustment panel.
    The second patch in the Action Player.  If the step that is about to execute is a make adjustment layer. The Player needs to save away the state of the adjustment panel icon. Then check the adjustment step record to see if it is to be clipped. If so set the adjustment panel icon to the clipping state else set it to the all layers state. Then do/call the add adjustment layer function/routine on return restore the adjustment panels icon from the saved state. Proceed to the next step.
    I have been trying to report the bug for days. Please at least acknowledge you received my bug report.

    I consulted your knowledge base and I called customer support. This bug has not been listed. Custom support had me fill out a bug report at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm? name=wishform which I did but that was not even acknowledged. I demonstrated the bug to customer support by sharing my screen.
    As for you forums for some reason the forum web site states my Adobe ID is disabled so I can not append or start a thread there id screen name jjmack. I created a new Adobe ID yesterday [email protected] that to seems to be disabled or I can not come up with any screen name the is availably I have tried many. Every simple or outlandish name I have entered generates the same message screen name not available. I'm at my wits end I've been using Photoshop since Photoshop version 3. Over the years it seems to get harder and harder to communicate with Adobe....

    simpler then I first thought. Upon more investigation this is what I see.
    I skipped CS4 and when I installed CS5 I discovered a nasty bug had been introduced is Photoshop's Action facility most likely in CS4.
    Action that add adjustment Layers clipped to the current layer that step is recorded Make adjustment layer with Clip.
    Action that add adjustment Layers not clipped Step records as Make adjustment layer.
    When a step Make adjustment layer with Clip is played back that is what Photoshop does.
    When a step Make adjustment layer is played back what Photoshop does is look at the adjustment panel clipping icon state and and if it is clip to current layer Photoshop does clip the adjustment layer to the current when is should be applied to all.
    Many of the actions I have created add adjustment layer applied to all then later clip them to the current layer. These actions generate an error message if the Adjustment panel clipping icon is set to clip. Because the layer get added clipped clipping it is not available. The strange thing is the layer is clipped the way I wanted it to be. But actions I recorded where I want the adjustment to apply to all are clipped and the is no error message just wrong results.

    Create a one step action that add an adjustment layer that applies to all layers.
    Play that action with the icon in the adjustment panel is set to apply to all layers. Change the status of that icon to clip to layer and play the action again.
    You will find the first adjustment layer was added correctly apply to all layers like it was recorded the second adjustment was added clipped to layer when it should be applied to all...

    July 2 Adobe support called me once again they share my display and I demonstrated the bug for a second time. This time the stated they were recording my demo. After I demonstrated the bug they put me on hold for a while. Upon returning they informed me that there was still no circumvention or fix for this problem. They wanted to know if I was at the latest software level they were still sharing my display so I did a Photoshop Help About Photoshop to show I had the latest update Photoshop version 12.0.1. Told me they were not capable of handling this problem and would have to refer this to senior technical support that they would determine if it was a bug. What a joke Adobe junior technical support can not even recognize a bug when it has been demonstrated to them on two occasions now and also received several case update from me. Adobe you need better support personal.

    Any work around does not solve my problem. Thousands have downloaded my actions. There is no way that I can contact them to make the aware of any work around. I can code around this bug but again I have no way to get the update to those that have downloaded my actions for they are free. All that is logged is the number of downloads. No registration is required so there is no way to contact the users that downloaded my actions. The problem will only be resolved when adobe updates Photoshop and fixes the problem.

    This case should not be closed till there is a fix for this bug. How can Adobe Support close a bug report when Adobe acknowledges its a bug where Adobe Support does not provide a fix. Blowing smoke with statements like "if in the future a resolution or fix is possible, it will be available from the Adobe Systems product update web site". Photoshop CS3 work correctly Adobe broke the Action Player in CS4 and its still broken is CS5. "if a fix is possible!"!!! Are you joking? What kind of support is that? Do you get a bonus for closing bug reports without fixing the bug? Does it make you look good inside Adobe. I can tell you from the outside there is a foul stench emulation from Adobe Technical Support.

    Did it ever work in Photoshop CS5?
    Try to make a copy of the action that he is trying to run, remove the 'Hide' command and re-record hide in PS CS5, put it into the action, and see if that works.
    Or try making a short action along with Hide command . If this works, then something might have got changed between the version.
