F4 help means a value-request help that lets the user select from a list of possible values.
As this feature is deeply intergrated into SAP, it is supported for every input field on a selection screen (Parameter or Select-Options).
The selectable values can have a copulle of origins:
- fixed values defined in the dictionary domain of the field
- a search help connected to data element, table field or screen field
- value from a check table defined for the field in dictionary table or structure
- predefined helps like the calendar popup for DATE fields
- a programmed selection list triggered by screen event AT VALUE-REQUEST FOR <field>.
Do a search in this forum and find ample solutions for everything I mentioned and for what I forgot.

Can I make the Help Center application work like other apps

Hi, I've searched all over the place to find the commands I need to enter into Terminal to make the Help Center application work like an ordinary application, ie so that a help center window can remain open whilst using the appliction it refers to, I did it a long time ago on my Imac using Snow Leopard, but I just can't remember what I did or where I found the Terminal commands to do it (Old age is creeping up on me ). I would like to do the same for my mid 2012 MacBook Air running Mountain Lion any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Peter

Hi everyone! I'm at my wits end trying to find a free greeting card maker. Help please ;(

I have tried google and just keep getting sent in circles or creating a card and finding out that it costs money to make. I'm about ready to give up. have to be up at 3am for my daughter's graduation from MOS in the Marine Corp. Make the help feature better

...by which I mean:
FASTER - in the olden days of CS3, I could click on help, type in a query, press return and have the answer right there in a few seconds. Now the help system has grown so ridiculously bloated that it takes about a minute just to load up! By which time I've just opened Firefox and Googled the answer there.
EASIER - For example, I want to 'fill' an area. I load up the help system...yawn...turn off all the 'online' options, do a search for 'fill'. It comes back with "1. Select the Live Paint Bucket Tool". OK. Where is this live paint bucket tool? Would it kill Adobe to change this to "1. Select the Live Paint Bucket Tool. It's hiding behind the shape builder tool about halfway down the toolbar". It would save me having to click and expand every single toolbar item, looking for the thing.
And talking of the toolbar, ever since about CS, I have hated the way the tools are in pop-out menu thingies - nearly all pro CS+ users have big monitors, which are more than capabale of displaying all the pop-out tools in a nice long vertical column. This would make finding and accessing the tools far faster.

So there's no apparent way to rotate a gradient in Illustrator, so I searched for "gradient" in the help. The word "gradient" WASN'T FOUND IN THE HELP.

How do I make sure helpful people get credit?

I could not find any topic that relates to this in the discussion list. My question is this: I often click on the "helpful" button when on your discussion website. I'm very pleased with the level of help. I'm concerned that people who solve my problems don't get credit. After I've clicked on the helpful button, I find later that the response actually solved my problem. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to change (or add) "solved" to my initial "helpful" response. How do I do that?

Here is some info on how that actually works.
When you mark the appropriate posts as Helpful (5 pts) only 2 available per topic, or Solved (10 pts) only 1 available, you are Thanking the contributors, by awarding them points.
Once a reply is marked with either designation, it cannot be changed, and once the three are applied, there will be no more allotted.

Expert coaster maker needs help! AVI plays - DVD issues??

The problem is that there seems to be a piece of footage that doesn't want to play right on the TV/DVD. It plays perfect in AVI format and through Encore preview (also Premiere).
Not all the video/audio is bad and stuttering - just a few parts. But, these parts pause/stop/start the playback.
History of the footage:
Four DV tapes imported Used Premiere (all products latest CS3 with latest updates) to edit video (multiple camera angles, etc)
Exported attempts: Microsoft DV AVI, Uncompressed Microsoft AVI and direct to Encore
I've even just worked with the problem section with same results.
Note: all footage plays perfectly within Premiere, Encore and Windows media player.
There is nothing different about this piece of footage - in fact it's within a large clip that plays right up to the problem.
Any ideas?
If there is other information I can offer please tell me what it is.

Try using RW - no coasters.
Is it the exact same section of footage that causes problems every time? Or are there minor variations?
Try different hardware/software DVD players.
Try different blank media.
Try burning at a slower speed.
Try building a disc image, then burning that through another program like
ImgBurn

"Time Machine Keeps" doesn't make sense - help.

I'm new to Mac. So forgive me if this is something I'm just way over thinking, but I like to understand stuff and this erks me that I don't understand it.
Time Machine says it keeps:
Hourly backups for the past 24 hours
Daily backups for the past month
Weekly backups for all previous months
What the heck does that mean?
So every hour it back ups whatever has changed on my iMac, right?
Does it also take a daily snapshot and keep those for a month?
Beyond that what is a weekly backup? Is it all the changes I made in a month?
And what really freaks me out is lets say I'm an ametur photographer (oh wait, I am )...... I store pictures on my hard drive, and they get backed up on Time Machine. I don't touch them for over a year or so, and my Time Capsule fills up. Does that mean that because "the oldest backups are deleted when your disk becomes full" that those old files that haven't been touched in hours, days, or weeks, are the first backed up file to go?
Hoping someone can explain this to me in layman's terms, or with really good analogies.

Yes. The Daily is the first backup of the day.
This is how pondini explains it.
Time Machine automatically "thins" (deletes) backups every time it does a new backup, as shown on the Preference window:
•"Hourly" backups after 24 hours (except the first of the day, which is a "Daily" backup).
So after one day, all the variations on your files are deleted. If you want to recover to version you made a few hours ago it will have to be done on that day.
•"Daily" backups after a month (except the first of each week, which is a "Weekly" backup.)
So you can restore any version of your file, that is part of the first backup of each day for one month.
•"Weekly" backups are kept until Time Machine needs the space for new backups; then one or more of the oldest weeklies will be deleted.
You can restore files saved on the first day of each week, for as long as the backup device has room.
However, Time Machine will never delete the backup copy of anything that was on the disk being backed-up at the time of any remaining backup. So all that's actually deleted are copies of items whose originals were changed or deleted before the next remaining backup. If that seems odd, it is! See How Time Machine works its Magic for details.
Honestly even having studied this stuff for a while .. I have no idea what the red bit means.
What is kept long term is Weekly backups. That is the backup of the first day of the week.
When space runs out the Weekly backups will be deleted from the oldest onwards.
But note that anytime you delete a file, that file will also be deleted from the TM backup at some unpredictable time in the future along with all the versions of the file.
The TM backup in the end is supposed to be able to recreate the computer as it is, right now. And to give you some history of file changes for as long as space is available. It is really not supposed to work as an archive of files. Do not expect to find every version of your files or especially files you have deleted on the computer to remain permanently in the TM backup.
Do use clones.. a clone gives you a proper archive of the computer.. make and keep clones and you will be able to recover even files you delete.

Make "Include Help Text" visible

I selected "include help text" on some items in a form I put together. When I saved the form as a pdf I expected that the ? icon would appear on the form and users would see the text that was typed in the help text. Is this possible? What do I have to select? Thanks.

The help text is shown in a tool tip when you mouse over a field. That is how the Adobe Reader shows it.

my phone turns on to the apple logo n thats it...sometimes it goes to a screen that has a usb picture and itunes on it...then it says iphone error cannot make or recieve calls, what do i do?

New to volume license process, NOOB.
Downloaded win 7 pro 64 VL iso
Installed on Dell computer "A", launched into audit mode
setup custom user account, activated entering VL 5x5, sysprep'd, made ghost image
Microsoft volume license site reports win 7 pro 64 MAK 1/50
Ghosted to Dell computer "B", activated entering VL 5x5
Microsoft volume license site reports win 7 pro 64 MAK 1/50
Ghosted to Dell computer "B" again, just clicked the activate now button, didn't ask for 5x5 and activation was sucessful
Microsoft volume license site reports win 7 pro 64 MAK 1/50
Ghosted computer "A", computer "A" boots up genuine, no activation or 5x5 required
Microsoft volume license site reports win 7 pro 64 MAK 1/50
What am I doing wrong? I know I shouldn't complain but why isn't the MAK count changing? This process has taken place over several days. I see numerous complaints about peoples counts changing when re-activating the same machine. While I'd rather not jump
out of this issue and into that one I do want to complete the process correctly. Any ideas?

On avito.ru i found a seller,and bought this iphone. My apple friends told me , that it must be with no aplle-id injected, no password, and must doing reseting and erase with no problem.
All this was OK, and I wait my wife birthday, with "new" black present. But when it was her birthday, I started having problems....
When i insert her SIM card in slot, nothing is happened. It can't register in any network!
I started to checking , wthf, etc... And now i know that this device is locked by you company for use only in CDMA network in USA.
Why I don't check this when buying ? I don't know, I prefer to trust people, idiot.
Of course , seller was cheater, and disappeared at next day.

Apple Russia official support said - It's locked, we don't know why, but on carrier.
Verizon support said - It's stolen or lost but it's is ok, you can use it, we don't lock it, please read our Unlocking Policy.
