Make iTunes STOP download automatically

Once a bought a song, but I didn't download it (it sounds weird, but it is a long story...). Than I bought few apps (I didn't download them also).
I have the Automatically check for Downloads option turned off, but once every few days iTunes downloads all my undownloaded items to my computer (1 GB). I have to stop it.
If I download an item and delete it, if doesn't download again. Do I have to download all the items and delete them???

Why would iTunes stop downloading purchased music

My itunes account suddenly stopped downloading purchased music. I bought one song and it downloaded no problem, but when I attempt to complete and album, it goes throught all the steps but stops short of actually downloading any music. What might be te problem?

Also make sure your using the original account that was created when first purchasing those songs had you changed your account information such as your username and password. To re-download you must use the original account. If you didn't change anything it just might be a bug and try again later.
One time I couldn't upgrade my apps and kept trying. Next thing you know about 20 minutes later they upgraded, no problem. This happens occasionally.

Itunes stops downloading when almost complete

Hi there, my friend has a dell laptop brand new not sure what model running windows 7. Whenever i attempt to download itunes the download reaches around 70-90% completion and then stops. I've tried IE, firefox and google chrome and all of them fail. I installed itunes via usb (downloading from another computer) and after installing it have found out that my friend is unable to sync her iphone (it synch's for a second and then stops) although this isn't the case on another computer so i suspect that itunes is the problem. If it helps the free version of AVG is installed on the computer. The computer only does this with itunes, i've been unable to recreate the problem with any other download.

Are the other downloads as large as the itunes download?
If you are DLing on a wireless connection, try from a wired connection.
You were able to DL from another PC, I presume it had a different internet connection.

ITunes stops downloading when other programs are running

I noticed recently that as soon as I open any other programs while iTunes is running in the background, it stops downloading music. Any suggestions?

When you say "downloading music", do you mean downloading music to your iPod, or importing music from CDs, or something else?
Also, with other applications closed by iTunes opened, launch your Task Manager, and go to the "Processes" tab.
Watch these three processes: iTunes.exe, iPodService.exe, and iTunesHelper.exe.
Now, try launching some other application.
Do either of those three processes in any way disappear, then reappear again, or anything similar? Or do they stay fine and the same when you open another program?

How do I get purchases from iTunes to download automatically?

Now that there is iTunes 11, when I purchase albums from the ITS, the songs don't download automatically to my iMac. I have to go into "Purchased" and force the items to download. This is a waste of time. I have marked the iTunes preferences to Automatically download music, etc., but that still does not cure the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

It auto downloads new purchases for me, say I have bought a TV series then as the new episodes become avilable they automaticaly download. For previously bought stuff in Itunes 10 I would go to my purchsed section in itunes store and click to download a new copy. I can still do this but if you are an icloud user and in the maun view of Music, TV shows whatever ican click on the cloud symbol and stream it from there. If I want to view the film in an area with no internet access I always download a copy first as icloud streaming will not work without internet access

when ever anything is being done in itunes like adding pics or movies or songs, it keeps poping up, i minimize it and go to windows media player or msn or whatever and it just pops up every couple of seconds... this is making me hate itunes even more... does anyone know how to make it stop?

Podcast stopped downloading automatic

does anybody know why tim conway jr on demand podcast has stopped downloading? this just started happening and now i can only get it if i go to itunes and download it manualy.

I kind of tried this, and when I clicked on the cloud, an "X" appeared and the podcast title became ghosted!
Had to wait a lengthy time for all the rest of the podcasts to load (I only connect with iTunes on my ext. hard drive about twice a week), and then go back and "refresh" these - they played all the way through and then were loaded. This is just the latest mishap with iTunes, which periodically never loads my 3 subscriptions for weeks at a time, and I have to manually load them from the various sites offering the podcasts. No one at the Apple Store knows what is wrong, and they all finally admit that it's an Apple error and not a site screwup! I will muddle along and hope the next time I plug in my Est. HD to open itunes that this will not happen!

ITunes stops downloading due to other windows

iTunes stops importing the minute I open another program and that program's window is on top of iTunes. Any ideas how to prevent this?

I just upgraded to the latest iTunes and am having the same problem. My guess is that because I disabled autorun on my CD ROM iTunes checks the CD drive each time iTunes looses and gains focus.
In previous versions it did this gracefully while importing CDs. It just looks like some developers should have been given more time and/or coffee. I'm sure there will be an update soon, but until then iTunes will be a bummer to work with. (Especially considering I just bought my wife a new nano video and we want to rip her CD collection into iTunes... oh well.)
iTunes used to offer to re-enable auto-run, but with companies like Sony out there who are willing to use autorun on audio CDs to install rootkits, I don't trust autorun anymore. (Plus I love having that extra control over what happens on my computer.)
Here's hoping it gets fixed soon! Any other tips someone has on this issue would be greatly appreciated!
Edit: ejecting an iPod also stopps the CD importing process and removes the CD from the "devices" menu on the left. (but does not eject the CD) weird.

ITunes Stopped Downloading

I have 6.0.4.2 and Windows XP which I use solely to access Photoshop related podcasts. For no apparent reason the automatic download on opening the programme has stopped working. Downloading manually seems only to work intermittently.
I tried upgrading to 7.0.2 but this resulted not only in scrambled video in iTunes and my Quicktime Pro player but the download situation is still the same.
I would welcome any suggestions from those with knowledge or similar experience.

Hi everyone,
Got my new 60GB today. It took a really long time to set up, but now I've just about got it with one problem. Yes, the computer recognizes the iPod after a few seconds of it being plugged in, and then it starts the syncing process. However, it will only do the first 30 of my 500+ songs in the Library, and then it stops in the middle with no error message, as if it were done with everything. When it's safe to disconnect, I check the iPod, and nothing's been downloaded at all! I've already restored it this afternoon, so any other suggestions would help.

I looked up many solutions to the problem online but none seem to work. Mainly, I looked to remove iTunes completely via Control Panel but it wasn't there.
Can you let us know what happens if you try installing iTunes again, please? In particular, if you get an error message, let us know what the error message says. (Precise text, please.)

Itunes stops downloading

Hey, i have recently bought a Ipod Mini, but i have not got Itunes. When i try to download it, it goes through fast, and stops at the same point every time. Itunes is on my desktop and in my start menu, but when i click on it nothing opens up :s help?

I just downloaded a new album today and was listening to a track of that album. The track played fine the first 3 or 5 times I listened to it, but now it just stops after 54 seconds. Can anyone let me know if this is a bug on iTunes(7.4.1) or if the download is corrupted.

How you remove and resync that one track depends on how your iPod is set up to sync music from your iTunes library. For example, you have your iPod configured to sync only checked songs and videos, simply remove the tick mark next to the song in your main iTunes library and then resync your iPod.
It might not be a bad idea to try and convert it to another format as well to see if that resolves the issue. Here is more on converting the track using iTunes.

Error 9006 - itunes stopped downloading the movie Glory Road

I bought the movie "Glory Road" from itunes. It started to download and then stopped and gave me an the error message of 9006. Only 49 mb of the movie downloaded. How can I try to download it again without buying it?

same thing here... its really making me mad.. I had to restore my whole ipod bc of the new software.. and i didnt even click to update it, it did it itself when i connected it... Now I cant manage my music or see how much space i have left.. Pathetic if you ask me.. Ill click no thanks, and itll give me the error msg, and then it says.. Setup new ipod or setup from backup ipod and it was my ipod name b4 it updated, and i click that and nothing happens..
