Hi !! I'm programming in sdk 13.1, device : virtex V ml 507, processor microblaze, it shows me this error :
make: *** No rule to make target `main.o', needed by `empty_application_0.elf'. Stop.
I have a similar thing when I run a C Simulation for a OpenCL Kernel for matrix multiplication in Xilinx Vivado High Level Synthesis. My CSim.log is as follows:

"No rule to make target" when compiling a C++ program under Winelib
I'm trying to compile a C++ program for Windows using Winelib, and it keeps exiting without doing anything with this message:
make: *** No rule to make target `windows.so', needed by `all'. Stop.
I don't think there's anything anywhere in the code or the makefile about "windows.so"... What is this about?You're going to have to provide way more information - what does your project look like? Where did you get it? Did you write the makefile yourself?

I remounted it with defaults options as stressed above topic and try again makepkg -R but still no joy
I looked at kernel.release
2.6.33-1-rt-ice
Any ideas?

Relinking forms executables results in "No rule to make target"
In the course of installing Forms 11.1.1.4 on weblogic 11gR1 (10.3.4), I ran into an issue after installing patch p9473270 (refer to Oracle Doc ID 1276725.1). The ERP system vendor recommends relinking the forms executables after applying this patch with the following commands:
Relink the Oracle forms binaries:
cd $ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib
make -f ins_forms.mk frmcmp_install
make –f ins_forms.mk frmbld_install
make –f ins_forms.mk frmcmpb_install
make –f ins_forms.mk frmweb_install
The second command resulted in an error:
$ make –f ins_forms.mk frmbld_install
make: *** No rule to make target `–f'. Stop.
After researching this issue, I tried the following command :
$ relink forms
This successfully relinked all forms executables.
-rwx------ 1 oracle dba 12510433 Jan 20 20:11 frmcmp
-rwx------ 1 oracle dba 20547 Jan 20 20:11 frmctrl
-rwx------ 1 oracle dba 13721638 Jan 20 20:11 frmcmp_batch
-rwx------ 1 oracle dba 12510975 Jan 20 20:11 frmbld
-rwx------ 1 oracle dba 15275747 Jan 20 20:11 frmweb
Any thoughts on the usage of "relink forms" vs. the make command? Or why I was encountering the error " No rule to make target"?
BillHi,
Please see {thread:id=2426792}, appears that 11gR2 is not certified on Linux 6.
Cheers, -
CPAN - "No rule to make target ..."
I'm trying to install perl modules using CPAN on Snow Leopard Server. Regardless of what I attempt to install, I get the error:
No rule to make target `/System/Library/Perl/5.10.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level/CORE/config.h', needed by `Makefile'. Stop.
It seems this means that I need the Perl header files. Where can I get/how can I install these files?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer - I'm a newbie at using CPAN.lisfolks wrote:
Oh, and is there a particular order in which the .pkg files should be installed?
You shouldn't pick and choose anything in Xcode. Just install it all with the default options.
Unfortunately, I don't think I can help much. I use Perl mostly on Linux.
Also, you are using Snow Leopard Server. Perhaps Perl is installed in a different location. That seems unlikely, though. What directories do you have /System/Library/Perl? If your Perl install is incorrect, Xcode isn't going to help. The files you are missing are part of the OS install, not Xcode. -
Rebuilding Qt4 - No rule to make target..
Hello!
I want to make an edit to one source file in qt4 from ABS. - it is gui/kernel/qclipboard_x11.cpp.
There's a 10.000 ms timeout, and I need to change it to something smaller, maybe 1.000 ms.
(It defines how long I have to wait after closing Okular, before I can start another instance. I tried to google a better solution, but there's no useful info.).
I've added a sed command to the PKGBUILD that does it, started the build, and it crashed with this:
make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'util/qabstractsystemtrayiconsys.cpp', needed by '.obj/release-shared/qabstractsystemtrayiconsys.o'. Stop.

Also, I'm not too happy with having to rebuild the entire Qt, but maybe that's the only way to get my changes working.
Any idea how to fix this error?
For more details, the entire log from this failed build can be found here: http://pastebin.com/knkd3dA8

Error : ***no rule to make target all
Hi,
When I build my project in Qnx i encounter this error:
*** No rule to make target all
*** No rule to make target clean
it's an immediate question .please help me
thanks.
Message Edited by zamin on 09-03-2007 04:02 AMHi zamin-
Are you using the Makefile supplied with the MHDDK examples? Which examples are you trying to build? Are you attempting to build using 'make' from the command line, or from some sort of QNX development environment? If you are building from the command line, which directory are you in when you run 'make'?
Thanks-

I can't figure out how to fix this. I'm not sure how to enter in a rule nor where to put it. I've had no issues installing this package in previous versions but for some reason after upgrading the kernel and trying to use the package from the AUR broadcom-wl 5.60.246.6-1 it refuses to work.

I am trying to make a main menu for my project but I don't know where IDVD is located?
I am trying to make a main menu but I read some info. and said I have to do it through IDVD and I tried it but can not find IDVD anywhere so I wanted to know if I have to purchase it or something and I also wanted to know how to create a main menu?
depends on how old your Mac is ...
newer machines do not come along with a pre-installed iDVD (.. and iWeb ..) anymore; you have to purchase a boxed version of iLife11.
if somehow iDVD is installed on your Mac, you should find it in your Apps-folder
(or use Spotlight, search for iDVD) ...- -
How to make the main() thread wait?
I would like to know how to make the main() thread wait for another thread?If I use wait() method in main() method it says "non-static method wait() cannot be referenced from a static context",since main()
is static.Here is an example how you may wait for a Thread in the main -
but be careful, this is no real OO:
public class WaitMain {
// this is the thread class - you may also create
// a runnable - I use a inner class to
// keep my example simple
public static class ThreadWait extends Thread{
public void doSomething(){
synchronized(syncObject){
System.out.println("Do Something");
syncObject.notify();
public void run(){
// sleep 10 seconds - this is
// a placeholder to do something in the thread
try{
sleep(10000);
doSomething();
sleep(10000);
catch(InterruptedException exc){
// this is the object we wait for -
// it is just a synchronizer, nothing else
private static Object syncObject = new Object();
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println("This will start a thread and wait for \"doSomething\"");
ThreadWait t= new ThreadWait();
t.start();
synchronized(syncObject){
try{
// this will wait for the notify
syncObject.wait();
System.out.println("The doSomething is now over!");
catch(InterruptedException exc){
// do your stuff -
How do I make a main menu for a game?
Hi,
I need to make a main menu for this tower defense game that I am making. I have 2 parts to the menu that I need to put together. I have it as follows:
I have a start screen where the player presses the start button. I now need it to take the user to the main menu itself. I have both the start menu and main menu in the same document but on different layers. I have a button labeled as start which I have set up to where when it is clicked, it changes colors but I also need it to hide/show the menu layer. I just need the that start button to take users to the menu layer where I have 3 more buttons which are resume, new, and options. I will need those buttons to go to their different layers also. After users hit the resume or new buttons, I need the game itself to start which I will start making after I figure out the other issues.
I am new to Flash and I really want to learn how to make tower defense games. For now, I am using http://www.ehow.com/how_7788131_make-tower-defense-game-flash.html as a guide to make the game stuff but it doesn't say anything about a main menu. I am using a trial version of Flash Pro CS6 and it is due to expire in 28 days.
Any and all help will be great! Thanks, xp3tp85I used this and it worked:
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
start_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,startF);
function startF (e:MouseEvent):void{
gotoAndStop("main_menu");
On the next layer I used this and it worked too:
back_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick);
function buttonClick(event:MouseEvent):void{
gotoAndStop(1);
Apparently it wont let me use the same code twice on one timeline. Is there any way around this? I need a few more buttons on the main menu for the game. -
How to make the main payload be sent as mail body
Hi,
Currently, I want to send out a mail with several attachments by Mail adapter. And <b>the main payload</b> should be sent out as <b>mail body</b> instead of attachment. I know by default, the main payload is also sent as a attachment. So I used the module AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean to make the main payload be sent as mail body instead of attachment. It does work in case there's no attachment to be sent. However if I want to send<b> a mail with several attachments</b> (the attachment is created in my own adapter module using method message.createPayload()), in this case if I use the module AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean, the main payload is sent as mail body , however meanwhile, it is also sent as a attachment. And the attachment I created is also sent as attachment. This is not expected by me. In this case, I wish <b>the main payload</b> is <b>only sent as mail body</b> and <b>other payload</b> created by me as attachment.
Do you have any idea about it?
Thankshi

Best way to make a main menu?
Hello guys I was wondering if you guys could help me.
Im trying to make a main menu which is displayed to the user when they load my applet.
Im using 3 JButtons on one applet.
I have 3 separate applets I want to be accessible by clicking a button on the menu.
So the user presses a button and they are displayed the required applet. I have each applet working separately but cannot get the menu I require to work.
So does anyone have any idea how to make JButtons show another applet in place of the menu?
It would be great if each applet could pass a value between each other too such as a score.
Any help would be great
Thanks
pbd2I would call a JavaScript function from the Java applet to set the visibility to "hidden" or "visible" of the tag the corresponding applet, here's some pseudo code:
<div id="applet1">
<applet archive=blabla.jar ... width=... height..>
</applet>
</div>
<script language=JavaScript>
function doHide( appletID ) {
document.getElementById( appletID ).style.visibility="hidden";//"visible" to get the opposite effect
//should call this from Java
doHide( "applet1" );
</script> -
Hi all, I'm trying to download a film from iTunes onto my iPad but downloaded the HD version instead of SD and don't have the room to download it. Have removed everything I can to make space but still need another 1.2 GB. Is there any way I can delete it so I can delete the version I wanted, or even better change to the SD version? The film is still queuing in the downloads list. I've tried edit and delete but that doesn't work. I also can't re-download the film from iTunes.
Any suggestions very welcome!Try to connect in recovery mode, explained in this article:

Before that, back up your device, explained here:

My HP printer stopped working in OSX 10.7.4
I downloaded 10.7.4 tonight and now my HP Inkjet printter/scanner no longer works. I am directed to download the new driver from Apple Software Update but that driver only has a printer driver--nothing for the scanner!
