Make small icons for video's

I'm trying to fit alot of video clips on one page.
How can I make a small picture or button and title, so I can post alot of videos on one page?

You may want to consider a different editing and creation app for this page instead of using iWeb.
iWeb has an annoying habit of not setting the autoplay (html tag) to "true" so your visitors will have to "click" the QuickTime controller to begin playback.
And multiple movies in a single page would continue to download even if the viewer doesn't click the "play" button. Waste of bandwidth and a very slow loading page.
What you probably want is to use simple javascript to open new windows as viewers decide what they want to watch from your listings. This would require a new html file for each QuickTime file.
Or, another method, use a QuickTime "poster movie". It acts as either a placeholder (movie plays back inside the dimensions you set) inside the current page or (best) "targets" the QuickTime Player app.
This second method saves you the bandwidth (viewers are only downloading the file they want) and would also allow the same graphic (click to play) file on the page.
An example of the javascript method to link to a new page holding QT content:
http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/bushbashquiz/
Each click opens a new html page that holds the page code for the QuickTime file as well as allowing you to set its dimensions.
An example of a poster movie that targets the QuickTime Player:
http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/B/index.html
These allow you to set other movie properties (mine uses full screen) in the "linked" file. My example also "closes" the movie after playback which would return your page visitors to their browser to click another example.
A "custom built" html file is best for this work and iWeb was not used in my examples.

  • I have trouble seeing the small icons for the program functions in this tutorial.

    Hello,
I have my assets from an older site, and want to start a site desktop site in muse. Is there a program ( maybe a book ) that can walk me through this step by step, instead of the Katie's Cafe demo / tutorial?
The problem with the tutorial is in the dark interface I have trouble seeing the small icons for the program functions.
I really need to setup a new site as soon as possible, but am not getting there right now.
    Thanks.

  • Is it worth it to make custom icons for a custom control/indicator?

I was making custom icons (well not very custom, but still at least somet ext) for controls and indicators, when I realized that the only times you see them are when you open the control, itself, ot if you hover over it in the project with context help on.
    So the question is:
Is it worth it to create a custom icon for each custom control you make, if it will be seen only rarely?  (The exception being a cluster, since, in the later versions of LabVIEW, you can actually represent your cluster on the BD as the icon you made for it, so it definitely IS worth it to make an icon for it.)
    Thanks!

I'd like to add another time that you see the control's icon, is when it is a type def cluster, and you have it as a constant on the block diagram.  Then double click the border to shrink the cluster.  It will shrink to the size of the control's icon.
I also hardly ever make a control icon.  Only when it is on the palette in a reuse package.
Yeah,t hat's what I meant in my original post, although you CAN represent a cluster constant on the BD as an icon - but it's just the little thing on the bottom of the typdef'd cluster because it obviously has no actual icon.

  • Is it possible to make an icon for a movie on the home screen?

Is there a way to make a direct icon for movie instead of going into the "Videos" icon?

If there is a website that plays your movie, then you can go to safari, type the website in, open the page, then tap the share arrow, then tap add to home screen. Thats as close to it that you can get.

  • Smaller Icons for Adobe Reader?

I am using Adobe Reader on a Netbook. The Select and Zoom toolbar's icons take up an inordinate amount of real estate on the screen. I have searched but have not been able to find how to make these icons smaller. Is it possible that their size cannot be changed (paid version maybe)? If not from Adobe itself, is there workaround or a third party which offers this functionality?
    Thanks for any input.

You csn probably change things so that the toolbars are hidden, but you
cannot change the size of the icons.

  • How do i make an icon for a new genre

I'd like to create a new genre in iTunes for my collection,  and would like to create an "icon" similiar to the ones that are plugged into iTunes already.  I know if there isn't one it will default to an album cover.  Is there a way of doing this?  I want to make a genre for 'meditation', which I know how to do...I just want it to display like the other genres.
    Thanks in advance,
    GuiseppeNW

iTunes comes with a limited number of pre-defined genre images aka badges. Some of these images are associated with more than one genre, e.g. Alternative is connected to Alternative, Alternative & Punk, Alternative Country, Alternative Folk, Alternative Metal, Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative Punk, Alternative Rock, AlternRock, Punk, Punk Rock, Punk/Folk, Punk/Folk/Reggae and no doubt many others that aren't represented in my library. The dance image is linked to Dance, House, Techno & Trance or genres begining with those words.
If there is no default icon for a particular genre then itunes will display a cover from one of the albums with that genre. If you run your mouse pointer slowly across the image from one side to the other it will change to display the covers of each of the albums in that genre in turn. You can right/option click on any of these to Set Default Grid Artwork and that image will then be used to represent that genre. Use Clear Default Grid Artwork to reset things.
If you want to add your own custom genre badges, using artwork that is not in your albums, then place the images you want to use in the folder C:\Program Files\itunes\iTunes.Resources and edit the file C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\Genres.plist using something like Notepad++ to connect the required genres to your new images.

  • I do not have any icon for videos or movies on my IPad 3

I do not have any icon on my IPad 3 for videos or movies.  How to get it
    Message was edited by: carboran

If you mean on the home screen, you should probably get an iOS update. If you mean within specific apps, you should probably close down the app, reset it and try again. If you mean in general, you should reset the iPad (home and hold button together until apple logo shows). If you mean in life, you probably need to get to an apple store to get your iPad looked at or borrowing a pair of glasses.
Hope this helps and good luck.

  • 2 questions : How do I know if a video in Flash is streaming? 2nd - how can I make an overlay for video?

    Two questions :
    1) I have created a QT.mov, imported it into Flash, but after
thinking about it, I want to be sure it is streaming for the web.
How can I be sure of that? If it is not, what code can I put to
    make sure it is loading?
    2) How can I make an overlay for the video that disappears as
soon as the user clicks on the play button?

    1. Without a flash ciommunication server for TRUE streaming
of the file, what you get is called Progressive streaming. This
means once the video begins to download it can start playing before
the file has completely downloaded to the user. There are good
descriptions (including pros and cons) of this here:
    http://www.mediacollege.com/video/streaming/overview.html
    2. If you have the file set to start automatically there will
be no need for the user to push the play button. You could just put
a graphic on top of the video component, and use actionscript to
make the graphic invisible when the play button is pushed.

  • How do I get back my small icon for one click completion of my name and address etc. I lost it when I got back my web address bar

I was getting frustrated that I had no address bar to put in an address and go straight to the page, but in restoring that I have lost my small icon which I clicked on when I wanted to complete all my personal data on the many sites such as the council, shopping sites etc. It used to fill in my name, address, telephone number, email address, etc. It was a small square firefox icon. "small pencil" - Is this the '''exact''' extension you have installed? <br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/autofill-forms/
I don't know where you are getting '''Ctrl + Q''' from - that extension uses '''''Alt + J''''' to trigger the 'autofill' feature when the cursor is in the first form field.
'''FillForms''' extension doesn't seem to have a "small pencil" associated with it. <br />

  • Icons for video podcast episodes

How do I create an icon that will appear in iTunes for individual episodes of a podcast? I've done it before but completely by accident. I'm sure it is something that I need to do on the front end before uploading the episode. Currently, the episodes that do not have an icon show a black square, which is, I'm assuming, the first frame of the video.

You are not telling what program you are using to make your podcast but assuming you are making podcast with garageband, you just have to drag and drop any image on the artwork at the left down side and this will be you EPISODE artwork

  • Best way to make small icons anywhere in the screen.

    Hi,
I'm trying to make for my application sort of like a panel where the user will have in the background a JPG image that will be a map and on top of that I need to have smaller images or icons that will be nodes of a network and those nodes will have to attributes that will determine the position in the screen to fit the map underneath.
Also every node will have to be able to be clicked to open another window that will contain data from that node.
I'm new to Java and I don't know which is the best way to do that in Java. Can someone point me to the right direction?
I thought of using Icons or maybe buttons with the node image on top. But I'm not sure if that is the best approach.
    Thank you.

  • Make Smaller Icons

Little something I learned today that is pretty common knowledge I'm assuming, but I didn't know about it and have been working with LabVIEW for a couple of years now. Therefore, I assumed some others wouldn't know about it either. While there are wiki's out there that explain this, I know I usually come to these forums before googling so I thought I'd put something here.
In a recent project had a very simple action engine that appends update strings in multiple different threads, based on what has happened within the program, and displays them to a user in another thread that is there specifically for front panel updates. However, this action engine was way too clunky and took up too much space on my block diagram for something only having two input terminals, and 1 output terminal. Doing the following cleaned stuff up incredibly, especially in case structures where the only reason they were taking up extra bd space was because of this action engine...
First, show your connector panes and make sure your have the bold area around the terminals you want to use. Then make sure you have each of the icons circled in red looking the same (you can do this by selecting one then copying it and pasting it into the other two boxes)
after that, voila, add it to your bd.
If anyone else has any other tip/tricks for icon editing feel free to add them.

This was a good topic to mention.  It is one of those things that people might not think of.
One tip (and I think you basically said this, but not so clearly) is to make sure the X of the connectors you want to use are within the boundary of the icon you are creating.  In your case where you use one of the top connectors, the X is slightly below your rectangle, thus you see a bit of the wire passing through your icon and hitting the X that is now below your visible icon.  To correct this, you may want to pick a different connector pattern such as the 4-1-0-4 rotated 90 degrees.
It has 4 connectors across the top that have small enough squares so that all their X connection points would fall within your icon.

Agreed. I should have mentioned this as random whitespace can look a little funny . Also, to comment on your first sentence. That is why I posted it, because often there are things that might seem common, but people don't know about/ think to look into further. LabVIEW is a big package and finding all the little things that may help can often be overwhelming. That kind of goes along with the post from Dennis. Yes, there is something about it in the LabVIEW help. But as we have seen on these forums, often people don't bother to look (as I didn't bother to for a while). Therefore, I hope this post can just make people aware that this is an option thats available. Maybe next time they will think, hey I could use that idea I saw on NI's forums.

  • Using a Video Button. Do I have to make a timeline for video clip?

I am just learning how to use Encore CS6 and I have a question.
When I add a Video Button to my menu and want add a video clip inside that button do I have to make that clip its own Timeline or can I keep the clip in my Project Panel and just Drag and Drop  it into the Video Button itself?
    Thanks in advance
    Encore CS 6
    Power Mac Intel Xeon
    10GB RAM

Thanks, but I have another question:
Let's say I have made made 20 new individual 30 Second QT Movies (or QT Reference Movies to save Hard Drive Space), and I want to use them on a Menu that I will constuct using a Template Menu and Submenus found in Encore CS 6.
I make my Menu ans Submenus and put 20 Video Buttons on 4 Submenus (5 on each Submenu). I import all 20 of my Newly Made QT Movies that I am going to use for the Video Buttons.
In order to place them in each Video Button, I would have to make 20 Different Timelines each consisting on an Individual 30 second QT movie and linking each timelone to a different button?
    Is that how it works?
Do I have to have these timelines open, or can I just link to them inside the Project Pane in Encore?
Can I put all 20 QT movies on one Timeline, add markers to the beginning of each one and link the Video Buttons to each indivifual QT movie?
    Thanks in advamce

  • Does anyone know how to make an icon for a new keyboard layout?

I have added a couple of keyboard layouts to my input sources and would dearly provide them with distinctive icons, but all icon makers I find on the net seem to cater to PCs only.

Going to the App Store, there is a link for support.   That takes me to a facebook page:
    https://www.facebook.com/pages/Friendly-for-Netflix/
Which when I lookup the info, takes me to:
    http://www.oecoway.com/
Since there are no support links on the latter link, I would just message the owner of the Facebook page and tell them of your troubles.  If they are non-responsive, you may want to just as the App Store reverse the charge, with the feedback that the developer is non-responsive to user questions.  If it is functional for the $5 you paid, just keep it, and hope for an update you can use.

  • How do i get video from my sony hx100 digital camera to my mac? after connecting the camera via the supplied usb cable, iMovie shows icons for 5 videos, but none will load.

i've connected the camera to the mac using the supplied usb cable. imovie shows 5 icons for videos but all of them have the red circle with slash through them and the box to import them is grayed out.

Get a nice Sony miniDV camcorder. It is not too expensive; it is small and easy to carry around to shoot your video. Most importantly, it will be instantly compatible with iMovie. You don't have to install any software, just connect it via FireWire (Sony calls this iLink) and you are good to go!
I have had several Sonys and love them. You don't need one with fancy editing capabilities because you will edit your movies in iMovie. Just be sure that it has AV In and Out so you can import and export back to the camcorder.
My current version is the small DCR HC-26. There are newer versions of that HC-30something and 40something. Look at the specs on Sony's website
Some of them require the use of a dock to import and export. I am not really fond of that feature. I like just connecting directly to the camera.
