Making 8.5 x 14 copies on C 6180 HP Photosmart.

How can I make an 8.5 x 14 copy on a C6180 Photosmart all-in-one?  I feed the original in the above feeder and it only copies an 8.5 x 11 area of the original.

I'm seeing a lot of comments posted on the 309g's ink use, but your experience seems most like my own.  I ran into another 309g owner at an Office Depot and that individual reported the same sort of results.  My question is this:  at what elevation is the town in which you live?  I (and the person I met) live at about 7500 feet and the 564 cartridges act as though the ink is is actually evaporating.
Thanks

  • Retrieve email copies from server

I use Outlook Express as email client on my PC.  An operating system error has just led to all my emails being wiped from the Inbox.  Although I can read emails on the website, I should like to retrieve copies from the server to my client, but don't seem able to do this.   Would greatly appreciate any help!

    1. The easiest way to get all your emails downloaded again is to set up an account in OE called say "version2" with the same settings as your original account making sure that the "Leave copies on the server is set".
You may like to untick in the properties for the original account the "include this account when downloading mail and synchronising " Box.
    2. If you have recently been asked to compact your your email folders to save space by OE then you may be lucky and find a backup copy of your Inbox in your recycle bin.
    3. Are you sure that your emails have gone from your machine and not that they are still there but OE is not picking them up ?

  • *** Burning PAL DVD copies in North America

A client of mine would like to provide me with her 2-disc DVD set in order for me to make copies for her. The 2-disc set is in PAL format and I'm in North America. Normally I would make a disc image of an NTSC DVD and burn copies, is it the same process for PAL discs? Do I need to do anything differently if I'm making PAL or NTSC DVD copies?

    Hi there
No you don't need to do anything special, the build has already been done, you're just duplicating the files. Happy burning.

  • I tried to download old purchases onto my ipod on my pc screen it popped up with this "You can download past purchases on this computer with just one apple IDevery 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different apple ID for 6 days"

Help is needed i payed a lot for my purchases !!!

You can use multiple AppleIDs to purchase new music but you are limited as to how frequently you can change authorizations for re-downloading  past purchases.  It may well be a measure to deter piracy by stopping a group of people from going around to a friend's computer and downloading purchases on the other person's computer.  It is easy to avoid by making sure you have backup copies on drives at home so you never need to redownload anything.

  • Can see files on Mac Mini from Macbook Aire on same network

I can see the MacMini in the side bar from the Air but when I click through i can only see the public folders.  I have File Sharing checked in the System Preferences so I dont understand why i cannot see the files on the mini.  I can only see the drop box in the public folders and it wont even allow me to access that even if i wanted to.
Is there something else other than check file sharing in system preferences that I need to do
Also, I have an external drive attached to the MacMini which is not visible from the Macbook Air, not sure if that is the same problem
Thanks for any advice you can offer
    Andrew

Note that there's a difference between sharing and syncing.
Sharing will allow you to access the files on your Mini from your MBP, but the files won't be on your MBP when you take it somewhere else.
Syncing is making both Macs have identical copies of files, so that a change on one Mac makes a change on the other Mac.
If you've got a large LightRoom catalogue and limited space on your MBP, then you want sharing. The link above should get you started with that.
For syncing, I recommend BitTorrent Sync, which is free. It's basically "DropBox without the cloud". You select a folder to sync, and then whenever your two Macs are on the same network, any file in that folder that changes is synced to the other Mac.
I use it to keep my entire Documents folder synced between my Mini and MBP.

You may need to be careful about modifying the same document on both computers at the same time, though I believe BS does handle this in some way. Also, if you're syncing an app's data library, then some database files (e.g. with computer-specific data like file path names) may not sync well.
Of course, you could use DropBox, though you'll need to subscribe if you want more than a couple of GB.

  • Act now if you want to keep your email address

Have followed all the instructions in the email to keep my talk21 account. Supposed to get an email saying they have my request and if not do it again. Have done it 2 times no and no confirmation. Anyone else got a confirmation that bt have your request to keep a talk21 address? Just worried as I use this account for everything so can't afford for it to be got rid of

Going by some of the other posts, BT are snowed under with this mess of their own making and are unable to cope with the demand. It may be that you will get an email conformation once the request has been actioned. If you haven't heard anything by tomorrow I would try again and if that fails then it loks like you will have to endure the call centre  0800 111 4567

  • New to TV, questions

OK, I buy movies from the TV and they download to the TV. Then they sync to my iTunes Library on my iMac (I now have 2 copies?) I change the sync settings to only sync the latest un-watched movie and they disappear from the TV...
My iTunes Library shows 2 copies of the movies in my "Movies" folder, one copy in the "Purchased on TV" folder.
Can somebody go through the basics with me please...
Where are the movies stored? I have 160GB TV that is showing 876MB of video... even though I bought three movies...
What setting do I use to store my purchased content on the TV and not my iMac HD?
If I'm not understanding the system "as a whole", feel free to let me know as well...
Thanks for your time and input.

Ok, does sound like you are misunderstanding the drive on the AppleTV.
To but it very simple, it is NOT a storage area to store your files nor is it a place for backup. It is a syncing drive with two purposes.
First purpose, if you buy/rent from the AppleTV, it does need it to download to.
Second, it is there to sync content to.
Why does one sync. One syncs to get a local copy onto the AppleTV for when you have your iTunes on your computer closed or if you take the AppleTV off the network (many like to bring it on travel) to have a local "copy" to access when not on it's network or your main iTunes library (on your computer) is closed.
When you are set to sync, then anything you buy will be transfered to your computer as your computer and your drives are you REAL copies that you are responsible for making sure you have backup copies of etc. The AppleTV at anytime can have an issue, need to be restored to factory resets etc and thus all content erased. The copy on your computer is your real copy and nothing on the AppleTV should be considered a backup file nor can you put files onto it that you don't keep on your network. If you sync a file, but then delete it from your computer, it will delete from the AppleTV. The AppleTV can only keep synced content on it if it exists in your real library.
Now with that said, the other option for the AppleTV is if one bought it and never planned on hooking it to sync with a computer, they can just buy/rent from AppleTV and since there is no computer associated with it, it stores movies on it and thus will eventually fill up.
First thing I had to do after getting the AppleTV and seeing the amount of content I started getting, I had to go buy a external drive for my computer (1TB drive) and put my library on it and that is where all my content is now and I have syncing over to the AppleTV.
Now if your computer you sync with is always on and you leave iTunes open, the AppleTV will list/show all content in your library even if some of the content is not synced.
So for me, I sync 10 most recent movies, 10 most recent TV shows and all music (and some photos).
So on the AppleTV drive I have the most recent stuff I got (most likely what I want to watch). IF my computer goes offline or iTunes gets closed, my AppleTV will at least show my newest stuff. But while iTunes is open on my computer, I will see everything. If I play something that is synced, it will play from the AppleTV drive, if I pick something that is not synced, it will stream and I won't notice a difference.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I sync files on Mac mini and MacBook pro

I want to sync files between my Mac Mini and my MacBook Pro. Is there a way to do this? Primarily, I want to access photos in my LightRoom Catalog from both platforms. Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Restoring the data from table after deletion

    Hi,
If  I delete the data from the database (using delete command) , is there anyway to restore that data. I know it looks bit weird but I'm checking whether there is any technique in abap by which we can restore the data.
    Your help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kranthi.

    Hi Kranthi,
When you delete lines of a database table using the DELETE command, the process is only complete after a database commit. Before the commit, any database change can be reset using a database rollback. To be able to perform a database rollback, a database system must generate a copy of each database object before making a change. These copies are kept in a rollback log until the end of an LUW. An overflow of the rollback log always results in the termination of the transaction which caused it. For example, attempting to remind a large number of defaulting customers in the same transaction could trigger such an error. You can only solve this problem by dividing the set of database updates into several smaller units ( LUWs) for the database system. You use this statement if you cannot be certain that all the database changes have been executed correctly.
    For your information :
An LUW begins each time you start a transaction, when the database changes of the previous LUW have been confirmed (database commit) or when the database changes of the previous LUW have been cancelled (database rollback)
An LUW ends when the database changes have been confirmed (database commit) or when the database changes have been canceled (database rollback). Within an LUW, database changes are not made until after a database commit. Prior to this, any database change can be canceled by a database rollback.
    Cheers

  • How do I sync files on N95 with OVI?

    Hi,
I used to sync my briefcase between my pc (win7) and my phone (N95) using PC Suite. I fail to find this option on OVI?

If not, what other option is available?

  • Issue with Color Management and Print Module

The is a repost per request from a comment on Julieanne Kost's blog...
Having sticky output settings can be useful but now that LR has a color managed workflow, it introduces some problems. For example, if a Proof Copy is created and edited to a particular profile, then that copy is taken into the Print Module, if the output profile that has “stuck” from the previous job does not match you have a problem. It would be nice if the behavior for proof copies would be to automatically match the editing profile or at least warn of a mismatch. And while it is nice to be able to create a Saved Print with all the output parameters, it would be helpful to be able to create saved sets of “Print Job” settings assuming that they will be consistent for a particular printer/ink/paper combination (and whatever “Print Adjustment” you have found to your liking) then easily applied to any image being prepared for output. Perhaps a “save setting” selection under the “Print to:” menu.

So what you propose is the templates are proof copy sensitive and if they are setup for profile A but the proof copy describes profile B, then everything but the template defined profile is honored? I could get behind that idea (but what if one selects multiple VC’s with differing profiles and goes into Print?).
That's pretty much it. It does get complicated quickly as you look at multiple VCs or (and I think we need to start making the distinction between proof copies and ordinary virtual copies) if you bring a mixture of PCs and VCs into the print module. I would suggest that the default behavior be to set output profile of the PC as defined in the PC and retain the "sticky" behavior for ordinary VCs.
I also think that having the ability to save a "Print Copy" may change what we need out of the templates and perhaps their overall function should be re-evaluated.
The VC name should show you the profile used for soft proofing if you have the overlay on. That helps too. My concern are those who work with these VC’s and the text overlay is off.
I'm not getting that behavior. The only place the copy name shows up in the print module is in the filmstrip header. Maybe I have a preference set wrong somewhere... Still, I'd rather the software take care of making the match rather than having to double check to make sure I haven't inadvertently changed the profile somehow (i.e. clicking on a template just to see how it would look on another size paper).

  • Partition Maps.

I am not really confident about using Disk Utility when it comes to Multiple Volumes and I have had many problems. My first was with NEC 4 GB trying to get two Language versions of W98 and mixing files.
However Mac seems easy ,but I want to bring this topic up because I do not find much about unusual Partition schemes.
One issue is using Disk Utility from the Gray Install DVDs part of the Bundle that came with the computer. And when you install and update and use Disk Utility from the Applications, I keep reading conflicting advice on which we should use to repair permissions and Disk. It sounds logical to repair from an external source but the original DVD is not updated and after a chunk of updates on certain OSX from 10.4 to 6 with Java and so on the OS has changed from the original DVD and so repairing permissions needs using the one in Applications.
When it comes to repairing the Partition map ,then it is difficult because if I use my 10.6 to partition 4 partitions on a 500 GB HD then install Lion, mountain lion , and the dreaded Mavericks that crippled my partition map. so in that order then So after ML the Partition Map changes ,it hides the Physical HD and the 2 lions are faded because if you use the Snow leopard DVD Disk Utility it can not mount them. That is obvious but how can I repair the Partition map created by Snowleopard or is there another way around this ?
Apple is going too fast ,every time I get used to using an OS and each one has different programs And W D warned against using Mavs with Hard disk.

    Hi there!
Both Macs should be able to use the drive if it's partitioned
and then formatted with the HFS+ which both can see. And
if you intend on being able to use the externally enclosed
hard disk drive as a bootable drive (for reverse diagnostics
and also making bootable system clones or copies) it may
be better if the unit has a boot-capability and is FireWire.
The Intel® Mac would probably do OK with a USB 2.0 as
a bootable external; but the PowerPC G-series needs FW.
Some externals with FireWire and USB 2.0 can support
booting from them, given proper partitioning. When you
    go to buy a drive, be sure they have a good return policy;
in case someone says their drive will do this & that, but
later shows it can't or won't. I like my LaCie FW Porsche
external, w& its own AC power supply, for PPC boot clones.
If you do more than just off-machine archives, the partition
scheme and other details become more important. And the
ability to make and use bootable clones of OSX can be nice.
(Rules apply; so if you go there, read up on this aspect.)
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Printing Page Numbers With A Sub Report

Hi, I have a Crystal Report (XI) that includes a subreport which is identical to the main report because I am actually making the report print 2 copies of the same report with different critera in the detail section only. On the main report I have a Page Header section which I am using the special field "PAGE N of M", so on all pages of the report it is printing this page number. I  My issue is listed below:
First page of report                    "Fred's Place"                 Page 1 of  2 (Correct)
Second page of report              "Fred's Place"                 Page 2 of  2 (Correct)
Third page of report                   "Fred's Place"                 Page 3 of  2 (Not Correct)
Fourth  page of report                "Fred's Place"                 Page 4 of  2 (Not Correct)
The first/second page are printing correctly with data being pulled from the main report, but the third/fourth pages are not printing correctly with data pulled from the sub report. My question is how to get the third/fourth pages to print as follows:
Third page of report                   "Fred's Place"                 Page 1 of  2 (Correct)
Fourth  page of report                "Fred's Place"                 Page 2 of  2 (Correct)
    Thanks for your help
    Jim Dyer

    Jim,
Try passing the total page count from the main report to the subreport via a shared variable. Then set up a counter formula in the fake PH of the subreport and convert the counter and the shared variable so that it reads page 1(counter) of 2(shared variable)
You should also be able to suppress the extra pagenofms in the main report when pagenumber > totalpagecount
