Making a hyperlink open the linked page in a new browser window

Does anyone know if iWeb allows a way to create a hyperlink such that it will open a new browser window rather than navigating away from your site?
Thanks for any and all help.

  • Link to another page in a new browser window

    Hey Guys,
    I wanted to know how to set up a link to another page that loads up in a new browser window.
    This what my code looks like:
    <!--
    htp.print('<center>' || :P1_11 );
    htp.print('
    --!>
    This works but the problem is that it goes straight to the login window and asks the user to login again and then it goes to the desired page. Is there a way to set up the link so it goes directly to the new page in a new browser without having the user to log in again?

    Have you tried using the #SESSION# substitution string in the URL instead of hard-coding the session ID into the link?
    By the way, why is so much of your stuff in anonymous blocks/procedures? Just curious.

  • How to show an HTML page in a new browser window

    Hi Everyone,
    I am trying to show a page generated by some servlet in a new browser window when the button is clicked on the applet. I can accomplish that by using AppletContext as in:
    myApplet.getAppletContext().showDocument(servletUrl, "_blank");
    The only problem with this is that I don't have any control over how the new browser window is displayed. Using JavaScript I can set size, hide toolbar and address bar, etc. But how can I hide address bar on a new browser window generated in this scenario?
    I tried to call intermediate servlet from my applet which in turn generates a new window by writing out JavaScript code. This way I lose my previous page with the applet even though a new window is displayed the way I wanted but I want this new browser window to act as a pop-up box and my applet page stay on screen. Also, is there a way to send a POST request from an applet by using AppletContext.showDocument() method?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Y.M.

    Did you ever figure out a solution for this? I too would like to open a new browser window to act as a pop-up box and my applet page stay on screen. If anyone has any thoughts on how to do this, please post! thanks.

  • Opening a bounded taskflow in a new browser window.

    Hello,
    I have links in my application that open the application in a new browser window.
    window.open(/MFRAME/faces/adf.task-flow?adf.tfId=moduleDataMan&adf.tfDoc=/WEB-INF/flows/moduleDataMan/moduleDataMan.xml, "w"+new Date().getTime());
    When I open the link in the new window all beans become with null values.
    It used to work before a big list of bug fixes. But somehow this broke. Any ideas what can be the issue. No errors in the log when I open a new window. The old window is working without problems. Only one of the bounded taskflows is working after open in a new window.
    Any ideas.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to open the previous page in a new tab that is right next to the current tab?

    Let's say I'm currently on page X, and the previous page I came from was page Y. Is there a keyboard shortcut to open page Y in a new tab right next to the tab with page X?
    Currently my only solution is to hold down cmd (for mac) and click the back arrow button, but again, I'm looking for a keyboard shortcut. I know CTRL + T opens up the same page in a tab right next to the current one, but I have to wait for it to load then press backspace to go back one page.

  • Firefox STILL does not open the home page when a new tab is selected

    I have just 'upgraded' to FF4 and expected that the irritating 'new tab homepage load situation' would have been resolved by now: sadly, it looks to STILL be around.
    MS IE has been loading the homepage DIRECTLY when a new tab is selected for about FOUR YEARS now, so I'm staggered that such a simple but very useful feature is not available in Firefox.
    The obvious question is WHY??
    In IE, you don't have to keep hitting the home page button to carry out a search in google when a new tab is selected, and IE does NOT need an 'add-on' to incorporate this functionality; it really is quite irritating that the function is still not built-in to FF, and the coding requiret to incorporate the function ain't rocked science Mozilla people - WHY has this not been put into effect by now?

    Some people prefer a blank tab because it takes no time to load. Some people prefer their home page. Some people prefer a list of most frequently used sites. It would be convenient if all of these options were built in, but obviously no one stepped up and made it a priority.
    By the way, another way to search in a new tab is: Using the search box (on the toolbar), after typing your query, either press Alt+Enter or Ctrl+click the magnifying glass. This opens the search in a new tab and saves that step.

  • No longer opens webpages and links in tabs, but new browser windows instead. I have the check box for tabs selected and have FF 3.6.8 on a MAC?

    Tabbed browsing doesn't work. Opens in a new browser instead

    I want to ask for more information. Does File - New Tab open a new tab? Does the issue happen in [[Safe mode]]?

  • I need to open up the same web site in two separate tabs. Since I upgraded to Firefox 6 when I try to open the web page in a new tab from the list in the drop down in the address window it only gives be the option to switch to the tab already have open.

    When I go the drop down from the address window, rather than showing the URL of the website I want open in a second tab it says "Switch to tab." But I don't want to switch to the tab - I want to open a second tab on the same URL. If I want to open it a second time I have to manually key in the address. Is there some way to turn this off so I can open up the second tab using the same address from the drop down? I have always been able to do this with previous versions of Firefox.

  • "Go to URL" not opening in a new browser window

    We are using FrameMaker 10 and RoboHelp 9 in a Windows 7 environment.
    When we create hypertext links, we use the "Go to URL" command.  According to the FrameMaker 10 online help, this is what the command is supposed to do: "Launches browser and displays the specified Web page."
    Then we publish the content to RoboHelp's WebHelp.
    When we see the hypertext link in the WebHelp/HTML output, it looks like this: http://www.adobe.com
    When we click it, the Web page appears inside the content frame of the WebHelp.  It does not open a new browser window.
    We can manually go into the html file and look at the hypertext link.  It looks like this in the WebHelp output:
    <span class="FM_Link"><a href="http://www.adobe.com">www.adobe.com</span>
    In order to manually change the link so that it opens the Web page in a new browser window, we can edit the link as follows:
    <span class="FM_Link"><a href="http://www.adobe.com" target="_blank">www.adobe.com</span>
    After we manually edit the HTML file, save it, launch the WebHelp, and click the hypertext link...it now opens the Web page in a new browser window.
    Is there a way to create the hypertext link in FrameMaker so that the WebHelp output will open the Web page in a new browser window?
    Thank you in advance!
    Tim

    Please see the previous posts in this thread to review how you create hyperlinks in FrameMaker that open the Web page in a new browser window.
    The problem is this: If you publish the exact same file to PDF, the hyperlinks will not work.
    The properties (syntax) of the hyperlinks in PDF output need to look like this: http://www.adobe.com
    The hyperlink syntax in WebHelp (in FrameMaker) needs to look like this: http://www.adobe.com" target="_blank
    (...so when they are published to Webhelp, they look like this: "http://www.adobe.com" target="_blank")
    Other than going into either the HTML or the PDF output and manually changing each hyperlink URL syntax for the specific output, is there a syntax that opens a new browser window in both PDF and HTML with one single "Go to URL" command?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

  • How to open the link in new firefox window for web desktop based application? Or how to open the mail/website/rss link in new firefox window

    I am using the firefox 3.6. My problem is that I am using the web desktop and few web desktop based application directly opens link. If I click on rss link than it opens in same window, so no longer access to web desktop. I want to open any kind of link in new window instead of same window. I have tired to change the value of browser.link.open_newwindow, browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction but doesn't work. Also gone through the https://developer.mozilla.org/en/window.open but not sure where to do this in web desktop based application or firefox where we connect the web desktop?
    Is there any way to open the link every time in new firefox window?

    Hi Joseph,
    the HTMLB link object misses the support for onClientClick through the tag lib, see hbj:link without onClientClick ? and OnClientClick Event for Link HTMLB Component for similiar problems and workarounds.
    With this workaround, you can call for example an AbstractPortalComponent, implement doOnNodeReady (with an empty doContent method) and return the PDF, settings the content type on the http before etc.
    Hope it helps

  • Open discoverer report in new browser window and without connections page

    Hi All,
    We are using Oracle 11g Discoverer 11.1.1.4.  Requirement is to open the discoverer report in a new browser window and without connections page.
    When we are running discoverer reports with this parameters we unwantedly get the connections page of the discoverer plus which we don't want.
    Went through the documentation given in this page and followed it still the issue persists, and i see couple of threads with my issue and no updates.
    This excerpt is from the documentation available in the link

  • Opening Default Topic page in a new window

    Hi there,
    I am new to RoboHelp HTML. I have recently started using it
    for work and was asked to look into something.
    I am using version 7.
    The problem we have is that the RoboHelp html files are being
    incorporated into a web application. There is a link in the
    application called "User Guide". This link opens up the RoboHelp
    html files in the same browser window as the application.
    Therefore, when the user wishes to go back to the application or
    close the help files, he/she can't because it's all in one window
    and the application has session (so it wont let you go back to the
    application if you are in the help).
    I know it's possible to simply add a Target="_blank" to the
    actual "User Guide" link on the application side - for it to open
    the help files in a new browser window.
    However, I wanted to know if there is any way to configure
    the RoboHelp HTML to start the inital page - default topic in a new
    window from the actual RoboHelp software.
    Can someone shed some light on this please?
    I hope my question is clear enough, like I said, I am new to
    RoboHelp so my apologies if I haven't explained myself clearly
    enough or used the right words.
    Anyways, let me know.
    Thanks!

    Hi Estel-mm and welcome to our community
    Your requirement cannot be met with simple use of RoboHelp
    HTML. It will likely require hand crafting some special JavaScript
    function to make it work. And here's the rub. Assuming you get it
    to work, it may have an adverse effect in that if you configure the
    default topic to open this way and your end user just happens to
    land on that Default topic again, poof! Another new window.
    Just a thought... Rick

  • Drill to link - How can integrate the new browser window inside the report

    Hi, I'm using Discoverer Plus/Viewer 10.1.2.48.18 and I just created successfully a "Drill to Link to an Internet Page" related to my field "Ticket Id"
    So, when, from Viewer, I select the link, a new tab from a new browser session is opend and I see all the details related to the Ticket Id chosen.
    This is right because on the manual is written:
    Discoverer behaves as follows: if you drill out to an Internet page, Discoverer displays the Internet page in a new browser window.
    Now my question is this: is there a way or a workaround to integrate the new browser window's content inside my report ?
    In other words, instead to see the all the Ticket id details (graphs included) in a new browser window, my customer asked me to see these details inside the same report, just below the field with the link.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks

  • How to make a linked report to be shown in a new browser window

    I created two portal reports and a dynamic link between them. By
    clicking on
    the linked column of the report A (master list), I successfully
    got to the
    report B (detail report). The problem I have is that the report
    B is shown on
    the same browser window as the report A. I am wondering if there
    is a way that
    I can open the report B in a new browser window.
    Thank you very much for your help!

    <p>When I use an oracle link from 1 report to another, portal adds 47 spaces after the link. When processed in a browser it displays as 47 %20's right after the binded variable.</p><p>
    Using the concatenation method worked in that it opened in a new broswer window and binded the variable correctly, but returned no rows.
    I manually appended 47 %20's in the address bar and it returned all the data correctly.</p>
    <p>
    For testing purposes I added 47 %20's to the sql code, hoping it would add them to the link. It did, but with many more %20's in addition so didn't work.</p>
    <p>
    I got it to work by adding just a '%' after the variable name. Here is the code that seems to work for me.</p>
    <span style="background-color:#cccccc;">
    < a href="http://PORTALLOCATION/SCHEMA.RPT_NAME.show?p_arg_names=BINDVARIABLENAME&p_arg_values='||VARIABLE_TO_BIND||'%" target="_blank">'||VARIABLE_TO_APPEAR_AS_HYPERTEXT||' < /a></span>
    <p>
    Thanks for your help bclange. Hopefully the Oracle guys have read this and will add the target attribute to the link component next time!</p>
