Making dynamic selection parameter an onscreen parameter

Dear Experts,
I am search on threads regarding defining new fields and adding fields to dynamic selection options, however I have not found an answer to my issue. I need to add a field XBLNR (Reference) currently in the dynamic selections of FBL1N and FBL3N into the general selection parameters in the entry screen. Option of user going through the dynamic selection and creating variant of FBL1N is not optimal. It is prefered to have the field XBLNR (Reference) as an on screen parameter.
How can I achieve this? I checked SE36 and OBVU to no avail. Did I miss something?

Dynamic selection parameter in infopackage included in process chain

Hello,
I have a process chain that contains three infopackages, they are launched sequently. All of them have selection parameters calculated based on a parameter ID set in SAP memory by program, with ABAP sentence "SET PARAMETER ID.. ",..so the routine in the package executes a "GET PARAMETER id..." sentence.
The result is that no problem with first infopackage, the value is properly read, but for the other infopackages the value is not recovered from memory.
Any idea?

Problem in calling FBL3N and passing Dynamic Selection Screen Parameters

Hi Experts,
I am calling the standard report FBL3N in one of my reports using Submit.
I am passing the GLcode, Company code and Open at key Date in the selection screen.
Now my requirement is that I need to pass the Posting Key as '40' in my report.
40 signifies a Debit Entry.
Now the Posting key comes as a Dynamic Selection parameter in the FBL3n program.
I am unable to determine the name of the field to which I should pass the value 40.
Please advice.

Each GL Account belongs to Field status group--> table SKB1.
Each Field Status group will have specific field combinations --> We can get this using the tables TMODO and TMODP.
Pls design ur BDC depending on the values from these table.
(Note: I have done same like this for populating values to dynamic fields ).

How can i dynamically select columns based on the input parameter?

I have an input parameter which takes single numeric value.
Based on this value i have to dynamically select table-columns .
For eg: if i have following fields in my table :
SEM_1
SEM_2
SEM_3 and SEM_4.
And if i give numeric input as 2 , then i have to select "SEM_2" column only.
if the input is 3 then i have to select "SEM_3" only and leave the rest of the columns.
how do i achieve this dynamic feature in the "Select ..... From...... table...." statement in the ABAP??

you should try something like this.
TYPES: cond(72) TYPE c.

data: lv_field(30) type c value 'SEM_'.
write p_num to lv_field+4(1).
condw = lv_field.
append condw to condtab.
SELECT (CONDTAB) FROM table INTO.....

Dynamic select-options using parameter

Hi experts,
It the user selects one value from dropdown list, it should generate one select-option using that name. Is it possible?
for example, (pls see my code).
If user selects 'Malek' from parameter, <b>and press 'ENTER'</b>
<b>select-option should display with that name</b> like

Dynamic select & maxrows parameter

the help for DBSession.Select method says that the maxrows parameter is not
required. Leaving it out does not give a compile error. However at runtime
an error is got saying maxrows must be > 0.
I am using a method that accepts a where clause as a parameter and am not
really interested in what the number of rows will be.
Should I be?
Does anyone have any knowledge they can share on this one.

How to use Dynamic cascading parameter in crystal Report XI ?

Hi,
I want to use Dynamic cascading parameter in crystal Report XI which is to be viewed through the infoview without using the Business View.Is it possible?
I could implemented Dynamic cascading parameter using the CR XI developer without using Business View, but cannot view the report when uploaded it to BOXI, through infoview.

In the crystal reports field explorer>right click on parameter field>create new-->name the parameter field and select the type as dynamic. Now in the value field click the row and add the database field also add another field below that by clicking on the next row so..on. The order should be like this parent field first and then child field next...... Also click on the last column to add parmater for each level.

SSRS 05 snapshot with dynamic date parameter

I want to use snapshot for a SSRS 05 report due to high volume of report data. This report uses 2 date parameter which will keep changing every month ( mmyyyy) format. I read many blogs but it seems I can not have snapshot report in dynamic date situation.
Can someone please suggest if there is any workaround to use snapshot with dynamic date parameter . The report server version is 2005.

In Reporting Services, the snapshot is a report that contains layout information and data that is retrieved at a specific point in time. There’s a couple of requirements in order to use a snapshot:
Stored credentials for the data source.
Defaults for all Parameters.
Based on my research, we can use snapshot with dynamic date parameter. When we select 'Render this report from a report execution snapshot’ with a schedule and Apply in Execution tab, a snapshot is created and subsequently refreshed on a schedule. When we
render the report at a time, the report would be rendered with the latest snapshot layout information and data, then use the current parameter value to filter the snapshot report data. In this way, the current data would be different from the snapshot report
based on the current parameter values, but we can still use snapshot with dynamic date parameter.

SSRS 2012: How to get a "Select All" that returns NULL instead of an actual list of all values from a multi-select parameter?

I have a multi-select parameter that can have a list of thousands of entries. In general, the user will pick a few entries from the list or "Select All". If they check "Select All", I would much prefer that I get a NULL or an empty string
instead of a list of all values. Is there any way to do that?
In experimenting with a work-around, I tried putting an "All" label with a null value in the list, but it is ignored (does not display in the drop-down). If I use an empty string for the value, my "All" entry does get displayed, but so
does "Select All", which is confusing. Is there a way to suppress "Select All"?

To get a null value instead of the full list of all values when "Select All" is chosen:
1) Add a multi-value parameter "MyParam" that lists the values to choose.
2) Add a DataSet "ParamCount" identical to the one used by "MyParam", except that it returns a single column named [Count] that is a COUNT(*) of the same data
3) Add a parameter "MyParamCount", set it to hidden and internal, then set the default value to 'Get values from a query', choosing "ParamCount" for the Dataset and the one [Count] column for the Value field.
4) Change the parameter for the main report DataSet so that instead of using [@MyParam], it uses this expression:
=IIF(Parameters!MyParam.Count =
Parameters!ParamCount.Value, Nothing, Join(Parameters!MyParam.Value, ","))

SSRS using multiple select parameter in expression

I am using parameters to create my query at runtime using data set expression.
I have a multi select string parameter that gets populated using a query. I want to add this multi select parameter values to where clause in expression of mail data set. I am able to join the string and make it comma(,) separated but not sure how can I
add single quotes(') to it.

SSRS 2012 multi select parameter not working in Report Manager.

Hello,
I have one report with Multi select parameter. its working fine in bids, report server but I am facing some issue on report manager 2012.
Issue is, In Multi select parameter I have Suppose 6 value a,b,c,d,e,f after the deployment on report manager for the first time report is working fine with selecting all the value. but for the second time if my selection include either
a or f report gives no result and check box get unselect.
I also try on different report manager but same result.
what can be a issue here causing problem only for two value but working fine for other value?

The Issue is with when you click on View Report button of Report Manager for Parameters which contain CHAR(10) and CHAR(13).
Where ever that Column is used in Report Data Set ,
Use replace(replace(Param,char(10),''),char(13),'') function.

Multiple select parameter with each selected value covering multiple sub values

Hello, everyone,
In my SSRS report, I need to set a multiple select parameter called Group, with values: group1 group2, etc....
When group1 is selected, it needs to apply to data of certain sub groups: sub-group1, sub-group2;
When group2 is selected, it needs to apply to data of different sub groups: sub-group3, sub-group4 and sub-group5;
when both group1 and group2 are selected, then, it needs to apply to data of sub-group1 to sub-group5.
I know how to do it when only one group is selected: simply use a case statement in the query to select the right sub groups based on the group selected.
But I don't know a good way to do it when multiple groups are selected.
Any help, pointers are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If I understand correctly, there are two parameters (Group and Sub_group) in the report. When we select group1 in Group parameter, it will auto select sub-group1, sub-group2 in the Sub_group parameter; when we select group2 in Group parameter, it will auto
select sub-group3, sub-group4 and sub_group5 in the Sub_group parameter; when we select both all, it will auto select all sub_group values. If I have misunderstood, please don't hesitate to let me know.
In this scenario, we can create a temporary table with Group and Sub_group columns, then select Sub_group column values based on the Group field. For more details, please see:
Create a dataset with the query below:
CREATE TABLE #temp([group] nvarchar(50),sub_group nvarchar(50))
INSERT INTO #temp VALUES ('group1','sub-group1'),('group1','sub-group2'),('group2','sub-group3'),('group2','sub-group4'),('group2','sub-group5')
SELECT * FROM #temp
where [group] in (@Group)
Set available values and default values of Sub_group parameter with get values from the sub_group field in the new dataset.
Note that the two parameters are all multiple parameters.

GR55 Report - Need to add Document type in selection parameter

Our client needs to have document type in selection parameter for one report group which has 4 reports attached.
Changes have been made and now document type is already there in selection parameter. But irrespective of document type Output is same.
That is if i Give docuement type or not it gives me same output.
This report is bein copies n new report is made.
Can any one help me out with how go proceed further.

You just copied the output from an existing one right....
Inorder to get the report documenmt type wise you also need to change the output format of the report.
Ask your ABAPer to get this tobe done...

May be I couldn't explain my question well , sorry for that.
When I define a new Movement code using T code OMJJ ( in IMG) , there is a field for SELECTION PARAMETER.
I wanted to know the impact of this field value.
Pavan , you are right that value is like a searching criteria but I am just wondering how can I check whether system is working as per the SELECTION PARAMETER defined for a movement type.
For example , in movement type 101 defined selection parameter is WE101 (Open Goods Receipts) , so where I should check (in which list ) whether system is taking it as default value or not.
I know for you people might find it a stupid question but I have no other option than u people )
