Making empty fields invisible

hi,
I am having a no of text views in which data is coming from data base. Now my requirement is if there is no value in text view then it should nt be visible.
plz suggest hw can i proceed.
i can nt bind every UI with attribute and control its visibility independently. because no of UI are very large.

Maybe you can use "CL_WD_TEXT_VIEW" in the "WDMODIFYVIEW" method.
for example:
   "1st, you should add all the Text-view UI element into one internal table which has the ID of the UI element.

How to resize JDialog after making some fields invisible?

Hi,
I have many fields in a JDialog box. And I am making some of them invisible (based on some logic).
Even though I am using invisible, the dialog size is not resized automatically.
I can see so much space and it is not good.
Is there any way so that I can resize this dialog?

Conditionally making a field invisible.....

Some of the values in a column has dots(.). Conditionally i have to make it invisible.
I tried replacing null value for a dot using decode function, but in this case the other column values are shifting themselves up by taking place of null values thus losing sync with other columns.
After the decode statement i want the null value to remain null in sync with the other columns instead of replacing the null value with a value below it (shifting up)

Thanks for the reply.
Originally the problem persisted with the null values in the column and it is getting shrinked when the statement goes to the second page.
This template is already created and I need to modify it. There are six different columns in the template and each column has its own for each and END for each (similar grouping for all say G_XYZ).
Say in the 5th column if the first row in the second page(continuation from first page) is null then it is shiftng itself up losing sync with the other columns.
To over come this I used decode in the 5th column field. I replaced the null value with a dot. It is working fine now(shrinking problem is nailed) but the users dont like the dot in place of null value.
I tried to make the dot invisble using:

But it is throwing error: " XML-22047: (Error) Invalid instantiation of 'Attribute' in 'Element' context." .
It does not like ctx="block" and if I replace block with line or inline, it is working as expected.
The solution I am looking for now is to avoid shrinking of null values at first place. If not then substitute this null with some value that is invisible (say invisible dot) and avoid shrinking.

Making the fields invisible or etc. at the item overview screen

At the header data of the sales documents, there exist incoterms and payment terms. I want to make those invisible at the item overview screen (under Billing Document tab). I just want those data root from the header data, not from the item data. I don't want to enter data (about payment terms or incoterms) on the item overview screen.

Thank you for your consideration but can you please explain step by step.
Also to be more clear; the incoterm datas of the sales document's items come from the customer master data. Person can change or enter data about incoterms although there may exist different incoterm data at the header. That's why I want to hide or make unchangeable the incoterm field at the billing document tab of item data.

Make fields invisible in SAPLBBP_MON_SC 1200

Dear SRM-gurus,
for making fields unvisible in Shopping Cart Detail you can go to SE51 --> SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS --> e.g. 100 and set fields whether "Invisible" or in Screen Painter double-click on the specific field and enter "MOR" in the 4th group field.
This works perfectly for SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS.
Now we'd like make the same restriction of fields in "Monitor Shopping Cart" transaction.
--> SE51 --> SAPLBBP_MON_SC --> 1200
Here when I click on Layout and set the field as "Invisible" this works alright for the description of the fields (e.g. Description) BUT for all the fields where values can be entered there is no way to make them invisible in transaction BBP_MON_SC. No matter if I set Invisible and/or the value MOR in 4th group field.
Do you have any idea how I can also make the dropdown and value fields invisible (not available)?

Hi Henning,
The trick cannot work in SAPLBBP_MON_SC_1200, because in the application there is no handling for the modification group. That is the difference with SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS / 0100. We used the trick there to avoid modifications in HTML because HTML has no modification-assistent and ABAP does.
In your case I would suggest to modify the HTML-template (service BBP_MON_SC, template SAPLBBP_MON_SC 1200 ) to hide the unwanted fields simply by deleting or commenting the unwanted tablerows.

Database - reports - suppress empty fields

I have a fairly large database which frequently has a number of empty fields in the records. Is there a way I can suppress the empty fields when I print a report? It might reduce a nearly 60 page report to 30. A significant saving.

Short Dump while making a fields as required in BDT object screens

Hi,
I'm making a field as "required" by checking the required button on that field in the BDT screen.
But am getting a short dump when I'm trying to use that screen.
It seems like some data is getting converted to bad format due to this (am not fully sure about it.)
Any idea on this.

Contract - problem with attachements (empty field in LOIO_OBJID)

We are using extended classic scenario of SRM 4.0 (SRM Server 500) and our latest support package is SAPKIBKS12. We have the following problem with contracts.
Sometimes when an attachment is added to a contract the system does not fill the following fields in tabel BBP_PDATT.
LOIO_CLASS: Normally filled with BBP_L_DOC
LOIO_OBJID: Normaly filled with a GUID size datastring
Whenever this happens and later on the contract is changed and released the system will raise an abort. We tried the following notes but no good result.
891293,919467,932602,964065. Some other notes that might be possible are 1042826/1085700/1083063 but we also don't have good experience with these ones.
Can anyone give us advice about two things.
1) Is there a way to fill the empty fields in BBP_PDATT so that existing contract will work properly again?
2) Does anyone know why this problem occurs and how to fix it for new contracts?

Making selective fields editable in adobe form [using web dynpro]

I have displayed an adobe form using web dynpro application. But I have to make certain fields (not all fields) on this adobe form editable. I dont want to make this adobe form interactive because I dont have to save any data in database. The data entered in the editable fields will be saved as a pdf.
What I did so far:
1) The fields which I want as editable, I have given there type as "User entered/ optional" & for rest of the fields I have given type as "Read only".
2) In web dynpro, I have enabled the adobe
3) This is not making the fields editable.
4) If I write the following code in my webdynpro method WDDOMODIFYVIEW, then my data coming from adobe is not getting displayed even though the fields get selectively editable.

So I kept this code & I also kept the Interface type "ABAP Dictionary based".
Additionally in Webdynpro, I used adobe form generated FM to get the adobe content & passed it to the "content" parameter of my adobe component in webdynpro.

i need to display some empty fields in the output txt file, in between teh normal database fields i am displaying
for eg if first field is f1 (1-10)
second is f2 (11-35)
third field is empty i need todisplay as (12-45)
and again f4 as (13-60) so on
such there are multiple fields in between dattabase field which just needs to be displayed as empty only and all fields should be seperated by space as showni above eg

Hi APEX users and developer, especially forum's active users, please get me rid of this problem because it is really very bad situation.
I have a real trouble with application. It behaves unusual. Application is used by 60 users but only 3 of them have these problem and they can not use the application anymore.

After fields are filled and some rows checked from tabular form in page, user submits the page. Process called newReyestr calls plsql procedure from package with inputs from page. But only same 3 users get empty fields in plsql code. I see it just after when the first line stepped in procedure.

you know, I have not written big quote. The code was big. But it has no any meaning. Because problem is in first line. No need to understand it.
There is no any difference between those users. They also tried it from different browser and even computers.

Validation of multiple empty fields in dynamic form

I have created multiple fields dynamic form consisting of both mandatory & optional fields. Since the mandatory fields are validated by default, I want to validate the optional fields while submitting as PDF document dynamically and prompt me to continue or discard the submission. Also validating each & every field is not valid option as my form contains more than 200 fields.
I have tried with the below script which I successfully used to lock the form but in validating the empty fields I have a problem. Although I populate all the fields in the form, still I receive the validation message. Can anybody help me out on this issue?

I discovered how to accomplish this using the Manage Dynamic Form Wizard and changed the "Display as" field property from "Text field" to "Text" for the fields I wanted read only.
Now I have another problem, the properties of one of the fields (for comments) was "Text area" when I changed it to "Text" I now have this extremely long line that streches the width of the browser.
Is there a way to get this line to wrap? This is he line I'm working with...
