Making Silhoutte in PS elements 2

Is there a plug in that can be downloaded to make silhouttes using PS Elements 2??
If not does anyone know a easy way to make them?
Thanks
Dustin

Dustin,
Here is a nice gallery to give you some ideas:

I have a photo of a bird and made a silhouette:
http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1NrHQSaULTx6Fo464E1ZfWoUwxmG2
1. Duplicate background layer and shut off visibility of the background layer by clicking on its eye icon in the layers palette
2. Used magic wand tool to select the blueish background
3. Select>inverse. Hit delete on keyboard
4. Fill selection with black - Edit>fill selection>black
5. Create new blank layer between background layer and background copy layer. Fill with 50%gray -Edit>fill>50% gray
6. Apply gradient to this layer. I used orange-yellow-orange. You can use any background that is to your liking.

  • Making calendars in photoshop elements 7

I am having trouble making a custom calendar in photoshop. I need to make a custom calendar for my online college class and I have made the picture but can not figure out how to make the calendar. I have tried the create photo calendar but it just takes me to a page a buy a calendar and I do not need that. I found another way to make the calendar by going to the display button on the top and going to the set date or the date button and have made it somewhat like that but can not figure out how to save it on my computer instead of just in the photoshop. I have photoshop elements 7 on my computer. I just can not figure out what to do and hope someone can help me.
    Thanks
    Diana

    Hi Barbara,
I know you can find them elsewhere online but it can be a bit of a minefield which is why I bought Elements 7.  As
someone else pointed out on the forum, it seems Adobe just want to make a bit of extra money - the old meanies! lol

    Quoting Barbara Brundage <[email protected]>:
There's nothing to stop you from making calendars, just for some weird reason
adobe doesn't want to include templates. But if you google "calendar template
photoshop elements" without the quotes, you'll find a slew of calendar
templates you can use in PSE.

  • Making bridge open in elements 6 automatically

When I select an image in Bridge it is opening with preview instead of Photoshop Elements 6.
I want to make the images open in Elements 6 automatically.
How do I do this ?

my computer is a mac and the os is osx10.6.8
So you mean having Bridge that came with PSE 6
This is a bit tricky because we are used to the Photoshop edition and I don't know if it acts the same because I believe Bridge PSE was a bit more limited then the real deal :-).
However, like station two already stated, you need to set the file type associations.
First try Bridge / preferences and see if you have a section called File Type Associations. Then find the file type you want to open in PSE and from the button menu right choose the wanted application.
If not possible use the Finder itself for this.
Select a file you want to open in PSE, then use the Get Info command ( cmd + i) and inhere you also have the option to choose what default application to open it with.
Include the apply to all option and you should be OK.

  • Trouble making Layers In Photoshop Elements

I am using Photo Shop Elements 10 and Light Room 4, when I open a photo in Light Room 4, and then I transfer it from Lofht Room 4 directly Elements10, Elements 10 will open the photo, BUT I Can Not make a duplic ar any other type of Layer.
Any suggestions, the transfer is 8 bit PSE format.

Even if it is 16 bits channel you can change it to 8 bits channel under Image>Mode.
If the photo is already 8 bits/channel then that menu command would be grayed out.

  • Making file desin with elements and attributes implementation

    hello
this is an FILE to IDOC
I have an xml file that need to be enter to the XI. the XML has attributes and elements.
I would like to know how can I make an element with some attributes and below there should be a subelement.
for example, in delivery there will be all the attributes, and I would like to make it an array so there will be below subelemnt in the name of carrier for example.
(if any one has other ways to implement this file feel free to suggest.)
    - <delivery number="1234567890" shipment-type="Y014" shipping-point="1910" ifm-reference="125" status="final">

    - <!--  Actual arrival reported by carrier
      -->
      </delivery>

    >>that what I thought, but after I do the attributes for the element, I dont have the option to write for the element sub-element.
I guess the current row that is selected would be an attribute thus the option insert subelement is disabled. Always select the element and insert either attribute or subelement to it.

  • Making prints with photoshop elements

I have Photoshop Elements 7 & 11, each on a different computer.  When I go to make prints on my Epson 2400 from either program,  my prints come out substantially darker than they appears on the monitors.  What I doing wrong or... not doing ? BTW,  I do use ICC's and let photoshop handle the color management.  Any thoughts???
    Thanks,
    Amos

Suggest that you calibrate your monitor. Most likely, it is too bright.

  • Making a 3D button element

Two questions about creating an element to look like a 3D button...
What is the best way to make something look like a 3D button?
How do i do the following?
"and change top gradient color to white with 26% opacity and bottom gradient color to white with 11% opacity"
I don't see how to set opacity per color in a gradient, only for the element.

  • Trouble making contact sheet in Elements 6

I'm trying to make contact sheets, but when I get to the step where I'm supposed to click on an image and add it to the sheet, none of the images are "live" or "clickable." In other words, I can see them in the file folder, but when I click on them, nothing happens. How do I "turn them on" so that I can send them to the contact sheet? Thanks for help!--Drew

Interesting question. I have downloaded to iPhoto in the past, but this batch was downloaded through Elements6 and I access the photos through my regular photo files/folders system. Thanks for hanging in there with me on this!

  • Premiere Elements freezing and closing after adding a Menu.

I have been making movies with Premiere Elements for awhile now.  Ever since I started, I have had the same problem.  It would hang, and eventually close on me.  I then got the new version, PE8 a while back.  Unfortunately, I still had the same problem.
I made an entire video having trouble with the freezing problem.  But I put up with it and saved every few minutes.  Now I get to the end and made the Menu pages.  When I almost finished it, it closes on me.  I keep trying to go back into it, with absolutely NO success!  I have been dealing with this for a long time, so I am well aware of needing to turning off the internet and virus software with the realtime scanning.  I also have been manually closing everything I can in my startup menu.
Every so often I restart to see if that helps, but no help.  So, I have been looking at the conversations here for a while recently and have tried what I think is everything.  I made sure I had the updated version of Elements 8.  I updated everything, all the important and optional updates.  Made sure my graphics card was up to date.  I don't use QuickTime, but I updated it anyway.  I ran Disc Cleanup and Defrag.  I did the MsConfig disabling bonjour, apple mobile, ITunes, Reader.  I had it boot without GUI.  I even disabled the Windows Indexing feature.
Even after all that, every time I open PE8, I gives me the warning message that it is running low on memory!  I don't know what else to do.  Please help.
Now I know you all want to know what the details of my system are, so here it is.
    Dell XPS 420
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Service Pack 2
Intel Core Quad CPU Q9450 2.66 GHz
    4.00 GB Ram
    32 bit OS
    600GB Hard Drive
    207 Free disc space
My graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 3600 Series with the driver version 8.850.0.0  Dated 4/19/2011.
I believe that is all that you need.  If I forgot anything, please let me know.
    Thanks for your help,  Sharon

Only having one hard drive will mean that your computer will run SLOW, but that should not cause a shut-down

Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708?tstart=0 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for video editing

A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... I have not used this eSata Dock... for reference only, YMMV and all the usual disclaimers

  • How do I take an edited photo from lightroom 5 to elements 12?

How do I take an edited photo from lightroom 5 to elements 12?

Marsha, you seem to be a bit confused or perhaps uninformed about how Lightroom works. Lightroom should be at the beginning of your workflow. Whether you are working on raw images or JPEG, or whatever, Lightroom is where you should begin. None of the adjustments that you make using Lightroom are applied to the image. They are saved in the catalog progressively as you work on the image. Photoshop Elements sits in a secondary position in the typical workflow. In Lightroom, there is an option to "Edit in", and Photoshop Elements or Photoshop or whatever editor you have chosen will be one of the choices. You go to Elements to do things that cannot be done or can be done more efficiently in the other program. When you have finished making the adjustments in Elements a new copy of the image containing both the Lightroom adjustments and the Elements adjustments will be created, and will be added to the Lightroom catalog.
If you want an edited copy of your image in Elements than you would want to use the export function in Lightroom to export a copy that would include all adjustments that have been made. A typical workflow would be to maintain your master set of images, including copies created by Elements because of additional editing in that program, and then export JPEG copies suitable for posting on the web, for e-mail, or for sending to a lab to be printed. After those copies that were exported have been used for their intended purpose, they can be deleted, and you only have your master images to maintain in case there are other adjustments or new approaches in the future.

  • What to do with a NoName Element

    Hi,
When I convert from unstructured to stuctured, FM is automatically making the highest level element a NoName.  Is there a simple way to convert NoName into a Chapter element?  Chapter is my highest level...
My best solution so far is to wrap NoName with a Chapter element and then move everything out of NoName manually in the structured viewer.  There must be a better way.
    Thanks,
    JW

    JW,
That NoName element occurs when the conversion table process is unable to wrap your content all the way to the top. Either your conversion table contains incomplete instructions, or the process bumped into something that was unexpected and this disrupted the wrapping process. You have several options:
    - Deal with it and fix it manually, as you are doing now
    - Enhance your conversion table to handle the unexpected situation(s) it encountered
    - Remove or fix the unexpected situation in your document
    - Use an RE: mapping row in your conversion table to set the root element (this will just retag, it won't fix whatever caused the original problem)
In those sample files I pointed you towards, you'll note that you can wrap all the way to the top, but everything must be in place. If you took one of those sample files and introduced some paragraph format that the conversion table does not account for, the process would break and you would get NoName at the top.

  • How can I efficiently resize photos and add zooms to send to Premiere Elements

    Hi
I am regularly making DVDs in Premiere Elements V3 with about 200 pics from my  V5 Catalogue ,with  some zooms and then adding about a dozen edited video sequences, adding sound, transitions etc in premiere Elements. This is the normal profile of what I do
I now need to find a simple and efficient work flow  to do this.
What I am doing so far ( but it might have to change very soon when I upgrade to V7 depending on how compatible the versions are, and whether they offer better ways to do this) is
         Make Collection in Photoshop
Export to Folder  ( my folder destination for the resized images),  changing the resolution in the dialogue box
Then use that folder as source for Premiere.
    This works EXCEPT
Issue1        The order of the pics was changed ,and was not that in the Collection. This was done during the export phase, so seems to do with PS, rather than the import to PE. It seems random, not date etc
Isuue 2         Now how do I do my zooms, as currently this can only be done in slide show creation , I think,. And I don't think you can the save a slide show to file.
So I am getting a bit confused
At first I used "process multiple images", but it used an extra stage, first "export to file", then  "process Multiple files". This was not as quick but did retain the order.
So if there are suggestions on the best way to do this in general and for PE7and PS7 that would be helpful.
    Thanks
    Chris

update your mac to the latest and greatest lion software.  then you can photo stream wirelessly through wi-fi.  but that is about it.  and beware, lion has had many issues.  make sure you look at the comments people are making on the reviews page and make sure the problmes have been updated.  i have not upgraded yet, for i want to wait to see if they get all the bugs worked out before doing so.  been issues with losing information and firmware issues.

  • The price for upgrade form Premiere Elements 11 to 13

I have Premiere Elements 11 now and want to upgrade to 13 (getting a new computer / OS). I've read that there is an upgrade price those who use previous versions to 13. Everywhere I look it seem it's around the same price.. no special price mention for anyone using previous versions.
Is there a link somewhere that I'm just not seeing?

    Hi Tony,
If you head here: Video making software | Adobe Premiere Elements 13
You can click "Upgrade Now" instead of "buy now" to get the upgrade pricing. With the current promotion, however, Upgrade pricing is more expensive than if you buy it full. (US $69full vs US$79 upgrade).
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Pete

  • SD-PS- WBS Element in Sales Order

    Dear Gurus,
While linking WBS Element in ACCOUNT ASSIGNMENT tab in Sales Order , if the project or WBS is not in REL( Relesed) mode, the system should not allow to Assign the WBS Element in the Sales Order.
Eg: If the WBS Element is not ticked for Billing, Then the system will not allo to assign the WBS element into Sales Order. Like this
I want to configure for above Scenario.
So how can i configure this in SD.
    Cheers,
    Sumith

    Hi Sumith,
This is standard in SAP, that you can include the WBS element regardless of marked as a billing element or not.But system will not allow you to do billing using those WBS elements which are not marked as a billing element in project system.
The facility to include the WBS (not maked as a billing element ) in the sales order is for the tracking of project revenue. For example: You can create a sales order including WBS elements , so that there will be tracking of the material and planned revenue ( which is to be billed to the customer to generate revenue ).
And if you have to start billing those material items to the customer then you have to mark them as billing elements in the project.
Or if you really want to restrict the WBS element  in sales order as per your requirment then you can use different user status or can create a ABAP program to be triggred at the time of saving the sales order that should display a error message like these many WBS elements cannot be included in the sales order as they are not marked for account assignment.
