Making sure you start on record 1

I have used the QBE code in my program and I works well. I have an issue though in that I have added a button to return to the query screen from the results screen and allow for another query to be done. When you issue the 2nd query the results screen does not always start at record 1. For example - I query smith - get back 200 results - I page through the results using next/previous and end up on record 65. I hit my return button and go back to query again - this time I say jones - get back 200 results - but my results page is show ups starting on record 65. How do I set the results screen to always start on record one?

On your branch setup you will see a checkbox for 'reset pagination for this page', If this is selected on the branch returning you to your query screen it will reset the query back to record 1
hope it helps

  • Making sure you can't use back button to go back to a secure page

    I am wondering how I can go about ensuring that the user of my application can not use the back button to go back to a secure page after leaving it.
    What is the easiest way to implement this added security?
    Thank you.

    I think the easiest way would be to put in a javascript that opens a page of your choice (such as the home page of a site, for example) and another javascript that closes the browser window. You can get the new window script by clicking here. I'm not sure about the close browser window javascript, but I know that there is a close browser (kills the whole browser, and all the open windows) available here, but that may be a bit overkill. I think you could redo the javascript on the first one so it says something like close_window , but I'm new to javascript and wouldn't know for sure...
    Hope this helps!

  • How do you do a manual click off to start the recording

    So, at my work, I play piano for dance classes, and the instructor usually gives me 4 or 8 or so counts before everyone starts dancing. When I want to record to the metronome, I need the count off to be in time with what the instructor says, but making sure that that is so can be difficult because sometimes they count off at different tempos. So! If there is a way to manually press the 4 clicks that would determine the tempo before the recording starts, I would really want to know it. I know you can do this on many keyboards, but I don't know about Logic. I assume there is a way since it seems like Logic has everything.
    This is a different question, but nonetheless important: So is there a way to get a visual metronome click instead of just the sound clicking when I'm recording? Because many times I record the music as they dance, so when I want to stay with the metronome to be able to add layers layer, I need to keep the metronome clicks on. But having those metronome clicks can be annoying, so is there any way to get a visual blinking light or something?? Thanks for the help.

    Hi B,
    Welcome to the forum!
    well, a very simple way to do it, is:
    load the Klopfgeist (metronome "sound" click generator) as a soft synth
    (yes in a track) with the pencil tool click on a track to create a region, double click
    to open the piano roll, and write how many clicks you want on the grid.
    On the transport bar, Just under the denominator (say 4/4) is the Division that goes
    from 4 to 192 (click and drag up or down with the mouse) this value determines
    the number of divisions per measure, so you have enough!
    As the Klopfgeist is a soft synth per se, you can customize a lot from tonality to level or even load
    some presets (actually about 10) or make the downbeat one or more octaves higher than the
    other clicks etc. .
    This seems a long explanation but takes about 10 seconds to make.
    Peace,
    Jorge

  • I keep getting the message, "Windows cannot find 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I get it when I either try to open it from the Start menu or from the desktop icon.

    I've just installed Firefox on my laptop and keep getting the message, "Windows cannot find 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." I get this message whenever I either try to open it from the Start menu or from the desktop icon. I've never gotten it to work and even uninstalled it and then redownloaded it and still cannot get it to open. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

    Are you installing from the official site? http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
    If you use Windows Explorer (My Computer) to check that path, is the Mozilla Firefox folder there? That is the normal installation location, but I think it's worth checking.
    If the folder isn't there or firefox.exe is not in it, I wonder whether some other software might be interfering. You might want to run some supplemental security scans. These two tools are highly regarded:

    There have been a lot of recent reports of difficulties sharing to DVD, but haven't been hearing about unreadable disks. Posibly there was an encoding error. Or it could have been bad media (blank disk).

  • How do I stop "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page." from comeing up. It is new. Just started doing it yesterday morning.

    I have used FireFox to play the Game Kingdoms Of Camelot, a facebook game. I also have Grease Monkey and a 3rd party add on. I leave it running 24/7 to gather food in the game for my army. It has run smoothly for 6 mo. Yesterday 2/04/11 in the morning it started asking for conformation when the page refreshed. i want to know how to stop this Box from comeing up it will not continue without refreshing and will not refresh untill th question is answered. It says "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page."

    You're not going to stop it, and out here, what's illegal?
    What it boils down to is a matter of ethics, and it's wrong. But the web
    techies build this feature into their sites because they know somebody
    is going to fly in off an engine like Google or MSN. And take something,
    like a picture. Without stopping in and signing up or something else.
    But what if I or you is out collecting stamps or avatars or wallpapers,
    and have already taken a quiz, or signed up for a product? I've already
    done that...but the site developers who use this ingenious(hijacking)
    software don't see it that way, and don't care if you just got a computer
    and want to pick up something here or there. Those sites don't get
    anything when you visit and don't leave your number. I don't what

  • Diaabling the window that pops up when you start recording

    I finally got my friend to try Logic and he loves it, but he complains about the window that pops up when you start recording audio. Its not a problem for me but he swears it annoys him so I told him I would find out if it can be removed. So does anyone know if that window can be disabled?

    I don't think you can remove it. I agree, that would be a nice option to have.
    I think though, that if he were to move it over to a corner of the screen, Logic will remember this placement, and whenever he goes into record, it should open up where he left it, hopefully out of the way enough not to bother him so much...

    Seriously, try googling something like "iphone game stickman".

  • "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now?" message on start up

    This morning on startup I received the popup message "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now?". Canceling has no effect. The message just reappears on restart. I've verified the disk; it's fine. I've repaired permissions and I get this message: "Warning: SUID file System/Library/Core has been modified and will not be repaired. Any ideas as to what is going on?

    Can you perhaps look in the console (/utilities/console) and watch for what's written around the time of the dialog?
    Perhaps an indication is there.

    Ive paid $$ for the games and then more $$ within the games via iTunes for in game purchases and desperatly want the games on the 4 with the levels that I have reached on the 3!
    Can anyone help!! Please!!!! My Smurfs and Animals are starving Hahahaha

    Mate, it's good to hear that you have gotten the iPhone 4 but sorry to burst your bubbles. Not all games can have the "saved" data ported over.
    Normally when you save a game in iPhone, the memory used is in the flash memory of the device. Those that can be ported over, reason is due to the data being saved over the air and when you logged in on a new device, it recognises you via the userID.
    Maybe you can try to backup your iPhone 3, and restore the file onto your iPhone 4. Not too sure if that would brick your phone though.

  • Where's the "Are you sure you want to change channels"window?

    We used to have Dish and it had one amazing feature that AT&T doesn't have. When I have live tv paused or just rewound back a bit, and then I accidentally hit a number button or the channel up/down button, with AT&T the channel gets changed and I lose the show I was watching. So very infuriating. With Dish, a little window popped up that asked if I was sure I wanted to change channels and switch to live tv, click yes to change or no to stay where you are on the current channel. It's starting to become a deal breaker. Seriously considering switching back because of this one problem, it matters.

    If that bothers you so much, switch back.  There are no tuners like on Dish, here on Uverse, you just use upto four streams on IPTV.  As soon as you leave a channel, the buffer is reset to that channel.  You'll have no problems if you'd be a little more careful and set the remote in your lap and don't pick it up until ready to use.
    If you want to pause a program, press Record to start it recording and can just watch the recording, will include everything in the buffer, so could go back/forth on the recording.

  • Start / stop recording from other software?

    I have a setup where three cameras are supposed to start/stop recording based on user interaction in another software. So, is it possible to trigger a recording to start and stop from another software? If so, how can this be done?

    To be honest Im not sure but I dont think so.
    If this is a securitycam setup one way to do it without having to have acces to "endles" storage space is to use one of the free services for webcasting like jtv, ustream, veetle, or livestream. I believe all of them have a privace option so you can enter a securitycode so only you can acces the videos. Its not optimal but it gets the job done. I believe some of them will erase videos after a while though if you dont highlight them for saving.

  • After purchasing Quicktime Pro, how do you start the program?

    I recently purchased Quicktime Pro and received the order acknowledgement along with the license key.  I added this as instructed, clicked "apply" and nothing changed.  I cannot find QP anywhere.  I only see the Quicktime Player that I already have.  Is there another program or file that I need to download?

    I tried the links and see nothing that I haven't already read.  Everything assumes that after the product license is installed, you then have PRO.  Perhaps I should be looking for another (or new) desktop icon, in addition to Player?!?
    The only other thing I have found is this tidbit...
    After Installation, click on Start > Control Panel and search for QuickTime.
    Open the QuickTime Control Panel and enter your QuickTime Pro registration information there.

  • Making sure I understand release/retain correctly

    Let's say I do the following (foo starts out as some object):
    [foo release];
    // STUFF with foo
    [foo retain];
    As long as I'm not re-assigning foo, at the end of this I'll still have the same foo, right? I'm not risking losing foo during the //STUFF am I?
    I guess I'm making sure that my understanding of release is correct. If I release foo, it doesn't actually go away until all handles on it are gone. In other words, foo would have to be assigned to some other object in the //STUFF, or foo would have to go out of scope in the //STUFF (and presumably have a new foo created) in order for the actual original foo object to be deleted, right?
    Ok, edit for motivation, because that's kind of a dumb thing to want to do, right?
    The reason I want to do this is that lets say I have the following switch statement:
    switch (test)
    case 1:
    foo = [A alloc];
    [foo inita];
    break;
    case 2:
    foo = [B alloc];
    [foo initb];
    break;
    case 3:
    [foo setupc];
    break;
    case 4:
    f = [D alloc];
    [foo initd];
    break;
    It makes sense to release foo before the switch and retain it at then end. EXCEPT for case 3. So, I was thinking that if was safe to do what I proposed, it might make the code simpler.
    Of course I can just put a release/retain pair around each alloc/init, but that's a lot of replicated code...
    A [foo autorelease] and then the retain might just do the trick.

    There is no way to tell. If the retain count of foo was one just before the release, then all bets are off.

    I'm not sure I understand your understanding. I wouldn't use a term like "handle" since that has a specific meaning that is different than "retain count". If you replace "handle" with "retain count", then you are correct.
    In other words, foo would have to be assigned to some other object in the //STUFF, or foo would have to go out of scope in the //STUFF (and presumably have a new foo created) in order for the actual original foo object to be deleted, right?
    I'm not sure what you are saying. Objective-C is not C++. A variable going out of scope means nothing in Objective-C. It isn't that complex. It keeps track of the number of times "retain" is called on the object (including the original, implicit "retain"). When the number of releases matches the number of retains, then the object is deallocated.
    Ok, edit for motivation, because that's kind of a dumb thing to want to do, right?
    The reason I want to do this is that lets say I have the following switch statement:

    break;
    case 4:
    f = [D alloc];
    [foo initd];
    break;
    You don't want to do that. Alloc-init is a set of operations. You can't spit them up. The object that "alloc" returns may not necessarily be the same object that "init" returns. "Alloc" may just return a global proxy object to do something more clever during the init.
